Listens intently as the professor explains the wand qualities. Looking down at her wand she wonders what thing about her personality brought this wand to her. "Amazing," She looks up and waits for the homework. |
Aph looks down at her wand and smiles. Completely unique to me, she thinks happily. Anyone else in this school would have problems getting it to work for them...too tempermental. "Thanks professor it was a wonderful lesson!" |
Walks into class i think i am late and site by myself at the back of the class and gets out parchment * Cari* |

*raises hand* "But Professor, you may probally already answered this or may have nothing to do with anything or may be a dump question, but...what does the wand type, length, and core have to with the magic that we do?" *she puts her hand down waiting for a responce and hoping that no one hits her with something or does a bad spell on her* |
I'm sorry...but i think i late,too. |
Annaliese look at her wand. And then looked to Christian. He was starting to annoy her, and wasnt even talking to her, so she walked out of her chair and to an empty table. |
^^ Christian looked at annalise moving away from him. Finally he muttered, he didnt even know who this person was. He then looked at his wand, it was 11.5 inches, Maple, with a phoenix feather core. |
14 inches: Temperance. Control, harmony, peace, self-control, adaptability, imagination. // Quarrels, corruption, strife. 2 quarters (one half)= partnership, commitment, balance, juggling Interesting. |
"You mean it wasn't my charm that drew you to me?" Eric remarked at Ashlie. He then raised his hand. "Professor, does the wand really determine the future or is it just some guideline?" |
Ashlie smirked back. "Oh, a lil bit of that probably did so," she said batting her eyes. Turning serious, she said, "I believe it's only a guidline. After all, everyone has many opportunities to change their future, by the choices they make. In truth, I say your future lay entirely in your hands." |
Eric nodded, taking this in. "Right." |
OOC: spiritallstars28 and HP301 - I suggest you read the classroom guidelines, now. They can be found here. The very first rule. Madame Noire raises an eyebrow at the two Ravenclaws. "Either you are in the wrong class or just simply do not know how to read a clock. This lesson began an hour ago. What is the reason for coming in only a few minutes before the bell rings? 10 points from Ravenclaw. I hope this teaches you something." She shakes her head and sighs. "She-Who-Is-Not-To-Be-Psycho: A wand always describes you, even if you don't think it does. It's like the Sorting Hat: you might think you're an absolute Gryffindor, but then end up in Slytherin. Wands see qualities in you that even you yourself might not be aware of. Wands breaking... Hmm. No, I don't think you can ever find a wand as good as your first one. It'll be harder to find a second wand that has almost the same qualities as your old one. That is why you should always treat your wand with extra care. A wand is your life's partner, your companion forever. Some people never buy a new wand if they lose or snap the original. To them, it feels like buying a new spouse. WizardGurl4ever: It's not a dumb question, don't worry. Most wand cores, woods and lengths are suitable for doing everything. But some are treated with special conditions, or have certain qualities that come out in the wand. For example, dragons are well suited for healing as dragon blood and nails are often used in healing potions. Some woods - like holly, cedar and mahogany - are adapted to protective charms as they were used for making shelters and fortresses in old times. angelwings: Yes, it's more of a guideline, as Hermione_loves_Ron said. It hints at what your future might include, wether you use it for good or bad purposes." Madame Noire now stretches and looks at the clock again. "Oh my! I believe it is lunch time now. Scuttle off, you don't want to go to your next class empty-bellied! Oh, and before you go-" She gives her wand a slight wave, and cookies appear on all desks. "Help yourselves. Don't lose your appetite, though! I will post the homework on the Notice Board." She winks and smiles, waiting for the students to leave. |
Ashlie nods and then sends a look to the two Ravenclaws in the back, shaking her head slightly. "I especially liked this lesson, Professor," Ashlie said. "Although... because my wand stands for loss and such, does that mean that I may lose people in my future? That is something completly out of my own control, I know." |
Francis stares at those two Ravenclaws annoyed. How could they be considered Ravenclaws if they cant even read the class rules. Annoyed, she sighs and shakes her head. What a disgrace for the Ravenclaw house. One of these two Ravenclaws had been late for other classes as well. Now.. all of those points she and her other fellow Ravenclaws had worked hard to get, were being sabotaged. Angrily, she grabs her things and heads towards the Homework Notice Board.. |
"Ashlie, loss doesn't always mean losing others. It might be losing something that is a part of you. A personality trait, for example. You might be a very outgoing kid but when you grow up, you also grow more secluded and withdrawn. That kind of loss is loss as well. But! Let's not think of such things now. Off to lunch you go!" Madame Noire makes playful shooing motions with her hands and laughs slightly. Yet inside, she is thinking hard. |
Shannon gathers up her stuff and puts it in her bag. She says, "Thanks for the lesson, Professor!" and heads for the notice board to get the homework assignment. |
Catherine munches on the cookie and heads for the notice board. "Great lesson Professor!" she says |
Kali smiles and puts everything but her wand back into her bag. She then stands up and gets a cookie. "Yum. Thanks," she says "And thanks for the great lesson!" she says as she starts to walk towards the door. |
Ashlie nods swiftly and grabs her bag, walking off for the door. Perhaps her wand really had proved correctly after all. She shoved the thought away and headed for the Common Room. |
"Its not that I don't like my wand its just that...I wish I knew more about this wand before I bought it..."She said looking at her wand... |
"So what does the core have to do with anything?" She said...still looking at her wand. |
Nadia takes a cookie on her way out and runs off! "Thanks professor! Enjoyable class, looking forwards to next - I'll be considering those answers - Sorry now, I've to run^^" she calls. ooc: WizardGurl4ever, don't double-post (post many posts, one after the other); Ravenclaw_Seeker, that signature image is too long, change it before a mod does it for you. |
Birdy gathered her scattered rolls of parchment she had used for note taking. "Thank you professor, it was a great class," she told Madame Noire. She then swept from the classroom to go check the homework board. |
"WizardGurl4ever: The wand core reflects your personality's main aspects. Now, anymore questions will have to be asked after lunch. I'll most probably be hanging around in my office or the corridor, so you can find me there. The door is always open!" Madame Noire ushers the last students out before her and closes the door. |
