Lexy smiles brightly at Riiya Of course i don't mind! I haven't seen you in ages! |
Madame Noire skuttles back into the class, arms laden with piles of parchment. She enters just as lunano1's ink bottle smashes to the floor. "Oh dear," she mutters and flicks her wand. The mess vanishes. "There!" She makes quite a show of arranging the papers on her desk. When she is finished, she turns over to the now-silent class. "So. Perhaps a proper introduction to the course would be good. Ahem... Welcome to your first Charms class." I never was good at these, dead or alive! she thinks to herself. "So. So, so, so..." Madame Noire twirls a semi-transparent lock of hair around her finger. "To begin with, we'll be looking at your actual wands. They are naturally your most key ingredient in magic-making. Now, if you could all take out your wands and put them on your desks." There is a shuffle as the pupils dig around their bags and pockets for their wands. Between the commotion, Madame Noire says: "And also, turn your books to page 17, 'Wand Qualities', please." |
::genie follows the professor's instructions and is now waiting patiently for her fellow classmates to finish up as well:: |
Shannon quickly removes her wand from an inner pocket of her robes, and then takes her book out of her bag, turns it to page 17, and begins reading while she waits for further instructions. |
Riiya smiled at Lexy. as she hears the instruction, she turned to her bag and pulls out her Charms book. she opens it to page 17 and turns back to her bag to take out her wand. she places it carefully on the desk. Aged suple pine; 8 inches; with a phoenix feather. |
kagome walks in siently trying not to be noticed by anyone else and sits alone.she takes out her matierails and writes down something in a book.then kagome notices what everyone else is doing and does the same. |
Riiya turns to Lexy, and asks softly, "whats your wand specs, Lexy?" |
Jordan quickly sprinted to her charms class. SHe opened the door and saw Madame Noir at the front of the class. "Sorry Proffessor!" she said as she took her seat at the back with Kylie and Ray. She took out her wand and waited for instructions... |
Kagome also notices she is suppose to take her wand out so she did.after she wrote down in a book 10 inchs, oak, unicorn hair,i think |
Shannon begins looking up what her wand is good for. "Hmm...10 1/2 inches...cherry...phoenix feather..." |
Kagome finishes reading the whole chapter and looks around.she starts reading another chapter to be ahead of the class. |
When everyone is finished, Madame Noire walks over to hpfan142. "May I?" she asks, indicating towards her wand. After receiving a nod, she picks the wand up between her thumb and middle finger. Surveying it, she says: "oak, I presume, about ten inches long. What's inside?" |
"um a unicorn hair"kagome said to Madame Noire"thats what the person who sold it to me said." |
While the proffeseur was looking at her wand kagome got board so she diceded to play with her hair.first she turned it black, then green, orange, red, brown, black again and then curly red hair with black streaks. |
"Hmm. Unicorn." She stops to think for a bit, and then cracks a smile and turns to everyone. "Wands, as you might have already known, are not just chosen by the wizard, but rather they choose their carriers. Wands often reflect the user's personalities. Each wand is unique, as is every witch and wizard. Two wands can be made of the same wood, be of the same length and have the same core, but they are never quite, well, the same. As it is with identical twins: they may look alike, and to the naked eye they will often seem tantamount. But at closer encounter you will notice that they have different personalities. Take hpfan142's wand, for example. The unicorn hair indicates a certain purity, pride and endurance. It is also a symbol for analytical ability, which may sometimes lead to a slight lack of compassion. Wizards that prefer oak wands are often hospitable, independent and brave. The length - eight inches - is somewhat short. This is no loss though - at eight inches, this wand's carrier has a strong and honourable character. To summarise, we can assume by this wand that hpfan142 is a brave, determined witch with perhaps a love for art?" Madame Noire indicates the last sentence as a question and raises her eyebrows slightly, smiling at hpfan142. |
"well"kagome said"i am a little brave i guess and i love to draw.thats a aorta art.and i'm very detiermend in some stuff.well alot of stuff."kagome smiled then changed her hair back to the layered brown how it is usally. |
After taking out her wand Tegan watches the Professor with intrest as she examines hpfan142's wand. |
"wow..." Riiya said as she hears the Professor's explination. she then looked at her wand and wondered what does hers read... |
kagome sat back on her chair and tiped it backward.it went to back and it fell down with her on it"well i won't do that again"kagome said to herself and got quickly. |
"o professuer i need my wand back"kagome said"i have to leave early.bye"kagome picked up her wand and left |
"Excellent. Wands usually have one of three cores: unicorn hair, phoenix feather or dragon heartstring. Some others - like veela hair - might be used sometimes in specially made wands, but this is uncommon. It is safer to use one of the main three: wands with other cores might act in unpredictable ways and have greater chance at corrupting the user. Yes, corrupting. A good wizard's wand will aid him or her in good ways. But every wand has a dark side as well." Madame Noire rakes the class with her gaze, now solemn. Suddenly she shakes her head slightly, and the cheery look returns to her face. "But we aren't going to talk about that now. Back to wand corest. As you can see in your textbooks, this is what it says on the three main cores: Quote:
Bear in mind that this book simplifies things. It speaks in a broad manner. It does not mean that every person with a dragon heartstring-cored wand is a born leader." |
Riiya reads about her wand core. "mm..." she then looks at her wand. have great courage but may lack discretion?pioneers in the magical arts but are inclined to attempt new magics before completing the research necessary to guarantee success?... prefer to lead rather than follow? is that me? i never noticed. she then began to wonder about Veela hair being used as the core of wands. Ergh. being a Half-Veela, she found it discusting (sp?) but...she began to wonder, "Professor, what about Veela's hair?" Quote:

quickly writes that down ASAP- |
*Tegan thinks to herself, hmmm well mine is Unicorn, I guess it does fit pretty well* |
*Cass looks down at her wand a 12 inch, Mahogany and Holly wand with a Phoenix tail feather core. It had always felt a bit springy to her and she liked that. However, looking at the discription of her wands core she was surprised to see that it did resemble her in a way. I am energitic and at times a bit implusive she thought to herself. And I definately perfer to lead then follow. I guess you could say I'm couragious and I know I like to try new magic. * |
