 For those who belong in Gryffindor House, on the left side of the Great Hall is where your table awaits. Red banners containing an embroidered golden lion float above the polished table in honour of the brave Godric Gryffindor. Already placed on the tables are silver plates with accompanying cutlery and goblets. All that is missing right now are the mountains of food and pitchers containing your favourite beverages.
Though your stomach might be growling as you take a seat on one of the long benches next to the table, it is important to not get hangry -- gnawing your arm away or jabbing your fork repeatedly on the surface of the table will do no good whatsoever. Give everyone some time to get settled in and wait for Headmaster Winterbottom to deliver his speech. Keep yourself preoccupied by catching up with your fellow housemates or those who are visiting from the other tables until it is time to sink your teeth into the hearty and delicious meal prepared by the house-elves.

Summer had been pretty busy, but it had also been pretty good. The whole summer internship thing had cut into the time he could spend with friends, but he still scheduled out as much time for that as he could. Plus his younger brother and sister had gotten their wands and school supplies for their first year and thus had been on the train with him, which was weird, even if they'd made it abundantly clear they didn't want him to sit with them.
But even weirder was the fact that this was his seventh and final start of term feast at Hogwarts.
Ezra was trying not to think about that though. It made the whole NEWTs and Big-Decisions-about-what-to-do-after-Hogwarts too real and intimidating, and he didn't want to think about that right now.
With those thoughts shoved down into the back of his mind, he entered the Great Hall, walking toward the Gryffindor table by habit. His eyes were drawn to the Slytherin table, trying to spot where Bronwen had sat, but he hadn't found her in the sea of green by the time he reached his own table. He quickly took a seat, not paying attention to who he sat next to, and forced himself to look around the rest of the hall too, not wanting to seem like he was just staring at the Slytherins. There was also the sorting to watch too, and he was genuinely excited to see where Olive and Nathaniel ended up.

Even if one wasn’t excited for a new term of Hogwarts, it was hard not to feel the energy of the Start-of-Term feast and get swept up in it. That’s certainly what hit Nadia as she made her way through the entrance hall and passed the familiar double doors inro the Great Hall. Not that she had been dreading the upcoming term at all. The sound level rose drastically as she paused briefly to look around before making her way over to the Gryffindor table. There were fellow lions around though it was still early, they hadn’t gotten through any of the sortings.
Taking a seat along one side, Nadia let her gaze flicker to first to the Hufflepuff table to try and spot her twin and then to the Slytherin to find their brother. Truth be told, she spotted Briony first, but that just meant Ary was one place off. Ah to have such close companions to count on. Maybe this term the sixth year could relax a little and enjoy herself more.

It had been a long while since Charlie had been in the Great Hall, having had another little health blip in the middle of last term that had necessitated some time away from school. Summer had already started before he'd been deemed ready to return, which was of course way too late for him to see out the end of his third year.
Not that he was behind. Charlie had done all he'd needed to do to progress onto the fourth year, because he obviously wasn't going to allow the alternative to happen. It wasn't like it was hard, anyway.
The novelty of having the feast on the same day as his birthday had long since worn off. Actually, so had the novelty of his birthday in general; it was just sort of childish to get all worked up over that kind of thing. So, though today was also the day he turned fifteen, Charlie seemed supremely unconcerned by this, or by anything, as he entered the Hall and took a seat at the Gryffindor table. He glanced around at those who were already there, then propped his head in his hand and stared unseeingly towards the front of the Hall, looking bored.

While people watching as the Great Hall filled up more and more in wait for the feast, Nadia had gone quiet, but not out of teenage apathy. She was there watching the sortings and clapping for each new student, giving special enthusiasm for the incoming lions. House pride and all. Rawr… rawr…Gryffindor. But she must have zoned out at some point because the next thing she noticed was Headmaster Winterbottom standing up for the speech. That in and of itself wasn’t too exciting other than announcing food would follow which was certainly welcome after a day of traveling. The Forbidden Forest was forbidden, certain spells should only be done under supervision, and more of the like.
Until she heard one word that caught her attention.
Well two, but gobstones was more Dy’s cup of tea. Quidditch was all hers and they were gonna have the chance to tryout and play this term. To say Nadia was excited about the possibility of having quiditch for more of the year than just the summer was an understatement, a bright smile crossing her face. She may already by on the U-17 England team, but it would be different to finally follow her papa onto the Gryffindor house team. It looked like she wasn’t going to have the non-busy term without exams after all because she was going to do her darndest to make the team. But for now…dinner!
