Desiree strives to be the living embodiment of the Disney princesses she grew up watching: kind, graceful, and beautiful both inside and out. She shares her father’s generous, sensitive nature, though owing to her happier upbringing, she’s much more optimistic and outgoing than Gaston. She’s everybody’s friend, unless she has a very good reason not to be, but she’s not a pushover. She won’t hesitate to protect those she cares about and can become uncharacteristically vengeful when pushed too far (though it takes a lot for her to get to that point!).
Desiree is quite sophisticated for her age with many artistic talents. In addition to being classically trained in ballet and voice, she also enjoys baking, knitting, fashion design, and playing the piano. But don’t let her traditionally girly interests fool you - she’s no ditz! Although she tends to lose focus in subjects that don’t interest her, she enjoys learning to the point that she can be overconfident, sometimes cocky, in her knowledge of certain subjects.

History

Desiree is the only biological child of two former Hogwarts professors, Rosalyn and Gaston Marchand. She was so named because it was Gaston’s greatest desire to be a father, and the name Desiree means “desired”. She is truly her father’s daughter in many ways, strongly resembling Gaston in looks and personality. That fact was apparent since Desiree’s birth. On that cold December day, Gaston cried with joy, and Desiree cried with him, only stopping when he did.
For the first two years of Desiree’s life, her dad was a professor at Hogwarts. She and her mum lived nearby in Hogsmeade, where he would visit them on the weekends. When she was a year old, Gaston was injured defending the school from an Inferi attack. The resulting scarring changed his appearance, leaving Desiree frightened and unable to recognize him. To help her understand what had happened, her Mémé (grandma) gave her a special present for her 2nd birthday: a doll of the Prince from Beauty and the Beast (Desiree’s favorite fairytale) with dark hair, blue eyes, and scars like Gaston’s.
Following Gaston’s departure from Hogwarts, Desiree noticed the change in her dad’s personality but was too little to understand what had happened. The Marchands moved from Scotland to Cookham, England and not long after that adopted a French boy named Adam Beaulieu. Desiree did not like sharing her parents’ attention and acted bratty and hostile toward Adam at first, but she warmed up to him when she saw how happy he made her parents.
Desiree showed her first signs of magical ability at the age of five, when she made a toy mouse move on its own while playing with the family cat. Having parents who believed the importance of a creative outlet, she grew up immersed in the arts and developed a talent for ballet. She attended a muggle primary school where she had decent marks and a circle of friends, but she longed to go to Hogwarts and see the place where her parents met firsthand. She got her chance when her acceptance letter arrived on her eleventh birthday.
When the big day arrived, Desiree hoped to be sorted into Gryffindor, of which her father was once Head of House, but she went to Hufflepuff instead. She spent her first two years at Hogwarts laying low and not engaging with anyone/anything that looked suspicious, as per her dad’s advice, but staying out of trouble wasn’t enough to save her in her third year.
That year, she was accosted by Peeves and given the “power” of random wombat transformations. For the girl who prided herself on being the living embodiment of a beautiful DIsney princess, this was probably the worst thing he could do! The uncontrollable transformations affected her self-esteem and changed her worldview. She saw how fleeting outer beauty was and began to seriously question her ambitions of a career in ballet or opera, both of which placed importance on appearances. Changed by her experiences, she gave up her ambition of becoming a ballerina and decided she wanted to be a healer instead.
Desiree’s fourth and fifth years were mostly uneventful. She focused on her studies and improving her marks in DADA and Potions, two of her worst subjects which were required for further healer studies. Her fifth year brought OWL exams and the added pressure of a school job fair. She worked hard throughout the term, participating in a mock job interview and preparing an outfit for the fair. As the date of the job fair drew closer, Desiree, who had always hoped to see her father return to Hogwarts, was proud to see her dad among the guests. She took her OWLs at the end of the term and passed all but one, surprising even herself with an O in DADA and Potions.
During Desiree’s sixth year, she noticed several students and professors, many of whom she’d know for years, acting strangely. She was confused and concerned for her friends but had no clue what had caused the sudden changes in personality until she overheard the ramblings of a school portrait, Elizabeth Burke. Desiree helped her fellow students and professors discover the true nature of the mirror on the fourth floor and return the affected to their usual selves.

Anna is a very energetic and spirited young maiden where everything is an adventure and life a page out of a storybook thanks to her vivid and forever running rampant imagination and if you so much as make eye contact with her it is assumed that you are now a friend. Easily excitable and an adorer of all things rainbow and also really likes remembralls , she is long run-on sentence personified. A very curious kitten, Anna is both excited by mystery while simultaneously disliking it and thus she seeks out understanding or will gather just enough information to make up an understanding that is sufficient and satisfactory to her. This is rooted in the mystery that is her heritage and not knowing her birth dad nor anything about him. Anna therefore tends to make up stories as to where her birth dad is and usually paints him like a dashing hero sort of persona. She tends to revisit the version where her dad is a curse breaker turned pirate and his life style is so dangerous and he gets involved with people and items that are coveted so he left her mother in order to protect them both. In basically every version, birth dad left because it was too dangerous for her and her mother if he stayed so he sacrificed his happiness to keep them safe. Anna is also a bit of a pack rat and has her pockets full of something or another - one day it may be acorns, another stones and pebbles, another bits of torn parchment...it is all contingent on her mood and what fantasy world she woke up into.

Dylan and Aspen as parents are pretty normal and don't spoil their children much, but Emma has never had a problem getting exactly what she wants. She's their miracle baby, after all. Meaning that Ambrose and Malachi were planned but then something happened that led them to believe that they couldn't have anymore children. So when Aspen got pregnant with Emma, Dylan was an emotional mess. He's a retired Appleby Arrowhead quidditch player who went on to become a gifted neurosurgeon. Aspen is a deeply mysterious character who became deeply involved in the government (read: hit witch). They weren't parents right away, due to problem's on Dylan's end. Dylan's father was a squib. They have several super close family friends - Oakey and Ariana Gunter top of the list. And actual family members include West Odessa, Chris and Charlie Montmorency.
They used to live in a very nice house in the heart of London, but after having babies, Dylan moved them to a place with a beautiful backyard and lots of space for pets and activities ... quidditch mostly. Though Ambrose is deathly afraid of heights, Malachi has no such issues and really uses it to "train" .... Emma will probably also be into quidditch, but it's hard to know at this time...

SPOILER!!: First Year
While disappointed her brothers had both graduated before she could experience Hogwarts with them, Emma quickly adapted to representing the Montmorency brood. Although she got off to a rough start at the opening feast by overreacting about a garden spider at the Hufflepuff table, she quickly recovered from the outburst (hopefully). Between educating chastising Sloane for eating on the quidditch pitch, to learning about the Whomping Willow from Ezra (including tossing a rock at it to see it "in action"), her first year was nothing short of adventurous. She rounded out her first year after learning about Elizabeth Burke, despite Logan Paton's warnings and with Desiree's guidance she helped uncover the truths of why several professors, students and house elves were acting strangely.

History:
Tapio was born in a small village in the province of Friesland in The Netherlands, the second son of a Dutch father and a Finnish mother. Although the inhabitants of Friesland (formerly known as Frisia) were historically known for their height, Tapio, at seven feet tall, is considered above the norm. Neither his parents nor any of his three siblings were unusually tall, so Tapio, with his height, his large hands and feet, and his angular features, has always stood out. When he was a child, he was teased by the other children for his appearance, although they stopped when he got big enough to challenge them. His parents did not approve of the curriculum or atmosphere of Durmstrang, so they sent their children to Koldovstoretz in Russia. There Tapio excelled at Herbology and Charms, and upon graduation, he served an internship at the Hortus Botanicus in Leiden, The Netherlands. This is a famous garden area among Muggles and Wizards alike, although the section containing magical plants is hidden from Muggle eyes by protective charms. Tapio continued working there as a gardener for several years after he completed his internship and then took a position as Herbologist at the Göttingen Alchemical Institute. During his tenure there, he met Isla Fraiser, a magical naturalist from Scotland who was at the Institute on sabbatical. They fell in love and eventually got married, after which Tapio moved to Scotland to work as a caretaker at the IMPA (Important Magical Plants Area) located in the Cairngorn Mountains. They had two sons, Fraser and Acton, who are now grown and pursuing higher education. When their youngest son Acton left to attend university, Tapio and Isla decided to downsize their home and moved to Fritham, Hampshire in England, which is located within the New Forest area. Isla has become newly active in her field and often goes on expeditions to find and study magical plants and animals, while Tapio took advantage of a vacancy in Herbology at Hogwarts and became a professor there. He is also the school librarian and Head of House for Hufflepuff.

Tapio learned early on that his great size and angular features often intimidate others, so he has cultivated a very gentle demeanor, reluctant to give offense. He is gentle, patient, with a wry sense of humor. He is slow to anger, though he can be fiercely protective of those he loves or who are in his care if needed. He is both trustworthy and trusting, and he assumes others are also honest and straightforward, so he is sometimes vulnerable to deceit, although with experience he has learned to be less easily taken advantage of. He is deeply committed to his family and enjoys the outdoors and a simple, quiet life.

Personal History:
Maria’s parents Antoinette and Kingston divorced within a year of her birth. They hoped her arrival would mend their relationship, but it didn’t work out. So they have joint custody over Maria. Maria stayed primarily with her mum and summers with her dad. Her mother remarried in 2102 when Maria was six years old. She gets along alright with her stepfather. Over the years her mum and stepfather’s work increased and Maria started to feel lonely and began talking and exchanging letters with her father more often. Since her father Kingston now lives comfortably with working at the ministry her mother agreed that she could live with her father in order to attend Hogwarts. Maria gained a new little brother in january 2107 which was another reason for her to live with her father so she can get acquainted and used to being a big sister. Her fathers partner Jerald treats Maria kindly and respectfully.
