If it is your life's ambition to explore every nook and cranny of the school, then odds are you have made the long walk up one of the tallest towers of the castle and stumbled upon a door with no knob. On it is just a simple bronze eagle knocker. This may be a disappointment to some because all of that climbing had been for nothing. Ravenclaws, however, know that this door is very special because behind it is their very airy common room.

Anyone can, of course, approach the knocker and try to get in. After all, to get by you only need to provide an answer to one of its riddles. This will only cause more disappointment to the overconfident non-Ravenclaws who think they can break into the common room at any time. The riddles that the knocker is awaiting answers for aren't exactly easy. Those belonging in the house of Rowena Ravenclaw should be able to answer with ease. Regardless of who answers, if the answer is incorrect the door will not open and you'll be left standing outside until someone comes along with the right answer.

Shh! Tell no one but Ravenclaws were Schmoop’s favorite studentsies! For reasons known to himself & a select few the little wittle elfsie also like tending to that House’s Tower & Common Room. It would explain why he was present at the Bronze Knocker today with a brand new brush in one small elfsie hand.

Schmoop sang to himself as he worked. The elfsie hoped he would meet a Ravenclaw studentsie or two during this time. There was hope in his heart that they could dance and sing together!

Oh my GOODNESS, Molly just LOVED being in Ravenclaw house. It was without doubt the best out of the four but that was merely because SHE was placed there, and she knew diddly squat about the others and their attributes. All she DID know, was that Ravenclaw students excelled in looks, smarts and fashion sense.

She hoped today’s riddle was about fashion.

Molly skipped towards the bronze knocker and was positively ecstatic to stumble across a house elf polishing it. What luck she had to meet one of the hardworking care takers that made this castle such a wondrous place to live. Molly slowed her skip but not until she was very close to the creature and she could take in all of its details, including his PROP.

“That’s a handy brush!” She commented with a big grin. “Hello!” That, too.

Alissa hummed to herself as she made her way back to the Ravenclaw common room. She was enjoying being back at Hogwarts, catching up with people she hadn't seen all summer and being able to use magic again. She couldn't wait until she turned seventeen and could use magic at home. But it wouldn't be for a while now. She had just barely turned fifteen. An August birthday meant that she tended to be younger then many of her classmates, and wouldn't be of age until right before she started her seventh year. Until then she would just have to content herself with reading over the summer and waiting to practice until she was back at school.

Being at school of course meant that she'd had to leave behind Cam, which she of course was never too pleased about and she knew upset them greatly. The best she could do was promise to write as much as possible. She was composing her next letter in her mind as she approached the common room and the two small figures standing in front of it. One was a first year that she remembered from the sorting (only vaguely, she couldn't be expected to remember all of them), and the other was a house elf.

"Hello!" Alissa came to a stop and gave them both a bright smile. "How's it going out here?"

Brush brush. Clean clean. Schmoop was a very happy elfsie right now. This new brush was a marvelous object. At some point in his singing Schmoop utterly forgot the words to the song and so he improvise by filling in the gaps with words that necessarily did not make sense. Schmoop’s concentration on the cleaning task and improvising that it was only until the girl (Molly) was close to him did he take a pause in singing and cleaning. “Hello, Miss!’’ Schmoop bowed low. “Tis my new brush!’’ Schmoop smiled toothily and held the brush at her to examine.

Soon after Schmoop was bowing again this time to an older girl (Alissa). “Hello to you Miss! Would you like to see my new brush?” Without waiting for an answer Schmoop waved the brush happily again. “It will help Schmoop cleansie better!’’ The bat-like ears flapped as Schmoop nodded vigorously.

Ahhhhh, another Ravenclaw to join the party. Molly beamed, although was still quite shy around the older students. She had too much respect for them and didn’t want to annoy them with her occasional exuberance. “Hello!” She said to Alissa.

Her fingers wiggled in the air as she prepared herself to take hold of the brush to examine herself. A bit forward but the little house elf wouldn’t mind, would he???! BUT… the creature was soon showing the other Ravenclaw instead. She didn’t mind so much.

“You look like you’re having fun today, Schmoop!” What a cute name for a cute lil guy. “Do you need some help?” PLEASE SAY YES.

Alissa smiled at the house elf when they showed her the brush. "That is a very nice brush," she agreed. "And everything around here looks so shiny and clean so it must work very well." She smiled over at the younger Ravenclaw. She looked like she'd wanted to touch the brush, and Alissa wouldn't want to stand in the way of that. "Do you always clean around Ravenclaw, Schmoop? Thank you for doing that, all of the students appreciate it very much." She didn't think that the house elves got thanked as much as they deserved, so she wanted to make sure she said it. She didn't like cleaning, and it was so nice to have someone else take care of it. So she definitely appreciated them.

Schoomp intended to show both studentsies the new brushy! Yes he did! It would be only him who would actually use it though. Schoomp was rather protective of each and every brush owned by himself. “I am! Cleaning is fun! Baking is fun! Cooking is fun!” Here Schmoop did a little twirl. “Singing is fun! Dancing is fun! Everything is fun! Would you like to sing and dance with me? We can clean afterwards!”

“Thank you, Miss!” Schmoop beamed toothily then dropped in a grateful bow to Alissa. “The Ravenclaw tower is where I mainly clean. I love Ravenclaws.” Here he nodded so frantically that his ears flapped. “Tis my pleasure to help Ravenclaws feel at home.” Every student but mainly Ravenclaws. “Sing and dance with us, Miss.” Schmoop’s brush pointed to himself then to Molly. Quite the distracted little elf Schmoop was. Cleaning can wait a little longer.

Molly started to uncontrollably giggle like a little kid. Well, she was a little kid. The house elf was just sooooo cute and its good mood was infectious.

Wait, Schmoop was asking her to dance?!

SQUEAK.

“Oh, I would love to dance with you!” She replied excitedly, then started to twirl and raise her arms in the air. Barely a few moments had passed and she suddenly felt that this was a bit WEIRD and random. The little Ravenclaw slowed her movement down into a halt, glancing to the other girl as she felt quiet embarrassed, but she remained giggling all the same.

“Do you ever clean for the other houses?” Molly was a little bit trying to get the scoop on why Schmoop loved Ravenclaw so much. Besides the OBVIOUS things, of course. Schmoop scoop.

No no! It was little Molly’s giggles that were infectious! Soon Schmoop’s hand was over his mouth. He was trying not to be too loud. It wouldn’t be nice if a professor came along to scold him or the studentsies. Schmoop most likely would have carried on giggling but Molly wanted to dance with him!!!!! Schmoopsies was quite delighted!!

“Miss has lovely dance moves!’’ Schmoop squealed. To show how much his free spirit admired Miss’ moves Schmoop copied them. Hands over his little head he twirled and he twirled, twirled, twirled until he was dizzy.

His movements slowed until he came to a stop. But Schmoop swayed on the spot. He saw Molly and Alissa but multiple copies of them. “Er,” he began. The elfsie did not understand the question in his present state.
