| | |  The Domes

A little way off the path between the castle and the lake stand several half-sphere outdoor shelters, known as the domes. Made from a sturdy and clear, charmed material that keeps the temperature inside relatively comfortable, and the air fresh, the main purpose of the domes is a location to hang out, alone or with a few friends. They also serve as impromptu shelters during sudden downpours, cool relief from the summer heat, or a place to warm benumbed fingers and toes during bitingly cold winters. Each is accessible by a simple door made of the same material. No need to reserve them - just make sure no one is already there before entering!
The domes are near to each other, but not clustered too close together. They are completely transparent; those outside can see in, and those inside can see out. Occupied domes will light up - though the light has no obvious source - useful and downright cosy on overcast or gloomy days. The groundskeeper, and any staff member looking out of the windows on this side of the castle, will be able to see the domes if they're lit up after dark, so unless you want to light the 'hey, look at me, I'm out after curfew' beacon, best not to come this way after hours. Tapio would rather not have to take House Points from rulebreakers (but he will).
Each dome contains five comfortable chairs, and can comfortably hold as many students, maybe a couple more if you don't mind a tight squeeze. Try to refrain from seeing how many students can fit inside one of these things at once. Getting a score of kids hopelessly stuck will not have a good outcome for anyone, but it's up to you if you want to test that theory out for yourself. | |

Wow... a third year, she couldn't believe she was a third year and a teenager. No more being treated like a kid, she was a teenager now for Merlin stakes! Although she was far from graduating Hogwarts by far she couldn't help but to thank about how things will be different from now on, will things be getting harder now she was getting older? Her mind wondering she headed towards the grounds her feet leading her like they knew where they were going. Looking at the domes she bit her lip before deciding to stop for a bit seeing how it was still a of a breather besides the lake was probably packed and she didn't like pack places.
Humming to herself Cassie took the middle dome walking into it looking around it in interest. She wondered why she didn't come here sooner, it was pretty cool perhaps with the Professors permission look at the stars out here one of these nights. Summoning a little blanket and pillow she laid down on the blanket letting the nice fresh air calm her down. Maybe just maybe one of her friends would see her and join, or maybe she'll meet someone new who knows. As of right now she didn't mind being alone, maybe she'll take a little nap here who knows.

Anna loved most things about the Hogwarts grounds and there was something extra special about them this year since the gentle giant that was her head of house had taken up the mantle of groundskeeper this term. It was just nice, comforting, to know that his touch was everywhere. One of the days, she was certain, she was going to slip up and call him grandpa. She wouldn't be too embarrassed if she did though, it was a sign of comfort and admiration to accidentally call someone such a thing...right?
Right.
In any case, Anna was skipping about the grounds and attempting the occasional somersault (of which she was terrible at) when her haphazard path brought her to the domes. She had been here a couple of times though not all that often - it tended to be a location that slipped her mind for one reason or another, usually because she was laying down elsewhere and looking up at the clouds while grass tickled her ears.
"Hello!" she chirped with a wave as she skipped on by a dome where someone (she couldn't see who) was laying down all snuggly inside.

Lost in her own thoughts and own little world, she was snapped back to reality hearing a cheery friendly voice. Setting up to see the girl she waved happily to her, maybe a bit more cheery but she was glad to have some company. "Hello! Such a perfect day you wanna join me?" Tilting her head in curiosity she hoped she'll join her. She needed some friends and get out of her shell a lot more.
"Oh so rude of me, I'm Cassidy; Cassidy Raine but you can call me Cassie or Cas or any nickname you can think of!" Seeing that she probably talked too much for the other girls liking so she kept silence taking some cookies her mother sent her from home, she loved the house elves cooking but her mother homemade cookies are to die for. "You want a cookie? They're made by my mother from home. " Taking another bite she did a little happy wiggle as the chocolate melted in her mouth.

SO... so so so so soooooooo... Anna knew OF this slightly younger Ravenclaw Miss because Anna's bestie just so happened to also be a third year Ravenclaw so by proxy adjacent observations and some other fancy words she wasn't quite able to weave together now the Hufflepuff probably kind of sort of knew this girl. Maybe. Anna also carried around a broken remembrall to help her remember things so...anyway!
"Oh, sure!" she chirped in response as her skipping trajectory changed entirely so she could properly accept the invitation. "Oh, not rude at all. I've had hour or more so long conversations without introducing myself to the other person or them to me and even then I didn't think it rude. You're doing so right away so I reckon that by social constructions and etiquette you are right on par with being polite and accommodating." Nicknames though and offering Anna of all Hogwartians to create whatever nickname she fancied for her...well...eventually Miss Cassidy was in for a treat. Her more recently titles bestowed upon friends included Astronomical Champion Hand Holder, Fairy Godmother of High Fashion, Compassion, and Cute Ankles, and Dazzling Grin Ezra of the Cloudchasers. It took the bubbly curly hair girl a prolonged moment looking at the homemade offerings to remember that when someone introduced themselves to you the polite thing was to introduce yourself back. "I'm Anna, Anna Walles. Most people just call me Anna though or sometimes Pirate Princess." The latter not entirely being the crystal clear truth but nor was it an outright lie. She wasn't sure anyone reaaaaaaally called her anything other than Anna - so it was delightful that she liked her name plenty. "Are you sure you want to share something so precious with me?" she inquired as she leaned forward with her palms pressed firming on her crisscrossed applesauce seated knees. But also... "What kind are they?"

Cassie didn't know many people other then Xander and Brandon somewhat but she wanted to expand her reign of friends from all years. She had nicknames her family gave her but other then that she didn't have any cool nicknames like others did. She wanted a cool nickname, but she didn't want any mean ones but she knew that was unavoidable at times. People weren't always the nicest at times, she learned that from her muggle school she went to for a bit and learned not everyone was nice. She was a small town farm girl, never did she expect she was magic or going to a magical school.
Cassie giggled. " Wow an hour? That sounds funny though, imagine if you went all day without knowing each other! Still giggling at the thought of going all day without kmowing anyone but having so much fun it slipped your mind. "Nice to meet ya Anna, ooh... Pirate Princess?! How cool is that? How did you get that cool nickname?" She knew she was probably asking to many questions but she was curious very curious indeed. Cassie nodded. " Of course, my mama loved when people eat her cookies makes her feel happy!" She knew her mama would make batches of cookies for the family and neighbors around the area, so she knew it wasn't no biggie. "All kinds, from chocolate chip to sugar cookies!" There were so many different kinds even she didn't know them all!

The irony! Brandon, assuming that this was the same Brandon because Brandon could be a pretty common name depending on where you were, was the owner of the Astronomical Champion Hand Holder. Not that he actually knew that and it was more what she called him in her head ever since the Astronomy lesson where people had said that the moon was GONE when it really was not but she had completely panicked in misunderstanding.
"Yeah...I mean...sometimes with the flow of conversation is going so well you don't think about dropping your name in the middle of it like a rock and totally disturb the stream." At least that was how she thought about things sometimes...or didn't think about it, truth be told. It was an explanation that just kind of came to her right now in the moment. Maybe it was because Anna always ordained people with nicknames that actual names did not carry as much weight in her thoughts - that seemed rather probably. "Because my daddy is a pirate," she replied cheerfully. "He had to leave when I was just a baby because there was something very important he and his crew had to find out there somewhere on the seven seas. He'll come back once he has found it. Mum doesn't like to talk about it...probably because the severity of the mission and the dangers that await those who seek the treasure...or him...and she is with dad now but I know he is still out there somewhere and he'll come back once the curse is lifted." She paused to think a bit more. "And also I was a Pirate Fairy for the Muggle Studies party last term...but that is kind of more of the cherry on top of the ice cream sundae that represents my life."
Anna's smile widened as she looked over the array of cookies. So many options made it hard to decide which to take. "Your mum really came prepared to bake," she giggled before settling on a sugar cookie to start. Simple but with simple came a purity of flavor that sometimes it was just best not to muddy. She had learned all about things with too much flavor from the adventurous ice cream tasting with Solomon. "Thank you," she beamed before taking a fun sized bite from the cookie. "Is your mum a baker or is it a hobby?"
