Right beside the barn lies a newer looking small shed that Professor Paton utilizes for her office/living quarters. The woman installed the outbuilding in order to be closer to the creatures should her presence be needed.
Next to the door is a sign on the wall instructing any visitors to knock. Depending upon the weather, Professor Paton will either come join you outside to sit on one of the rocking chairs and chat or invite you inside for a cup of tea. If permitted inside, one would be greeted with a large room, much larger than what the outside hints, primarily an off-white color with green accents around the rooms. There's a large desk where she does all of her lesson planning and grading papers. Behind the desk is a large comfy chair and in front of it are two matching ones for guests. There's also a large bookshelf off to the side. A multitude of photos of her family adorns the walls, magical and mundane alike. No, it isn't you at all, for some of those faces in the photos are rather quite familiar, aren't they?
So please, if you’re here for questions or just a visit, give a knock on the door and Professor Paton will be with you shortly.
OOC: Professor Paton does have a crup named Beans that is often inside the cabin as well as her very beloved albino python Amie. Feel free to have your character notice one/or both of them and/or react to them if you like if they are invited inside!

It was the last day of the first school week and Ary was finally able to visit Aunty Hady’s office. More than that, he was looking for some quiet after a hectic week of manoeuvring around the vast Castle, falling into a smooth flow of his timetable and generally, adjusting to life off of the Reserve; a life which he already missed. Thankfully, there was Drake to help with that. It was the other eleven year old who had suggested the boys push their beds together that first evening so they wouldn’t have trouble falling asleep. Ary was also thankful for all the familiar faces to help him adjust: his sisters, Bry, Logan, Nova, Melody, Keighley and the rest of Bry’s cousins. But mostly, there was his Aunt. She may not be biologically his aunt but Ary loved her as if she were related to him by blood, and as much as he loved his Aunty Sanjana.
Reaching the office, Ary knocked on it thrice. While he waited to see if Hady would come to the come, he also looked around at the surroundings just in case she was out here. It was a nice day to be outside after all. The Slytherin fidgeted with the bag strung over his left shoulder. Absently, he thought that he wouldn’t mind it if they sat on rocking chairs either.

Unfortunately for her sweet nephew, Hady wasn't inside her office right then when he knocked on the door. She just so happened to have been finishing up tending to the creatures in the Reptile Room. Sometimes this was a quick and easy task, other days, it.. was not. Even the smallest, sweetest looking creatures could be testy when they wanted to be. Which is why rather than head start to the barn to continue her work, Hady headed back towards her office for a small break. Some coffee perhaps would be nice right now.

Ary was not surprised as he turned to face her, his lips turning upwards in a smile. “To see your place,’’ he began, quite truthfully but then hesitating a little. There was something he wanted to talk about and Hady was the only adult here at Hogwarts he knew he could always count on in the absence of his fathers. Well, there was Uncle Frankie, Uncle Henric, Aunty Ilia, Aunty Lux and the rest of the Atreyu-Rehman’s family- friends but Hady was the only one he wanted to talk to right now, anyway. "And to talk to you.
“Um. Out here is fine. Iced tea if you have any, please.” Aryan set his bag down next to one of the rocking chairs before planting himself on that chair. A soothing breeze hit him in the face, and in that moment, Ary knew he had made the right choice. Besides, the view was lovely as well. While waiting for Hady to get back, he withdrew a paperclip from his pocket so that a creation could be worked on.

Her nephews sweet smile was what kept her own smile in place. "Did you? Well you're welcome anytime to come see my little place. I like to think that it's very comfortable." She had many photos and other items inside her little office cabin that made it from homely. "Alright, I'll only be but a moment. Let me get us those drinks while you make yourself comfortable and then we can talk." Hady opened the door and went inside her office, allowing Beans the crup to go on out and sit on the porch with Aryan while she went over to the fridge. She got herself an ice coffee and a glass of iced tea for Ary.
With the drinks in hand she joined the first year back outside, having a seat on the rocking chair beside him. "Here you go. A cold glass of iced tea." She held the glass out to him letting him finish with his paperclip creation first. "What is it that you wanted to speak with me about?"

Oh, Ary knew this, and he had been reminded by Dad Adi about this fact: he could talk to Aunty Hady about anything. He gave her a fond smile; she was always so welcoming, not just to him. While she was gone, Ary continued to keep himself busy with the clip and with enjoying what nature had to offer. It was very, very relaxing here. Ary was already thinking that he needed to come out here more whenever he was feeling stressed.
He heard the scamper of paws over the wooden floor and looked down to see Beans scampering towards him. “Hi, Beans!’’ Abandoning the paperclip for now, Ary slid onto the floor to throw his arms around the crup. The Slytherin remained sitting on the floor when Hady returned. “Thank you.” He finished off the paperclip design, glad to have a creature companion by his side. This one was simple: it was a little rattlesnake, made by two green paperclips. With that, Ary was finally able to take the glass but was silent for a moment while he tried to put his words together. “I’m struggling,’’ he finally said. “To adjust to living at Hogwarts.”

Little Mister Aryan's dad Adi was right, he could talk to her about anything. Anyone could. Even if she didn't think she could help with the situation, Hady was a great listener. Being there for those that needed her went beyond just being a professor. He was welcome to come sit here anytime he liked to help himself relax.
Hadleigh smiled softly as she watched Ary move from the chair to the wooden floor so he could sit with Beans. That crup had such a calming effect on most everyone he met. "You're very welcome." Letting the young Slytherin take his time and speak when he was ready, Hady took a sip of her own drink before cradling the cup between her hands.Ah, yes. She had been told of this through a former mirror call with his father who was still one of her best friends even after all of these years. "It's alright that you are, not everyone takes to Hogwarts immediately. This is a very very big change, isn't it? Being away from the reserve and your dads. Should we talk about what's the hardest part? Get that out of the way, hm?" Which they got the bad out of the way then she could talk with him about all of the good things he liked here at Hogwarts.

Bryony, well she was always clingy when it came to him but she supposed it had gotten worse when they moved. "It's not at all about trying harder, it takes time is all. It will get better and if it doesn't, I want you to let me know." They would certainly have to figure something else out if he wasn't adjusting at all as time passed.
A soft smile graced her lips as they spoke of her youngest. "That's a special trait of hers I'm sure. She likes seeing you happy. A happy Aryan meant a happy Bryony. That much she was always sure of. He could see that he had surprised Hady with his question. It was okay if she couldn’t provide an answer, he thought as he hugged Beans again. It probably was a weird question to ask to begin with. “No, she hasn’t. I was just wondering if she meant it.” He shrugged thoughtfully. “I mean, I only just started wondering if it's something I have to be for her. I like being her friend, which takes a lot of energy to be by keeping up with her.” This was meant in the best of ways.
“I’ll be here tomorrow morning if that’s okay?” Ary was excited to get started! “I know you will.” He finished his iced tea before giving Beans another hug. “I’d better get going. Thank you for everything,’’ he said, getting to his feet.

He could see that he had surprised Hady with his question. It was okay if she couldn’t provide an answer, he thought as he hugged Beans again. It probably was a weird question to ask to begin with. “No, she hasn’t. I was just wondering if she meant it.” He shrugged thoughtfully. “I mean, I only just started wondering if it's something I have to be for her. I like being her friend, which takes a lot of energy to be by keeping up with her.” This was meant in the best of ways.
“I’ll be here tomorrow morning if that’s okay?” Ary was excited to get started! “I know you will.” He finished his iced tea before giving Beans another hug. “I’d better get going. Thank you for everything,’’ he said, getting to his feet.
Hady did her best to keep an eye on Bryony and her clingy little self. Her daughter was quite the handful, she knew this. Yet, Aryan was one of the very few people even at his young age that could handle her. Should that girl ever become overly clingy, all he had to do was let her know and she would handle it. Much like how she would help him with any other problems that might come his way. "I hope you don't need me for that but I'm always here should you need me." The next time they spoke she hoped to hear that he was faring at least a little better than today.
"I know that you and you do a wonderful job at doing so." She smiled softly at him. Oh, thank Merlin! Bryony really didn't need to be pestering Aryan about these things at their tender ages. Hady nodded slowly in understanding. It was Ary's following words that had her crinkling up her brow and frowning ever so slightly. "Absolutely not. Whether Bry means it or not, it's not something you have to do. You don't have to do anything you don't want to do for her, especially being her boyfriend even if it makes her happy. That's something you should only do because you want to, because you like one another. Not because you feel the need to, alright?" Oh, goodness her! This sweet sweet boy!
As for her daughter being a lot to keep up with, she knew. "Yes, I know. And you ever feel bad about telling her that you need some time for yourself." It was okay for him to be his own person and have his own friends. Sorry Bryony.
"Of course it is. All the creatures and I will be waiting," Hady laughed softly. "You're very welcome. Go on and have a good day now."

It had not gone unnoticed by Ary in his eleven years of life that he was among the handful of persons who knew how to handle Bry when she was in one of her tantrum throwing moods {and any other mood, really}. He had no clue how he did it but was grateful all the same for the ability. “I will always remember that, Aunty Hady.” He gave her a warm smile.
“I try.” Ary was being honest. If Bry had been pestering him, it was something he never noticed. His bestie was never bothersome. The advice and words with regard to his question was welcomed. He mulled them over silently, feeling a bit of relief. Hady was right with all that she said. Ary had only felt friendship love for Bry and wasn’t sure if that would change. Bry seemed sure that it would though, and she knew him better than anyone else. “I’ll keep that in mind. I feel reassured now because I’ve only recently started wondering if it’s something she expects of me.”
Ary eyed his aunt in surprise. Take a break from Bry? The thought had never occurred to him. “I never found the need to take a break from her but if a situation comes up and I do, I’ll take your advice.” He really appreciated Hady’s honesty. As he departed, Ary turned and blew her a kiss. The woman was like another parent to him and he loved her so much for it.

Everyone had someone in their life that was a calming presence to them. Aryan was that person when it came to her daughter Bryony, Hady knew that much. "Then everything will be alright, as long as you always remember that you have people that care for you."
"I know that you and I'm sure that she does as well." His connection with Bry was seen by everyone. At least that's how she saw it. Either way she still wanted to do her best to help Ary with whatever he was currently feeling. "Feelings such as those should be mutual otherwise it isn't fair to either one of you, alright? And keep in mind that you are both in your first year, there is no rush." Please. Take many many years before deciding anything. Until they were fifty sounded good to her.
That look of surprise made her smile softly at him as did his words that followed. "It makes me happy to hear that but it never hurts to know that you can should you need to." As she watched her sweet nephew walk away, the little kiss that was blown her way was 'captured' as was every kiss all the kids ever blow towards her. Yes, she was that type of mama 'aunty' bear.
