Etta was very excited for today’s assignment! Being half muggle she was somewhat familiar with the VHS and VCR concept but had never worked the console before. It was mostly the remastered versions of the films she was familiar with. So this was going to be an adventure!

Henrietta was elated that her friend Ezra Greenwood would be joining her in watching the 1995 muggle masterpiece, Casper. The youngling was all about a theme and she chose to recreate an outfit worn by the female lead in the movie to better enjoy the film. Well, in her opinion.

With ticket stub in hand she made her way inside…WOW! The theater was fascinating! Sure, she’s been to a cinema back home a few times during her time with foster grandma, but this felt even cooler. From the fresh and clean scent of the room, to the leather seating, to all the tech, this was thrilling! Her attention cut to the snack bar, the buttery smell of the popcorn made Etta's mouth water instantly. Henrietta wasted no time and marched straight to the snack bar!

Ary found himself, yet again, wondering how he had managed to get stuck watching The NeverEnding Story. No, he wasn’t complaining; he just had watched it a zillion times already that he could recite the lines quite effortlessly. In fact, he planned to do just that, in the necessary tone of voices of the actors so that he could provide a little extra entertainment to his movie buddy.

He entered the theatre, marvelling at the set up immediately. Of course, he had visited theatres before but not as frequently. Who needed to when there was a television in his room along with multiple streaming channels? After checking out the theatre, Ary moved over to the VCR. He knew about the instrument even if he had not operated one by himself. The labelled buttons would be useful though.

The boy looked around for his friend. “Think we can manage it?’’ he asked mildly.

Aurora wasn’t actually a Muggleborn, in fact both her mothers were former Hogwarts students and therefore she technically wasn’t even half, but she did know a lot about Muggle culture and so was more than happy to share her expertise with her closest friends.

By that she meant Anna who then obviously asked half of the school to join them in their little viewing party disguised as an ‘assignment’. Not that she minded about the extra numbers, she was of the opinion that the more friends she could accumulate the better. The only concern being that this Ravenclaw was very easily distracted and there may be more chatting and consumption of snacks than actual watching of the film. She had picked the Princess Bride with the knowledge that it was an old film (positively ancient in her eyes) that contained a Princess for her and the sense of adventure that both she and Anna craved. Oh and Pirates, Anna loved those. Whether the boys would enjoy it as much as she was sure the girls would remained to be seen but they were in it for the long run now and well.. they didn’t have a choice.

As they were all in separate houses, Aurora arrived at the makeshift movie theatre alone. Her hair was tied up into their usual double pigtail braids and she was sporting a pastel rainbow coloured pair of PJ’s covered in cutesie cartoons of magical creatures, a gift from her parents for her summer birthday that it hadn’t been quite cold enough to wear until that day. On her feet were a pair of unicorn slippers, the pearlescent horn shimmering under the candlelight as she shuffled her way along the corridor and waited outside the door to enter the cinema with her friends for the first time. Of course they had chosen to turn the assignment into a PJ party.

Dressing up for an assignment was a thing she didn't expect to have on her fifth year bingo card, and yet… here she was.

Knowing she and Logan were tackling the assignment together, she'd taken a little extra care in her attire. One of the few dresses she brought to school with her, a purple one Maria had convinced her to purchase the summer before, was what she'd chose for the evening. She'd also decided to curl her hair, leaving the dark brown tresses loose and a few magical charmed to stay perfectly in place around her face. Shoes, she was always picking comfort over anything else, so she'd settled for a pair of white trainors. She had her school bag over her shoulder too - filled with a box of chocolates she'd made, one of her more comfortable blankets in case the venue was cold (she'd often heard that was a thing) and a notebook.

Entering the venue just ahead of Logan, having opted to travel together from the Common, she glanced around. "I imagine Feirgrund made this super authentic. It certainly feels like it would be… should we tackle the machine first or get snacks?"

This had to be the most exciting day at Hogwarts in the world of Ezra Greenwood and that was saying something. Ezra was from a long line of pureblood witches and wizards and up until the very day he started Hogwarts, he had been sheltered from the activities of muggles. The only sources he had at home came from his Uncle Nathan and his Uncle Oliver.. but seeing the latter was only on the most rare of occasions. The man didn't seem welcome in the close family circle, which was sad.

Muggle Studies was the subject that fascinated Ezra the most (closely followed by Creatures and Herbology), so the chance to use muggle technology and watch one of their movies was enthralling to the little lad, especially given that he would be watching with his very very good friend, Etta Han.

He joined her in the movie theatre, ticket clutched in his hand and his mouth opened as he took it all in. It was so MODERN. The seats looked so big and plush and comfy and there was even snacks for the kids to enjoy. Did the seats have holders for cups? WOW. Muggles thought of everything! And look at the size of the screen!

“This. Is. Amazing!” He enthused as his eyes fell on Etta already at the snack bar. She'd really dressed up for the occasion. “Hello! I like your outfit.” He complimented. Wait.. were they supposed to be smart for this?

As much as Logan was not one who particularly enjoyed dressing up, he did have to admit he didn't mind as much for this assignment. There was something about seeing his partner in crime wearing a dress that he really liked, which was the first thing he noticed when they met up in the common room (where he very well might have stood dumbfounded for a brief moment before getting his wits about him). He also realised on their way down to the first floor that she had done stuff with her hair, which he thought looked quite nice.

The blond hadn't put nearly as much thought and effort into his appearance. He wasn't sure what the Muggles wore when they went to the movies, but he had settled for a nice collared shirt with a few of the top buttons undone, simple khaki pants, and a pair of trainers -- casual, but not overly so. A few spritzes of cologne had been put on as well. The thing he had spent the most time on was his hair, making sure each strand was exactly where it needed to be.

"He certainly did outdo himself," he commented, his eyes darting left and right the instant they had entered the theatre space. The large screen, the comfy seats, and the shelf of movies had been noted, though the snack bar quickly grasped his attention. "Definitely should get our snacks in order first, before we mess with that VCR thingy."

Etta paused and set down the popcorn and her eyes lit up when Ezra entered the room. She let out a sigh of relief. Not that she believed her friend would stand her up but there was always that anxiety of being forgotten or abandoned…this was not the past. This was the present and she was safe.

Good. Good. Good.

”Hi Ezra!” The youngling bashfully smiled at the compliment, ”thank you, I like yours too.” Dressing up for the movies was obviously not a requirement but Ms. Han wanted to look like the female in the film.Self insert.

"Uhm...thank you for joining me, Ezra." Etta sheepishly bowed, thanking him. Her anxiety subsided around people she deemed safe to be around and so far Ezra was among the select few she felt comfortable with.

”Would you like to grab snacks first?”She led back to the snack bar.”That machine over there makes slushies of different flavors. It’s a fluffy icy drink, it’s really good!” Henrietta did her best to describe what a slushy was for if Ezra hadn’t tried it before. ”I like mixing the raspberry and blue raspberry flavors together to make the color purple.” Etta giggled at her irrelevant fact."There's butter popcorn too! And sweets." She quite literally pointed out the plethora of snacks at their disposal. Now, was this necessary? Probably not, but she did so anyways.

Stop. Stop. Stop.

Etta stepped to the side to let Ezra explore and decide for himself and not overwhelm him. In the meantime she approached the slushie machine for her tasty concoction. Henrietta giggled to herself at the swirls she was making with the icy drink.

This was so exciting!

Now they could've easily chosen a different movie but why? This was one that the eleven year old knew by heart and could recite it line for line without watching the movie even playing. Plus it was always fun when she could dress the part while watching something. Aryan was in for an amazing time choosing her as his partner. Like he'd have wanted to choose anyone else... but they wouldn't be getting into that right now. Aryan was here with her and that's all that mattered.

The small blonde entered the theatre right behind her movie buddy, all dressed the part (as the childlike empress obviously) and clutching a Falkor stuffie in her arms. Their professor had gone all out to make this like a true movie going experience hadn't he? It was awesome! Much like her bestie, Bry had been to theatres and had a television in her room at home so she was well versed with what they were getting themselves into.

"Of course we can! We can do anythings!" Bry beamed brightly at Ary, throwing her arm around his shoulders and giving him a gentle squish. "Should we get the movie set up first or get our snacks and things ready now so we can just sit and watch the movie when we're ready?" However he wanted to do this was okay with her but uhhhhh, she was just going to bounce around in excited little circles for a moment to calm herself down so she could hopefully sit through the movie without flipping all over the place.

The little bit of staring had been noticed when she'd first met up with him, and the euphoria she'd felt at the bit of acknowledgment that her efforts had paid off was far from worn off. Unless that was her just excited about the current activity at hand and the person she was completing it with - which was likewise a strong possibility.

And if she knew he hadn't put much effort into his own, she would have been jealous. The black looked good on him, and even if she'd previously mocked him and Vasco for the way they had worn their shirts years before, she had to admit now it was a flattering fit. And his hair was always perfect, which while before might have been obnoxious now she couldn't help but admire that fact.

"I knew there was a reason we got on." She refocused on the task at his answer, turning to give him a smile before heading closer to the snacks and grabbing some of the paperware around in order to start collection of what she wanted to eat at. She'd present the box she'd made later once they'd sat. Using the provided scoop, she filled up one of the popcorn buckets with buttered popcorn before offering it towards him.."How much do you know about the movie we picked?"

I feel like I should have made more effort though.” He ran a hand through his hair, messing it all up. Did muggles put on their best togs to go to the movies? Ezra guessed it was a little like going to the theatre so maybe they did.

But it was too late to do anything about that now. Just as long as the Professor didn't dock points for it. “I should be thanking you! I'm sorry in advance for my ignorance over all this.” Using the VCR and messing with technology. But Ezra wanted to learn more than ANYTHING. Muggle tech was up there at the top of the list of things that fascinated the young boy.

His eyes went back to the snacks. Oh boy, of course he would like snacks first. He made his way over and helped himself to some popcorn, then his attention was brought to the slushy machine by Etta. “Oh my..” His eyes lit up. Setting his popcorn aside, he selected the biggest cup available and proceeded to fill it with a little bit of ever flavour. It was pretty rainbow colours at first, but would no doubt merge into a browny orange sludge in the warm theatre. Still, it would taste good! It was great having Etta here to point everything out because there was so much to take in that Ezra could easily become overwhelmed.

At last he looked over at the VCR machine and all the VHS tapes ready to go. He put his popcorn down by a chair and his slushy in the cup holder and made his way over to the technology. He ran his fingers over the top of the video player, as if expecting to feel magic radiating from it, but nothing. He beckoned Etta over.

“So we just put the square tape in the slot there and press the play button?” Was that truly it? How ingenious! Muggles were so clever. What he'd really like was to take it all apart and have a look at the inner workings of the machine.. but he was certain the Professor WOULD dock points for that.

Ary hadn’t mentioned it to Bry because of how touchy she was on the subject of him hanging out with other girls and Drake, but if one of his other friends had asked him to partner up with them, he would have. Though he didn’t think he did anything to make Bry insecure, when it came to him she was. In any case, he didn’t mind rewatching The NeverEnding Story with her; they always had fun together when they did.

Aryan didn’t come all decked out for it though, instead clad in his signature green button up shirt which which had been left open to reveal a white tee shirt under, jeans and a pair of trainers. He was more than happy to be in the shadows and allow Bry to have the spotlight as the Empress and all her simple but fine jewellery. He had eyed the stuffie but said nothing. Someday, he’d ensure that Bry had her own real dragon. It was a discussion he planned on having soon with his fathers.

There was a happy laugh from him as Bry threw her arm around his shoulders. “Thats we can.” They made a great team, even when Bry was having one of her tantrums. “Set up the movie firsts, I think,’’ Ary continued as he leaned closer to the VCR. He knew this contraption had a few issues; his major concern was it eating the tape and digesting it completely, a.k.a the VCR destroying the movie’s tape. He doubted the professor would be impressed with that. Locating his and Bryony’s choice of movie, Ary slid the tape out of the box then proceeded, somewhat nervously, to feed it through the VCR’s flap.

“Okays… I think that’s good so far. All we gots to do is press play.” He prayed that there would be no issues during the movie because he wasn’t that versed in ancient Muggle contraptions. “Snack time?” As usual, Ary was not that hungry but would get some salty goodness to munch on. He seized Bry’s Falkor-free hand to lead her to the snack bar.

This activity sounded like a lot of fun, but Solly wasn’t all that impressed with the choice of movie from his friends, and that he didn’t get involved in any discussions about it at all. Of course, he wasn’t going to argue with either of them, unbeknownst to him at this point as well that Ezra had also been invited. Something else he wouldn’t be too happy to discover.

He reluctantly arrived in pyjamas as per the girls request. Nothing special, just an all grey ensemble including his flooooofy dressing gown. He didn’t have any slippers, though, so he just wore regular trainers which just felt weird and looked ridiculous.

Seeming as if Aurora was the only one here thus far, Solomon couldn’t help but sigh before reaching the theatre, being careful not to sigh loudly enough for her to hear him coming. He was still a little sour with her after the fiasco in potions class, but would try to not let it ruin whatever this was.

“Nice slippers,” he commented, stuffing his hands into his floofy dressing gown.

Etta smiled and shook her head, ”Dressing up is not a requirement…I just wanted to look like the female lead in the movie.” Etta’s cheeks burned! But at least it’ll hopefully ease her friend and make him feel less out of place. Approving the mess hair, the youngling beamed and gave Ezra two thumbs up!

Henrietta was not one to judge anyone, who was she to do so anyways? Heck, even she was still figuring out her way around the magical realm. Yes, she’s got some knowledge of the world but not as much as her appearance might entail. The longest she’s ever been around magic would be when she was ages 3-8. However, her cruel foster family didn’t make much effort to teach the youngling anything of much value. It was with her foster grandmother Etta got real education but the elderly woman could only do so much at her age, in the short time they had together. Etta was grateful nonetheless.”No apology needed, I’ll be your tutor.” Etta beamed. Of course, if that would be okay with Ezra after all. And perhaps maybe she could learn a few things from him too?

Once Etta set down her drink in the cup holder of her seat along with the snacks, she joined Ezra by the VCR. The system and plethora of movies was so enticing! Hmm, maybe she’ll ask permission to come back here and watch more films once the assignment is completed, if the theater is still available. ”Mhm, that seems about right.” Etta smiled and let Ezra do the honors. ”Perhaps you should press the button with the arrows going left to rewind the tape?” Just to double check the film won’t start somewhere in the middle or worse, the end.

That.. wasn't true. Aryan was free to have all the friends he wanted just so they knew that she was his most favoritest. Her. No one else. They all remembered that and there wouldn't be any issues. See, Ary. She wasn't touchy about anything. But she was happy that she had gotten to him before anyone else had.

Bry would've LOVED if Ary had dressed up along with her for this but she knew how he could be. Boring. Just kidding. She adored him and his mellow little self. She was more than happy to have all the attention on her and her stuffie. One day she was going to have her very own dragon! Until then, stuffies were good.

It took a lot for Sloane Aubrey Knott to get excited about something but a movie night watching an old muggle movie favourite of hers was something she could get into. She’d even brought her blanket, a large green and black chequered one from home that she’d had since forever. It was a little worn but it smelt like home and it was super comfy.

Sure, it wasn’t going to be in the best quality but it wasn’t like she’d spent a lot of time watching things on TV anyway. Theirs back home had barely worked so whenever she got the chance to watch something, she always took it. She also got to hang out with Phoebe too, which she’d hoped would cheer her up a little.

After signing in, Sloane headed straight to the mini-theatre and obviously straight for the snack bar. What movie night would be complete without some popcorn? After grabbing a large popcorn and a large drink most of which would be gone before the movie began, Sloane claimed one of the chairs for herself by placing the popcorn and drinks down next to it before finally heading towards the projector screen and the shelf of VHS’s, her blanket still draped around her shoulders. It didn’t take her long to find the green cover of the movie she’d chosen. Shrek! The green ogre had always appealed to her, simply because he wasn’t your typical hero. He didn’t look the same or act in a particular way that a hero should. He was authentic and himself, something that Sloane identified with. Taking the cassette, she headed over to the Video player and placed it on top read for when Phoebe arrived. She was eager to start and to snack but this was technically a project of sorts and putting the video in without her almost felt like…cheating? She wasn’t sure what the rules were, but she still waited.

Phoebe was... not feeling the best about Hogwarts. She- she felt like she didn't make enough friends, and that the friends she did make were only pretending to like her. So when she was invited to work with Sloane on this project, she jumped at the opportunity. Especially because it was Sloane! She stuck close to Sloane a lot, because Sloane was braver than her and also because Sloane cared when Phoebe was upset. Phoebe was also excited for this project because it reminded her of how she used to watch movies with Flo at Stemp House. And Aaliyah a long time ago, back when Phoebe was a tiny kid and could barely remember anything.

She arrived slightly after Sloane, wearing her comfiest clothes and with a threadbare navy-blue blanket tied around her neck like a cape. Phoebe was short enough that she had to pick up the edges so they wouldn't drag on the floor. She signed in, then grabbed a LARGE popcorn and a LARGE soda (she took them to the seating area in two precarious-looking trips, one hand still holding the blanket cape). "Hi Sloane!" She bounced towards her friend at a typical Phoebe's-lungs-are-wheezing-speed, instantly feeling happier and not even tripping over her shoes this time. "My favorite part of Shrek is that he's green. Also, I like that he doesn't let other people control him." She looked at the VHS tape with a mixture of excitedness and confusion. "Can I help you put it in the VHS player? Please?" Phoebe wanted to get a try too. She'd never ever used one of these before!

Ary most certainly would not deny that: Bry was his favourite. He loved her, even if he usually was quiet about it {in any case, she was loud about the fact enough for the both of them}. Still, he didn’t envy anyone who became too close with him. Boring? Maybe he was a bit? He certainly thought that he was, with his simple mannerisms and limited amount of words spoken each day.

All of that aside, he knew he and Bry were going to have a great hour and a half or so {since that was the approximate length of the movie}, even if a tantrum was thrown. “Yep, I thinks I did.” Ary threw the VCR a frown before turning to his friend. He smiled, because who didn’t love encouragement? “You gets to press ‘play’ when we’re ready.” It wasn’t fair to not let Bry help. This was their project together, after all.

“Um…” Aryan mulled over all the snacks available, his gaze not taking in the sweets twice. “Popcorn and nachos with lots of cheese! And… iced tea.” He could see a few cans of his favourite drink. “I carry the snacks, you carry the drinks?” Already the boy was loading up melted cheese in containers.

Thankfully, it didn’t take Phoebe long to arrive. Sloane took one look at her fellow Slytherin friend and greeted her with a small smile, something she’d been trying to work on as she’d heard it would help her seem ‘more friendly. “Hey Phoebe. You look like Batman with that cape.” She’d seen Phoebe wearing it like that before as they shared a dorm room but only now was it hitting her just how much she looked like the caped crusader.

“Uh-hu. Yeah, I mean, he does like to live his life which is pretty cool. He does what he wants. I like that about him too.” Sloane looked down at the tape and the video player for a moment, confused as to why Phoebe might think she didn’t know what she was doing. “No. I know what I’m doing. I was just waiting because I didn’t know if like, you needed to help or something to get any of the credit or marks or whatever. I figured maybe you should do it because I got the tape.” Sloane had no idea how all of this worked so she simply aired on the side of caution, something she didn’t usually do. “You just slide the tape into the player and hit the play button. It’s not too hard, I think. I think I saw somewhere that these things need to be rewound so I’m assuming it already has been…” whatever that meant.

Even if he tried to deny it (just as he denied he was her boyfriend), Bryony Rose Paton knew the truth. Loud? Pffft. If he thought she was being loud now. Just wait, sweet sweet Aryan. He ain't seen anything yet. As for him being boring, it was a JOKE! His 'boring' was absolutely perfect for her 'crazy'. This was why they worked.

Whenever they were together they had the best time (which was all the time). So there was no doubt in her mind that this would be any different for them. Bryony beamed at Aryan. "Yeah?! Otays! That I can do." Pressing 'play' on the VCR was the easy part of it all but she wouldn't let them down!

Was Bry at all surprised with her [b]boyfriends[/s] besties choice in snacks? Nope, not in the slightest. These were their usual go to movie snacks. "Alls the cheese, Ary!" Nod nod. Yep, yep. She got the drinks. His very favorite iced tea. A package of skittles was also grabbed but if they would be eaten was unknown (most likely YES). She would be sharing them with him of course. "Napkins! I gots um!" Chances were they would be needing those too.

Phoebe responded to Sloane’s smile with a grin of her own. ”I love batman! Because of bats!” Phoebe was a fruit bat for Halloween, and she called her bed the Bat Cave. She felt like she’d make a good batman! She flapped her ‘cape’ for dramatic effect. “I am… um… I am… invent-ious!” That’s what Batman always said. She was pretty confident.

”I wish I was more like Shrek,” Phoebe said wistfully. He was so brave, like Sloane. Phoebe was a scaredy-bat and she was worried that she wasn’t growing out of it fast enough. Phoebe was SO pleased that Sloane let her put in the VHS tape, but she tried not to be smug. She was very excited to try out the muggle technology, though she knew Sloane could do it. She carefully (trying her best to not be clumsy) took the tape from her friend. ”I think it’s been rewound too.” But she checked just to make sure. Then she VERY CAREFULLY put the tape in the VHS player and pressed the button. ”Should we sit down? Is it time for Shrek now?” She looked at the screen to see if the movie was working.

Now THIS was the kind of homework assignment Ezra enjoyed. Watching a film? Easy. Watching it with friends (or at least, acquaintances?)? Even better.

He was somewhat familiar with the film Anna and/or Aurora had chosen. His gran, who was a Muggle, had shown it to him and his older sister Cissa when they were younger. But, truth be told, he didn't remember much of it. Mostly he remembered the scene with the unusually large rodents and the character who wanted revenge for his father's death. So it'd be interesting to see what all he had forgotten about.

Dressed in a plain red shirt, comfy black pyjama bottoms, and black socks, he made his way down from the Gryffindor tower, careful not to slip on the stairs on the way down. Nothing like falling down the stairs to ruin movie night.

Once he'd arrived, he spotted Aurora and another bloke in his year standing outside the door. No Anna yet though. Was this guy - the name was escaping him suddenly but it started with an S, he was pretty sure - joining too?

"Hey," he said with a grin. "No Anna yet?"

Using the provided scoop, she filled up one of the popcorn buckets with buttered popcorn before offering it towards him.."How much do you know about the movie we picked?"

"Just the one reason? I would like to think yo -- our good looks is another reason, on top of the little adventures and shenanigans. What was that Muggle saying? With the right weather, birds fly together?" That last bit didn't sound quite right to him, he realized as soon as the words had come out of his mouth. But the gist was surely still the same, right?

Whether or not the right words of that phrase had been correct didn't stay the focal point very long for the blond. Instead, his attention had shifted to what he assumed were Muggle sweets and crisps. Correction: most of his attention was on the snack bar. He was still casting glances over to Vera, who had started filling up a bucket with popcorn. Since she had taken the liberty of taking care of that, he decided to make himself busy with the drinks. "Any of these tickle your fancy?" he asked as he made a grand gesture at all of the options.

The popcorn bucket was gladly received when it was offered to him. Without any hesitation, he grabbed a few of the popped kernels and tossed them into his mouth for a little taste test. As he chewed, Logan tried to remember anything from the one time he had looked at the movie cover. "There is a labyrinth ... a girl and creatures ... and a guy with wild hair. And the movie is ancient." That summed up pretty much everything he knew about their selection.

His near slip up was noticed, and while she couldn't be for certain he was about to say her looks specifically, it certainly sounded like it. She giggled a bit. "The only one I know is 'birds of a feather flock together'. Though I'm more focused on the fact you've admitted I do look good." She was teasing, as he'd given compliments here and there now that we're a clear indication of such. But could you blame a girl for taking the opportunity to hear it again?

Finishing up grabbing popcorn, she sat it aside her container and grabbed another for various other snack options - selecting a variety of licorice, sours and chocolate to nibble on. At his question of drinks, she glanced over and deliberated for a second. "Can you just grab me a water?" With so many other sugars, she'd need some type of palate cleanser.

As she watched him take the popcorn and throw some to catch immediately, she paused an watched him for a moment with a hint of a smile, before another laugh escaped at the answer to her question. "Wasn't that hair like the height of fashion back then?" She wasn't entirely certain, but she thought maybe so. "I think there are some puppets and stuff too." she added.

With her mind now on the movie and snacks figured, Ve made her way towards the seats - dropping off her selections in one spot along with her bag - before heading towards the machine. "I think I know how to set this up. Want to get your spot comfortable and then come double check my work?" She wasn't THAT confident, okay? "Also there's a blanket in my bag if you're cold and want to share it. And a box of some sweets I made too, if you're interested." Feeling weirdly self conscious about the last bit, she turned her body to fiddle with the machine as she said it.

Now, it looked rewinded. Just pop it in right and turn everything on?

Of course, she loved Batman. That tracked and she should have honestly expected it. With a small chuckle, Sloane pulled her blanket tighter around her shoulder and eyed her fellow first year, half amused and half exasperated as she flapped her imaginary bat wings. Sloane hadn’t been sure about Phoebe at first. She’d honestly found her a little strange and annoying but as she watched her closer, she was very much herself, albeit slightly self-conscious and worrisome and this was something that Sloane could understand. “You sure are, Phoeb’s.

“You want to be tall and hated by a lot of people? Shrek didn’t always have the best of times, y’know? It turned out alright for him but it was hard too. I think you’re doing just fine as you are,” offering her a small, reassuring smile. Just let someone try to say something mean to her. Focusing her attention on the video tape, she gave it a once over after taking it out of its case and nodded in agreement. “I think you’re right. At least who ever used it last had rewound it. We should do that before we go,” she added as an afterthought. Letting Phoebe take the tape, she watched as she placed it into the player before going back to the seat where her drink and popcorn lay waiting for her. “Sure. It’s SHREK TIME!”

Pulling her blanket from around herself, Sloane draped it over her legs and torso and sat back, ready for the ogre to throw everyone out of his swamp!
