Rain or shine, the Great Hall continues to be the hub of the school. Four long tables, one for each House as defined by the banners floating above them, are stationed in the enormous room facing the raised table reserved for the school staff. Already placed on the tables are silver plates with accompanying cutlery and goblets. Mountains of food and pitchers containing your favourite beverages are at your fingertips.
Whether you arrived for breakfast, lunch, or dinner on time or late, feel free to dig in as the headmaster has no speech to give. Keep yourself preoccupied by catching up with your fellow housemates or those who are visiting from the other tables while sink your teeth into the hearty and delicious meal prepared by the house-elves. Just remember to display proper eating etiquette and don't get any funny ideas. Food is to be eaten, not thrown across the dining room. Wasting food will come at a price that you will not like to pay.
While Roulan was not well versed in the language of flowers, she did happen to know a decent amount about nature's different oils and the properties they could possess to help with certain things. Roulan herself had a nightly bubble bath ritual in which she used a nice lavender scent to destress from the day and prepare for a night of rest. "Did you inherit her interest then for botanicals?" She noted the use of 'was' and her heart strings pulled for the young one. "I'm not quite good at cultivating them - I never stayed in one place long enough to practice. But I admire their beauty and the properties they offer. I was always particularly partial to how baby's breath looked." Had she ever chosen to marry, that might have been the flower she used.
It was hard to answer the next question, merely because Roulan didn't know yet. "Time will tell on that. But I do know I will always have time for whoever needs to swing by."
Rue smiled approvingly as Etta began to eat, and she reached out to pick at her own plate once again. "London. I believe my great nephew is actually associated with your sister. At least, through a friend of hers anyways." And Gray certainly had nothing but good things to say about Jin Ae, who in turn raved about the older Han. "Hmm. I think I quite like Halloween. Being someone new for a night is exciting. And it is an excellent excuse to indulge in sugar. What about you?"
The pop that came with Tinka and her whisk's arrival certainly startled Roulan, but she remained composed and did not show it. Instead she just smiled at the house elf. "oh I would always love something sweet, Tinka. We were just lamenting how wonderful of a job you and the other elves do with our meals and desserts. Might I have a serving of whatever is your favorite to make?"

She was definitely being dramatic… he didn’t think one of his steps would equate to two of hers at all, he wasn’t some giant!!! “I am totally okay with you having a head start.” Solomon grinned menacingly again. “You’re gonna need it,” oooops, would she hear that little muttering??
Had she given him a chance to consent to magic being performed on his face, he would have said NO. He was far too pretty to be subjected to any magical accidents from a THIRD YEAR of all people?!!!! It only added to his already grumpiness, but that was before she planted a peck on his cheek.
Why did she do THAT?
His cheeks were now jam free but not so much blush free. “Uhhh… thanks.” Solly managed, automatically smudging his cheek. Not to smudge the kiss away, but to check out her handiwork. Pretty impressive magic, he supposed. “We should probably get going…” if they wanted to get to that tree before he died of embarrassment.
Solly was obviously trying to wind Aurora up in some way with that additional comment but it fell completely on deaf ears. Or rather it could have been that she agreed with it considering it had been her that had asked for the head start anyway. “I know silly billy, that’s why I said I need one.” Duh. “My short little legs need an advantage” She wiggled her feet under the table as if to prove how small they truly were.
Why was it that Solomon’s mood always seemed to be the opposite of Aurora’s? Although she was pretty oblivious to the grumpiness due to the pride she felt at achieving such a perfect spell for which she hadn’t really had that much practice for. “I’m getting really good at Charms” she beamed excitedly. Other lessons perhaps not so much but Charms were quick and easy and didn’t require too much long and hard concentration from the Ravenclaw and therefore less of an opportunity to become distracted.
“Okay. Give me ten seconds..” And off she sprinted out of the Great Hall and out into the grounds.
Algamus was feeling more relaxed as the days went on. Today was a good day for tea, yes it was. Any studentsies and elvsies can come have tea and scones in the hall.
A loud POP echoing in the great hall, Algamus and his small elf frame took a seat right on the bench of one of the house tables. Snapping his fingers, platters filled with scones and desserts, as he kicked off his boat shoes and wriggled his toes. Dust bunnies in the corner, Algamus saw not, as he sipped his tea.

Did…
Did House Elves occasionally seat themselves in the Great Hall while sipping on tea? On his way to the Slytherin Table, he halted in his tracks, an inquisitive gaze fixed on the elf. Now, Aryan had none of the obsession that his dad had with House Elves but the boy was genuinely curious about the visible presence at the moment.
This was why he approached. “Hi,’’ he said with some caution. “Can students sit with you?” Or was this a little gathering for only elves? Either way, Ary felt it was best to seek permission first.

Desiree had been hard at work studying for most of the day, so much so that she’d completely lost track of time. Now she was starving! Eager for a fresh hot meal, she made her way to the Great Hall, where a strange sight awaited her. Bright blue eyes blinked confusedly at the sight of the house elf sipping tea. That wasn’t normal… but she wasn’t bothered by it. Why shouldn’t house elves have tea in the Great Hall?
“Hello, Algamus,” she greeted with a friendly smile and wave. Cue another smile and wave for Ary. “Hi, Ary!” Her expression brightened at the sight of the platters of desserts. “Ooh, are you having a tea party?” How elegant! If she’d known, she should've worn a Belle-inspired outfit for the occasion… or perhaps Alice. If it was a party, did they need entertainment? She could charm the dishes to sing Be Our Guest!

Another small elf appeared from a service door, carrying a large tray loaded with pastries. She was carrying the tray a little crookedly and every now and then one of the cakes fell on the floor, but Tinka either didn't notice this or didn't care.
When she reached the table where Algamus was sitting, she smacked the tray down in front of him with a large crash. "There! There is your cakeses and cookies, you old pig." She glared around at the head elf and everyone else at the table. "You is not supposing that house elves have anything better to do than make extra, fancy teas all the time." She turned to go with a final glare at Algamus, then started off back toward the kitchens, a very audible "Hmmmphhhh!" trailing behind her.
The pastries are not really of Hogwarts House Elf quality--they are misshapen and some are a little burnt looking, and the smell coming from the tray is far from appetizing.
Beezley was sick of worksies! All day every day, it was cleansies, sweepsies, cooksies, and annoying studentsies everywhere! The elf entered the great hall, angrily muttering under her breath.
The muttering stopped when she saw Algamus and the studentsies at the table. “Greedy pigsy Algamus is keeping all the tea and sweetsies to himself! Beezley wants tea too!” she said. She glared at the two studentsies. “What are studentsies doing here?”
Beezley sat down, propping her feetsies on the table. She held up a teacup, as if expecting someone to fill it for her. In the meantime, she helped herself to a cakesie. Sniff, sniff. “Tinka’s cakeses smell like FARTSES!”
Tinka stopped dead in her tracks, bristling with outrage. How DARES you, Beezley elf!! You has been doing nothing and Tinka has been doing all the work, so you is having no right to say ANYTHING! Tinka is tired, tired, TIRED of working!!!" With each word, the small elf slammed a wire whisk she was carrying down on the table, and at the last, she hit it so hard that the top came off of the handle and went flying across the room to land in a dusty corner. Tinka didn't seem to notice, though; she just threw the handle carelessly down on the table and turned on her heel.
"Tinka is tired now and is going to take a nap. Anyone who wants more treats can make them themselfs!" And with that, she marched over to an alcove underneath a window and lay down, curling up with her back to the room. Very shortly some very un-elflike snoring could be heard coming from that corner of the room.
Algamus was aloof or perhaps he'd have expected the students to have joined him at the table. He raised his cup to the young Mister Atreyu-Rehman. "Tea, yes.... come sit." It felt good to sit. It didn't take long before Miss Marchand joined them too quite the typical friendly Hufflepuff. "Tea party for all. Yes. Tea and scones for all."
Uh oh. Was he busted? "Tinka .... sit with too. This is for elvies too... Enough with the cleaning." Did he notice the dust accumulating in the corners? Not particularly. At least Beezley wanted to join him at the table. Although if she wanted to nap that was okay too. Studentsies can clean themselves. They were the real pigs around here.

Ary hadn’t expected to be the only student who showed up asking questions about Alagmus being here; House Elves had long been a fascination to many. It was therefore no surprise that Desiree joined him a short while later. The Slytherin gave the Hufflepuff a warm smile in greeting. He should have also expected more Elves to join in; the arrival of Tinka and Beezley just might have answered Desiree’s question about the party.
What did surprise him, however, was the strange interaction among the three Elves. Why was Tinka being so careless about dropping food? What was with the name calling? An eyebrow of Ary’s actually arched when Beezley rudely asked what he and Desiree were doing there.
O________o
Aryan was rather confused and rather than say anything, even in answer to Beezley’s question should he annoy her further, he nodded at Alagmus in a show of gratitude. The boy was seated and he looked around at Desiree. Would she sit too or…? “Why are Tinka and Beezley being mean to each other?” he asked curiously, and at the same time taking the opportunity to examine the burnt pastries. There was no way a House Elf had baked these.
