| | Arcade Area As you continue along the second-floor corridor, you will eventually stumble upon a bust of a medieval wizard who is quietly muttering to himself in Latin. But it is the antechamber near this statue that draws in a lot of students because over the years this spot has been designated as a popular hang-out area. More often than not, those who need a break from schoolwork come here to play an array of indoor wizarding games.
Scattered around this small room are chess boards, decks of Exploding Snap cards, areas for playing Gobstones, and other wizarding games ranging from Snitch Snatcher to Wizard Cracker Pop-It to Wizard Skittles. If none of these games interest you, there is a small table where Runok Ko and Rune Riddle books can be found. Otherwise, you can go check out the suit of armour that stands off to the side -- maybe you will figure out that it is guarding a passage to a secret storeroom -- or, if you feel there's more of the castle for you to explore, take the stairway that leads up to the third floor.

| open post~ A path is not simply for walking, its purpose lies in moving forward and improving oneself. Perhaps discovering a hidden passageway on his second day of school wasn't all that exciting because he was now even more lost than before. He knew he'd been on the fifth floor, but he was now standing in a corridor he only vaguely remembered. But everything in this school looked the same, how would he ever remember where he was?!
He kept walking down the corridor, hoping to see something familiar when he came across a bust of a medieval wizard. Did it say something? Sohrin paused to examine the statue but did not hear anything. He shook his head, he was probably nervous because he was lost. But just as he was about to enter the small room next to the statue, he heard it again. 'Latin?' he wondered. He recognized some of the muttered words as Latin but had no idea what they meant. Why would a statue be---Sohrin gasped out loud. It was concealing something! He was certain of it! Maybe he could find a clue somewhere in the other room?

Sir Bloodiness was lazily floating along the second floor corridor. Awfully bored and with no purpose to ‘life’ today, the Baron was secretly hoping that Peeves may cause some mayhem just to keep things interesting. There would be no need for the poltergeist to get into full out fanfare by dishing out powers to the human dwellers of Hogwarts. Something simple would suffice.
The Baron fully intended on ignoring every student that he floated by yet this wasn’t the case of the tiny human lurking along the second floor. “You seem to be up to something,” Sir Bloodiness remarked in a deep threatening silky tone. Startling the child was the least of his concern.

Sohrin had come to a halt to consider something. If the mumbling statue was out here, would there even be a clue in the next room? He took a few steps back until he was back in front of it. Perhaps the Latin words were the hint? Oh, how he wished he had his notebook with him before he went to explore the castle. Maybe he could train Bagel his pet rat to find him hidden objects?
He could also be completely wrong and this statue was nothing special at all. But something told him there was something else lurking behind it. Call it instinct! He reached for the statue and began poking it in random places, hoping to find a switch somewhere.
He was so focused on his work that he hadn't noticed the temperature drop in the hallway until the ghost of Slytherin House approached. The first year shivered slightly and then jumped in surprise upon hearing the remark. "I am" he replied, he didn't feel as if he was doing anything wrong, so there was no reason to lie, right? "But aren't we all up to something though, Sir...uhm...." He scratched the back of his head. "...how should I call you?"He'd heard about the House ghosts and he knew this was one of them, but Merlin's Beard had no idea what their names were.

Sir Bloodiness proudly drew himself up in his full height. It was always quite remarkable to watch the reactions from humans to his presence. It was quite a pity the child wasn’t up to no good. Sir Bloodiness would have used him as entertainment. “Quite right you are, child. Whether it be good, whether it be bad. I gather you’re not up to the latter.” Bored as he was, the Baron had never, nor will ever goad a student into mischief. “You may call me ‘The Bloody Baron’ or ‘Sir Bloodiness’.” There was a pause as the ghost continued to survey the child with a deep haunting stare. “Pray tell, what may I call you and why did you look so baffled a minute ago?”

His mother had taught him that he was innocent until proven guilty. Besides, he didn't go out looking for trouble; he usually found it by accident.
Sohrin returned his gaze to the translucent figure as the bust of the medieval wizard behind him began to mumble again. He did think that he could look a bit friendlier. "My mom told me about you!" What was it she said again? 'Man, I'm glad I wasn't in Slytherin because that Baron gives me the creeps.' eeehm....yeah he better not say THAT. "She told me a lot about all the House ghosts, actually she talked about Hogwarts in general, but I remember your name!" he simply didn't have a face to associate with the name. "You can call me Sohrin" Could he also include a title? Sohrin the Magnificent is what he wants to be called! "And I'm on a quest to uncover all of Hogwarts' secrets!" It didn't matter to him whether he found them on purpose or by chance, as long as he did. "And this statue here is sus" He pointed to the bust of the medieval wizard.

There was even a high tone of pride in his voice when he spoke next which overrode the original boredom. “I expect she would have told you the entire sad story about my love for Helena Ravenclaw?” Of all the stories that had made up Sir Bloodiness’s life that remained the most popular. “I shall call you Master Sohrin. It just feels right. As for discovering all of Hogwarts’s secrets I’m afraid you might spend all of your seven years hunting them out and will still be unable to find them all.’’ That was another fact Master Sohrin. “Why? Is it because he’s muttering to himself? I think he lost his mind after decades of not having anyone much to talk to.”

Is it because he’s muttering to himself? I think he lost his mind after decades of not having anyone much to talk to.” Sohrin had noticed a change in the Baron's tone of voice, which bothered him. If he had known what the topics were and by listening to his words a second later he did, the Ravenclaw would have assumed that he would sound that prideful. " She mentioned a thing or two" he said, nodding his head. But discussing depressing events from the FAR past was not his cup of tea. He had a castle to discover! "Were you actually in Slytherin House when you were a student here? How many secrets have you discovered?" "Master Soh...." Sohrin looked crestfallen. Every professor addressed him as such; it was a common title in a school setting. It was almost disappointing. "Well, if that's true, I guess I need to change my words?" he sighed. Instead of finding all of Hogwarts secrets, he would work on finding most of the school's secrets.
As the statue began to mumble in Latin, the Ravenclaw turned his head to look at it again. He was suspicious of the statue precisely because it was talking to itself. But the Baron's words caused him to reconsider yet again. "That's...sad" he concluded. He enjoyed interacting with others and found some conversations interesting, but not all. "No one should have no one to talk to for so many years," he said, frowning. "I should ask Professor Liu if I can sign up for Latin classes, maybe one day I'll be able to speak with this statue!" Perhaps his intuition was correct, and the statue did contain a secret. He could obviously ask the Baron about some of the secrets but he wanted to try and find them by himself at first.

Sir Bloodiness was proud, yes. His pride continued to play a huge role in his striking personality. The Baron did not mind the topic of Helena was glossed over; over the years, it had become a sore spot of his. “This is true. I attended Hogwarts in the eleventh century. Did you know that Hogwarts four founders were alive at the time? I had the privilege of knowing them.” His Ghostliness drew himself up importantly.
Ah. “Do you not want to be called Mister? I might be able to improvise and call you by your first name alone.” Maybe. “Unfortunately you will. Yet you are off to a right start by starting your little expedition so soon after arriving at Hogwarts. Have you made any grand discoveries as yet?”
Sir Bloodiness could not say that he understood what it was like to not have anyone to talk to. Conversation was always readily available to him. Whenever he was in the mood and allowed it of course. “Aren’t you a kind young man? I think it is a good idea though you will have to put your best foot forward. Languages can be particularly difficult.”
