For those who belong in Hufflepuff House, in the middle of the Great Hall is where your table awaits. Gold banners containing an embroidered black badger float above the polished table in honour of the loyal Helga Hufflepuff. Already placed on the tables are silver plates with accompanying cutlery and goblets. All that is missing right now are the mountains of food and pitchers containing your favourite beverages.

Though your stomach might be growling as you take a seat on one of the long benches next to the table, it is important to not get hangry -- gnawing your arm away or jabbing your fork repeatedly on the surface of the table will do no good whatsoever. Give everyone some time to get settled in and wait for Headmaster Winterbottom to deliver his speech. Keep yourself preoccupied by catching up with your fellow housemates or those who are visiting from the other tables until it is time to sink your teeth into the hearty and delicious meal prepared by the house-elves.

Charlie hardly dared to believe it. The two years of his education at Hogwarts had flown by in the blink of an eye. He reflected on this fact as he took a seat for his last feast at the Hufflepuff table. It had been a great experience, these years, as much as it had been at Durmstrang. There were so many persons he had met and so many friends that had been made. It had certainly been a fun ride, especially seeing as his House won the Cup both years. Now he had his exciting professional Quidditch career to look forward to! It was a journey he could not wait to get started on.

For now, though, he'd enjoy the last moments at Hogwarts. All he needed now were his Housemates since he had the girlfriend at his side. “I’m famished,’’ he announced quietly to her, his eyes moving to the Staff table as though hoping that Winterbottom was about to give his speech.

This growing lad needed food!

This was it. His final year at Hogwarts had come to an end, and he was officially graduating with this year's end feast. He felt... he wasn't sure how he felt. He didn't feel either sad or happy. He was entirely unbothered about graduating. Daniel sat at the Hufflepuff table, usually with a book beside him, but he hadn't brought one with him today. Instead, he looked around the Great Hall, taking in as much detail as he could because he wouldn't be returning for a long time. Maybe never again.

He was ready for the next chapter in his life. Going to University for Behavioral Sciences and Rune Studies and he was especially excited to start his wandless magic lessons with Professor…or was it Mentor Khanna now?

But the most important question at the moment was, how long was the Headmaster going to take to start his speech? This Hufflepuff was hungry and he planned to eat as much as he could.

Maria pulled her bushy hair out of her face with a yellow and black ribbon in celebration of their house cup win. To her boyfriend sitting by her side she whispered quietly as she gave his left hand a squeeze under the table. "Kion, do you really think a sphinx will give the end of term speech?" If that happened it'd be one of the memory books for sure. Maria looked up momentarily at the everchanging ceiling before turning her attention to the other badgers seated at the table. "Hi Charlie! Hi Keighley! Hi Daniel! Has anyone got any summer plans?"

Prepared with her little rainbow goodie bags once again - this time for the graduating seventh years or those students that may be transferring and what not - Anna DARTED to the Great Hall with oooooooooooooooooone extra special surprise for oooooooooooooone extra special soon-to-be graduate. The canary yellow ribbon tied to a super cute but overinflated balloon was way too long and brushing against the bottoms of the floating candles as she skipped her way down the aisle towards the Hufflepuffle table. The ballon was not just in her hand but attached to ANOTHER little gift she thought was terribly clever. Or...it will be terribly clever assuming she nailed the delivery.

She would, of course, greet everyone in turn but FIRST she needed to play the best owl she could.

"DANIEL!" she chirped as she came to a stop right beside him with WIDE eyes that were trying not to blink because she very will might cry if she did and a big smile that was just ever so slightly wibbly. "Here. For you. As a thank you for being an AMAZING entrepreneuring mentor and showing me the world through a totally different lens," she explained before presenting him with the balloon tied sunglasses. "Your future is BRIGHT!"

Did he get it? Did he? Did he think it was terribly clever?

Unlike the previous end of the term feast, this badger didn't look sad, and she hadn't been crying out in the entrance hall either. Despite once again having several of her people graduating and leaving her behind, she was okay. Or at least, as okay as she could be. She was going home for the summer and what was currently be-?

Huh?

Oh, yes, that's right. That's right. Let's not get too distracted now. The blonde wrangled in her thoughts and focused in on the words that were being spoken to her.

"You're allllllllwaaaaaays famished," Keighley teased lightly, smiling up at her boyfriend, whose hand she just so happened to be holding as she took her place at his side at their house table.

Warm smiles were given to those around her. She would've verbally said her 'hellos' to Daniel and Anna but it seemed that the former was busy accepting a gift. So her attention focused on Kion and Maria."Spend as much time as I can with this one here," she playfully nudged Charlie as she said that, "and with Livvy, my family and as many friends as I can. But I also want to keep up with my training and attend as many competitions as I can. What about you?" Basically the same as most summers, she would probably go see her brothers band in concert too and possibly her cousins as well.

Instead, his focus was on who squeezed his hand which he squeezed back as gently, "I dunno, it'd be kind of cool to see that. I wonder where the Sphinx will end up sitting?" He thought Maria's loose curly hair was so pretty especially today as he used his other hand to help tuck one of her strands back as well. He was a little hesitant about the Sphinx, especially after hearing his dad talk about the mess it made at the Fair.

Kion smiled, "That's so cool, same with us, our family's having a get together," Among other dates he had planned with Maria. "I plan to try out for Junior Gobstones, as well," So he had an eventful summer ahead.

Before Maria could venture a guess as to where the sphinx would be sitting when the sphinx entered the great hall, and headed straight for the staff table. Gesturing up to the staff dais Maria murmured back the boyfriend. "It looks like the sphinx is going to sit next to headmaster Winterbottom." So maybe the sphinx was going to aid with the speech. "I'm holding my fingers and toes for you that you'll get selected for junior gobstones Kion," Maria promised with a warm smile pursing her lips. "I might try out for junior gobstones or quidditch too if my dadies aren't totally against it."

Turning to Keighley she smiled "Big family get togethers are the best. We're having one too, and my little brother will probably want to show off a new trick he has learned on his broom."

The absence of a book with Daniel. Maybe his dormie just wanted to enjoy the last feat fully by focusing on the actual happenings rather than having his nose in a book. “These strong Beater arms need their energy,’’ Charlie replied, bopping Keigh on the shoulder with his. Char directed his attention to Maria and Kion. Those two were mushy lovebirds as much as he and Keigh were. “Hey, guys! At the moment, none. I’m just going to go with the flow. How about you too?” The young man chuckled at Keigh’s plan. “As you can tell, she’s going to be quite busy for the next few months. I expect I’ll just be tagging along with Keigh most of the time.”

Junior Gobstones? Charlie’s ears perked up. Sure, Gobstones wasn’t his thing but he was always happy to lend support to someone who wanted to try out for the junior Quidditch and Gobstones teams. “Go for it, Kion. It could be a huge stepping stone for the future if you want to go professional.”

It was no surprise to see the ever bright and bouncy Anna make an appearance at the Feast, an appearance that stood out. Char chuckled to himself as he watched her skip over to Daniel with her haul. Her bubbliness just added to the happiness that he felt for Hufflepuff winning the House Cup again. Was the sphinx here to celebrate too? From what he’d heard, she was leaving Britain soon. Her plight of wanting to be where her own kind was was understood; how often had Charlie missed Sweden? Hm… perhaps he would visit there in the coming months… yes, this was a good thought.

Desiree was unusually exhausted, having spent most of the day in the kitchen baking cookies for her graduating friends and housemates. So many people graduating! Every term, it felt like the partings got harder, but that didn’t stop her from being excited for their success. She wondered how she’d feel in a couple of terms when her graduation came. For now, she was mostly just glad to have her OWLs behind her!

She arrived carrying a couple of trays of cookies and sporting a yellow and black rose crown in honor of Hufflepuff’s House Cup win. Setting down a tray full of sugar cookies frosted in the Hufflepuff colors, she gave her housemates a cheery wave. “Hi, everybody!” she greeted, beaming as she took her seat. Her smile grew as she noticed Maria’s hair ribbon. “I like your ribbon, Maria. Very festive!”

Turning her attention to Charlie and Daniel, she smiled and slid the cookie tray closer to them. “Congratulations, you two! Would you like some cookies?” There were plenty to share with the other Hufflepuffs, but she was going to let the grads have the first pick.

The other cookie tray stayed covered for now. That one was a surprise for someone else! Glancing around the hall, Desiree noticed Mouse at the Ravenclaw table and gave her a friendly, extra-princessy wave. Something else she noticed? The Sphinx at the staff dais. Such a majestic creature! Was she going to help the headmaster with his speech? Or maybe present the House Cup? That would be fun!

Kion smiled, giving a quick 'Hello' to Desiree just as the speech was beginning.. So it looks like the Sphinx wasn't helping with the speech. But what he heard still took him aback.

"Wow," Kion didn't expect that kind of speech, "I can't believe we won't have Professors Hernandez and Sayse next year," Though the Sphinx didn't seem so scary at this distance... he wasn't exactly calm enough to want to go to Egypt to see them, "Thanks," He could feel himself blushing at Maria's care for him, "You should! It'd be great if we play Gobstones together, but I'd be the first and the loudest to cheer you on for Quidditch if you get to play either," Sure he did get nervous but his girlfriend got him feeling confident enough to go out of his shell and embrace the nerves.

Kion smiled at Charlie, "Thanks, that would be a dream," He had a lot to live up to with his dad if he went that route. But he'd be willing to take it, if next years exams have anything else in store for him. Speaking of, "And congratulations on graduating, are you starting work or going to University after?" He just then noticed the food and already began piling his plate.

Tapio took a few minutes after the headmaster's speech to step over to the Hufflepuff Table. "Congratulations, all, on another fine year and on winning the House Cup. But you earned it with all your hard work. And good luck to you, Mr. Bergstrand, Mr. Yoon--we will all miss you, but I'm sure you're excited to start this new chapter of your lives." Tapio continued around the table, congratulating the other graduation seventh years. He had thought of bringing treats to celebrate the House cup, but had decided at the last minute that with all the food that was usually available at the Closing Feast, more sweets would probably be overkill. And now he saw that Miss Walles and Miss Marchand (and maybe others, for all he knew) had brought their own treats to share with their fellow students, and so he was sure he'd made the right decision. The badgers did enjoy their sweet treats, a trait he shared with them.

Keighley playfully bumped her shoulder back against Charlie's, laughing softly. "Are you sure that you're not only using that as an excuse so that you can eat even more food?" She was still obviously only joking with him. For as much as her boyfriend enjoyed snacking, especially on cupcakes, so did she and both of them were quite fit. It was a good thing they each had a sport that they loved so much, and had she mentioned how proud of him she was for making a pro team?! "I'm always busy in the summertime but that's because I try to get in as many tournaments as I can." Not too many to overwhelm herself though. "I'd like to hope you'd be tagging along whenever you can." Wants to spend as much time as she can with him.

"I have a rather large family when we all get together but I love it," she told Maria with a bright smile. "I'm the youngest of my siblings but I do have twin nieces now that are right about a year old." There was bound to be a huge celebration for that no doubt with her family. "Ohh, well I wish you luck with getting your dad's to agree to let you play one." Sports were great!

Keigh nodded in agreement with Charlie. "Most definitely. And even if you choose not to go pro with it, Kion, it's a great way to have some fun. Have you been playing very long?" She herself wasn't very good at Gobstones but she knew a few people that were.

"Hello, Desiree! I love your flower crown!" Her fellow Hufflepuff had such lovely taste in hair accessories.

Ooooh, my! The Sphinx looked so regal up on the dais in her own throne beside the Headmaster! The blonde listened quietly as the Headmaster gave his speech, announcing that two professors wouldn't be returning come September along with their friend the Sphinx. It was learned when 'Jasmine' spoke also saying that she was moving to a reserve in Egypt. Well Keigh hoped that she was very happy there!

While adding some food onto her plate, their Head of House had made his way over to their table as well. "Good evening, Professor Devries! Are you ready for summer?" She smiled warmly. If the students were ready to go home, the professors had to be just as ready of not more so, right?

Desiree positively beamed at the compliment from Keighley. “Thank you!” she replied, tilting her head to one side so the yellow and black ribbons attached to the back of her crown would fall forward. “I can make one for you if you like.” If she’d been thinking, she would’ve made celebratory accessories for all her fellow Hufflepuffs. Oh well, too late now!

Making a mental note to bring accessories for her housemates if they won the House Cup again next term, she listened to the headmaster’s speech. She applauded politely for her housemates and the graduating seventh years, but her face fell at the news of the departing professors. Sayse and Hernandez were leaving?! She wasn’t sure how to feel about that. She’d miss Professor Sayse, and Professor Hernandez… well, she might not always have seen eye to eye with him, but he did inspire her to work harder in potions. And in a way, he was responsible for her career ambitions. If he’d let her take Felix Felicis to stop her wombat transformations like she wanted, she wouldn’t have decided to become a healer. Should she tell him before he left, or would that make everything too weird?

She was jerked out of her thoughts by Professor Devries’s appearance. Thank Merlin he wasn’t leaving too! Two departing professors was plenty! “Hi, Professor!” Desiree greeted with a smile and a wave. “Would you like a cookie?” She picked up a yellow and black frosted sugar cookie to offer him.

Charlie sniffed the air. Dinner hadn’t been served yet so that scrumptious aroma was definitely not part of the house elves cooking. Looking around curiously, Desiree came into sight at the exact moment she sat. And she had brought cookies! “Hi, Des! Loving that crown.” The fifth year knew how to dress in celebration! “Thanks. I’ll give you a ‘congrats’ in advance since I already know you aced your exams.” Everyone knew his Housemate excelled at her lessons. “Yes, please. I’ll have one.” Or two if there was enough. The graduate gave Keighley his most angelic of looks. “Me? Eat more than I have to? Never.” But he was laughing because he had literally just agreed to have a cookie.

“Then I’m surely going to be following Gobstones news in search of your name, Kion.” The Gryffindor and for his other friends who joined the U17 and professional teams. “Neither. I’m going to be playing Quidditch professionally so for now, I’ll be rather busy. Maybe once I’ve adjusted to all the changes, I’ll think of furthering my studies.”

Two professors were stepping down from their posts at Hogwarts, Jasmine the sphinx was being relocated… there were so many changes. Char would be thinking of his own adventures once he left Hogwarts tomorrow, and sadly he wouldn’t be thinking of what was going on at the School much since he was going to be preoccupied. One professor he was going to miss? Professor DeVries. The man had been an excellent Head of House and professor. “Thank you.” Charlie offered him a smile. “I enjoyed being a Hufflepuff during my two years here at Hogwarts. Thanks for everything, professor.”

Charlie sniffing at the air beside her had her giggling softly as she spoke with Desiree. "Uh-huh, riiiiiight.. you just keep on telling yourself that." The blonde winked at him playfully. Bright blue eyes turned towards their slightly younger friend. "Would you? I would really like that, thank you, Desiree." Keighley smiled warmly at the offer of getting a flower crown made for her. There were many times where she had made them herself or simply woven flowers throughout her hair but tonight for some reason, she hadn't. Which was okay, she didn't always need flowers in her hair to make her happy.

Mindlessly giving a ring on one of her fingers a spin, Keigh turned her attention onto the food she had piled onto her plate a few moments earlier. Time to eat!

Tapio smiled as Desireeheld out a cookie in bright Hufflepuff House colors. He really didn't need any more sweets tonight, what with parting gifts from the Elves and the Leaving Feast, but it wouldn't do to discourage such generosity, so he reached out a large hand and accepted it. "Thank you very much, Miss Marchand. You must have gone to a lot of trouble with these."

Turning to Keighley, he responded to her question. "Oh yes, I'm very much looking forward to the holiday, Miss Anders. I will be spending it with my family this year and I can't wait to see them." Tapio hoped the summer would be as pleasant as he made it sound, but that depended on how difficult his youngest son decided to be when he and Isla sat him down and asked him some serious questions about his plans for the future.

And here was that very nice young man, Charlie Bergstrand, about to leave Hogwarts already, and it seemed like only yesterday that he'd arrived. Well, he had only been there two years. Tapio reached out his hand for a handshake. "Well, I've enjoyed having you as a student, Mr. Bergstrand, and best of luck to you. And if you ever need a reference or anything, just let me know."

Oh dear, the thought of all the seniors going off forevr was making Tapio just a bit emotioneel, so with a final smile, he retreated back to the staff table.
