This end of term feast presented a far less emotional Vera Thanatos than the year previous. Which was a miracle, given the fact she felt the term for her was nothing BUT emotions. But she'd worked through them - in majority anyways. After finally sitting down and talking to her twin about everything that had been plaguing her, she felt far more at peace. AND they already had a plan on how to get her at least somewhat up to speed before their OWLs now only a year away.

So.. it was the generally energetic Vera that entered the hall for the last time this term, finding one of her preferred spots at the Gryffindor table and taking a seat. She glanced around the room and table for any of her preferred people (which was a larger number than she'd realized) but not spotting any of them, she simply rested her arm on the table and absently picked at the wood. Someone would come around eventually. Or they wouldn't and she'd get food instead and that was also acceptable.

It was quite true that once Remy stepped through into the Great Hall this day, she believed the spotlight was well and truly on her and nobody else’s feelings mattered. This was her day, her farewell to Hogwarts. The blonde had her best set of robes on, and her hair was tied back into a tight bun. She took a moment to hover in the doorway, taking in the scene and watching familiar faces, some she wouldn’t see ever again, some she hoped didn’t stray too far once they reached graduated status.

Everything was getting too much and tears began to fill Remy’s eyes, she patted her cheeks as she could feel them burning while trying to conceal her emotions. Managing to keep them at bay, she strode to the Gryffindor table, her cheeks still flushed a little.

She was looking forward to seeing her family who would be soon waiting for her at Kings Cross Station, and had lots of plans for her future already set in place. Hopefully this wouldn’t be the last time she stood in this hall.

The End-of-Term Feast was perhaps one of Logan's all-time favourite parts of the school year. Honestly, any feast was up there on his list because food was life, though the last feast of the year was certainly one that put a little extra pep in his step. Like in years past, he was more than ready to forget all about writing essays, reading textbooks (not that he had ever actually fully read one of those), and sitting through hours and hours of lectures. Summer holiday was almost here!

Speaking of summer, there was quite a development in his summer plans. Yes, there was bound to be some sort of family trip, which was bound to be a big deal as next term all of the Paton children could be roaming the castle halls. But there was something that, at least in his opinion, was an even BIGGER deal. Something that would involve him rolling in galleons in the very near future.

"I'VE BEEN HIRED!" he announced to anyone that cared to listen the instant he clambered into the hall. Instantly he bolted toward the Gryffindor table. "I got the job!" he exclaimed as he whizzed past Remy and slid into a spot next to Vera, very much getting too close so he could immediately shove the letter in her face. "Operation Cloak is a go."

Things were basically going as normal for the petite blonde. Aside from there being a few more possibilities as to possible career ideas floating around in Sable Ileana’s head, her demeanor was rather as usual as she had bounced into the Great Hall for the end of year feast. Thoughts of what she could get up to over the summer were paramount, and the looming exams next term not as important. Next term was a long time from now, after all. Why worry about it now when there was summer ahead?

She’d glanced over toward the Slytherin table as she had passed it, looking for a familiar dark-haired figure, and then the Claw table to see if yet another familiar figure was there. She knew Vera had headed down before she had, so the likelihood Bestie’s twin had already arrived was high. Maybe. Either way, after the two glances, she’d arrived at the Lion table in time to hear Logan’s announcement.

“Who’d hire you?”, she said rather facetiously, teasing him as she slipped into the seat on the opposite side of Vera. There had been the fleeting thought to just squeeze between Logan and Bestie as he’d done earlier in the year, but she’d gone for the easier route. Either way, she’d claimed her usual spot.

Remy's arrival was the first Vera noted and while she was not particularly close to the girl, or even remembered having many conversations with her, she knew she was important to Atlas which meant at the very least congratulations were in order. Hopefully graduation WAS something she was excited about. [b]"Happy graduation, Remy!"[b] She thought about asking what was next but in the case the girl didn't KNOW it seemed like potentially being a somewhat sensitive topic. Better to not.

Logan's arrival was next. And while he was just as boisterous as usual, she was certain she would have noticed even if he hadn't been. She had been maybe looking a little bit for him while she waited. Him or Sia that was, who happened to come down not too long after. She ended up sandwiched between them, but that didn't bother her. Not like another arrangement might have.

She did notice how close Logan sat too, but she didn't move away. Not fully anyways. Rather she just leaned back the slightest bit in order to be able to properly take the paper being shoved in her face so she could read it. "You did??! That's brilliant! Congratulations!" His excitement was really kind of cute - and if someone asked she might have admitted it. "Does this say the music shop??" she asked, reading it and looking back towards him. Obviously she could read, but getting a position he wanted seemed too good to he true.

But then again, she got the role she'd been most excited for as well, she just didn't have the letter proof on her. "Between your job then and mine at Cranville's we'll have the amount saved in no time!" An exaggeration.. but maybe before graduation?

Turning her attention to the other side, fully to Bestie for a moment she inquired her upcoming plans as well. "What do you have lined up for the summer so far?? Except tons of time with me, of course." she was teasing but also mainly serious. She absolutely would bother Sia whenever she was able.

He hadn't noticed how closely he was sitting beside Vera, which, had that been pointed out to him, would have been chalked up to being so excited to share that he had secured a summer job. Which he absolutely was. However, now that a scent of something citrusy had properly hit his nostrils and registered in his mind, there was no denying the current seating situation. But he didn't move, even when Sia made an appearance. If anything he was even closer to Vera now ... obviously so he could give the other Gryffindor a proper looksie at the letter too.

"Who wouldn't want to hire me? I'm awesome," Logan responded to the blonde's teasing. "And, for the record, Atticus' Attic wants me to be their human directional," he added matter-of-factly to her while also confirming for Vera that it was indeed the music shop that had taken him on. "Just imagine ... me ... going up and down the alley, twirling a sign like a pro ... wind blowing through my hair ... the sun kissing my skin..." He hoped they were enjoying the picture he was painting for them.

As for saving up for an invisibility cloak, he beamed when Vera stated that they'd have one in no time since they both were working. "It'll definitely be worth it!" he responded, moving back to his original position on the bench. How much they'd have to work and save up just to get their hands on one though, he hadn't the foggiest. He'd leave it to Vera (or Vasco) to figure all of that out.

Now all of that had been said, he stuffed the letter in the pocket of his robes and tilted his head so he too could listen in on what Sia would be up to. Truthfully, he was half-paying attention at this point because his stomach was starting to rumble.

The younger kids seemed to not care less about her arrival, and she supposed that was NOT okay. Perhaps she hadn’t left the footprint she had wanted to, she particularly wanted to end up as the next Kinsay James, whom she remembered looking up to at a young age. For her popularity, at least. Remy found herself looking over the heads of the first and second years for some of her friends, although most at other tables.

Her last feast to endure without her Gryffindor bestie, because things felt super lonely without him.

She was surprised that Vera acknowledged her in such a way. “Awwwwww,” she held a hand to her chest and smiled humbly. “Thank you SO much, Vera, that’s so sweet. It feels exciting but sad at the same time.” She replied a little theatrically, unknowing that Vera probably was just being polite.

Maxine was a little surprised to find the end of the term had come upon them already. It all happened so fast. Her OWL year behind her (thank Merlin) and ready for results to figure out what what to do next. Seemed like she really had just started her life at Hogwarts and now it was neary the end.

But so many exciting things lay a head yet to. She looked around the the table to see who was all seated already to find someone to sit next to.

Kion was here. He did plan to sit with Maria momentarily, but appearances were necessary. He couldn't believe next year he'll be taking OWLs, but that was nothing for him to worry about now. The summer was waiting... as he was waiting on the feast.

"Hi," Kion greeted nearest him as he sat. Whoever that was, ahem. But he heard his dormmate loud and clear from where he sat by Vera, "Congrats Logan!" He smiled. "You all having a great summer ahead?" He asked nearest. It was nice being here close with the others.

It was a relief she had chosen to move away from him the smallest fraction when she had, as his suddenly moving closer to somewhat lean over her to speak with Sable Ileana had her maybe just the slightest bit red and she leaaaned back as well in her seat to make it easier for him to speak with their friend on her other side. Only when he returned to his original seating did she sit properly in hers once more. As for the imagery he was setting up? It gave her a perfect opportunity to do what she’d already determined to do - add dashes of flirting or compliments to their usual interactions to see what would happen. Outright agreeing with what he said certainly seemed like way too much to start. “It’s about time you’re able to use that charming smile for the greater good.” The greater good being them - and their invisibility cloak. “Will you have to wear a costume for the music shop? I know the bookstore makes their directional dress up like a bookworm. Are you going to be a musical note?”

While Remy’s reaction could have been seen as a touch dramatized, Vera was never one to turn up her nose at that level of energy. There was a reason drama club hadn’t even made it to the consideration of her extracurriculars she might need to drop in order to catch up in her studies. THAT was staying no matter what. Considering the older-almost-former Gryffindor seemed like she WAS chatty, Vera decided to indulge and inquire further on her plans. Maybe she already had a big glamorous life lined up post Hogwarts! “That seems to be expected! What’s next for you? The stage? Higher education? Travel?”

Maxine’s appearance was noted as she arrived and seemed to be scanning for somewhere to sit. It certainly seemed there was still plenty of space around the small, but slowly growing, group so Vera waved at her and pointed to the bench opposite side of them. “Hi Maxine! You could come join us over here!” And if she did, hopefully she wouldn’t mind TOO much ALL the questions Vera wanted to ask about how OWLs went. Was she stressing a bit too early? Yes. But for very, very good reasons.

She was a bit surprised to see Kion’s arrival at the Gryffindor table, and she found herself standing the slightest bit out of her seat so she could scan the Hufflepuff one for the familiar head of curls. “Where’s Maria??” She asked, wondering if she had any luck of quickly talking him into bringing his lovely girlfriend over HERE instead. Though considering what a rambunctious bunch they were, she couldn’t really blame them for not. At the question of summer, her eyes lit up a bit and she gave a nod. “Absolutely! It’ll be busy but… in a good way! Between Gobstones, and working, and friends and whatever else my Papa has lined up.” Which now that she said it all out loud, she realized the whole working thing might actually be less hours than she’d originally planned to put in… Maybe she could apply somewhere for a time turner? Doubtful but worth considering. “What about you? Do you and Maria have a ton of plans?”

Glancing up at the Staff Table, Vera’s mouth dropped open seeing Jasmine actually sitting up there with the Professors. Was the Sphinx actually going to be giving the speech? Or maybe they’d found her a home already and so she was here to say a final farewell to the students. That idea was a bit sad, but she was also hopeful given how homesick she had seemed to be previously. Leaning over towards Logan, she gripped his arm excitedly, giving it a small shake and gestured towards the table with her head. “Look, look! Jasmine’s here! Maybe she’ll be the one who commences the feast this time!”

A wave of warmth suddenly overcame him. Had someone just cast a heating charm in the hall as a prank, or was it just him? It took a moment for his brain to process the words that had just come out of Vera Thanatos' mouth. She thought his smile was charming? He flashed one of those at her, mostly because he didn't know how to respond but had a desperate desire to play it cool.

What he hadn't considered when applying for and accepting the job was the possibility of having to wear a costume. "Merlin, I hope not," he responded. "It's already hot enough in the summer. Having to wear a black music note costume would surely kill me!" The blond sincerely hoped the music shop was more lax when it came to expectations for their human directional. He could compensate without a costume by being his usual loud self and easily getting in people's faces if needed, thank you very much.

Logan was then distracted by the presence of Kion. He too did a glance over at the Hufflepuff table in search of Maria since the two usually were glued to each other. "Thanks, mate!" he replied. "I'll have a family trip somewhere most likely. But otherwise it'll just be the usual shenanigans when I'm not working." He too was interested to hear what his dormmate would be up to, though Vera had already taken the liberty of asking.

Speaking of Vera, was that her hand on his shoulder? This time there was no flush of warmth. There was no opportunity to overthink it as Jasmine had been pointed out, which his gaze immediately shifted to. "Maybe we'll get lucky and have her as headmistress next term." Winterbottom was chill and all, though a sphinx running your school would be quite an experience. One could dream.

Alas, the headmaster carried on with the usual speech, and then the creature announced that she would be leaving for Egypt. "Well, that's a bummer," he commented. But the food was now here, so at least there was that to brighten the mood.
