While they were working, Vera adjusted herself slightly in order to peek over his shoulder at his own work. It was obviously a cake, and he'd made it himself so it seemed like a successful class time to her. "I bet your dad will really like it." And look at him also preparing for a birthday early. Realizing she had willingly moved closer to look and that was something she was not currently supposed to do (she didn't make the rules! Except.. she did) she leaned away again discreetly shifting further on her seat from him.

As for her own card? Her drawing had gotten better with practice, but the centaur certainly wasn't beautiful. The night sky she was pretty pleased with however so she was willing to count this as a success for herself too. The sincere sounding compliment from the other lion surprised her, but in a good way and she couldn't help a small smile. "Thanks! Hopefully he thinks so too."

Attention shifted back to Professor Sayse, and Vera's from grew the slightest bit at the Professor mentioning not to get on her bad side. Ve rarely pranked out of anger or dislike, considering she couldn't even think of anyone she held ill will towards, but out of affection? Absolutely. And teachers were not exempt from that - though not to worry, Professor. She didn't have anything planned currently.

Err... Not for you, anyways.

With class dismissed, Ve quickly gathered up the supplies she and Logan had used before taking them back up to the front to put away. Maybe not as cleanly as when she'd pulled them out but.. it was the thought that counted, right? With that done, she was left to put her own items away in her bag so she could flee. Though... She found herself not moving as quickly as she would have expected. With the last item stored, she glanced towards the blonde. "I'm headed to the library so.. guess I'll see you later." She was considering making more cards, maybe for the purpose of Valentine's day though recipients had not yet been finalized. But just in case she did make one for someone... She'd rather not do it in the commons. "Er, thanks for being my desk mate. If it was something embarrassing, I guess I'd rather you have been my partner than someone else."

She didn't know what possessed her to say it, but she had and then she could feel her face begin to heat again so without another word she simply turned and headed for the exit. "Thanks, Professor Sayse!" She at least remembered her manners before scurrying towards the floor above.
