Stack of Barrels https://i.postimg.cc/zDdR39Lv/stack-...ls-banner2.jpg In a nook on the right-hand side of the basement corridor stands a large stack of barrels. To most students, such a sight might seem unimportant. However, to those who were sorted into Hufflepuff, these barrels are invaluable. Concealed behind one of these barrels is the entrance to their common room, which has not been seen by a student belonging to another house in over a thousand years. |
Liam! <3 Seeking out Rosie was not something she had particularly been looking to do in her spare time, but a package had come from home with a can of her favorite snacks and treats. And there was an extra tin marked for the Hufflepuff as well with a note with firm directions to make sure it was properly delivered. So... there really wasn't any choice but to be here. Leaning herself against the wall next to the entrance to the Hufflepuff commons, she picked absently at some lint on her robes while waiting for the younger student. She'd tried asking someone going in if they could let her know Mouse was outside, but the likelihood of finding students who knew either of the girls was probably slim given how new they were to the school. So... she supposed she could be waiting for awhile. At least there was apparently a lot of little lint balls. |

Rosie had decided that it was time to head back to her common room, she wanted to get something from her trunk, she was skipping along not paying attention until she bumped into someone. "Sor..." She started then noticed who it was. "What you doing down here?" Rosie inquired, like seriously she had no idea why she would be down here. "What do you wan?" Rosie rolled her eyes. |

And had it been anyone else that had done it, she probably would have brushed it off quickly with a smile and a check in to make sure the smol person was okay. And maybe she would have too with Rosie if it hadn't been for the immediate shift and the cut off on apology. "it's good manners to finish an apology when you're at fault you know." She commented drily, resisting the urge to roll her eyes right back at the young girl. She could hear her parental in her head. You're older, Minerva. Be the mature one. Fine, but this was the best they got. Instead of giving a verbal answer, she thrust the tin container towards the girl filled with an assortment of sweets and treats. "Here." |

"Okay I'm sorry for walking into you." Rosie said as she rolled her eyes. "Now what is the catch with these sweets." Rosie inquired, she still didn't take them, after all who knew what was in them, maybe there was a spell on them that when she ate them, she grew wings, saying that, that wouldn't be a bad thing at least she could then fly around for a bit. |

Which was too bad. Who knew, maybe they could have even gotten along. Well... That was surprising, even if it still came with a lot of attitude. ".... Thanks." She supposed. What was the catch? An eyebrow arched and she shook it a bit as it was still reached out towards the girl. "I don't know. Ask our parents, apparently. These aren't from me, I just got assigned owl duty." Because for some reason they couldn't have just sent two. "It's not like they're puking pastilles or anything." Or... if they were, that would be a really weird care package. |

"Thanks." Rosie shrugged her shoulder as she took the tin, she wasn't eating anything here not yet, she would ask an older student in her house later, if they could check for a spell. "Can you do me a favour?" Rosie shuffled her feet, she knew she'd forget about it if she had to do it. "Can you sent an owl asking for my favorite sweater, I left it at home by mistake and I keep meaning to send an owl but I keep forgetting." |

Mouse was ready to turn on her heel and make her way back towards well... wherever she needed to be next. Rosie could eat the cookies, or she could not. It didn't matter to Mouse, they weren't FROM her. Probably some effort of Papa to buy her affection back or from Rosie's mom as a peace treaty or.. whatever. But she was stopped from her retreat by the young Hufflepuff asking her for a favor. The Ravenclaw nearly snapped that no, she was not an owl and did not need to be sending a missive on Rosie's behalf. But looking back at the girl and her uncomfortable stancing, she had a moment of remembering the Hufflepuff was still just a kid. And having just as difficult of a time, if not harder, than herself. So... compromise. "I'm sure your mom would prefer to hear from you. I have to write my Dad though, so how about at dinner later I'll bring some paper and pen and remind you to write something real quick and then send them both." |

"You will." Rosie did something she never expected herself too, she hugged Minerva and smiled sweetly at her. "Thank you." Rosie was always forgetting things and that would make it easy, especially if Min would send the letter to her mum. "I'm sorry!" Rosie sighed. "I am sorry for bumping into you." She still didn't know what she thought about the other issue but she was sorry for bumping into her. |
If Rosie had thought Mouse's reaction was unexpected, it was probably nothing compared to how surprised she was by the younger girl's. UM. A hug???? The Ravenclaw didn't even know what to do with that, so her arms just kind of went halfway up into the air and stayed there - not particularly returning the affectionate gesture, but not pushing the small Hufflepuff away either. "Uh, yeah. I will." When the girl looked up and smiled at her, she gave a small smile back. "Sure, you're welcome." It was minorly annoying to have to be a remembrall for her new step sister and yet... she reminded herself again, rosie was just a kid. Oh, back to the bumping in? That felt more genuine, so Minnie relaxed a little more and shrugged. "It's fine. Neither of us got hurt." Well, she hadn't... and she assumed since the Hufflepuff didn't say anything about it, she hadn't either. "How's settling into Hogwarts going?" It was polite to ask right? It was... a sisterly type thing to do. |

She then turned to Min. "How are you enjoying it?" She didn't know how Min would find it because it must be different for her, because she was the oldest. |
Quote:
How was she enjoying it? Minnie had to consider that for a moment, a small smile playing at her lips as the new people she'd met flitted through her mind. "I like it a fair bit actually. People are pretty nice here. It's different than Beauxbatons but not really in a bad way." |
