Back at the hallway!

Bounce!

Bounce!

Bounce!

Jude made it back to the hallway as the professor had instructed. His breath was only slightly laboured {again, thank you, dance practice, for keeping him in shape!}. Once back at the wall, he hopped off of the pogo stick. And now? Now the Hufflepuff was simply going to lean his back against the wall, pogo stick brace beside him, to watch everyone else do their thing. Did anyone need help, by the way? He was only willing to help!

Arriving from corridor

After her little trip down the first floor corridor, Yukie finally made her way back to the rest of the class. The moment she hopped off her pogo stick, she felt it. The strain of the exercise. She hadn't felt it earlier because she had been busy but now that she allowed herself to breathe, she couldn't help but lean against the wall, hugging the pogo stick.

Please no more bouncing, professor.

Yukie wanted a cookie.

Off to the corridor!

Boing, boing, boing!

Desiree had almost forgotten how much fun bouncing on a pogo stick could be! It took her a couple of tries to find her footing, but once she did, she found that balancing on a pogo stick was a bit like balancing on her toes in ballet class. It just took some practice!

Hearing Professor Feirgrund’s voice, she gracefully stepped off her pogo stick to listen. He said they’d be playing a game earlier. She wondered what that might be. Maybe a pogo stick race? Or a highest bounce contest? Ooh, maybe they were going to bounce around and collect hidden prizes or something? No? Just bouncing around the corridor… okay then. That didn’t sound like much of a game, but Desiree was still up for it. It didn’t seem like a messy activity, and it was a nice change of pace from the classroom.

Desiree wobbled slightly as she stepped back onto her pogo stick but quickly steadied herself. After taking a moment or two to balance, she started bouncing. Boing, boing, boing!

Down the corridor she went!

Back from the corridor

Hope was elated that she'd managed to hop around the corner, down the corridor and back, and return to class, all without getting off her stick once! But now, as she headed back around the corner to the class area, she realized that there was one more hurdle--she needed to stop and get off this thing! As she began to slow down, she began to wobble more and more until she very nearly fell off backwards. Fortunately she managed to catch herself against the wall, but now found herself leaning against the wall, still on her stick. and struggling to step off it without an accident.

Returning from the corridor

Boing, boing, boing!

Desiree was all smiles as she bounced her way back into the hallway outside the Muggle Studies classroom. She made it all the way down the corridor and back! Sure, she did fall down once along the way, but she was still pleased with herself for doing it.

The bouncing slowed to an eventual stop as she came to a wall near the classroom. Leaning on the wall, she stepped off her pogo stick. That was fun, but now she needed to rest her legs for a bit! She glanced down at the blue pogo stick in her hand, and she wondered what Professor Feirgrund was going to do with all the pogo sticks after the lesson. Would he let the students keep them?

Staying right here lol

Brandon had gotten the balancing right. But he definitely hadn't gotten the bouncing right. When the others left to bounce around the corridor, he just kept working on his balance. He was scared to try bouncing- even if the fall didn't hurt, failing was too embarrassing. But eventually he felt like even more of a failure for not trying, so he was forced to try again. First, he tried to bounce with one hand on the wall, but he found that bouncing with no hands on the wall was actually easier. He could move more, and it was easier to move the pogo stick to correct himself when he had two hands on it. He just bounced in place.

This was a little fun!

"Doing their best" and "managing" were not words and expressions in this Gryffindor's vocabulary, especially seeing younger classmen take to the pogo stick with greater ease than himself. Granted, he hadn't even given it a proper try just yet...but he had enough experience falling on his bum in front of family and the neighbors that there was still residual humiliation. So...he was all set now. Thanks. He couldn't even really feign injury or illness at the moment either seeing as this professor was also the healer and there would be inevitable follow up.

Curse his poor center of gravity and overall lack of athleticism.

Shoulders hunching slightly, Atlas remained behind as one of those 'still working on balance' students. Not to be a crow with grapes or anything, but he didn't even want to learn how to use a stupid pogo stick anyway.

And yet...Atlas found himself leaning against the wall, his entire back pressed to it and even pushing off it with his shoulder blades a little. Then, slooooooooowly, he lifted up his left foot to one of the foot pegs and, once he stopped slanting too much to that side and found his shoulders square again, added the right. And then he held his breath - not on purpose...the ability to breathe was just a casualty of his focus at the moment - and stared at the grip tip and slide shaft with such intensity that his eyes crossed for a couple of long moments. He wasn't bouncing but he WAS balanced up against the wall and listening to the stead rhythm (ugh!) of Brandon bouncing around.

And back again.

Bounce, bounce, bounce

Maisey took her time now heading back, not as much as to be careful which she was being careful now since the little bump up. But she really didn’t want the lesson to end, imagine Maisey Wilde wanting a lesson to be longer. Never in a million years. She finally got to the classroom. She hopped over to the wall and used it to balance her enough to get off the pogo stick without another bump up with the wall.

Best lesson ever. It was decided.

After observing students work on using the pogo stick, particularly those who ventured off to the main corridor for more space to hop about. Feirgrund luckily didn't have to worry about anyone venturing off farther than that when he checked the time. "Goodness, it's about time to wrap up," Addressing everyone, "Alright, good work everyone," Especially to those attempting if not successful, "C'mon over to turn in the pogo sticks. We'll be moving on to mobile devices for muggles in our next activity. Keep a look out for the notice. Class dismissed!" The was a fine day ahead for them to enjoy.

OOC: Thank you everybody! Feel free to have them wrap up with a final post and turning in the pogo stick. The thread will close later this evening. ^_^

This had been such a great lesson! Jude had actually been considering heading off for another hop along the corridor when Feirgrund began dismissing everyone. Ohh! Mobile devices!! Jude decided that he was most likely going to enjoy that lesson even more. He pushed off the wall he’d been leaning against, brushed his hair from his face then headed off to return the pogo stick.

“Fun lesson, professor! See you around!” Pausing only to grab his belongings, Jude departed from the group. He had no classes scheduled for an hour or so… maybe a trip to the Music Room for him was in order then.

Hope had nearly fallen trying to get off the pogo stick, but managed to catch herself against the wall just in time and only stumbled a bit before catching her balance on her own two feet. But yowling wildcats, that had been fun! She was still beaming as she returned her stick.

"Thank you, Professor Feirgrund, for an excellent lesson!" she said breathlessly on her way out.
