Atlas wasn't entirely in the mood to put on gloves, truth be told. He had found that he just worked better without them and he would just deal with the ramifications of whatever came from that - which explained why his hands were a bit rough and sometimes like they could use a good soak in moisturizer. Unless it was some scalding, then he wasn't as foolishly stubborn about things. But when it came to this sort of thing...he just found that gloves hindered his productivity and they, frankly, just got in the way. So when Lisa was offering him a metaphorical olive branch a pair of gloves, his response was an immediate shake of the head for no before considering things a bit and turning a complete 180 on his thought process. "Yeah, thanks," he replied while rubbing said hands together to warm them up a bit before accepting the gloves and pulling his wand out from his pocket holster. "Hold still with those a sec?" Wand out, Atlas performed a little swish and tap on Lisa's gloves before shifting his attention to his own. "Prehenso." The gloves were already supposed to help with grip...but a little extra assistance from a Gripping Charm couldn't hurt anything.
"Yup," he nodded. He might not be able to actually do any heavy lifting himself, but he knew the physics behind it. "Feet shoulder shoulder-width, bend at the knees, keep your back as straight as possible, and just...hug the pot like you're hugging your brother after not seeing him for a long while." That was meant to be a guide for Lisa seeing as Atlas knew just how close the Nam family was but it was also...well...anyway. ANYWAY. " Once we get the pot lifted off the ground, we'll just have to walk our hands under to the bottom to make it easier."
Taking a steadying breath and making sure that his own feet were firmly planted, the seventh year looked over the top of the pot to Lisa. "On the count of three then. Unu...doi.........trei!"
Oops. How did you get in there, Romanian?
Yes, the increase in volume WAS necessary considering how bloody heavy this stupid pot was.
Grunting and gritting his teeth slightly as he began to lift, he mentally groaned as Nora chose NOW of all times to decide to come back and acknowledge his earlier words. "Can we...talk about..." he muttered, voice a bit strained as he continued to lift and adjust his hands into a better position towards, hopefully, the bottom of the pot. "...this a little later, Nora? Kind of...busy here..."
Yeah, busy trying not to drop this pot on Lisa or his own foot. Maybe he should have started with a smaller pot and not his ego.

Hearing Khanna say something to her as she started to head off toward the rest of the plants, Nora turned back around. "Everything is new to me--spellwork, plants, creatures, you name it. If I showed up at your office every time I got overwhelmed, I might just be there so much you'd start kicking me out," she said with a laugh. She was only joking, but in a way, it was kind of true. She spent most of her day being overwhelmed by everything, but it was honestly getting a lot better. "Thanks, though. I'll remember that." Besides, the tea and scones sounded really inviting.
As she approached the plants, Nora overheard DeVries say something about house points. That was something new to Nora, too. Apparently, it was all part of some big competition. So that brought her grand total of house points she'd earned to...three.By that point, she'd reached the plants that still needed to be moved. She wrapped her gloved hands around a second one and started toting it off toward the tent, as well. Magical plants didn't seem so bad after all. Apparently, the worst she'd heard they might do is scream at her.

Keighley smiled warmly at Devries. "That I can do, Sir." Nod nod. If they were going to be working together it would be best for her to select a plant that she could easily carry, much like she had with the first one she had chosen. Keeping up with the person she was working along was important. What she didn't want to do was slow the professor down at all.. but she also didn't want to overwhelm herself either.
Looking around, the blonde found a potted plant that she knew for she would be able to carry without any worries. Finding the one that she liked, Keigh positioned her hands at the base and lifted it up into her arms, cradling it very gently back against her chest. When Devries returned she walked over to meet him, falling into step alongside the professor. "If you ever have any trouble with anything, Nora, I'd be happy to help you as well." That went to anyone that needed assistance with anything. If she was able to help in anyway, she would.

Nora had a feeling Atlas wouldn't be answering her questions right away. The older boy had somehow busied himself with the heaviest pot around. She took a few steps backward but kept her eyes locked on the pot. Did they need any help with that? She kind of figured she was in the way, though...with any possible offer to help and with her questions. Atlas himself confirmed that a second later. "Uh, yeah. No problem," she answered. Besides, Keighley had chimed in with an offer of her own right around that time, too.
It was official--the students at Hogwarts were much nicer than the students in muggle school. No one in muggle school had ever been mean to Nora, but as a whole, the students at Hogwarts seemed to be more willing to make friends and help one another out. "Thanks," she said to Keighley. Nora still wasn't ready to admit it, but she was starting to really enjoy the fact that she had been whisked away to this magical school in this magical world. Could it be that she was finally finding her way?
She sighed to herself and picked up a third plant from the pile. After this, maybe she could start working on moving some of the other items. No magic, though. Not even on the items they were allowed to use magic on. She still didn't think she was knowledgable enough to start waving her wand all on her own and coming up with practical spells outside the safety of the classroom walls. She delivered the plant to the tent and placed it securely with the previous two she'd brought over. Now...what else needed to be done?

Then, overhearing several students talking about the earmuffs, he raised his voice so they could hear and said, "And don't worry about the earmuffs--they're for a class we're having later. You should need them today--as long as you follow my instructions." Which, as Tapio knew from teaching and parenting, did not always happen. But, nothing lethal would happen even if they didn't, or he wouldn't be using students to help with this. It would just be blasted inconvenient.
Had she spoken loud enough for Professor DeVries to hear her question to Pheonix? Apparently so since Prof. DeVries felt it pertinent to bring up the earmuffs to everyone, and that they if they followed his instructions wouldn't be needing them today. Maria wonderd though how long it would take before a too curious student ruffled the shielded plants feathers so to speak. Her duty was though to move materials.
SPOILER!!: Pheonix

"Plus it will give us spell practice." See? Fun and practical, which was win-win in Phoenix's book.
Vera agreed with his thought about maybe there were mandrakes under the coverings and Phoenix nodded. And apparently Maria thought so too. "There are other plants that earmuffs are recommended," he clarified, thinking about screeching saps and a few other loud plants. "But I can't think of any where they are required." So he figured mandrakes was possible and somehow seemed the most likely.
And he was just about to answer Maria's question that no he did not think they would need the earmuffs to do the work asked of them, otherwise the professor would have told them to put them on... but Professor DeVries beat him to the answer so he simply shrugged. "Well, let's get started, I guess. The quicker we start, the quicker we finish." Then maybe they could have the rest of the afternoon free for some actual fun.
"Wingardium Leviosa!" Phoenix pointed his wand at a bag of fertilizer to levitate it towards the greenhouse.
Mandrakes or not her teams assignment was to move materials so Maria decided that her focus should be on that. It was though very tempting to lift the cloth over the plants to see what was underneath, but the badgerette didn't feel in the mood to awaken their professors wrath for not following instructions. She then would be able to say goodbye to free house points and would probably get detention.
Reaching for her wand, she pulled it from its holster as she turned her eyes to Pheonix as he willed them to get started. Vera was still waiting on Milo's yes or no so it was up to them to get going. "Wingardium Leviosa!" Maria casted as she pointed her wand at another bag of fertilizer that she began levitating towards greenhouse one, walking after Pheonix, trying to quicken her pace she called after him "Pheonix wait for me! Wants to grab a snack after we're done with the fertilizer?"
Snacks and house points? Cool. Phoenix felt a little better about doing all this manual labor knowing that he'd be even a little rewarded. Not that he had any issue with helping, especially when he was doing it with friends, but this made the effort worth it.
He continued to levitate the fertilizer bag towards the greenhouse, though slowed down a bit when he heard Maria calling after him so she could catch up if she wanted. "Sure, sounds good to me," he replied with a smile to her offer of getting snacks together. "Hopefully we can get this done quickly then because I could use a snack." Of course he didn't know just what snacks Professor DeVries had, but he usually wasn't too picky. And, as a growing boy, he was usually pretty hungry. "Do you need any help?" Otherwise, he was just going to keep levitating supplies.
