As much as her homesickness lingered for Papa and Scoot, Vera also found she was glad to be back at school and sharing the comfort of her dorm with best friend and the other dorm mates. They were a good group, and she liked them all a fair bit. Though.. she still found herself primarily putting herself in Sia's bed for late night talks and sleepovers than anyone else. Which was where the brunette currently was, curled up with her legs underneath her sitting one bestie's bed and folding some pieces of paper. She'd realized that her energy might be just a littttttle bit off putting to most, so origami was her new ~calming~ method.

Did it work? She didn't particularly think so, but sometimes her mouth was too busy with her tongue outside of it in concentration to talk as much as she usually did. So perhaps it was actually a blessing for all.

Finishing up a crane on nautical paper, she raised it proudly to show her Sia. "Tada! I think this one looks like a really good improvement compared to.... well, all of them." She pointedly looked at the sad pile of crumpled papers at the foot of the bed.

It had been rather easy to fall back into the normal patterns of life at Hogwarts, especially given the fact Sable Ileana was much more confident that her people back home, as well as her crup, were good and there had been plenty of promises made as to getting regular owls from home regarding anything that went on while she was away. Secretly, she was kind of hoping to find out that her cousin and Juli were going to have a baby. Since it meant even more members of her eventual real crew. Because obviously any cousins were automatically part of it all. She just knew it wouldn’t work to actually annoy them about it. Sterling entertained her ideas but she also understood he did his own thing. She was old enough to know that now, but it was fun to hope for news of that sort.

Plus, she had Bestie here, and her notebook. The origami thing hadn’t caught her attention as much as it had Vera, but she had her own methods of calming her mind. Namely, said notebook and getting her ideas down on paper. Obviously to share with Vera during their little sleepovers.

Her blonde head had raised from the page she was scribbling a rudimentary sketch of their pirate ship on as Vera had broken the silence. “Awesome. Not that I really thought any of the others were that bad, y’know?”, she replied with a grin. Maybe they could implement a message service with all the paper cranes. Even if some of them were kind of wonky, they could be useful. Ideas.

Clearly Sia was the most supportive friend in existence, and Vera beamed at her and her words as she reached over to pat her arm, careful to make sure it was the one not holding pencil so she wouldn't accidentally mess up her sketch. "They were horrible. But thank you for the lie." She gave a small giggle, before then streeeeetching herself to place the GOOD crane on Sia nightstand - considering obviously the first success was for bestie.

Looking back at all the unfolded papers, she decided she was done for a bit and carefully placed paper back into her bag while all the sad attempts were unceremoniously kicked off onto the floor. She'd pick those up later and throw them away. Perhaps use them as levitation practice! With her own activity then 'cleaned up', she moved more towards the head of the bed so she could look at what Sable was working on. "Oooh you've made our ship look even MORE regal than it usually is. Do you think this term we should work on designing and sewing our own flag for it?" They could make a special sigil and everything, if the blonde had not already.
