The Three Broomsticks is the most well-known pub in the small village, which is why it is often rather crowded with students and adults alike. The outside of the building is a good preview of what the inside may look like with the same steep roof as the surrounding buildings with a sign featuring the legendary three broomsticks, all fixed around a lantern to light the patrons' way. It certainly looks better kept than the Hog's Head down the street.
Once you enter the pub, the warmth of the large stone fireplace great you as you place hats and coats by the door. Directly in front of you there are tables and booths lining the majority of the small hall with oil lamps placed on each one. On winter days it is usually hard to find a place beside the large fire grate; however, if you're early enough, you can bet your galleons that you'll be nice and toasty by the fire. To the left is the bar where the bartender waits to take your order.

Autumn was pleased to have a date for her visit to Hogsmeade this weekend. That was always the best way to go to Hogsmeade, in her opinion, or to hang out with a few of her closest girlfriends. The prospect of going alone was really lame, though she was a strong, independent woman and she was sure she would manage that flawlessly if she had to. But this was much better. And she enjoyed Benjee's company.
She had suggested the Three Broomsticks once they'd made the walk into the village, hoping that it wasn't too crowded. It was kind of the hot spot and she wasn't all that keen on Madam Puddifoots. The Hogs Head could be an interesting choice too, though she wasn't sure about it for a date spot. It seemed a little seedy and like a place to go on a dare... though if Benjee wanted to, she wouldn't say no. She probably needed to visit it at least once before she graduated.
Fingers intertwined with his, Autumn paused once they were inside to look around, assessing the crowd and looking for a place to sit down. "Oh look, that table by the fireplace opened up," she observed, glancing at Benjee after seeing a few people getting up to leave. "Want to sit there?" It sounded pretty cozy to her.

It really was a good thing that Autumn was so transparent about her wants, the likes and the dislikes, because his default was to go do Puddifoot's...mostly for the people watching. It was so stupidly cliché a location and seeing people just put themselves into that box willingly was its own brand of entertainment. Though...the last time that had been the date plan had ultimately resulted in the foggy grey appearance that was his left eye. Though, he would like to point out, the date itself had been just fine. It was the train ride to school at the start of term where all of it had been shot to hell.
All this was to say that Autumn was a breath of fresh air - air that had been a little difficult to catch when she had come out of the dorm and he saw what she was wearing. Or rather...how she wore the clothes. Even more of a surprise was the whole hand holding thing in public (they did that now??), which was a surprise easily dismissed because he had asked her on a casual date as a change of pace from the dorms and broom closets. He had taken a bit of a page from Brandon's book when it came to his fashion choices, at least as of late, since he had a new found respect for his brother after everything...and especially after trying to navigate life at Hogwarts without his brother AND sister around (it blew like an overheated cauldron, for the record).
"Sure," he nodded. Honestly anywhere suited his needs as he was hardly fussed about any particular location. See? Her wants and needs being so transparent coming in a clutch. So, with his long strides, leads them over to a booth and lets her slide in first. "Do you already know what you want? I'll head to the bar and order it now," he asked, not sitting down just yet to spare his aching joints a bit of the strain. It had been a cold morning and that always made his joints a little more non-compliant.

Letting go of Benjee's hand once they got to the table, Autumn slid into the seat, moving over a bit to allow him to sit next to her if he wanted. Or across from her worked too. Both had their benefits and she would leave that up to him. And if he had been surprised that she had taken his hand in hers, she hadn't noticed. They were on a date, after all, and she felt like holding his hand on their walk to Hogsmeade, so that's what she was going to do.
But she looked up at him as she slipped her jacket off her shoulders, now that they were inside, revealing her outfit once more. Autumn had seen how he looked at her when she met him in the common room, she liked how he looked at her, and she certainly wouldn't mind if he kept looking at her like that. She also appreciated how he dressed for her as well, finding him to be very stylish in general. And she'd have to find an appropriate time to let him know that, but first..
"Oh, um.." She actually hadn't thought about what she'd want once they'd gotten there, but she wasn't too fussed. And she figured it was probably a good idea for him to go get their order before settling in next to the fire for a little while, so she didn't bother with a menu. "Surprise me. I'm easy." She gave him a bright smile, certain she'd be happy with whatever he chose. "But a hot chocolate, please! Could you see if they might have a little pinch of cinnamon they could put in it?" He probably wouldn't be too surprised with that request. "Can you manage everything?" It might be a lot to handle for just two hands, depending on what all he ordered, but she really should probably save their seat because next to the fireplace was prime real estate.

He had the urge to perform a squat or two, the feeling of there being a sort of built up pressure, like an air bubble, between the bones that formed his kneecap was becoming increasingly uncomfortable. Doesn't though, because it was beg too many questions in the moment...not to mention look absolutely ridiculous for him to do that here at the side of their table.
Pushing past the internal smirk at her self description, he paused in anticipation for her to realize that there was something specific on her mind that she wanted. She did this often, did she know? Started with the standard girl thing of 'anything is fine' but quickly whipped around and stated something quite blatantly she desired. "Cinnamon hot chocolate, got it," he chuckled, twisting one of his dreads between his fingers as he turned to head over to the bar. Maybe the bloke was having an off day, but the order of two hot cocoas, one with extra cinnamon, and a double serving of fresh fruit (it seemed the safest option on the menu considering how strict Autumn was with her diet) and put the man off and a swift denial to customize any of the recipes instated. Which was...irritating, but Benjee came prepared.
Paying and carrying the tray over to their table, he set her mug down first and then the bowl of fruit (with two forks) and finally his mug. The tray slid across to the other side of the table and he slid in beside her. "Well," he sighed, arm lazily moving to drape over her shoulders. "...guy must have stepped in a pile of hippogriff dung this morning, because he wasn't having it with a custom order." His other hand reached into his pocket where he pulled out a small square, and clearly handmade, brown packet that he then slide over to her with his finger. "But I still got you covered. You are just going have to DIY it this time."
He had perfected the balance of cinnamon to roll in his confectionary recipe and it was just easier to measure everything out and store it accordingly. So...he had a small box of cinnamon packets in his store. And since she tended to like adding cinnamon to things, maybe even sprinkled on fruit for all he knew, he had tucked a few into his pocket for their date.
"You can thank me later," he added, entirely too smug to be considered thoughtful.

Though he wasn't gone long, Autumn spent the few minutes she waited for Benjee to return warming herself up by the fire as she leaned towards the fireplace at the edge of the seat. They really were lucky to have come when they did so they could snag this table. She also had a good view of the rest of the restaurant from where she was sitting, not that she was looking for anyone else in particular. Benjee had the privilege of her full attention when he was with her. But she did sometimes just like to see what was going on.
She shifted her eyes towards her date as he was ordering up at the bar now and then gave him a sweet smile when he turned back towards her to head back to the table with their order. Autumn wondered what he was going to surprise her with, brightening as she saw a big plate of fruit. She loved fruit, especially peaches.
"Ooh, this looks delish," she told him, pleased with his selection, as she slid over a bit to allow him a seat next to her. He did seem to know her pretty well. She snuggled up next to him as he put his arm around her shoulder, but her smile soon disappeared in disappointment as she realized what he meant. "No cinnamon?" She supposed it wasn't the end of the world, but it had sounded really good with her hot chocolate. And then she gasped in delighted surprise when he pulled out a packet of cinnamon just for her.
"Oh Benjee, you're the best!" Autumn leaned up and kissed his cheek, giggling softly at his words. "I will thank you later," she whispered close to his ear before kissing the spot just below it. Entirely too pleased with him for being this thoughtful, she happily sprinkled the cinnamon over her hot chocolate and gently blew on it before taking a sip.
"Are you thinking about going home for break?" With the Easter holiday quickly approaching, it had been on her mind lately.

He really was racking up the points and he was particularly looking forward to cashing them in once they returned to the castle - the promise of this was tingling on his cheek. He was tempted to reach up and touch it, but that was immature and would knock his suave points down several pegs. Settling instead for his hand, the fingers, tracing circles over her shoulder blade and smirked. "I know." Or at least he pretended to know that he was the best. The cocky bloke he had been was still there, but muted. Humbled by life and experience but still with plenty of pride and high standards.
"What is it with you and cinnamon anyway?" he asked, genuinely curious though suspecting it was likely as simple as just liking the flavor. "Something tells me it doesn't have to do with the anti-diabetic and antioxidant properties..." He paused, glancing at her with a slightly cocked brow. "You taking a page from Cleopatra?" The connection you made when actually paying attention to your history readings and applied yourself. Go figure.
Picking up his fork and stabbing a strawberry in the bowl of fruit salad, he idly turned the fork in his hand and watched the way the dim lighting in the Three Broomsticks reflected off the red skin. "Yeah...probably see about spending most of it with my brother and sister at their flat. Sure my parents will want me home for a bit as well." Still under a tight watch because of everything. But, in all honesty, the helicoptering was still better than being at Hogwarts. "You got some sort of spring training camp or something to go to?" He figured that may be the case, what with the summer just around the corner and U-17 season approaching.

Simply delighted at Benjee's thoughtfulness and foresight, and just general getting her way, Autumn sipped gently at her hot chocolate, savoring the addition of cinnamon. It really did heighten the flavor and added just a hint of something special. And she happened to like his pride and high standards, amused by his agreement of her exclamation. She found confidence to be very attractive, if he didn't already know.
Autumn reached to stab a piece of a peach with her fork, then settled back against Benjee's shoulder, looking up at him as he spoke. "Mm? No, I suppose not," she chuckled lightly. "Added benefits though. I just like the way it tastes," she admitted with a soft shrug. "It's just the right amount of spicy and sweet." And a little special when added to something like hot chocolate. Plus it helped to add a little extra flavor to things sometimes, having an otherwise strict athletic diet. She did not know the connection between cinnamon and Cleopatra so she gave him a curious look. "What do you mean?" She knew Cleopatra was a ruler and a strong, independent woman, so she was quite curious. And then.. "What's your favorite flavor?" It suddenly struck her as odd that she did not know, especially since he knew hers so well.
She chewed thoughtfully on her bite of peach and nodded in understanding as he mentioned his break plans. "I'm sure that will be nice to see your family." She missed her own sister and figured she'd have her own family plans. "Yes, we'll have some practice, but we also have tryouts over break so I'll be interested in how that goes. We need two new chasers this year." And since they were part of her trio, she was especially invested because they needed a good dynamic. "It'll be weird that this is my last year on the team," she mused, though that would mean good things too.

~ Mrs. Steve Harrington ~ It be like that sometimes.
Jude had spent a great deal of the morning with his sisters and they had spent the majority of their time on their. The result? Jude’s soles were aching but he was happy. It had been an enjoyable and calm day for him so far. He aimed to have it finish on a high note. Certainly it would? Especially now that it was time to hang out with the best friend.
The Hufflepuff hugged himself a bit as he stepped into The Three Broomsticks. His cheeks were flushed from the cold outside and Reagan had gotten her way: his hair had refused to stay stuck behind his ear so as usual it hung in his face, obstructing some of his vision. But he was used to it. The pub was significantly warm so after finding a booth {luckily he managed to grab one by the fireplace as the occupants happened to depart at the same time}, he removed his coat but kept his rainbow coloured beanie on; the beanie happened to be his favourite. His feet? They were grateful for the rest.
Facing the entrance to the place, his eyes fixed casually there as his magenta coloured nails drummed on the table. He’d wait until Evan got here so they could order together. The Hufflepuff was rather ravenous.
It was interesting how unremarkable 17 felt as compared to 16. He was legally an adult now, sure, but until he finished an apparition class or had time during the summer to go with Ash to a tattoo parlor... it was really just all the same as it had been before. He supposed there was a new assortment of beverages he could order, but he had no intention of doing so - especially without his older brother when they already had made plans via mirror.
Entering the Three Broomsticks, Evan was already reaching for the scarf around his neck to loosen it as the heat of the pub hit him. It was quite pleasant in here, and spotting Jude with a spot by the fire, Evan knew he definitely would not have need of his outer wear. Shedding his jacket as he moved as well, Ev smiled at the Hufflepuff before draping it all over the back of his chair and having a seat. "Hey, Jude. Did you order already?" He assumed not, but figured he should ask. He adjusted the sleeves of his sweater, pushing them up a bit on his forearms and trying to not break the friendship bracelet Ash had given him. He was definitely still not used to anything on his arms. "Did you come down with your sisters?"

Jude spotted Evan the moment the Ravenclaw strolled through the door. Grinning, he lifted his left hand and waved it a bit to grab Evan’s attention. It was always so crowded in here and he didn’t want the other boy to miss him. “Hey, Ev!’’ The Hufflepuff made a face then grinned again. “Did you really think I was going to order without you?” Nope, nope! That wasn’t something he wanted to do. Dark brown eyes honed in on the bracelet on Evan’s hand. “Spent all morning with them out on High Street and all the shops around there. I think my feet need a proper massage,’’ he half joked.
Then Jude pointed to the bracelet. “Is that something new? I like it, it’s very pretty.” At that moment, he remembered something else which he had figured that it would be better to wait a few days at least. “So… does it feel any different being of age? And uh… my present… I hope you liked it??” Said present hadn’t been much - just a photo frame containing a collage of moving pictures of the two of them: a few from Ko’s wedding that included one of the dancing together, others from regular moments when they hung out together. There was an ulterior motive behind the gift: Jude didn’t want Evan to forget him after graduating and being out in the world meeting new people. It would suck majorly if that happened.
Evan chuckled at the question the Hufflepuff posed, shaking his head slightly. "No, not really. But I wouldn't have blamed you if you had." Because one could always order second drinks or snacks, couldn't they? "Decide already what you'll get?" He squinted to peer over the menu himself, trying to decide on something. "Sounds like a good time too though. What were they up to for the rest of the day?" Hopefully something fun!
He glanced down at the bracelet, before giving a nod of his head. "Gift from Ashley." Outside of Jude, Ash was probably one of the people Evan felt the closest too. "I like it too. I don't usually do bracelets but it's a nice change." Besides, his artsy friend was pretty good at picking the best color combos. The question got a chuckle from him as he shook his head, "It feels very much the same. Maybe it'll be different after I get my apparation license." Until then, just another day with a new number for his age. The question of the gift brought a wider smile to his face as the Ravenclaw nodded. "I liked it a lot. Thank you!" Had he known there was ulterior motives, he would have informed Jude being considered about that was entirely unnecessary. There was no way he wouldn't remember him.

True, second rounds could be ordered but this was Jude we’re talking about. The guy would happily wait on his best friend for as long as he needed to before placing the order though. “Uh huh. Chicken noodle soup and hot cocoa.” For some reason Davet he had gotten addicted to the latter. “What about you? I can grab our order.” When Ev was ready, of course, since the Ravenclaw was squinting over at the menu in a manner Jude found comedic. “It was! Rea got all dramatic and practiced some of her acting on us, Keigh was her usual sweet self. Rea mentioned something about trimming her hair so she asked Keigh to visit the salon together.”
Jude took his time to admire the bracelet a bit more. “Change can be good,’’ he said, absently toying with the fluffy bobble on top of his beanie. He grinned at the mention of an Apparation license. “I’m so jealous of you and Rea!” No, he wasn’t really but he did envy them both a bit. “She’s going to hit seventeen in three months and that’s all she’s focused on now. Oh, by the way… I see a difference in you.” Jude’s expression turned serious. “There’s a wrinkle on the side of your eye… must be the beginnings of a crow’s feet… in other words, you’re getting old there, Nam.” Could Jude laugh now? Because he was DYING to! Was it just him or was Evan doing a lot of smiling? Not that Jude was complaining; it was nice seeing his friend happy. At least the present was well received and the fact had Jude lighting up. “Awesome! And that YOU for the gloves! I dunno why but my new favourite thing is to play the piano with them on.” Jude had mentioned to Evan after a Charms class that he was a fan of the particular gloves Mancini had made them wear for the climbing activity. Little had he known how considerate his friend would be by getting a few pairs for him!
Chicken noodle soup and hot cocoa DID sound good and he considered the chocolatey drink for a moment before deciding on his order. "I think I'll do a butterbeer and Shepherd's pie. Thanks." He turned attention from the menu to his friend, giving a small smile. "That sounds nice. What was she acting out today?" Nice of Keighley to also accompany her for a haircut.
Change could be good he supposed, though Evan was generally so opposed to it. "I... had honestly forgotten about it until someone asked if I was getting it. I probably should have been prepping earlier." But no matter, it's not like it was a required as soon as he was of age. Plus, his dad's position did mean they occasionally had driver's available for where they needed to go. Evan didn't like to impose on them, but when the need arose he was not fully unknown to ask for assistance with a ride. It WOULD be nice though he supposed to be able to just... go wherever and whenever. His eyebrow raised at the mention of a difference, before what was spotted was mentioned and Evan couldn't help a snort and an amused smile. "I think that's always been there. You must just not have noticed. Lisa has always been pretty adamant I act like I'm 80." Truthfully, Evan was such a terrible gift giver whenever someone mentioned liking something he always filed it away for an idea later. He was horrible at coming up with anything on his own, and when forced to usually resorted to sweets of some sort. Jude having been so enamored with the gloves really had been a perfect opportunity for a gift and Evan had ordered them immediately proceeding. He was relieved Jude still liked them and hadn't already acquired a different pair. "You're welcome! I'm glad you still needed a few pairs."

“One buttereer and Shepherd's pie coming right up! Be right back, okay?” With a grin, Jude bounced off his seat and headed to place and pay for the order, bobble bouncing as well with each step he took. There was a bit of waiting to do obviously but the whole while he did so, Jude tapped his fingers on the counter in time to a melody running through his mind. But the order came eventually and with a word of thanks, levitated the entire order back to his and Evan’s table. “Here you are, Ev!” With immense concentration, the dishes were magicked onto the table - all without spilling a thing. He was SO ready for Charms OWL!
Jude slid back into the booth, continuing their conversation as though it hadn’t been paused. “Oh, nothing in particular. Just being dramatic about Keighley and I ganging up on her.” He picked up his spoon. “Keigh just happened to disagree with her on something she said about my hair. But Rea wasn’t mad or anything… just overly dramatic. And loud. So, very loud.” His eardrums still hurt.
Hang on… Evan had actually forgotten about Apparation?! The Hufflepuff found this bit of news amusing. “Why am I not surprised that you forgot?’’ he asked with a soft chuckle, his eyes on the soup because he was busy trying to get a generous bit of the squiggly noodles on his spoon. “Please, Ev. You’re going to master it in no time. I bet you even have all of the theory memorised. You’re great at magic already.” Successfully heaping his spoon with noodles and broth, Jude swallowed the first of the delicious soup. It couldn’t have been more perfect for the weather right now. “No, no. It has not always been there,” he said seconds later, laughter in his voice. There was no wrinkle on his friend’s face and if there had been, Jude would have noticed because of all the time he spent secretly staring. “Eighty? More like a hundred! You’re an ancient man trapped in a seventeen year old’s body.” When it came to gifts, the fifth year didn’t think that Evan was bad at gift giving at all. Some of his favourite gifts he had gotten were from the bestie. "I meant to ask you... would you be up for helping me study? I mean, I know you've got other friends who need you plus there's Maya. So if you're not too busy...?" Jude felt that the was finally up for hanging around the Ravenclaw more now.
"Sounds good. Thank you." With Jude gone to order and wait for their food, Evan glanced around the rest of the room at all their fellow peers gathered. Given how big Hogwarts seemed to be, it always felt surprising to him that the much smaller shops didn't have a problem accommodating the visiting students. Although with so many options, he imagined it was rare for them all to crowd into one singular shop rather than spread themselves out. Surprising to him, considering Honeydukes and the Three Broomsticks were the only places really of worth for visiting.
In what seemed like no time, Jude was back and with their food. The Ravenclaw smiled his thanks, taking his napkin and a fork and wiping it off real quick before taking a bite. "Mmm. I forget how much I like shepherd's pie. It's not something you see a lot in the States." But one of his favorites since their move.
"Reagan? Dramatic? I can't even picture it." He teased softly, before taking a sip of his butterbeer as well. "Did she want you to cut your hair or something? I noticed it seems like you're growing it out lately."
Not remembering was something he was merely chalking up to the fact he was a muggleborn, but still... Ev smiled a bit sheepishly. "I think I was more focused on the idea of my driver's license. Which I've known about much, much longer." And he had his test for that the next summer. "I don't know about that... apparation isn't even something I've looked into before. I really don't know much about the mechanics of it." Er.... theory? The immediate aging got an amused eyeroll from the Nam, as he took another bite of his food. "You guys really are trying to get rid of me faster by aging me up so much." But they also had a point. He didn't do very many things that were... age appropriate. Though he also wasn't really sure what that would be.
The question of assistance for studying got an eyebrow raise, but a pleased smile glad that Jude was initiating them hanging out again. Evan had been wanting to give him his space for as long as he needed. "Of course I can help you study. Whenever you need and want assistance."

Had Jude known that Shepherd’s pie was something Evan missed so much of, he’d have made it a lot for him. “Shepherd’s pie is the first dish I learnt to make. Mum taught me a few summers ago because it’s one of my favourites. I could teach you… if you like? That way you can make it whenever you want.” He might sound casual about the whole scenario but here he was thinking that this was yet another thing he and Evan had in common. Opting not to point out the obvious, Jude spooned up broth, laughing as he did so because of the Ravenclaw’s comment. “You have to be there to believe drama can actually be a person,’’ he replied, playing along. “She thinks I look better with it all over my face rather than having it tucked back behind my ears.” Truthfully, he didn’t mind either and Keigh had said pretty much the same thing. “Oh yeah!” The Hufflepuff grinned. “I actually prefer it long so I think I’ll be keeping it for a while. Dad LOVES telling me it needs to be cut and that he’d gladly do the honours.” Jude laughed softly, still rather much amused with his father.
The fifth year was rather intrigued to hear that Evan was more eager about having a driver’s license. It made sense given that Evan was probably far more familiar with that. “Whatever you’re comfortable with, Ev! As long as you agree to occasionally be my chauffeur, I’ll happily take you on side-long whenever the need arises. So. Do you think your parents would get you your own car? Like as a graduation present or something?” Jude sniggered at the age thing. “Me?" He widened his eyes innocently. "Never!” The guy would never want to be rid of his best friend!
The fifth year breathed a sigh of relief. He knew there was no resentment between the two after all that had happened. For a time he had worried there might be because Jude had just withdrawn from spending time with Evan without a warning. Despite that Evan had seemingly understood and Jude would always be grateful. Their friendship was certainly a strong one. “Great! Thank you, Ev. Erm… how good are you with Vanishing Spells? Those are a nightmare, to be honest.”

Daniel looked awful. His skin was dull, he had dark circles under his eyes, and he hadn't even bothered to style his hair today. He was both mentally and physically stressed from studying for his OWL exams, so when the trip to Hogsmeade was announced, the Hufflepuff decided to go alone and enjoy the village.
He'd been wandering around for a while, going in and out of shops until he decided to warm up in the Three Broomsticks with a glass of butterbeer and something to eat. The fifth-year ordered at the bar and then walked over to an empty table and sat down.
Daniel leaned forward, his elbows on the table, taking a sip of his butterbeer before biting into the strawberry shortcake he had ordered. He was lost in thought as he ate, looking around at the crowd.

He'd consider skipping this Hogsmeade weekend, deciding that perhaps some studying could be beneficial to him in the long run, but when everyone else started filtering from the castle - Evan found himself bundling up as well against the brisk air and following along after them. He desperately hoped for an afternoon remaining human so that he wouldn't cause a ruckus in any of the shops, but decided still the possibility of not wouldn't stop him from enjoying the day.
Which was why he headed first to the Three Broomsticks for a warm butterbeer and a serving of shepherd's pie. Ordering both and receiving them, he took a glance around the room to find an open spot to sit. He passed over a couple of familiar faces, but didn't want to bother anyone and was going to head to just an open single spot by the fire - when he caught site of Daniel Yoon and paused. He looked... different. Exhausted, really.
Evan weighed the options for a moment, trying to decide if he should bother his sister's year mate or move along, before deciding that at least checking in couldn't do any harm. Moving that direction, the Ravenclaw slid into the seat opposite the Hufflepuff. "Good afternoon. It's nice to see you out and about."

His gaze had been fixed on the table opposite where he sat. But although he was looking at the few students who were chatting away, he didn’t exactly notice them. He ate from the strawberry shortcake and wondered if he should head back to school to continue learning for his Ancient Runes exam when he caught the movement of someone taking a seat opposite of him.
Tired eyes focused slowly on the person to see that it was Lisa’s brother. He looked behind him, expecting to see her with him but then figured that she, of course, had her own set of friends she’d rather go with. He liked his own brother, even if he pretended that he didn’t, but he’d rather not spend time with him in Hogsmeade.
Daniel placed his fork on the table and took hold of the butterbeer. He took a large sip this time while Evan spoke and as he placed down the glass he wiped the ‘white mustache’ off his face and he shrugged his shoulders once ” I needed to get some fresh air” fresh air that was not the grounds around Hogwarts castle. ” Have you ordered anything yet? The line is quite long” he said before he noticed the butterbeer and shepherd's pie on the table. ” Oh…” he didn't understand how he had missed it. He was usually observant of his surroundings. He ran a hand through his hair, feeling a bit embarrassed, and continued to eat.

Even closer to Daniel now, Evan could see even more signs of exhaustion than he had at the previous glance. OWL year was stressful, but there were still months to go before the exams themselves and the Hufflepuff looked at the edge of a burn out. He picked up his own fork, taking a small stab of his food in front of him and taking a bite as he considered the boy.
"Fresh air is a good idea. Taking a break from the library is probably the best thing you could have done for your studying." Sometimes the brain just couldn't take anymore in. Another bite of shepherds pie went into his mouth as he decided to not further comment on the lack of observation, it was easy to miss something when your mind was so occupied. "How are your ... 'powers' faring? Seems like a lot of the students are pretty off put with all of the quirks." Himself included. Though perhaps he wouldn't have minded as much if it were something that did not require having the powers of an animagus, without any of the perk of control.

He was also worried about the fact that the OWL exams were still a few months away. Especially since he had been experiencing a lot of anxiety lately. But he pretended to be fine as he took another sip of his butterbeer, grateful that Evan had chosen to overlook his minor blunder.
"I agree" He nodded and placed his glass on the table. "I've been having headaches lately, so I thought a short break would be ideal." But only for half a day. He was already eager to return to the library. "Oh, thank you for the study guides by the way. They actually helped me a lot" he said. "I'll give them back this Saturday, i want to copy some extra things for V that i think will be helpful for her potions exam"
....Not that he cared or anything
"How's the pie?" He had been eyeing the Shepherd's pie earlier but had decided on the strawberry shortcake instead because he had been in the mood for something sweet.
Daniel leaned back in his chair and looked at the menu card again after finishing his cake. He was thinking about getting something else before he looked up at the Ravenclaw. "I actually like my 'quirk,'" he said as he decided to stop at Honeydukes later instead. "I mean, I’m basically Spiderman” he shrugged. ” But lately, my powers have gotten out of hand, and things just stick to me at random"
He had ripped up one of the library books by accident once because it stuck to his hands. Of course, he took care of that with a simple Reparo but he could see why that was annoying. "I heard you change into an animal" he grinned before yawning with his hand in front of his mouth. "What was it again? A sheep?" he snorted.
