| | The Pathways Graphic credit: Felixir A set of paths, some stone, most dirt, link the wooden bridge to almost every other area of the Hogwarts grounds. You will more than likely use these pathways at some point to reach your grounds-based classes, to visit other outdoor locations, or simply to take a walk and clear your head. This is a quiet area of the grounds with the soft sound of leaves rustling in the wind or lightly crunching below your feet. Doesn't the air just seem fresher around here somehow?
Walk with a friend, sit and relax on one of the many benches placed in intervals along the numerous pathway routes, climb a nearby tree, take a moment to appreciate the great outdoors in this breathtaking part of the country. Just be careful not to trip on loose stones or roots as you go. The groundskeeper does what he can to keep the pathways maintained, but he is, after all, only human.

| Sarah thinks I'm cute | Shan's safe space. To anyone walking past, it might have seemed that Ignacio was in some sort of trance.
The seventh year had been sat in the same position, on a bench at the edge of a path, for a while. With his ankles crossed and his eyes fixated on one point in front of him, you might be forgiven for thinking that he was meditating. If it wasn't for his frisbee, of course. Balancing on one finger, he used the other hand to keep it spinning around, the only movement that he'd made in the half hour he'd been sat there. There was clearly a lot going on in Ig's brain, and he was just trying to make sense of it all.

Victoria didn't much like walking alone out here; if she were going for a stroll, she would normally have asked Stewie so they could take some...pitstops along the way, but she hadn't been able to find him at this point in time, and Serena seemed grumpy today. And where even was Lisa lately? V felt like she hadn't had seen her friend as much as she would have liked since they came back to school.
Ignacio was now in her line of sight doing....something weird. Using her wand, she mumbled under her breath and shot a flicker of light wind at his frisbee, causing it tumble downward. Why? She didn't know, but it seemed fun.

| Sarah thinks I'm cute | Shan's safe space. Another spin of the frisbee, and still Ignacio didn't look up. It wasn't until the he felt the wind and his frisbee was on the floor that he did, blinking slowly as though he were indeed coming out of a trance. He glanced down, looking around for the disc, and it wasn't until he had found it that he glanced back up and saw the younger girl. Victoria.
"Did it just get windy?" he asked, brow furred in confusion. Because it wasn't windy right now, but he'd definitely felt it, and his frisbee had ended up on the floor.

V thought she was daft, but clearly this bloke was just as much if not more so, because he didn't immediately connect the dots that her twirling her wand around meant SHE had created the wind. "No. That was me," she said simply as she stepped closer, pocketing her wand to go grab it for him. "I thought only dogs liked playing with these," she held it out for him to take. "So why do you have one?"
Because if there were a secret dog nearby, V wanted to see him. Coming to school always made her miss her dog at home. And the dog was getting old, now....and her brain went places she didn't want it to go as she thought about how old Prince Charleston was.
V also didn't offer any justification for why she had done it, nor would she really know. She had just felt like it.

Ignacio's brow furred in confusion, and he even went as far as to scratch his head like he was in some sort of sketch show, just for emphasis. "Why would you do that?" he asked, annoyance fighting with genuine curiosity. Luckily, curiosity won, as it often did for the laid-back seventh year.
As for the dog, he didn't know whether or not to be offended. "Maybe my animagus form is a dog," he offered, taking the frisbee. Now that he thought about it, a dog animagus would be fantastic, and he definitely had the adorable goofiness down pat. But his interest in frisbee was not dog related, and he shrugged even as he started spinning it on his finger again. "It's a good sport, you know, ultimate frisbee."

Welp. "I just felt like it, when I saw you giving it a right spin there," she gestured using her wand at the now spinning frisbee. "How do you DO that?" V asked in awe as she leaned in closer, but definitely not close enough to be hit in the face with a spinning disc.
Also, who just HAD a frisbee? That was strange in itself, but seeing as the boy didn't look like he'd take kindly to being called strange after she had already blown his frisbee off his finger AND accidentally compared him to a dog. "You can do an animagus? And what is ultimate frisbee????" Because V had no clue.
Boys were so weird. Did they know it? Because V was very close to telling one of them, most likely Stewie, but maybe this bloke as well. She flipped her strawberry-blonde hair over her shoulder as she watched the spinning frisbee once more.

She flipped her strawberry-blonde hair over her shoulder as she watched the spinning frisbee once more. Many other people would have been annoyed with such an answer, but Ignacio just shrugged and accepted it. Feeling like it was as good a reason as any, most of the time at least, and right now, with his brain mostly elsewhere, it was the best reason. As for her question, he offered another shrug, before stilling the frisbee with his other hand. "You just balance it, and then -" he said, before demonstrating and starting to spin it again.
"No, not yet, anyway, but maybe one day?" Ignacio offered in response. Being an animagus would be incredibly cool, and maybe it was something he should look into more. Though, at this point, if he wasn't a dog, he might be disappointed. "Ultimate Frisbee is a game - a sport, really. You have to get the frisbee to the end of the field to score a point, but you can't run with it, and there's two teams, and -" and he was doing a terrible job of explaining, so he just sort of stopped, and shrugged. "It's fun."

V tilted her head to the side as Ignacio gave the frisbee another little spin, and it stayed perfectly perched atop his fingertip as it spun. "I don't think I could do that," she said with a head shake. "Not at all."
And so, V suddenly found herself thinking this older boy she had never really had a one-on-one conversation with before was completely and utterly talented.
Pity he wasn't an animagus, but V supposed it was hard to become one. And took a lot of time, studying and magical ability. She didn't think she would ever be able to transform herself, but this ultimate frisbee game actually sounded like..it might...just a TINY....bit....fun. "Is it like quidditch? Teams, and you go back and forth...but instead of flying, you're running...and it sounds like you can't run WITH the frisbee, so if you want to move the frisbee across the field or whatever you have to stop - and throw!" she event motioned as if she were throwing a frisbee. "I didn't know one could aim so much with a frisbee. What if the wind carries it away?! I bet it's hard. Have you played, then?"

"I didn't know one could aim so much with a frisbee. What if the wind carries it away?! I bet it's hard. Have you played, then?" "It's easy, really," Ignacio insisted, bring the frisbee to a stop and catching it before offering it out to her. "You can try, if you want." He didn't think anyone should just say they couldn't so something without trying - one of his own favourite things was trying hobbies his friends were good at or passionate about. Or any hobbies, really. Most of the time he was terrible at it, like the time he'd tried to build a model ship, but that didn't mean he didn't have fun trying.
The seventh year nodded enthusiastically. "Yeah, kind of!" he agreed, surprised that he'd never thought of the similarities between the two sports himself before now. "It can be hard, because obviously the weather is unpredictable, so you have to be super fast," he continued. "I've played a few times, yeah." It had, of course, been mainly games in the park, and a few with his friends here, but nothing as competitive as he knew it could be.
