Default Moving Staircases

The most logical way for you to get from one part of the castle to the next, from down to the dungeons all the way up to the seventh floor, is making use of the staircases. Even though using them is logical, that does not mean it is going to provide the easiest route from Point A to Point B. The staircases in this tower are notorious for moving without warning whether you are walking on them or not. Hopefully luck is on your side today.

Covering the walls from the bottom of the tower to the top are hundreds of portraits. While they may be intriguing, it is important that you stay focused on the task at hand: getting from one flight of stairs to the next. If you're not paying attention, the staircase you are on will move and you'll have to maneuver your way back down or up again or wind up sinking through one of the trick steps. Under no circumstances should you be sliding down the banisters -- doing so will put your life at risk and, if you live to tell the tale, cost you two week's worth of detention.

Mom says I have no sense of direction, so I packed my bags and right.

Moose was making his way downtown, walking fast, faces pass the moving staircases. They were shockingly immobile at this moment so he decided that taking his time on them wouldn't be an issue to get to his Muggle Studies class. Even if he came late it wouldn't matter to him. It was an Easy O. Maybe he would have time to even pop back into the Dungeon and go to the common room to check on King, his pet Puffskein. He was old so caring for the furball just required him to, have food and water down, and to clean out eye-gunk from his eyes on his constantly-shocked expression.

As he got onto another set of steps they finally decided to shift on him and where he was once pointing down he was not pointing back up and further from his destination than he was before. He grumbled some cusses under his breathe and sat down. It was annoying obviously. But as mentioned before, he wasn't going to worry about being late.

A path is not simply for walking, its purpose lies in moving forward and improving oneself.

With her trusty camera at the ready, the Gryffindor entered the moving stairs in search of a certain Slytherin. She'd been gathering up her courage for a few days to ask an older student if they knew of any good photo locations at Hogwarts. Those that were not 'standard.' Like these moving staircases. Cool, but basic.

After exiting a corridor, she peered down the staircases and spotted the person she was looking for seated on one of the staircases that had started to move. He looked so... sad like that, for some reason.

"Moose! Hi! I'm here!" she exclaimed as she climbed onto the moving stairs above him. The one that was SUPPOSED to go down and NOT up! "Wait, no what? Go the other way!" she wailed at the stairs but they obviously did not listen.
