It's a bright, sunny October day, the weather crisp with autumn but still warm and mellow. A perfect day for a party at the Greenhouses!
All five of the Hogwarts greenhouses have been thoroughly cleaned and their panes of glass are sparkling brightly in the sun. Garlands and wreaths of greenery, herbs, and flowers (but no vines, thank you very much!) hang around the entrances, as if to invite one in to have a look. Out in front of Greenhouse Five there is a long table set up with light refreshments--finger sandwiches, nuts, fruit, cookies, and little frosted cakes, and pitchers of lemonade, pumpkin juice, and cold herbal tea. On another table to the other side of the door, there are small containers with various herb plants in them, each with a ribbon tied around its rim.
Professor DeVries is waiting by the tables, very excited about the fact that the greenhouses have finally been fully repaired and restocked after the disastrous attack of the Pharoah's Triumph a few years ago (well, except for a few rarer plants that he hasn't been able to replace--yet). He can't wait to show all of Hogwarts how lovely all the greenhouses look this year.
[OOC: Welcome to the event--please feel free to play your character(s) arriving and mingling and Tapio will be moving things along tomorrow afternoon.]

With a warm Keighley smile on her face, she slipped past Jude into the Greenhouse, waiting for him to lead the way. This was his tour so she would allow him the pleasure of showing her all around. They had always had one another's back and this was just another thing they did for each other, this was Jude's moment. He was older and allowed inside here so, this was all him.
Taking up stance right beside him, she turned her blue eyes onto the tree they had come in here to see. "Look how big they are." Obviously because TREES! But still. It was really cool to see Gravity-resistant trees inside the Greenhouse and such large healthy ones too!
Even Jude was wondering the same, Keigh. Perhaps later he would check in with DeVries to find out if any conclusion had been drawn about the ‘presents’. Not to mention he was highly suspicious of that book and doubly annoyed with Peeves who was being even more of a nuisance this year. All of this couldn’t be just his imagination, right?
The sixth year would have been quite happy to let his sister roam the Greenhouse as her heart pleased {naturally, he’d be very close by in case he was needed}, but he could tell from her mannerisms that she wanted him to take the lead. This was fine with him. But at present, he was too busy staring at the Trees. See, he always found them quite fascinating. “They’re quite huge,’’ came his agreement. “One of the first places they’re known to have been grown is Nepal. Fun fact, Keigh: the roots pull water from the air around them!” There were quite a bit more facts he could share but now Jude was busy adjusting the wreath of flowers on his head since he felt it slipping backwards as he had titled his face upwards to see the trees better.

Javier listened and nodded. WHY hadn't he seen this earlier!? Of course Peeves had something to do with this...every time he'd stumbled upon a situation, Peeves had JUST been there. He dropped his voice and nodded in agreement with Tapio.
"I think you're on to something with Peeves...but WHAT could he possibly be doing to give students powers? He's never been able to do that before, right? Tapio was shaking his head as Javier spoke. "No, I never heard of such a thing either. From what I know, poltergeists mainly make strange noises and move things around. Maybe sometimes pinch or trip people, things like that, but giving them...powers? No. Although, the magical beings of the countries where I grew up are different from Britain, so I'm not an expert." Tapio looked around at the students still in view, still frowning in concern. "I just wonder how many people Peeves has bestowed these "gifts" on by now?"

For now the fourth year was going to try to not get herself too involved in Peeves matters. Who knew what would happen if she spent more time anywhere near him. Things could get worse and no one really needed that. Right now the flowers that seemed to appear around her were nothing to be bothered by and she wanted to keep it that way.
Keighley couldn't take her eyes off of the huge trees in front of them as Jude talked so enthusiastically about them. Leave it to her brother to know where they were first grown and little fun facts too. She couldn't hide the small that tugged at her lips as she looked over at him. "Is there anything you don't know about?" she asked playfully. She could listen to Jude all day, the way he gave out information about things always fascinated her. And better yet, the information stuck with her too!

Jude couldn’t help it if he had been thinking about all these weird happenings a lot more than he should. They were just… distracting? Yeah, distracting - even if some of the weirdness were really cute, like Keigh’s flowers. But he’d try to put all of that out of his mind for now and instead enjoy watching his sister’s expressions as she was shown around this particular Greenhouse.
“Ha ha!” The boy laughed quietly. “I guess not! You can call me ‘The King of All Knowledge’!” Not really, because it was a ridiculous title and he certainly didn’t know everything. It just happened that Jude paid attention during his lessons. “Had enough of the trees?” He was just asking because Keigh seemed to be more than content to keep staring at them. But if she was ready, he’d show her the Flesh Eating Fir next.

Keighley was able to understand why Jude was distracted by things, she was too at times but right now things appeared to be okay. Nothing bad was happening and she was with her big brother, she knew he wouldn't let anything happen to her. He was her protector and she was his. As siblings they always stuck together and looked out for one another. There wasn't very many people that she trusted more than she trusted Jude.
"The King of All Knowledge, huh? Well then you won't have any trouble helping me study for OWLs next term?" Keigh joined in his laughter. The fourth year knew how tough those exams were and how important as well. She also knew that Jude would help her if she asked but that wasn't something she really wanted to do since he was going to have his own much more difficult exams to focus on next year. Casts another glance at the tree before nodding her head. "Yeah, we can move on if you want to." As lovely as these trees were they weren't really doing anything and there was so much more to see inside the greenhouse.

Jude adjusted his flowery crown then reached for Keigh’s right hand with his left. He inclined his head and offered her an innocent smile. “At your service, Ma’am! You just name the place when the time comes and I’ll be there!” When Keigh was ready to write OWLs, he’d be in his final year which meant NEWTs for him. He figured now that Keigh and him could study for their exams together; it would be perfect. Once again, he felt sad about having to leave her behind next year but he gave himself a mental shake. Jude needed to enjoy THIS moment, not focus on stuff that was far off.
Happily, the sixth year led the way to the Flesh Eating Fir. “Here we are! Another main attraction of this greenhouse is… the Flesh Eating Fir!’’ Jude said with gusto and his best tour guide ‘voice’. He had even made sure that they were more than a couple feet away from the Firs for their safety. “Can you believe witches and wizards use them to protect their properties from intruders?” He made a face. “I think it’s a bit too much. I’m not having those when I get my own place.”

The smile on her young face only grew as she watched Jude fix his flower crown. "Have I mentioned to you how good you look in that crown? I'm really loving it." Honest. She wasn't just saying that because she was his little sister or because of her love of flowers. The colors really worked well with his hair and eyes. Keighley giggled as she took hold of his hand. "When and where doesn't much matter to me. All I care about is spending time together and well.. if we get a whole lot of studying in as well that would only be an added bonus." Perhaps they could quiz one another or something fun like that. Maybe randomly ask questions out of nowhere while they were doing other things so it didn't feel like all they were doing was studying.
Keighley bounced along at Jude's side as they made their way to the next set of plants. A tilt of her head one way and then the other. "I-.. other than to keep away intruders I'm not quite sure I see the attraction." Sorry plant. "I'm not saying I don't like them or these aren't interesting because they really are but.. it's not for me at all. I'd much rather lots and lots of colorful plants and bushes and trees everywhere!" The more color the better, right?!

Jude held his head high and somewhat proudly at the compliment. “I should start wearing flower crowns more often,’’ he mused happily. The one currently nesting on his hair felt comfortable. “You can always make me some.” What with Keighley’s strange habit of making flowers appear. “I can work with that! We’ll figure it out.” In any case, Jude would be passing on all of his OWL notes to his little sister soon, just as Rea had done for him. He felt good about knowing that Keigh still wanted to spend a lot of time with him even though she now also had Olivia and Charlie. His youngest sibling had proven herself quite dependable so often that he wasn’t insecure about being left behind.
The older Puffer bobbed his head slowly, staring thoughtfully at the tree. “Oh, I understand! It’s nice to look at and everything but… yeah.” He nodded some more. “Loads of colourful plants are what I can get behind!’’ Anyone who knew him knew that he ADORED colours, particularly bright colours. “So! Think you’re ready to head back out to the group? And what do you think about this greenhouse?”

"Yes! And Yes! I would love to!" Keighley beamed at Jude brightly, practically bouncing around splashing them both with water. "It will be so much fun. I can make you all different kinds and I can even make us some matching ones too!" The thought alone was making her extremely excited. There was so many different possibilities and combinations. Her options were seemingly endless. "Great! Is is silly that I'm already kinda looking forward to it?" Maybe not the studying portion so much but the promise of getting to spend so much time with Jude in his final year. It wasn't something she liked to think about but she knew it was going to happen faster than she wanted it to and that they were going to have to make the most of it.
The blonde knew he would get it. He always did. "Exactly! The more colors the better!" Keigh just like Jude also was a huge fan of lots of colors. Both bright and pastels. The moment really depended on her color scheme but colors were a wonderful thing. "Umm, I think that I am." Cue a simple nod of her head. "I can see myself coming in here a fair bit once I'm able to on my own." She already frequented the greenhouses a decent amount as it was so this shouldn't come as any surprise at all to him or anyone else.

Immediately, Jude’s mind latched onto him and Keighley wearing matching crowns. “Yes, please! I’d love that!’’ Unmatching ones as well as matching crowns, as a matter of fact, because it was his sister who would make them for him. “Looking forward to studying?” he began teasingly. “Yes, it is!” But Jude was smarter than that and knew what Keigh was referring to. He was going to definitely make the best of the remainder of their Hogwarts together-time. The thought that Keigh would be here without him and Reagan did not sit with him well; after all, things often got dangerous.
See? Yet another reason why the two youngest Anders made such a great team: they had much in common including favourite choices in colour! Jude felt highly pleased that Keighley had enjoyed her tour of the greenhouse; it really was fun on his part to show her around. “I can see you doing exactly that.” The boy trusted that she would be careful when here on her own. He offered her an arm. “Milay. Shall I escort you out?” His voice had suddenly turned formal and extra polite.

From the look on Jude's face, Keighley could tell that he was thinking the same thing she was. How much fun they were going to have wearing all of these flower crowns. She was already getting ideas for some matching ones for the two of them! "Consider it already in progress!" the Hufflepuff giggled with a bright smile on her face. As soon as she could she would get started on them. "Kinda? Not really but.. if it gives us more time together than sure." Whatever worked was okay with her. Each day that passed was one less day with Reagan and him here at Hogwarts. She didn't like it.
It didn't surprise her at all that they had yet another thing in common. For as long as she could remember they always had been close with nearly everything in common. "I find the flowers and plants soothing." So chances were high that her visits to the greenhouses would continue. She was taught well, so yes, she would always be careful. "Please," she answered softly, taking hold of his arm lightly so he could lead the way out of the greenhouse now that their tour was over.

It was certainly settled then, this intention of them having loads of flower crowns. Just could even see himself using magic to preserve the flowers so that the flowers took longer than normal to die. Flower crowns definitely had become one of his most favourite things ever. Jude patted his sister on the arm. “We’ll make the most of it!’’ he told her brightly, not wanting to make her sad on such a happy and important event. But true to his words, they would be making the most of all the times they had, both at Hogwarts and out of Hogwarts.
“Mom and dad really shouldn’t be surprised if we decide to start putting flowering plants everywhere in the house,’’ Jude joked. He really could see that happening, and he could also see Addi and Connor ensuring that he and Keigh dedicated time each day that they were home to take care of the plants. “Okay, let’s go get some snacks! I think I could eat everything the professor set out.” Chuckling, Jude led his sister back out to the crowd.

Keighley couldn't wait to get started on all of these flower crowns. Hopefully Jude wouldn't mind having a crown for pretty much everything he wore, right? She didn't think that he would. Who wouldn't want such a gorgeous accessory that they could wear with everything and that suited them so perfectly? "Every single moment will be the bestest moments," she agreed with a nod of her blonde head of hair, smiling softly up at him. Jude was right, if they always looked on the bright side of things, everything would always be okay.
"Would all the plants still be alive when we returned home though or will mum and dad forget to water them?" Keigh asked seriously, otherwise she loved her brothers idea of decorating their home in flowers. "Snacks sound great but I get first pick so you don't hog all the good stuff," she laughed playfully nudging him with her elbow as he led her along. They really did make a great team.

While cleaning up, Tapio thought over all that had gone on during his event. He felt really pleased, both with the really spendid appearance of the new greenhouses and with the gratifying support of the Hogwarts community. All the food had turned out just as he planned and he really thought everyone had enjoyed themselves. And after a quick check inside each greenhouse, the tall professor was especially pleased to see that no one had disturbed or misused any of the plants.
The one thing that disturbed him was the increasing number of rather strange events that seemed to be centered on certain of the students. Something was definitely a bit off here and he would certainly speak to the headmaster about it at the next opportunity.
