 The back alley of Hosgmeade is not bright and happy like the bustling High Street that is usually flooded with people. The streets of Hogsmeade are clean, cheerfully lit, and full of chatter with the store fronts advertising their wares. However, the alley behind the shops is dark and actually pretty creepy. If you know anything at all about the school's history with the village, then you should know that this place is better avoided.
For those who are testing their limits or were dared to venture here, they will find dozens of rubbish bins filled to the brim with scraps of food, wrappings, or broken merchandise from the shops. Rats and bugs of all sorts are a common sight in this less visited part of Hogsmeade, and boggarts have been known to make themselves at home in the dumpsters, though the residents and shopkeepers of the street have made a point of keeping them well away in recent years.

Ax had figured he'd not be able to visit the village, and that had been true before school had broken up for the winter and a little while after. His mother had written to him weeks ago and mentioned - as an aside, so casually he couldn't be sure he was understanding it right at first - that he'd be permitted to go to Hogsmeade soon. And now here he was. Made no sense.
The High Street was busy and bustling, and disorienting too. Ax couldn't be sure what sound was coming from where, and he kept being bumped into and knocked with shopping bags, and, being on the smaller side, he could barely see where he was going. Like a school corridor, only outside and also worse somehow. After being jostled one too many times, he'd barged his way out of the crowd, with liberal use of pointy elbows and toe-stomping, and slipped down a side alley instead. That had brought him here, to the back alley; empty and quiet and easy to understand.
Shoving his hands into his pockets, Ax started down the alley, kicking a stray piece of rubbish as he went. There was no point going into any shops, he'd been given permission to come here but no money to spend. Maybe that was the point, maybe she was messing with him, and maybe he'd fallen for it.

Upon hearing about the upcoming Hogsmeade weekend, Mitsuki had been looking forward to a relatively quieter castle compared to the average day. She had some mamezara that needed to be displaced and one of the corridors on the 5th floor was calling for he to lay in for a bit and ponder the existence of a particularly interestingly shaped crack in the stone. But, as was with most moments of peace, her sister intervened. Of course there was a certain novelty, she supposed, with going to Hogsmeade with her siblings...but it was also a novelty could wait. It was on her brother and sister that the negative energies slowly creeping into the Ravenclaw common room and dripping out into the corridors an throughout the castle. It was a breeding ground. Which was why she had filled the pockets of her pleated ankle length black skirt with fresh lavender and beads made from agarwood and sandalwood.
Salt too. Always.
Branching away from her siblings once they had sufficiently distracted themselves in Honeydukes, she had taken to the streets and noticed a boy dipping into one of the alleyways. Curiosity tickled, she pivoted slightly and followed after a leaf blowing across the ground only to stop at the threshold...and then she simply observed the boy with her arms hanging loosely to her sides. Well, the back of his head. For now.

He'd not seen anyone following him, obviously, as he didn't have eyes in the back of his head. Hadn't heard them either, there being people all over and going every which way. What did catch Ax's attention was a sudden hint of a flowery smell, wafted towards him on a breeze and making no sense given that back here was just bins and stuff.
Ax whirled around, expecting to see some old lady shopkeeper or something, someone who'd start clucking and flapping about people hanging around back behind the shops, but no. It was just a girl from his year, one he saw after a second or two of searching through the gloom. "What you staring at?" he snapped at her.

His movements, like a cornered feral cat, displaced the air with such force that it was a wonder she was not knocked over. Mitsuki's hands slipped back into her pocket for another fistful of salt - it was entirely necessary. Noting his tone but thinking very little of it, she found his question an odd one considering the answer was the obvious one.
Upon sprinkling a bit more salt on the ground and throwing some against either brick wall, she crossed the threshold by five steps forward and then three steps back before speaking. "You," she said simply and eerily sweetly, though it was a sweetness buried beneath a curiosity as she looked at him with her head tilted to the left.
