Ravenclaw Table https://s26.postimg.cc/q4wevjy55/rav...ble-banner.jpg For those who belong in Ravenclaw House, in the middle of the Great Hall is where your table awaits. Blue banners containing an embroidered bronze eagle float above the polished table in honour of the wise Rowena Ravenclaw. Already placed on the tables are silver plates with accompanying cutlery and goblets. All that is missing right now are the mountains of food and pitchers containing your favourite beverages. |
The end of another year already, was it? Evan made his way into the great hall, quickly selecting himself a spot at the Ravenclaw table and getting comfortable and offering nods of acknowledgement to all who were already seated there. It felt surreal it was already time to board the Hogwarts Express again, like there hadn't been enough of the year. But he realized rather quickly that was probably due to the fact he was fast approaching his seventh year, with zero ideas on what he was going to pursue after. More and more he was considering a gap year, like Noah had done. Time to figure out life and what he wanted. Though, his instincts said to drive himself crazy over the summer to sort everything before September 1st. But he knew he wasn't going to do that. The next chapter of his life was too important for rushed decisions, and a busy summer loomed ahead. Despite not being the closest of the cousins, Evan was quite looking forward to Chin-hae's wedding. Spending a large amount of time with Halmeoni, and getting to introduce the rest of his crazy family to his best friend, sounded like a lot of fun. And in a not so typical Evan fashion, he really just wanted to focus on enjoying that. Watching his brother catapulted into the necessities of adulthood following a year of break, it was clear it was important to enjoy the calm while he was able. Pulling a sherbet drop from his pocket, Evan popped in his mouth and scanned the room for his favorite people. He'd have to make note of who to go around and say goodbye to post dinner. |
"Wise." Milo, rather adept at sudden appearances - on account of his ongoing campaign against shoe-wearing (and the resulting silent footsteps), a mostly unintentional skulking nature, and the occasional tendency to emerge suddenly from quiet, tucked away places - now appeared suddenly at the older Ravenclaw's elbow. He remembered his name in part because Milo disliked having to share it, and avoided using it for the same reason. He looked, not into the older boy's face, but at the pocket whence he had spied the boy retrieving some kind of food. Then Milo blinked hard and twitched as if to shake the hair from his eyes, and stared at the boy's ear instead. |
Disappointing and regrettable. Two words that came to mind when Mitsuki reflected on the term despite it being a particularly productive one. It was a similar sensation to Mercer hiding inside the couch and how the thrill of possibility had her heart palpitating. The reveal that the voice belonged to a baby sphinx had certainly been exciting for many and the eaglette found the creatures fascinating as well...but there was some truth to expectations leading to disappointment. There was always next term for a poltergeist infestation or haunting though. With a certain aesthetically modified pygmy puff humming inside of her right pocket and her usual salt in the left. Mitsuki almost skipped her way into the Great Hall and towards the Ravenclaw table. Hands clasped behind her back where her fingers were coiled around the spine of a book she had checked out the the library last minute and may have, conveniently, forgotten she needed to return. It would be taken care of over the summer and back come September. Her steps light as she moved past the older Nam, Mitsuki plopped herself beside Milo and lay the book on top of her empty plate on the table. Since none were engaged with conversation, perhaps enjoying the silence or playing a game since her friend was staring so intently, she felt no need to break it. That was usually a job for Mercer and he was quite gifted at it. Instead she brushed a bit of salt off the cover so the title, Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, caught the floating candle light for just a moment before she tucked right back in to her reading. |
It was a weird end to the term. Fourth year had proved to be full of emotional and hormonal turmoil. The dance was a mixed bag of emotions but she had survived. Here she was… looking forward to summer… hopefully. Lisa joined the table, offering a few smiles to her fellow Ravenclaws that were present (her brother, Milo, and Mitsuki) before she took a seat near her brother. “Hi,” she greeted with a small smile before pausing when she noticed her brother had a lolly with him. “Do you have another sherbet Candy?” |
He'd been focused on observing the other tables and hadn't quite noticed the arrival of the younger years, at least... not until he heard the word 'Wise' uttered near his elbow, and turned his attention that direction. It was one of the more peculiar of the younger years, though the sixth year often thought that was probably a more strength than a weakness. His mouth opened to question what exactly was wise, before he noted the stare was focused on his pocket, in which he still had a rather large amount of his favorite candies - primarily in preparation of the inevitable request for one when his sister arrived. But even whilst saving one for the youngest of his family, he'd still have plenty, so into his pocket went his hand to retrieve a wrapped candy and then offered it to the boy. "Care for one to stave the hunger until the feast starts?" And here came one of his the boy's friends as well, so in went the hand again and out came another wrapped candy which he placed next to the other. He'd leave it up to the boy on if he wanted to share with his companion or not. Of course the more talkative arrival to the table was his sister, whom received a much wider smile as the elder sibling attempted to hide the remaining concern he always felt as of late where she was concerned. "Do you know me to ever not have sherbet drops on hand?" The answer was no, and he hoped this was a habit he'd never grow out of. Another candy appeared, this time placed on the table in front of his sister. "You ready to go home?" |
It was perhaps fortunate that Milo was not a particularly expressive individual, or else he might have made a habit of unintentionally alienating himself even more than he already did on the regular. Suspicion flared upon hearing the older boy's offer, but for a moment all he did was stare in just the same way as before, this time at the sweet. It sent alarm bells ringing for all the same reasons that Milo thought the decision wise in the first place. But a moment later, he took the sweet - both sweets, because that was what friends did - and slipped them straight into his own pocket with a vague feeling of triumph. Rose or the Cold Man could test it for him, or tell him how. Perhaps. "I hope you have the day you deserve," Milo said to the boy by way of thanks or condemnation (he wasn't sure yet, and wouldn't be until he got home, making this the optimal manifestation), and turned away, noting the other Nam's smile but falling short of managing a smile back. He sat down on the other side of Mitsuki, reserving space on either side of his own for Mercer or for nobody by laying golden plates down on the bench. Pulling his feet up and leaning his shins against the table, Milo pulled a pen from his other pocket and began to quietly draw on the knee of his school trousers. The clamour of voices in the Great Hall crowded about his ears, trying to force their way in and poison his brain like the sweet might have poisoned his guts, and similarly having only as much success as Milo himself permitted. |
“Thanks Ev,” she spoke as he plopped the Candy in front of her. She smiled widely before devouring said candy. “Thanks!” As she was about to answer his question, the speech started so she had to wait until all of that was done Once it was done, she turned to her brother. “I can’t wait. I need a break. I’ve never missed home or theatre camp more… But we have Chin-Hae and Mycelia’s wedding so… not much of a break… Are you bringing a date to the wedding?” She had zero plans of asking someone as she had of thought of it until this moment. |
