 If you are eager to see, be seen, and get to school first, then the front passenger cars of the train are for you. Just like the other cars, a long corridor provides access to the many compartments, each labelled with a letter, available for you and your friends to hunker down in until the train has come to a complete stop. Cushioned seats and large windows, allowing perfect views of the British scenery on your journey, await.
Well, what are you waiting for? Slide open a compartment door and make yourself at home. Place any of your belongings not in the luggage car on the racks above you. Chat with your friends about what you did this summer, enjoy munching on the snacks you bought from the trolley lady, get ahead of the game by reading your textbooks, or take a long nap as the train travels over numerous hills and mountainsides. Whatever you do, exhibit your best behaviour -- the prefects will be regularly patrolling the corridors and poking their heads inside your compartment to make sure you are doing so.

If there was one thing Vera had not been expecting about how she'd feel on the first train ride to Hogwarts, it was this intense amount of SAD. Was she excited? Absolutely. BUT now loaded onto the train it occurred to her how much she was going to miss Papa and Scoot. She wouldn't get to see them for MONTHS. And while she did have Vasco, which was a comfort as much as she'd never tell him that there was another big part of her that was missing.
PAPA WOULDN'T LET HER BRING HER SNAKE.
She had begged and PLEADED to be able to send a letter to Headmaster Kazmi asking to bring her pet with her, but Papa had said she was too young for the responsibility and that maybe she could ASK when she was older. Not even that she could do it, just that she could ask!!! She certainly hoped there were some type of reptiles she could cuddle with at Hogwarts, preferably a basilisk though she was pretty sure there was only like it's skeleton or something now.
Such a shame.
Heaving a loud SIGH, she looked out the window and thunked her forehead against the glass. She'd just sit here and pout.
Until she inevitably forgot why she was.

Now that she was actually on the train to Hogwarts, and in some ways Sable Ileana was as excited as she had been when she got her wand. It was absolutely exciting, and even more exciting knowing she was getting to go with her bestie and Vasco... and she'd be able to see if her cousin had been right when he'd told her stories. Told her what to expect, and even if there wasn't a likelihood of getting to meet any pirates (she might've poked around history books a bit more than anyone would've expected of her but it was important)
Except Mo had to stay home. Mum had promised to take care of the cruppy and play with him and everything Sable Ileana would have done, but it wasn't the same as getting to have him at Hogwarts with her. It felt almost like betraying Juli by not keeping the cruppy with her. Her attempt at smuggling him into Hogwarts in her trunk had been foiled, though. She didn't see why it wasn't allowed. Mo was just as good as a cat or a rat or a toad. Just cooler.
She may have been on a mission to find the bestie, too. Vera would understand. Probably. Definitely.
The thunk had sounded weirdly familiar as she'd approached the next compartment in her search, not to mention the sigh, and she had stepped inside practically before she had verified the occupant. It hadn't occurred to her that anyone wouldn't consider her welcome anyway, and besides, it WAS bestie.
"Wanna see if we can find any snacks?," she asked, even as she had plopped down onto the seat across from her. Anything?

Was Vasco ready? He had no idea. This was happening though. Both Vera and himself were on the train (after prying Vesper's tiny fingers from his arms). And various 'byes' and other farewells being said. Nothing was going to get him down. Not even papa telling him he couldn't bring Raven along, which was completely unfair, how much harm could she have caused? The crow was exceptionally well trained.
He wasn't like his sister though. No way was he going to make a scene and plead about bringing Raven. As much as he would've loved to take her with him. Accepting his faith, he had stepped onto the train and that had been that.
Vasco easily kept sight of Vera and then Sable ahead of him. It would've been much more to his benefit for him to find an empty compartment and sit on his own but papa had told him to make sure V had kept herself out of trouble. Ha! Like he was going to be able to do that.. he would be lucky to keep himself out of trouble. Yet there he was, sliding the compartment door open and stepping into it without a word.
Plopping down onto the bench near Vera he slipped his headphones over his ears and reached into the pocket of his hoodie for one of the many snacks he had brought along with him.

Logan was feeling all of the feelings right now. A bit of sadness was experienced knowing that he was leaving his mum, dad, and sister behind on the platform. However, that was fleeting. Trunk on the train and himself wandering about the cars, he was quite relieved to not be clung onto by a crying little sister. Even more so, he was excited for his Hogwarts journey to begin. And his first mission was to find his best mate.
Not knowing where Vasco was, Logan had no choice put to peer his head into each compartment window he passed by. So far, there had been no luck. He managed to find Melody and Nova (who he purposefully stuck out his tongue and made fart noises at before running off), then some older kids who were old and probably boring or wanting to snog, and a few empty compartments here and there.
After a while, he finally saw who he was searching for. A bit of a groan escaped his mouth when he took in Vera and Sable. They weren't exactly the company he wanted since girls were annoying, but it wasn't surprising to see that Vasco was with them.
"Did someone say snacks?" he interrupted, welcoming himself into the compartment.
Without any hesitation, he plopped down next to his best friend, who surely wouldn't mind sharing his snacks with a good ol' pal who was saving him from a long train ride alone with the girls. Right?

Vera would ABSOLUTELY understand. Maybe it wasn't a cruppy she was leaving behind, but pets were family and leaving behind any family was HARD. The girl was still enacting her dramatics when she heard the compartment open behind her and she turned her head, cheek now smooooooshed against the glass to look to see who was entering. "Siaaaaaa!" At least her friend had found her already, and she wouldn't be spending the train ride ALONE.
Wait. Did she say snacks?
V perked up a little bit at that, sitting taller in her seat and removing her face from the window, a small breath fog now covering where she'd been prior. "Snacks is brilliant! I forgot to pull any of mine from my trunk." All that wonderful candy Papa had let her bring, and she'd forgotten to pull it out to enjoy on the train.
Spotting her twin's entrance as well, the dramatics returned full force and her lower lip wibbled for the smallest fraction of a second, before she flopped her head onto her brother's barely higher shoulder. This was her silently saying she was glad he was coming too, and also actually glad he was joining her and Sia for the train ride. Hearing the sound of rustling that could only be a wrapper, she straightened again. "Can I have some of your snacks, Vas? I left mine in my trunk. Please, please, pleaaaase? I'll give you more of mine later!" ... If she remembered.
She was in the middle of puppy dog eyes, when the groan distracted her and brown eyes turned towards the door way to see Vasco's friend. GROANING!? She assumed that was her and Sia's prescense, since it'd be weird if it was Vasco's even if that was sometimes her reaction, so she stuck her tongue out at him in response. "Hi Loogie."

Dot’s hazel eyes widened as she saw a gaggle of smol people like herself and was about to invade when she saw a face she recognized. IT WAS CHOCOLATE GUY a small beamy smile plastered on her face as she bounce-stepped her way into the room. ”hey – you” she tapped her foot and shrugged as she realized she had never gotten the guy’s name only the chocolate.
She looked around at everyone and raised her hand to wave at everyone. ”hi – i’m Dot.” she didn’t even ask as she walked in and plopped down on one of the benches.

ASHGDSGFDL. ANOTHER PERSON!? And a NEW one at that! Vera was glad that she had people she already knew to go to school with, looking at you bestie, BUT new friends would be nice to make so soon as well!! So when the girl entered she BEAMED at her, despite the also curious look at her familiarity with Vasco.
Wait. Did he really know someone she DIDN'T? That was weird.
But fixable. Vera thrust her hand out in greeting towards the girl, still beaming. "Hi DOT!" Nickname would be incoming once she had a minute, "I'm Vera! This is Birdbrain," a gesture to her brother. "Loogie" a gesture towards Vasco's best friend. "AND Pirate Princess Sia!" V took a second to eye the other girl, trying to gauge her age before deciding it was easier to just ask. She MIGHT be their age, but she could potentially be a year above them. "Is this your first term at Hogwarts?? This is the first for all of us!"
