| | Third-Floor Corridor ![](https://i.postimg.cc/CLf9zpvs/corridor-banner5.jpg) A central floor to the school, the third-floor corridor is a relatively easy to navigate and contains your basic necessities. On this level of the school, the Charms classroom, the Defence Against the Dark Arts classroom and the Hospital Wing can be found. Additionally, you will find the pristine Armour Gallery, the Trophy Room, and a passageway to the more popular places on the grounds. But that doesn't mean there aren't a few peculiarities to be found in this part of the castle.
Beyond coming across portraits of Basil Fronsac, Damara Dodderidge, and Merwyn the Malicious, you will find that there are many rooms to explore. The Ghoul Studies classroom resides on this floor, as well as a room where spare furniture is stored (perfect for making indoor forts!) and another containing maps of Great Britain and Ireland. Though perhaps the room you find most curious is a storeroom containing a large golden harp that plays on its own accord and a trapdoor -- it can't be said for certain where that leads, for it looks like a rather long drop. Probably not the best idea to find out. ![Open Book](https://www.snitchseeker.com/images/smilies/open-book.gif) |

| Ashleeeyyyy~ Yeah I broke that mirror, so what? ll NOT backward ll Official Gryfferin ll Lemon's favourite Of course it would rain on the day she convinced herself to go out onto the grounds. It was typical, wasn't it? So many other days for the torrential downpour--so many more there could be, yet this was the day for the thunderstorm out of nowhere.
Emmerson leaned against one of the windows of the corridor, watching the rain beat down on the grounds. She found herself wondering how the ducks were doing, a direct result of her bestfriend's affinity for the birds rather than any real interest of her own. When this was all over, it would be muddy and icky, there would be insects and she would have to spend more time convincing herself to go out on another day.
Brilliant. "It doesn't rain this much in either California or New York, you know." The Gryffindor complained loudly, green eyes set skyward. "You could take a hint sometime."
At her feet, Artemis moved in circles, chasing the ribbon she'd tied to his tail. Her aunt Jessa made some tweaks to the toy dragon over the summer, a necessity given the rising aggression he had begun to display. Now his temperament returned to something far more playful and manageable which was likely the only way she could have it if she still wanted him allowed at school.
At least he didn't mind the rain.

| elephant-astic•wanderlust•stay in the ninedaaays the original Taco Belle•look at the flowers✿ ”How’d you do that?” Nerina approached the Gryffindor, though her gaze was on the dragon. A pet dragon, was it? She’d never seen anything like it before. Way more interesting than an owl, that was for sure. Is it friendly?” She had more questions, too, but she kept those to herself for now.

Emmerson turned at the sound of the voice, spotting Nerina as she approached. How did she do what? Stare up at the sky with glaring disdain for the fact it ruined what could have been a good day lying by the lake's shore? Easy, it came from a place of much discontent.
Oh, she meant the dragon.
The latter question caused her eyes to fall to the formerly purple little thing. "Oh yeah, he's plenty friendlier than he was last year. Auntie Jessa removed his stomach. Said it was causing more trouble than I could fix on my own while I'm at school." And while Emmerson felt at year 5 that she was more than capable of taking care of her baby dragon, it was a weight off her shoulders not having to worry it would try to nibble the arm off a dormmate of hers in the middle of the night. "If you whistle twice he'll do a flip for you mid-air. Taught him myself. NOT easy when brooms are involved." And the ground. The ground you fell off the broom and collided with.

"Removed his stomach. Right. Okay." If Nerina looked a little horrified, it was because she was. "I suppose that helps quell the desire to eat things he's not supposed to." Heck of a way to diet, though. Talk about extreme.
Aw, wait. He could do tricks? "Well, I obviously have to give that a try." Eyeing the little guy, she moistened her lips and whistled twice. She supposed she'd taught her little brother a trick when she showed him how to use pomade on his adorable little head and the results had been delightful. Never done any trick teaching to a creature, though. And certainly not a little animated dragon one.

Never done any trick teaching to a creature, though. And certainly not a little animated dragon one. If she hadn't glanced over at Nerina when she did, she would have missed the look of abject horror now seated on the girl's face. "Yeah." Emmerson confirmed, obviously not nearly as taken aback. "He didn't need one in the first place but I wouldn't stop feeding him things and they had nowhere to go so she added one--it was so cool. I got to watch, even got to help with some parts of it. Like surgery." Standing opposite her aunt at that operating table in her lab had been a brilliant break in her summer from everything else that threatened to swallow her whole. "I reckon he's still getting used to it? Have to watch him or he'll still put things in his mouth." But Emmerson was a great pretend!dragon mummy and was more careful these days.
The alternative...was not great.
The Gryffindor took a small step back to allow the dragon to stretch his wings. There was nothing but pride when she watched Artemis lift off the ground and take off down the corridor before turning sharply and heading back toward them. The first loop. The dragon took a moment to steady himself. The second loop.
Emmerson patted the spot by her at the window, indicating where he should perch. When he did, he got head pats. "That actually took a while. He'd get the first loop then end up in a wall or something. Broke him in half once, that wasn't fun to explain."

This whole story was giving off some serious Frankenstein vibes and Nerina thought it was kind of cool. "I didn't even know you could do something like that. She must be pretty brilliant." And a little cuckoo bananas, but hey, whatever worked for her. "I'll remember that if he ever gets too close." Nerina thought the dragon was awesome, but she didn't want to get bit by it. Needed all her fingers and toes, thank you. "Well, he's certainly mastered it now. Can he breathe fire, too?" She wasn't sure if that was a dumb question, but if Emm had put the dragon through surgery to give it a stomach, the sky was probably the limit with what was possible.
