| | Slytherin Table For those who belong in Slytherin House, on the right side of the Great Hall is where your table awaits. Green banners containing an embroidered silver snake float above the polished table in honour of the cunning Salazar Slytherin. Already placed on the tables are silver plates with accompanying cutlery and goblets. All that is missing right now are the mountains of food and pitchers containing your favourite beverages.
Though your stomach might be growing as you take a seat on one of the long benches next to the table, it is important to not get hangry -- gnawing your arm away or jabbing your fork repeatedly on the surface of the table will do no good whatsoever. Give everyone some time to get settled in and wait for Headmaster Kazmi to deliver his speech. Keep yourself preoccupied by catching up with your fellow housemates until it is time to sink your teeth into the hearty and delicious meal prepared by the house-elves.

Hogwarts RPG Name: Bettie Monroe Slytherin First Year | Our gal Sherlock Salem-Rain being sleepy, hungry, grumpy and happy made her way to the right side of the great hall to the table under the green banners containing an embroidered silver snake. She found herself a empty seat on the long bench and had a sit.

Hogwarts RPG Name: Alfred Demaret Slytherin Sixth Year | Excuse you, V, it was actually quite a bit of juice. Alfie thanked Serena for the handkerchief but soon grew visibly concerned, especially after she had stormed off. Was she ok? Something seemed a bit off. After wiping the juice off his face, he stuffed the handkerchief in his pocket, making a mental note to check up on her when giving it back to her.
Turning back to Lisa and V, Alfie caught yet another glimpse of Daniel at the Hufflepuff table and this time gave him a wave. "Well, sort of, yeah." He was starting to see it more and more inside his head. He seemed to be quite quickly be turning into the Number #1 Danisa Shipper™. "Yeah, I know you two are just good friends, but I was just saying. Yes, really."
Alfie's face turned slightly pink once again when Lisa drew attention to the book. "Er... yeah, it is." That's all he was going to say on the topic of the book."Yeah, you should go check up on her." He agreed to V's suggestion, not only because he was concerned about Serena, but also to move the conversation on from the book. He nodded in silent agreement at her other suggestion too, and waved Lisa goodbye. |

It killed her not to follow Serena.
But she knew Serena needed some time alone. “Oh… I didn’t realize….” Alfie really knew how to make her flustered. And she really wished she had a few ice mice to have right now to calm the blushing.
“Right,” she nodded to V as she stood up from the seat. “Ill catch you later.” She gave them a quick salute and then darted off back to her table.
Her stomach kept doing flip flops. She didn’t like this feeling but perhaps there was some truth in the guessing game.

Violet sailed into the Great Hall, running a tad late this year, but feeling more confidence than she ever had before. For the first time in a long time--perhaps the first time forever--she'd had a good summer. No, a wonderful summer! With everything running somewhat smoothly at home (for a change), her grandfather had allowed her old governess to take her to Europe over the summer, to the woman's old potions institute in Göttingen.
It had been wonderful being with Miss Howard--no, Jane now--as a fellow adult (okay, a young adult, but at nearly 18, definitely an adult). They'd seen and talked about so many things. Jane had even given some very positive feedback to the short story Violet had showed her; she was only the second person, after Ashley Fox that Violet had showed it to. And Violet had met a boy! Finally, after beginning to wonder if she was destined to be alone forever, she'd finally found someone who didn't mind that she was smart and quirky and not all made up and put together all the time. No, Einar had even said those were things he liked about her! He'd taken her around to the local events, showed her the sights, talked with her about music and books and art (well, she'd mostly listened to the art part while he talked). And he was gorgeous--tall, blonde, blue-eyed, and Norwegian. Violet had met him at a party at the Institute, where he was studying, and he actually came over to talk to her. And she was looking particularly good, wearing the deep purple, fashionable dress that had been given to her by her Uncle Horatio, of all people (who knew he had such good fashion sense!), along with a tasteful gold chain. And she'd actually managed to carry on a decent conversation and not say anything too awkward.
Of course, it was probably not anything serious. With Einar in Germany, and later probably back to Norway, and Violet not planning to leave England any time soon, Violet knew it was just a holiday romance. But still--it had been a romance, definitely; she'd even had her first kiss (and not just one!) And they would continue writing each other. For now. Until it probably all blew over, but it had been a wonderful first romance, and Violet felt renewed and happy and comfortable in her own skin because of it.
So here she was back at Hogwarts, looking more put together than previously, her O.W.L.S. safely behind her and the N.E.W.T.S. far away in the next year. She was one of the 'big kids' now, and she supposed she had better start acting like it. Taking a place at the end of the table where the older students were gathered, she smiled graciously at everyone around her and said cheerfully, "Hello, everybody. Hope your summer went well." And then she just sat there, smiling to herself, unable to help it because she just felt so good.

Reason: 'cause I got my character's age wrong!
