There is a sign hanging outside the DADA classroom, under the rules and near the homework board.

"Attention Students! If you are interested in joining a Defense organization established by Professor Rae, please read the following:

Professor Rae will be meeting during the course of the term with students who would like to begin their Defense training. Subject matter will include a variety of spells and skill sets that are included in actual Auror training.

If you are interested, please PM the professor and she will add your name to the member list. Points will be given to those members who manage to practice and master these spells and skills, and at the end of the term, those who earn enough points will be rewarded with a medal and the title of Auror-in-Training."

Nadia was hit twice by Sahara's spell and, while the intention of the practice was to hit and be hit by the spell, this was getting riddiculous. She could barely take her wand from the crowd of students and flying spells (her wand had flew right-upwards) when the second spell hit. And now she was coming back from a safari of wild beasts armed with wands while she was defenseless and looking for the missing wand (left-downwards). To say she looked dishelved was an understatement... So, now, it was her turn...

"OK then. Enough. From now on I'm going to defend agains the attack," she said. "Ready?

"EXPELLIARMUS!" -- the spell flew at Sahara.

Andrew and Serena take their dueling positions. They each bow and walk away from each other so there is about 10 meters between them.

"Ready" asks Andrew.

Serena nods and Andrew with a swift motion of his wand exclaims, " EXPELLIARMUS."

Serena use the Protego charm successfully to block the charm and fires "EXPELLIARMUS" toward Andrew. He haven't expected that so he sees his wand fly out of his hand and fall several feet way. He lands with a thud on the floor.

"Ouch" he says as he hits the floor, "good stop and quick offense. Good job Serena."

He stands, "You go again I need to block that"

Deciding they've both got the spell pretty much down, Sarah decides to use..

Serena was surprised at her speed at using her shield charm and firing back at Andrew... and even more shocked she landed him on the floor! "Sorry, Andrew... I guess practicing really helps!"
After she helped Andrew up and handed him his wand she shouted "Expelliarmus!"
She braced for what was to come....

Sahara blocked the spell and it is redirected to Nadia who chants "Protego" as well. But instead of responding to the attack by re-directing the spll she reflected it to the roof: there were too many people in there.

"OK, here I go again - Expelliarmus!"

This time Andrew is expecting the spell, but allows it to hit him. He knows that the practice for Serena is important for her control and his taking the spell with toughen his grip on his wand. He holds tight but after a couple of second his wand is forced from his hand and he is thrown backwards. He is lucky this time and remains standing as his wand clatters on the floor at Serena's feet.

"Excellent control Serena!!" Andrew says after he steadys himself. "You need the wand to come to you."

OCC: I sent you a PM about something check it out.

Serena bends down to pick up Andrew's wand saying, "I thought you were going to hang on to it that time... I was waiting for your counterspell... I thought I might end up on my bum this time! Here!" She hands back his wand and steps back again.

"Would you like to try again?"

Andrew takes a deep breath, nodding to Serena and she shouts "Expelliarmus". :sorcerer:
