*Completely surprised by the spell that is deflected back at her, Lina tries to duck, but the spell hits her and her wand flies up in the air. She looks up at Nadia *

Nadia lols (=P). "I have much practice in this spell, I'm a third year you see. But actually it's not that difficult; just try put you wand 90 grades from the ground - change your wrist possition to defect to both sides." *Nadia tried to show her words with her actions: the wand was first erect and vertical from the floor - Nadia used the other hand to add on the movement of the feeble inclination of the wand.

"Some like to put the wand horizontal for this, to help them realize where hte inclination goes, like this -" Then Nadia slowly put the wand horizontal to the ground, all the way escorted by her other hand which followed the tip of the wand pathern, and the she inclined the wand again to make a slight change in the deflection of said curse. Nadia sighed,

"It's pretty much easier than it looks, if you have a good sense of direction - you sould try slowing a curse with Impedimenta - that is the real thing."

Nadia faced Lina again and raised her wand. "Now you try it: I'll send a hex and you try deflecting it so that it bounces and hits me again... ready?"

Nadia possitioned herself and then, "Impedimenta!"

Feesha took her hand, "I'm in Gryffindor, sure I'll be your partner " "so um you want to start or me?"

"I'll shoot a spell at you and you can try to block it then. I'll just do a simple easy spell, expelliarmus. So on the count of three..."Star said looking at Feesha making sure she was ready "One, Two, Three... Expelliarmus" Star said holding her wand sturdy...

As Star shot the spell, Feesha got ready, she then yelled "Progeto, " "oh shoot" the spell hit her and her wand went flying, and she fell backwards, and started laughing "i always get my words mixed up, but I'm working on it, no wonder my brother says i 'm likemy cousin Tonnks, Protego, protego, protego. ok I think I got it, here lets try you."
she got and got her wand, she turned and faced Star, "you ready?"

"ok" Star said helping Feesha back to her feet... "Sorry, that was a little hard" she said stepping back and taking her postition. "Ready, one, two three," Star sees a wisp of a spell and says "protego" and flicks her wand in the movment that was directed... and the spell rebounds...

"awsome, lol protego, i think i got,"

"Ok, ready for a second go?" Star asked... seeing Feeshas determined face she knew she was. "One, Two, Three" she shot a spell out at Feesha hoping she got the spell correct...

A shield formed around Nadia prepared to take Lina's spell in advance (cheat! =P); feeling more secure she continued explaining, "the pronunciation goes 'pro-TAY-go' which means 'to defend' in latin, and its also known as the Shield Charm."

"i am so sorry, Andrew..." Riiya extends her hands to help him up. "i don't know...i guess i was in the duelling zone are you alright?again i am so sorry..."

Riiya walked towards his wand and picks it up and passes it to him. "well, looks like its the other way around...shall we go again?"

Riiya and Andrew went seperate ways for about 10 paces and turned around.

"1,2...3!" Riiya and Andrew said at the same time. Andrew shot a streak of purple Disarming Spell and it hurled towards Riiya. she quickly took a step back and bent her right leg back and shouted, "PROGETO" with the right wand movement.

as soon as his spell was absorbed, Riiya instantly shot back a blue streak at Andrew and he managed to block back and he gave a shot of reply as he shifted to the right. Riiya had no time to change her position with that sudden reply.

instead, she turned her hip towards her left and said, "Progeto." the spell bounced for the second time on her shield and shot back at Andrew, missing him by inches.

again, the impact was too much for her as her wand was out of her hand as soon as the spell bounced and she almost fell on her back,but managed to keep her balance at the last minute, during which she looked like a mad girl waving her hand about to keep her balance....

PROTEGO

Rictusempra!(makes people laugh)

"Expelliarmus!" yells Adam as he hits one at his partner. Adam's partner cries: "Protego!" and the Disarming spell looks like it is fighting the Shield Charm. The Disarming Charm findsa weak spot in the shield, drives through it and forces Adam's partner to drop his wand.

Padfoot, Adam's partner, looks down at his wand and then at Adam, "That one didn't go well for me." His wand is only his feet and he tries to "Accio" to his hand, His wand jumps into his hand. "Hey Adam did you see that? I made my wand come to my hand. Cool, I've never done that before"

Padfoot and Adam continue practicing. They circle and fight spells towards each other, each being successful using the Shielding Charm.

OOC: Adam I hope it was okay to pick up as your partner.

*As Nadia explains the wand movements, Lina tries to copy them. After a few tries, she feels sure that she can master it. When Nadia casts the Impedimenta charm on her, Lina does the wand movement she had just leared. When shouting "PROTEGO", a shield forms around her and the spell bounces right off her and heads back towards Nadia. However, that girl was clever and had already produced a shield, so the spell bounced off again, almost hitting a nearby student*

Hey I did it! Thanks for the help! I'm actually a third year too, but DADA was never my best subject. *smiles*

After much practice Serena braced as Professor Rae came her way again. "Expelliarmus" shouted the professor and Serena quickly used the shield charm again, "Protego" she shouts back. "I felt like it was stronger this time... thanks for teaching us such a great defensive charm... I'm sure we'll get lots of use from this, thanks professor." :sorcerer:

Sonam comes back a day after practicing...

Her partner shouts Expelliarmus. Sonam yells Protego without any hesitation and performs the spell correctly. She is very happy...

"Good job! And yes I am ready!" Star said then saw someone who needed a partner, "Hey, you are welcome to join us if you need someone to pratice with, I am Star by the way, Hufflepuff house" she asid smiling.

*Looks up at sectret_garden (OOC: sorry, don't know your name...) and smiles*

Sure you can join us, I can start by casting a spell on you and you block it, ok?
