There is a sign hanging outside the DADA classroom, under the rules and near the homework board. "Attention Students! If you are interested in joining a Defense organization established by Professor Rae, please read the following:
Professor Rae will be meeting during the course of the term with students who would like to begin their Defense training. Subject matter will include a variety of spells and skill sets that are included in actual Auror training.
If you are interested, please PM the professor and she will add your name to the member list. Points will be given to those members who manage to practice and master these spells and skills, and at the end of the term, those who earn enough points will be rewarded with a medal and the title of Auror-in-Training." | |

"This belt my parents gave me really helps! It holds the wand exactly where I need it! Oh, and I have to practice alot.. because.. I can be verrry clumsy! It doesn't help when your wand goes flying or if you wind up pointing it at yourself either! I've had a few...let's just call them.. moments of chaos!" said Serena laughing at herself.
"It really helped to when we practiced during one of our meetings! I got lots of tips from the Professor and some other students as well!"

Andrew, after making sure the Professor was aware of Adam being stunned, found himself practicing with a large group of students. The group was soon casting various spell his way. He was amazed that amount of awareness needed to watch so many people who all might try to hex him. He would be looking at one person, Bitten perhaps, only to hit by a hex cast by Geraldine. He quickly learn to develop looking out the sides of his eyes when facing someone.
He began to sweat and feel the stress as the group's pace quicken. The energy of the magic in the room was powerful as his group and other pair or groups practiced at this quick tempo. He wondered if this might just be a taste of what a magical battle might be like, but just as the thought took his mind off the exercise, Andrew was hit will another spell. Once he terminated the hex, he realized that wondering thoughts did him no good in this situation and that he must concentrate.  Let's Go Lions!

Professor Rae opened the classroom door and prepared the room for the students. Once again, all the desks were pushed back and room was made for some mild dueling.
Once the students had arrived, Professor Rae gestured for them to find a comfortable place to sit or stand. "Today, I want you to practice one of the more useful spells I learned as an Auror. Incarcerous is a spell that allows you to safely capture and retain an opponent without harming them through magical means. It also keeps them conscious but immobile." She flicked her wrist and muttered "Incarcerous!" Ropes sprang from her wand and wrapped around a desk. "To remove the ropes, I'd like for you to use a minor cutting spell. Diffindo!" The ropes fell to the floor and she made them disappear with a simple "Evanesco."
"Alright, give it a try with a partner. Once again, after you've mastered it, you may start using it with other spells in a mock duel."

While waiting for a response Nadia tried remembering some basic things like the wand movement and the incantation, "in-CAR-sir-us... inCARsirus... Incarcerous!" Nadia smiled satisfied. Incarcerous Spell, from Latin "incarceratus". She loved this spell.

At the same time, Aschere was practicing the wand movements required for casting the spells. She also went over the other spells they had learnt in the previous classes..."Protego...Expelliarmus...Gelatinus...Finite Incantatem...incarcerous...Diffindo...evanesco..." And there were a couple of special ones... Aschere grinned. 'Rictusempra...tarantagella' she murmured.
Practicing the wand movements for the last time, she looked up to see if Geraldine was ready. Meeting her eyes, she said, "On the count of three - whoever manages to shoot first, ok?"
"One.....two.....three-Diffindo!"

*It turned out quite well, except Aschere's right sock.It looked as if a dog gnawed the sock*

"Aaaahhhh!!!" Aschere shouted out of pure shock - not that she was hurt at all. However, she hadn't the time to react to Geraldine, down on her knewws as she was.

Andrew walks in just as Aschere falls to ground tied up in ropes. He listens around the room the to hear the spell and watch the wand movement. He walks over to Geraldine and Aschere. Can I join the two of you or do we need to work only in pairs of two, today?"
