"They could do an apprenticeship with the OWLs, if they find somebody to train them. Or they could just set up their own lab and get down to work," Professor Phoenix grinned.

"Dark wizards," Professor Phoenix said, "sometimes even faults when it comes to the judicative branch in the Ministry."

The dust was still streaming out of the burst bubbles from the male plant.

“Let’s just pay attention to this crescent here.”, Professor Phoenix said and pointed her wand to a silver crescent right on top of the plant.

“Can everybody see? All right. Now look… here comes the golden mist…”

The dust was now on the same hight as the crescent. It concentrated around it. In the end it looked like a golden bubble around the tiny silver form. Then, quite suddenly, the dust begann to be sucked inside the crescent.

“See? The crescent sucks all the mist inside, and then… look…”

Instead of the silver crescent, there was a little pearly-white bean hanging there. It grew steadily for a while and then dropped onto the soil.

“What are these?”, Professor Phoenix asked.

"Seeds I reckon..." Nadia said almost to herself while watching.

"Seeds?" Sarah guessed

"Professor, I am sorry but I don't understand what you mean. Could you elaborate? How do you wand-paint and how do you use it for dark purposses?"

Zekke had Accioed something from his room and since it was a ways away, it took a few moments for the items to arrive. He leaned over to get a better look at the plant and started sketching a picture, using the charmed watercolor pen he had just Accioed to color it in.

Nadia's question perplexed him as well and so he kept his ears open to whatever else the Professor might have to say about it.

"There are certain techniques," Professor Phoenix shrugged, "one can get information about an owner from his wand. But I'm no expert on this, so I really couldn't tell you how."

“Exactly! Seeds--Norandola beans.”

She took out a little wooden box. They recognized it as the one she had used in her last lesson to keep the Norandola beans in. Professor Phoenix opened it. There were only three beans left.

“Please levitate the beans into the box, using the Levitation Spell Wingardium Leviosa. Take care not to touch the beans.”

Aschere watches in wonder as the beans sprout out. Taking out her wand, she says "Wingardium Leviosa"
Directing the bean with her wand, she drops it into the crate.

"So, Professor - do they sprout if nobody touches them at all then?"

Kali watches some of the beans sprout out and says, "Wingardium Leviosa." SOme beans floated and landed in the crate.

"Under the right circumstances, sure. It's not that big a deal--they wouldn't all burst into bloom if they were touched--but they would be influenced, even if only to a minimum extent, and that's why we try to keep them as 'contact-less' as possible."

Riiya took out her wand from her jumper's left pocket and pointed at the little pearly-white bean hanging from the Norandola plant. "Wingardium Leviosa," she said. a group of the pearl-like beans had floated from her command. she brought her wand towards the wooden box the Professor had taken out earlier.when she was sure it had landed safely in the box, she then released it from her spell and brought her wand down.

"wow. If Norandola's give out seedlings at every full moon, then there would be a lot of these around the world...Professor. do...these Norandola plants..male and female..act like...a pairing sevice as well?what i mean is...does the Norandola plants mate whenever there is a male and a female plant or must it be a specific pair?"

Putting her curiosity aside, Nasdia started working.

*swish and flick movement* "Wingardium Leviosa!"

One of the Beans started levitating on air and Nadia, carefully, take it to the box with the rest of the beans.

When finishing, her curiosity getting the best of her, she asked, "I am curious, professor, if these beans stays "untoched" how is their gender going to develop? Don't they need a person or either sex to define them?"

"i guess they stay dormant until a person touches them...so, when a guy touches a seed, that seed would be a male seed. and when a girl touches another seed, it would be a female seed..."

*Sarah get out her wand and points it at the beans, does the swish and flick* Wingardium Leviosa *carefully guides the beans into the box*

*Vicki gets her wand and says Wingardium Leviosa and points to bean...she carefully places the bean in the crate*

Andrew help harvest the beans. He carefully uses the spell to move beans one by one into the small crate of Professor Phoenix. He watches to make sure his beans don't touch a human.

Hearing the question about human contact he says, "Wait, I thought the seed decided the gender not planter. Professor do all seeds planted by male wizards become only male?"

He sits down to sip his hot chocolate and make a drawing of the seeds hanging from the plant.

Greek_snitch takes her wand out. 'Wingardium leviosa'. The beans start to float in the air. She takes her wooden box and and allows them to fall inside it.

Lexy whipped out her wand and carefully guided the seed to the crate

won't our wands influence the seeds...if they are part of us,wouldn't they influence the plants at least some?

Padfoot perform the charm and guides the seed into the crate. He returns to his spot in the circle and put his robe around himself. He feels very chilled in the night air.

"Professor do you have to wait for the seed to hibernate or could we start planting them right away? I know some plants, like tuplips, have to have time for thier tuberals or seeds to mature before being planted."

"If there is a plant of the opposite sex nearby at the full moon, they will mate," Professor Phoenix smiled, "but mostly, they are always far apart, and therefore, not that many new plants have the chance to develop."

"That is quite right, Nadia, and only when they have been touched--it could even be a stray animal--will they start to grow."

Professor Phoenix nodded, "Yes."

"The wand itself would, but not the spell."

"No, once they have been touched, they are ready to be planted, no matter what time of the year or how old they are."

"so, Professor, what you're saying is that..." Riiya tries to recap.

"Norandola's mate when the opposite sex is nearby and it is a full moon,which is not often. and the sex of the Norandola can only be selected once a living being, man or animal touches it. and as long as the seeds are not touched or affected physically in any way, it won't grow."

"but what would the difference be between one which is touched from the wand of a wizard and one which is touched by...the hands of a human or an animal?"

"The difference lies in the amount the seed is influenced. With magical help, a wand, it will be influenced greatly. Otherwise, mostly only the gender and a few simple traits will be decided.

“Thank you, class.”

There was no more dust coming from the male plant anymore and the female plant didn’t have any more crescents on it. It looked oddly bare without them. Professor Phoenix took the black veil she had used before and covered them with it again.

“I dare say, you long for your beds now. So, off you go! Class dismissed. And if possible, stay out of the caretaker’s way. He’s not to punish you for being out of bed tonight, but we needn’t push our luck anyway.

“Good night, all of you. And if you have any urgent questions, don’t hesitate to ask now.”

"Goodnight Professor", Serena says yawning...as she gathered her books and blanket to leave, "This was my favorite class ever!"

"Umh, only a question, is about last class hw assigment: what was the actual answer? Because I gave various reasons for it happening but I never knew if they were OK. It seems to me, for the answer you gave Aschere, that it might be OK but... just in case... Could you tell me now?

"Also, while we are at it. You can extract information about a wizard by the means of their wand: is this since the day the wand chooses the wizard or later afterwards? I am guessing maybe the most the wand stays with the wizard the most accurate it is describing him/her... very much alike the Norandolas. Is that the answer?"
