"Okay, I'll do the stunning. Voldemortsucks, you'll do the untangling."

Seeing students around her getting ready for the class, Aschere gropes her bag for her wand.
where did I keep it?

She begins to panic as she still can't find it. Taking the bag off her shoulder and crouching down on the ground, she empties it quickly, seperating each item and making sure the wand isn't stuck inside any of the books or in a roll of parchment....
Close to tears, she puts back her stuff. Oh where was that stupid wand? She stands up to make a general announcement to class to ask if anyone had seen it, when something falls at her feet. Her wand! Overjoyed, Aschere picked it up, all smiles with relief.
"Ready to start, Professor " she smiles.

Kay looks over at Didymus. "Are you ready?"

Didymus quickly practices the bandaging spell for use on the Whomping Willow.
"Ready!"

Actually, I'm a 4th year....



*turns to her partner, Sarah (lightstar)*

"Did you want to do the untangling or stunning?"

After locking the greenhouse door behind themselves, Professor Phoenix led the class around the school gardens towards the Whomping Willow, which stood pretty much in solitude not far from the castle walls. As they approached, they could see that the tree was not behaving in its usual manner. The leaves and branches seemed to be hanging their heads in a defeated manner, and on several points, you could see that the branches were badly bent or even broken, hanging limply from the tree.

A shudder passed through the Whomping Willow when the first voices reached it. Professor Phoenix motioned for the class to stand.

"I trust you now know your tasks. Now, in groups of two, form a large circle around the tree, making sure it is surrounded from all sides. Have a couple of feet between you and the next working pair.

"I will go forth to press the knot that will make the tree stand still. Once I have done this, I want I_AM_LORD_VOLDEMORT to step by quickly and take my place at the tree's knot. It'll start squirming just before the tree awakens again, so make sure to press it at that moment to keep the Whomping Willow frozen.

"Okay, position yourselves. Nobody touches the tree until I give you the signal."

Becca follews the professor out to the Womping Willow. She sighs and smiles to her partern Jill. She just wanted to change into her animagus form.

Didymus gripped her wand and walked forward a little bit.
She waited for the circle to fully form.

*listens to the Professor then takes a spot in the circle with Sarah*

Jill placed her hand on Becca's shoulder in comfort, smiling.
"Here we are!" She walked uphill towards the Willow's right. "You're stunning and enervating right?" Jill folded her robe up on the ground a few feet off to the side. "It'll be ok," she smiled again.

*Follows them down to the willow and then looks at Backlash*
Soooo.....what part do you want to do?
*She says as they get into the circle*

Kay gets her wand ready. She turns to Didymus. "I will tell you when to move forwards. Listen for my signal and everything will be fine!"

Didymus nodded at Kay and grinned.She was looking forward to her first encounter with the Whomping Willow.

(OOC:I have to go now because I need to get up early in the morning,sorry Kay.You can just act like my character is untangling the twigs when you need if you want.)

I'll stun. You untangle.

(Eyes the tree cautiously, waiting for the Professor's signal. Never thought I'd take part in fixing up a tree, he thinks to himself.)

OOC: If I can't post, just assume I'm doing what I'm supposed to be doing.

*Waits for the Professor*

"Ready."

Felicia gets outside and looks at the whomping willow, lol **she wispers to her partner** my brother told me all about the tree, he and his friends were one of the guys who tried to get others to go near the tree. So you ready to do this?

*Virginia waits at a safe distance from the Whomping Willow for the professor to give the signal.*

Alex stands with her wand in the air waiting...

" Oh wait prof. i'm a first year and if a branch is about to attack us and none of the stunners stop it in time are we allowed to stunn it because i know Stupefy and i don't want to be hit. " * Gets next to firbolt7 to get ready and run for a brance. *

"If nobody else notices, yes, of course. But it shouldn't be a problem if people pay close attention to the branches they have awoken.


"Okay. Wands ready! As soon as I_AM_LORD_VOLDEMORT is in place, you can go ahead."

Professor Phoenix approached the Whomping Willow and lifted her hands, palms facing the tree. It seemed to stop in its movement and one of its larger branches bent to the side a little, as if it was trying to cock its head.

She continued walking towards it slowly, keeping her eyes on the tree the whole time. Finally, she crouched down, still in the same position, slowly, very slowly, and then touched the knot.

The tree froze.

Professor Phoenix retreated from her position at the knot immediately, calling out to the students, "GO AHEAD! STUN AND HEAL!" and urging I_AM_LORD_VOLDEMORT to the knot. The students took their places at once.

Professor Phoenix then stood aside, palms towards the tree again to calm it, should anything happen.

"Stupefy!" She yelled loudly at a branch that was trying to get away.

*Waits for voldemortsucks to untangle the branches for the Healing*

"Oh, I love working with plants and healing ... I never thought school could be so much fun! How many people ever get the chance to work with a whomping willow?!" Serena, another first year said.

Kay turns to Didymus. "When I say 'now' it is safe to untangle the branches. Ready?"

She turns, facing the Whomping Willow and points her wand at a small section of tangled branches. "Ennervate!" Kay says in a loud but commanding voice.

"Now, Didymus!" Didymus approaches the awakened branches and begins to carefully untangle them. Kay keeps her full attention on the branches, prepared to stun them if they got out of control. Didymus finds a branch that needs healing. "Ferula!" she commands, pointing her wand at the area that needs to be bandaged.

Didymus steps back and looks at the untangled branches. "Kay, I'm done!" she says and walks back towards her classmate.

"Stupefy!" Kay says in a commanding voice. "Well done, Didymus! I think we handled that section quite well!"

Didymus nodded and waited patiently.
