*Cordelia finishes taking the note, and goes through her previous notes from previous years.
There she finds a chart.

"Is this the chart that help us determine those three numbers, professor?"

Look over at Zadkhiel. "I think its wonderful that you took Arithmancy in previous years at other schools. I think thats a benifit because you will probably know more than some. Sure, I would love to look over the book. I ask if I can see it after class though."

Professor then turns to voldemortsucks. "Don't worry about getting the numbers today. I wasn't going to go into them yet. Next class we will learn about our character numbers more. For today is just an introduction"

Professor Coolio then surries off to hpgirl476. "Your alittle ahead of me. I was going to introduce the numbers in the next class but yes, your absolutely right."

The Professor now searches to see if there are any more questions.

*Character number = general personality type
*Heart number = individual's inner life
(desires and fears hidden from others)
* Social number = the outer personality
(face shows to the outside world)

"How interesting."

"Yes it is fairladyHermione." Becca smiles after what the Professor says.

*kaz was jotting down all the notes onto her piece of parchment. she looks up awaiting next instructions*

Relieved that his French background wasn't going to cause any troubles, he relaxed and starting writing some more and found himself thinking back to what he had learned in Latin class about some muggle named Julius Caesar who created these magic squares that...

He was glad the professor wasn't going to teach them the numbers just yet -- he had a feeling he'd have to study extra hard to fully understand this and not get it mixed up with something else.

He had a thought and wondered if the two were in any way related. Figuring that since today was only introductions, he saved the question for the next lesson.

*slips in the back of the classroom, whips out quill and frantically starts taking notes*

I'm Jenny, professor. This is my third year, but my first time taking the course. Looks interesting!

Professor Answers Stardancer's questions. "I do belive so, however when some people calculate their numbers it isn't similar to them at all."

Star quickly writes down some more notes "Thank-you Professor." she said looking back up to her then returning abck to her paper to finish a few extra notes.

So some time the calculations could be wrong and not be the truth ?

Another thought popped into his mind and he raised his hand and waited to be called upon.

"Professeur, I've read in books that muggles also have their own ways to divining the future. They use these... these... cards. And they use the stars somehow, too. Astrology? Something like that, I think? Is it true?" Zekke's eyebrows furrowed in question.

Kay lays her quill down, and listens to the questions that other students are asking.

Somehow, the idea of muggles using such similar methods of divining the future (or trying to) seemed rather... outlandish to him and he swallowed a sudden laugh and forced a straight face.

*cordelia scribbles down few more key points then listens to other students' questions.

how can we tell there accurecy(sp?) i mean if it is slighty wrong is there anyway of telling?

Zekke glanced over at the other student and nodded. Well, at least he wasn't the only one who had read something like that. Sometimes he wondered if all the muggle books he liked to read (which he kept stashed away in the bottom of his trunk) was getting to him with all their peculiar stories.

Zekke thought about Kaz's question and nodded and raised his hand before answering. "I believe in Divination, there is always a chance of divining an alternate possibility. I suppose it could be the same with Arithmancy?"

Professor slides over to where HPgurl is to answer her question. "I think we need the 'Inner-eye' for good math skills. Simple math skills that is. Once you get the general idea its a breeze"

Professor then hurries off to Zadkhiel. "Indeed. It does have things to do with astrology. Arithmancy claims to have a system using astrology. However, I'll get to that in another lesson."

Professor Coolio now turns to the whole class.

"Well I am very glad that you all are a step ahead of me and know whats in store. Or I mean most of you. I'm glad to see that some of you have looked into this a bit. I'm afraid that class is going to have to end soon so I'll be getting in a few more questions and then assigning homework. Take note that the next lesson will be about your Character Number. Also we will have a review game where you can win some points for you house."

Lianna is trying hard to listen to the other students questions, but is finding it difficult. She's still a little jetlaged from arriveing at Hogwarts. She does find Zadkhiel's comment a little foolish.
'I've heard of muggles predicting future events and watched programs about it on a muggle tv'

"It must be accurate most of the times. If it isn't, this whole defining the inner-eye thing will be a completely joke, won't it?"

*Cordelia said dully. She was losing her interest on the subject as people started to asking questions like if it is correct or not.

Zekke nodded and scrawled out a note to himself in his notebook about the next class in which they would learn about their Character numbers. He recalled this from previous lessons and decided he'd compare his French textbook with his new English one.

"Ah yes, Arithmancy is like Divination in some ways. However some people find Arithmancy better because its used by determining numbers and not Visions or powers that some might have."

Professor now if you do do the calculations correctly there is still a chance that your solution doesnt fit the person correct?
