*Raises her hand again.

"But then how did he manage to grow the Basilisk here? Was he already growing it even before the chamber was finished or did he come back to Hogwarts to keep the creature in the chamber once it was complete?"

"Well, there aren't any records of him actually growing the basilisk himself. The only known records of the basilisk are in Tom Riddle's day. But seeing as the statue itself was the home to the basilisk, it's not completely ludicrus to think that Salazar grew the basilisk himself."

"Basilisks are born from a chicken's egg,hatched beneath a toad so it would be quite easy to get it into the chamber whenever Salazar wanted.There is a law to stop wizards and witches breeding Basilisks that was created in Medievil times.
I think Salazar would have kept the Basilisk hidden in the Chamber of Secrets as soon as it was born.No-one knew about the chamber at the time except Salazar and maybe a few House Elves so I think it would be the safest place for him to keep the Basilisk to avoid being caught breaking the law."

"Well obviously only Salazar and maybe only few house elves knew about it. Salazar was the one who came up with an idea to build such a place.
And Salazar must have taken care of the creature for a while. I mean, the basilisk needs to be train, doesn't it? It had to be trained to finish Slytherin's noble work, which was to destroy all the Muggle borns in the school. Salazar must have done something to the creature, so not only himself can control it but his heir as well."

"Exactly Didymus! Take five points for Ravenclaw!" Professor Lainey said smiling down at her. "I see someone has been paying attention in Headmaster Hendrik's class. Very good. Alright..well if there are no more questions, we'll head back through the tunnel.."

Didymus grinned inwardly,a few more points and Ravenclaw would be in the lead.
She started to walk towards the exit of the chamber as the class made their way back to the tunnel.

*Cordelia ignored Didymus's grin, though she felt disappointed. Gryffindor have worked so hard to be in the lead this term. She'll just believe it and do her best.
She didn't move incase other students had a question.

"Proffesor sorry i have another question" she said "I was wondering because house elves ive for a long time do you think there would be any alive which helped build the chamber?" she asked quickly taking one last look around.

Nadia immediately went where the professor was, with puppy-eyes, "Oh, please, professor; isn't there any chance of us climbing inside Salazar Slytherin statue's mouth? We know the Basilisk came from there, so there must be something inside, a place big enough to let the giant Basilisk go though! Who know, we might find Slytherin's personal chambers! Oh, please!"

*anxious* "Besides, I have many other questions and want to finish the details of my drawing too," she added. "I was a fool not to bring a camera as Mrs Weasley... speaking of which - Mrs Weasley, do you mind if I do copies of your photos ones you develop them? Please? -__-"

Yeah, please professor! I really really really want to go into the mouth!

Mrs. Weasley looks at Nadia. "Why of course you can have copies of the photos." She then looks a Professor Lainey. "I was just wondering. Professor. How exactly are we going to get back through the tunnel. When Harry, Ron, and Ginny were trapped down here, Professor Dumbledore's phoenix, Ffolkes, flew them back to the bathroom. Are we going to use the same form of transportation?"

Hears what Mrs Weasley said, titleing her head. "That's a good question. We know phoenix to be strong, to carry very heavy weights, but all of us is just too much - we will break the phoenix tail!" -(hey! That rythmed ) "We would at least need a dozen phoenixes to carry us all, or a very healthy phoenix and lots of free time....

"Though we could also cast Accio on our brooms and use them to fly off, but I don't think all of us know the incantation, the first years for example... Oh, this is not a good omen... Does somebody know the incantation to blow-up somebody? (ooc: PoA spell, Aunt Marge as victim)"

"A swelling solution could do it but I don't think anyone has their vial from Potions.Like you said we could try accio to summon people's broomsticks,although I never was very much of a Quidditch person so I don't have one of my own yet."

*Grins at Nadia*
"Yes Proffesor could we maybe go into the mouth of the statue we might find something valuabe and rare and if it was a great discovery you would be the teacher who gets all the credit along with Head Hendrik" she said pleadingly "It would be a great experience" she said waiting for a reply. "Do you think theres anything in there?" she asked walking up to Nadia.

"I don't know, but it will be a bloody incredible expecience, along wit the visut if the chamber itself, eh? There must be something in there, if only enourmous pipes to fit the Basilisk. I just need to know, you know, if the professor allows us I will be the first to climb up^^"

"I think," she said to Didymus, "that if we need brooms one of us can carry you, but the swelling solution - I don't think it will work. For one, instead of blowing us, it will only makes us heavier judging by Proferssor Airlia's classes..."

Andrew looks at the students suggesting the only way out of the Chamber would be flying. "Professor, considering that the Chamber is no longer a secret, is it safe to say stairs or may tunnels have been discovered that lead us back to the surface. I guess I thinking in terms the stones used in some areas of the Chamber had to come from the surface so there was a way to get the stone into Chamber other than the slide we took to enter. I can't see house elves or Slytherin sliding from the room above everytime they needed to bring something into the Chamber during it's construction. I know from what you said early at the beginning of class the Chamber and it's many outlets must have been explored after Harry and Ron opened the Chamber when Harry rescued Ginny, slew the Basilisk and destroyed the dairy of the 16 old Lord Voldemort, Tom Riddle."

"How are we going to get back up, professor? Well, we could fly. But what are we going to use or what spell to cast?"

Andrew stood there waiting for the Professor to respond....his thought drifted to the fact the exit might be throught the mouth of the statue of Slytherin...the very place many students wanted to go. Andrew shuddered he didn't like that thought. Entering the very hiding place of huge creature. Yet he had to admit it might have been the best guarded if some had wondered onto the opening on the surface if it wasn't charmed like the sink in the bathroom above the slide.

Suddenly Andrew had a question, "Professor, has the lake always been beside the school or was it added after Slytherin left Hogwarts?

Ponders what Andrew said,

"But if that was true, and, like the professor said, the place magically changes though the years.... I am thinking the proper entrace you talk about, when Salazar Slytherin lived here, could have magically changed its shape, resulting in the slide we, as well as Harry Potter and cia, took to arrive here.

"If such an entrace still exist as it is, then Riddle wouldn't have needed going to the girl toilet and kill Myrtle in the process. And I didn't see any other doors or entraces when we came here, did you? Where is this exit leading to? It would be dangerous for the students to have such an easy entry to such a place...
"Besides I think such entrace should be a new entrace, only that the later wizards did to the place after Harry Potter's discovery of it... But that would be a destroying of an historical place, I would say. A real waste. And there's no trace of keeping any of what's here, this place looks abandoned, like, for years!"

*Nadia pondered it some more, and judging her two previous theories had been right, she decided she would express her opinion again. What was to waste?*

"I have a theory as to how Slytherin and Tom Marvolo Riddle got to get out of the chamber every time they wanted: The basilisk must have helped them every time to get up again, right? That would explain why Myrtle saw the basilisk and died when coming out from the toilet... But how we are exiting the room, it is still a mystery to me..."

*she shook her head, and then came up with a second theory. She clapped her hands*

"Hey! Maybe Slytherin had an incantation for the slide we used, and it can be turned into stairs! I have seen people doing it before, enchanting stairs into slides! It would fit perfectly -" *frowns* "But you need a kind of password for that, and I don't think any of us knows which was Slytherin's password, do we?"

.... Then added, "I still want to go inside the statue's mouth-- won't us be climbing inside Slytherin's statue's mouth? Please, professor? I am really curious about what's inside!"

"Nadia, I doubt that we have seen a 1/4 of the tunnels and passages that are connected to the Chamber. You may be correct about Riddle using the basilisk to exit but even that would be difficult. The size alone of it would not make it an easy mount for him. Plus even Riddle would have had to worry about the basilisk's gaze killing him. Surely the he wasn't immune to it, because no one is. Riddle controlled the monster but he couldn't have overcome that. Riddle contoled the basilisk with Parsletongue speech not by looking at it in the eyes."

Serena shuddered as she listened to Andrew and Nadia talk about the Baskilisk. She thought about how to get back up to the girl's restroom. "Without brooms, we can't fly... but maybe we could take turns levitating each other through the tunnel... I'm sure Professor Laney would have no problem getting out on her own!"

" That's would probably be because she is a ghost!" Nadia said to Serena, then returned to her previous converstion.

"You have a point saying this place is enourmous, and so is Hogwarts, but if such entrance existed Riddle wouldn't have used the girl toilet, neither would have Harry Potter, his friends Weasley and Gilderoy Lockhart. On the other hand, the only tunel inside here is the one that brought us here, right? Or did you see any other?" - Nadia's eyes started to gleam with enthusiasm at the idea. "That would be great, to explore further!

"I am just saying I didn't see any more tunnels, mind, not bashing your idea of the existance of said entrace. As I said, it might exist; only I think modern wizards after Harry Potter's time would have built it, and not Slytherin himself judging by the history of this place."

"Now, regarding my theory of the Basilisk helping both Slytherin and Riddle out... Well, they could communicate with the Basilisk, meet insider the chamber, and not be killed in the process. Who tell us they couldn't have used the Basilisk as a way of transportation? And they surely had each Basilisk (if not the same basilisk) domesticated enough! I heard the Basilisk in Riddle's time, for one, wouldn't obey anyone but him; even with Harry Potter being a Parselmouth, that wouldn't make a difference...

"But maybe we should cut short our conversation for after the class, we don't have much time and I am still hoping we are allowed the Slytherin statue's mouth before we go~ ^^"

Professor Lainey thought long and hard aobut the requests of her students. The inside of the statue...it was bound to be full of Dark Magic...and being a ghost, there was really no way for me to find out. It was just a bit too dangerous...especially for the first years of my class,Professor Lainey thought to herself. "Class? Look, I am sorry, but I just cannot allow my students, especially my young ones into a statue that no doubt is full of Dark Magic. After listening to all of you talk, I think each and every one of you are underestimating Mr. Salazar Slytherin,"she said looking around at each of the students in turn. "I highly doubt he left the statue that so greatly portrays him unguarded, and especially so if his quarters are indeed located inside.... Moreover, We all know that Apparation is not allowed on Hogwarts grounds....but, something tells me that Mr. Salazar bent that rule for himself. Do you really see one of the greatest wizards of all time riding a basilisk, or his broom, or climbing hundreds of stairs everytime he left his Chamber? No, I believe Salazar had his ways, though to be honest, no one really knows. These are all speculations. Now, I'm sorry to disappoint you, but seeing as none of you, nor myself, are fully-trained curse breakers, I just cannot allow you in. I appologize, and maybe when you all get older, a bit more experianced, I'll bring you all back down."

Professor Lainey looked back to the Statue one last time, sighed and turned back towards the tunnel. "Who was it that suggested the password protected stairs? Nadia? Five points to Slytherin for you are exactly right! As far as my knowledge goes, these stairs were put here in Potter's day, for the wizards to explore down here. So...if you'll all follow me..."And Professor Lainey swept through the tunnel and to the foot of the slide..

Serena was a little disappointed that they would have to climb stairs, but only because she thought it would be great fun to be levitated through the tunnel. "Oh well, I guess it's safer this way" she said to herself as she followed her classmates out of the chamber towards the exit.

Nadia's face fell, but considerig Professor Lainey's words she thought she was right. After all the remaining of the magic a place has can endure its effects for years... even when so long ago. Besides, there was Riddle to think about. He could have put new curses. She sighed, still... it would have been such a interesting experience for them to have. And, with the Basilik killed, Nadia doubted there were too many curses left to break.... Both the basilisk and Slytherin - and maybe even Riddle! - could enter, so there must be something in there to use to enter...

Nadia nodded at the professor, both her theories confirmed (stair-slide & after HP's time built), and pondered on how Slytherin got out every time... It was not that she thought Salazar Slytherin of less than a prudent wizard, and she knew about his Dark Wizard's fame, but that was even more tempting a thing to climb inside there... to find the personal chambers... Who knew what they could encounter there?

(*Nadia muttered feeling somewhat stupid: 'Mmh, well, if at that time poeple rided dragons...'* :ermsmile: )

She sighed again as she started retreatening back where the other were to start going back to the entrance of the tunnel, "Oh, I wish I could come back with a curse-breaker some time..." Nadia thought she might be asking for too much and felt like being pouty (-__-)
