*Raises hand again* Because if you can perform the tarantallegra on the enemy, their legs will go out of control, thereby making it harder for them to retaliate because they will have a harder time aiming for you? |
"Yes, Willow, five points for Ravenclaw. You are certainly on the right track. Both spells cause a loss of motor skills that could prevent even the most advanced of Wizards from fully performing at capacity." "Are there any questions at this time regarding either spell?" |
Mrs. Weasley, sorry that her previous questions caused such a problem, raises her hand and asks the Professor, " in a defensive situation, Professor Rae, which jinx do you feel is the better to use?" |
What is the counter-spell for the jelly-legs and the tarantallegra? |

"Five points to both of you for being brave enough to ask a question. Now, let's practice a bit. Please find a partner. I'm sure you're surprised that I'm letting you cast such a spell against one another, but I'm sure you also know better than to even try it outside of the classroom unless directed or threatened. Let's practice the Jelly-Legs Jinx first. The incantation is Gelatinus (jel-AH-tin-us) and the wand movement is like a loose lightning bolt." She demonstrated the movement. "Go ahead and cast it on your partner. For the caster, try to focus on the feel of the spell, and for the 'victim,' try to accustom yourself to being wobbly and see if you can Finite Incantatem yourself. Once you are done, you may switch and cast on the opposite partner." |
feesha gets up, "hey does anyone need a partner?" OOC: if anyone needs a partner and they pick me, I'm going to bed right now, but i'll be on in the morning, so just keep going and pretend like I'm there |
"Hey Feesha. I'll be :)" Aschere and Feesha moved a little away from the desks and faced eachother, wands out, trying to decide who would go first. *** They practiced the wand movement and the incantation a few times. "Ready?" Feesha asked. Aschere nodded. "Gelatinus!" The spell hit Aschere, and her legs began to feel odd... sort of wobbly and weak and rather numb. However, it hadn't completely inconvenienced her yet. So pointing her wand at her legs, and hoping she wouldn't miss - what with the way they were continuously shaking - "Finite incantatem" the weird feeling went away and was replaced by a tingling sensation for a few seconds before returning to normal. "My turn. You ready?" At the signal, Aschere traced her wand in a loose zig-zag movement and said,"Gelatinus!" The spell seemed to have the same effect on Feesha, who was able to de-jinx herself too."Guess we'll both need more practice, huh?" Aschere grinned. |
Riiya writes down a few more notes and then places her Quill down on the parchment. she then gets up and asks, "D-does anyone want to be my partner :) " |
*turns around to Riiya* I'll be your partner. Do you want to go first or should I? |
Didymus set down her quill after she had written down some notes. She stood up,stretched, picked up her wand and then looked for a partner to practice with. |
"Hi Didymus, I'm Serena, if you want to partner with me you can go first." Serena said... hoping she would still be able to stand because she was already clumsy on her own. :hello: |
* gets up looking for a partner. * " I need a partner anyone willing? " |
Mesum brightened up. "I'll be your partner!" she said excitedly, whipping out her wand. "Do you want to go first or should I?" |
" Oh ok. Oh ladies first. " * he takes out his wand. * |

Didymus pointed her wand at Serena, ready to make the wand movement. "Gelatinus!" |
Mesum smiled. "Okay, here I go!" She stood opposite Mike. She practiced the movement a few times, and then she said the incantation. "Gelatinus," she said. "Okay, I think I've got it." She pointed her wand at Mike. "Gelatinus!" she yelled, swishing her wand in a lightning-bolt shape. She watched Mike start to wobble. "Yay!" she said happily. "I did it!" OCC- I have to go but Mike, just pretend that I'm still here. |

" Meh only if i could use a sheilding charm or dodge it. " * right when the spell hit him he pointed to his legs and said. * " Finite incantatem. My turn. " * and right after he said that he said. * " Gelatinus. " * the spell hit her and he legs started to wobble. * |

She laughed slightly at the strange feeling and pointed her wand to herself. "Finite Incantatem!" |
 "This is fun to watch.... you did so much better than me... it was all I could do not to knock over the desk!" Serena said laughing! |
Didymus laughed too and then smiled. She sat down at her desk once again and wrote down on another piece of parchment some notes about the jinx. |
OOC: thanx Aschere,i"ll pretend like your here to make up to you After practicing the spell to each other not using they're wands they prepared to try again. Feesha: "You ready for another go?" Aschere:" Ready when you are" Feesha :"okie, Gelatinus!" Aschere's legs began to wobble and more than last time. She almost wobbled right into the side desks, but caught herelf before she made contact Aschere: "Finite Incantatem!", okie your turn" Feesha: ready! Achere: Gelatinus!" Feesha began to wobble, she wobbles around Feesha "whoa this is weird" She then wobbled in a desk, and fell to the floor Between laughs she managed to stop herself, "Finite Incantatem!", She stayed on the floor laughing, " I guess we got a little too good at it, " she continued alughing and then stood up they both went back to their desks and wrote down how they had felt, |
Aschere smiled at Feesha and made short notes on her piece of parchment. |
Mesum wobbles around. "This feels so weird..." she commented as she pointed her wand to her legs. "Finite Incantatem," she says and her legs to back to normal. She takes her notebook and begins to write notes. |
