Professor Rae hurried into her classroom and took a look around. It wasn't nearly ready, but she supposed it would have to do. She muttered a quick cleaning charm to whisk away some of the dust that had accumulated in the few days since she had been in there and moved to sit behind her desk. Tapping her wand impatiently, she waited for the students to arrive and take their seats. ooc: Sorry for the delay, but I've been having some real life issues that needed to be taken care of. You're going to have to deal with me having a real life :P. Anyway, I'm here now... let's get this party started. Please read the rules. |

Professor Rae rose from behind her desk, settling her quill on her parchment before moving in front of it. She sat lightly on the edge of the desk, looking at the room for a quiet moment. "Good day, class. I'm very excited to be back with you today. Many of you know me already, and I hope you are glad to be back. For those who do not, I am Professor Rae, and this is Defense Against the Dark Arts. For the sanity of those who have already lived through it, we will not spend a great deal of time rehashing what exactly the Dark Arts are. Suffice it to say, they are bad. We will not be practicing Dark Magic in this room, nor will I be using it on you. We will be learning a lot of defense, and taking the time to look at several animals I think are pertinent. You will only be in danger if you act foolishly at any time. If that is the case, while I am sorry you are hurt, you will be given detention once your stay in the infirmary is over. Any questions so far?" |

"I'm going to have to remind you that talking to each other during class is called chatting unless I tell you it is permitted. Do not do it. I won't ask again." "Let me give you a brief history of myself so that you can be confident I am qualified for this job. I attended Hogwarts and was a Ravenclaw, graduating about 8 years ago. After I left, I immediately attended Auror's training, which was quite hard and very challenging," she said with a wry grin. "I managed to survive and served as an Auror for two years, before I..." she hesitated. "I quit due to personal reasons." She intended to go on, but saw concern and curiosity on her students faces. "I married a fellow Auror during training. He was killed and I was wounded during a sabotaged raid," she said flatly. "Headmistress Loryen offered me this position, knowing my background. Headmaster Hendrik kept me on. I do enjoy teaching, and I don't intend to go back to being an Auror. Are there any questions or shall we go on?" She knew she was moving fast, but Professor Rae didn't want to dwell on the bad memories. |
"Awesome, your guys, are my first friends in school." Sage said scooting his chair around to see Marrisa. "Hey, you all want to see something cool?" He said screwing up his in concentration. With a POP! his hair turned blue. "I'm a metomorphmagus." At Prof Raes words his turned around and sat down. OOC: sorry I said animagues, I meant metomorph, :P |
*smiles understandingly* Go ahead Professer, I am looking quite forward to what you will be teaching us |
