| | You walk onto the astronomy tower and take a seat on the floor beside a telescope. You glance into the telescope and watch the night sky with awe. It's such a beautiful ocean full of mystery, you think as you wait for your fellow students and teacher to make themselves present. |

| Professor Ziarre smiled again at the students, "That is also correct. Now in saying that then you probably know the outer planets are Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto. These are separated by the inners by asteroids." He told them.
"Now do we have any questions before we continue?" Then turing to Antwone, "Well yes a wizard had. But of course we have different ways and equipment...well thats for another day." |

I have a question Professor - do you know when the next full moon is going to be? None of my calendars have it marked.

*raises hand* Professor, I have a question, since astrology is such an anchient art, wouldn't it be true that centuries ago, astrologers believed the earth to be the center on the universe? Therefore, have modern astrologers adapted new methods now that we know that the sun is in fact the center of the Universe?

*Scribbles Down Notes*
This is what I know about the Inner Planets, Proffesor:
Mercury -
Mercury is the closest planet to the Sun. It is 36 million miles from the Sun. Mercury is a small dry planet. The side of Mercury that faces the Sun is 932 degrees F. This is hot enough to melt lead. As the planet turns away from the Sun the night time temperatue drops to minus 328 degrees F. Because it is the closest planet to the sun it is the hottest by day. But at night it gets very, very cold. Its dusty surface has many big holes. They were made by asteroids and comets crashing into its surface. Mercury has no air or life on it. There is no atmosphere to block out the Sun's rays. Mercury is 3,000 miles(4,900 km) across. It has no moons or rings.
Venus -
Venus is 67 million miles (108 million km) away from the sun. It is the 2nd planet from the sun. Venus doesn't have any satellites. It is closer to the Earth than any other planet. It is very different from Earth.
Venus's atmosphere has a lot of carbon dioxide gases in it. It never rains on Venus because it is too hot for rain to form. It's about the same size as Earth.
Venus's clouds are made mostly of a deadly yellow poison called sulfuric acid. Venus can be seen as a star and is sometimes called "The Evening Star".
Earth -
The two planets closest to the Sun is Mercury and Venus. Then comes Earth. It is the 3rd planet from the Sun. The Earth is 93 million miles from the Sun. We know more about Earth than any other planet. Living things as we know them need sunlight, water, and certain gases. We know that Earth has all of these. There is about three times as much water as there is land. Earth has the gases that plants and animals need to live. The earth has 1 moon. It has no rings around it.
Mars -
Mars is the 4th planet from the Sun. It is called the red planet. It is about 142 million miles from the Sun. Mars is made of rock that has lots of iron in it. The iron in the rock and soil make the planet look red.Astronauts haven't walked on Mars, but space probes have landed there. Viking I was the first probe and it landed in 1976. They were looking for signs of life. Some scientists think they found a kind of life form called microbes in the rock samples. Mars has the biggest volcano in the solar system. It's much higher than the tallest volcano on earth. Mars looks like a red star in the night sky.

| *Cordelia hears Antwone Weasley. She shakes her head and goes back to taking her notes.
The Nine planets of the Solar System: Earth, Venus, Mercury, Mars, Jupitar, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto.
The nine bodies conventionally referred to as planets are often further classified in several ways:
*by position relative to the Sun:
inner planets: Mercury, Venus, Earth and Mars.
outer planets: Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto.
The asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter forms the boundary between the inner solar system and the outer solar system. |

| Professor Ziarre turns to Siriusly in Love, "Well yes I do. The new moon should actually be here sometime this week...Thursday to be exact." He said with a smile as he then walked to inki. "Yes many years ago astronomers believed that, and now they actually do believe the sun as the centre. But the sun is not the centre of the universe...its only the centre of our galaxy. There are many galaxies in this universe that we have yet to discover."
As Professor Zairre finished speaking her heard firebolt7, "Well I'm very impressed. You surely do your homework, 5 points to Hufflepuff." He added with a smile. "i look forward to recieving your homework later."
Turning to Antwone again, "Please stop making unnecessary comments before I start taking away points from your house." He added strictly. Bade then watched as Antwone left, "Fine. 5 points will be detected from Hufflepuff. I think you should watch that one." He said looking at the other hufflepuffs with angry faces. |

| Ceci walks in quietly. She raises her hand. When Professor Ziarre looks at her, she lowers her hand and starts talking.
I'm sorry to disturb you Professor. I know the Muggles thought at one time that the Earth was the center of the Universe, however, I do not know if wizards thought the same thing. If not, how and when did they discover that there are other galaxies??? |

| Professor then turned to ceci and heard what she was saying. "Well, the early wizarding astronomers did think there had to be something bigger then us. It doesn't say exactly when, but we did know and we were the first to discover and make a telescope. Of course ours are much different then any muggle telescope, but we managed to develope one and find many other things beyond our galaxy." He told her as he turned to the class also..

| "Thats right inki, their were tons of ancient peoples discovering the night sky along with us wizards. Also remember that among those ancients their were wizards, and the wizarding ones of those folk were discovering it also. So all of us, muggle and wizard were discovering it together. Even though we at times began to find out more..." Professor Zairre said with a smile. "And no Mystic, we don't know, I don't know. Their are so many to even count." He said turning to her. |

| Professor Ziarre then conjured a chair and sat down as he continued to answer the questions. "Well, in a very different way then any muggle can. Of course we can conjure the different parts and walk around...we haven't exactly been there but we have walked in it somewhat." he said with a mysterious smile. "And Kirstie, well, they like to believe it. Because wouldn't it be great to find another folk with powers like ours or greater in ways?" He told her with a smile. |

Victoria shifted her sitting position on the floor. It was very uncomfortable down here. She listened to everyone asking questions, and as she listened she kept her eyes glued to that picture the Professor had shown them earlier.

| Professor Ziarre nodded as he spoke again, "In many certain aspects we do know more then them. Not only that, we can see much more. Their power is very limited as to ours which is quite powerful." He told Firebolt with a smile. |
