Weasley Swamp https://i.postimg.cc/GpccFmVC/weasley-swamp-banner.jpg The legendary portable swamp created by Fred and George Weasley was once large enough to consume the entire fifth-floor corridor. Needless to say, this greatly irritated the notorious Dolores Umbridge when there were no instructions on how to remove it and the then teachers didn't seem to mind that it was there. Today a small section of the swamp remains, roped off in tribute of the redheaded twins' historic act of protest. |
For Kale! On the whole, Ash was doing a lot better. She was actually doing pretty well most of the time. But right now? Nah. Right now she was sad. And for some reason, the Weasley Swamp always cheered her up... as did some other things. Soooo, Ash got out of bed, dressed up in one of her nicest party dresses, got someone to do her makeup, and grabbed her cat and her art supplies. Then she headed down here, completely ignoring anyone who stared at her as she passed. Luckily, there was no one else at the actual swamp. She could do art in peace. Art? Well... it couldn't really be called that yet. It was more like a toddler angrily scribbling over a page with blue and gray marker. Except for, Ash wasn't a toddler. After a while, she got bored and started drawing a phoenix on top of the random scribbles. Yeah, she was Ashley. She was strong. And amazing. And pretty. She was going to be fine. See, that was the Weasley Swamp's effect. |
Kale loved the Weasley swamp cuz it was a great place to dump stuff. Like rocks. And homework that got poor marks. It was pretty much an all around fab-o dumping ground for all things that students wanted to see sink. Besides, Kale was pretty sure one of these days he was finally gonna be able to get a rock to skip across the bubbling swamp water. So, he brought up his usual bag of rocks he collected off the grounds and set up camp to attempt some skipping. As he dropped his bag, he spotted Ash. They were mirror buddies. So Kale had a particular fondness for the fourth year. In the way that people who endured the same amount of harrowing trauma often chilled with their peers. "Hiya," he beamed. And then started to try his hand at rock skipping. |
SPOILER!!: Kale <3 Ash did not really like to be disturbed when she was here, so this better be... oooooh. It was Kale!!! She liked Kale. They both had rage in their hearts. They both got trapped in a mirror. So... yeah. Kale was chill. She liked to pretend he was her older brother. He was cool too. So much cooler than her. She grinned at him as he started throwing rocks into the swamp. "Hiiii Kale!" She stood up, and moved away slightly so that the splashing wouldn't ruin her dress. "Watcha up to?" Whatever it was, she bet it was COOL. |
SPOILER!!: Ash "Trying to skip rocks," Kale explained, as he chucked another rock at the swampy water. It sunk sadly. "You wanna try?" He'd be super happy to show her how to do it. OR at least the general idea of how it should work. Like. In case Ash wasn't picking up the vibe, Kale was failing at skipping rocks. This water was just not smooth enough to jump. BUT HE WOULD PRESERVER. What was it they said about insanity? Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result. Sure. Yah. That sounded familiar, huh? |
SPOILER!!: Hi Kale Was Kale sad? He didn’t LOOK sad, but... he was failing at rock skipping, and that usually indicated sadness. ”Are you sure you’re using the right type of rock? They’re supposed to be flat.” Otherwise it was just throwing rocks in the water. She tried skipping one of the rocks he had collected. Although her technique was obviously better, she couldn’t manage more than one rock skipping thing. Was it because of the rock or the water or both? “What if we just started throwing rocks in the swamp on purpose?” That might be more satisfying. And easier... Ash looked over at Kale. “Are you okay?” |
The vines feel very at home in the swamp area so it might be harder to spot them, but they are there and getting restless as it grows longer and longer across the ground wrapping itself around the leg of a student (Ash), though it might have thought it was wrapping around a tree. |
Kale snapped his fingers thoughtfully."Flat rocks." Then, he beamed boyish and silly. "Knew I was forgetting something." No wonder they kept sinking to the bottom of the swamp. Flat. Rocks. Ingenious. As he started to search the shoreline of the swamp for flat, smooth rocks, he lifted his head in surprise. Was he okay? Kale blinked twice. "Do I not seem okay?" Cuz as far as he knew, life was pretty good. Better than good. He'd had way worse moments in his life than disappointment he was cruddy at skipping rocks. "I'm totally cool-- OMIGOD ASH WATCH OUT!" Viiiiiiiiiiiines. Vines everywhere. |
SPOILER!!: Kale "um, I don't know. You're throwing spherical rocks in the swamp and expecting them to skip." While not the worst thing Kale could be doing, it was a bit ridiculous and was that just Kale's regular self or was it different? It was hard to tell. But according to Kale, he was fine and Ash believed him so maybe there was nothing to worry about. Nothing to worry about? HA. "KALE IT'S GOT MY LEG!!! AHHHHHH!" Ash To almost anyone else watching, it was probably a hilarious sight. But Ash was not amused!!! Help. |
