| | |  Stone Bridge
 You will find at the end of the corridor on the first floor is a door that will reveal the Stone Bridge when opened. While it may seem like an odd place for a bridge, do note that it provides easy access to the next tower nearby and makes moving around the castle significantly easier. One will need to use this structure to get to Defence Against the Dark Arts, unless, of course, you are departing from there and need to get to the moving staircases.
It is not uncommon for this bridge to be a meeting place for students because of its prime location in between towers. It also provides a nice view of the viaduct and part of the lake down below. During the fall and spring seasons, this small bridge is a pleasant place to pause for a bit of fresh air before heading back indoors to fill your brain with more information. Though it is is a different matter entirely when it is winter, which is why you will be advised to wear your thicker robes and a scarf when trekking across this bridge in spite of the torches that are lit along the way.

WhooOOOAAAAHHHH!
V found herself in a NEW spot...this stone bridge area...and she was soooOOOOOOOOOOO ENAMORED. The view of the lake was gorgeous, and the first year Slytherin found herself staring down at it. What if she fell?
She'd die.
IT WAS SCARY TO THINK ABOUT!!!
So she needed to STOP thinking about that and try to find the owlery again. She had made it once without help, but all the other times had been in the company with an older student who knew where they were going. She had a very long letter to send off!!!

She paused at the end of the bridge, though, as she spotted someone staring over the edge. Hmm. She walked toward the person--a girl--more slowly, trying to be rather noisy as she didn't want to startle the person. A first year, she thought. She glanced out toward the lake, wondering if the first year was looking at anything specific. There didn't...seem to be anything. But...well, Margaret couldn't see that far, honestly. Maybe the kid was watching her own fly off or something.
Or maybe she was trying to figure out how to get down to the lake?

But V didn't remember her name. "Actually, I am. I am LOOKING for the owlery because I have a veeeeeeery important letter to send off." She looked very serious right now because it was a very serious matter.

The owlery? This girl was very lost, then. Margaret wasn't sure about the kid's very important letter, but she had time to visit the owlery. She could give her own owl some treats, if Vendetta was there. She couldn't remember if he'd come back since the last letter she'd sent. Yes, clearly she really needed to visit the owlery too. To check on her poor owl.
"I...don't think you'd fall off, unless you were acting very stupid," she said with a confused frown. Could people really fall off the bridge? Would they really die? She peered over the edge into the ravine below. Ehhh...that was pretty far. Someone could probably die.
"Yes, it's big...do you want me to show you how to get to the owlery from here?" Mamie didn't necessarily think her voice was WONDERFUL. It was better than a banshee or a mandrake, but not as nice as the Frog Choir. Maybe this kid should join the Frog Choir, if she thought her voice was nice. | |

If there was something V was wasn't, it was very stupid. "I don't think I'd do anything that'd make me fall off a bridge. I hope not, anyway. And sure, you can show me. I'm Victoria, by the way. First year SLYTHERIN!" she proudly crossed her arms over her chest with a huge smirk and nodded.
Like BOTH her parents before her, she was a snake.
She adjusted her green tie just for the affect. "But, being a first year, I get lost a whole lot, so help is greatly appreciated, thanks," she said. "Now...which way?" she jotted her thumb to the left and then the right, cocking her head a little.

Margaret couldn't comment on the first year's intelligence, but by jove was she a talker! She grinned at the younger girl's energy, bobbing her head in recognition. Victoria. Like the era. "Nice to meet you, Victoria," she said, stifling a giggle at the smirk. Was she that obnoxious bold when she was a first year? She didn't think so. "I'm Margaret. I'm a third year." And it should be obvious from her uniform that she was a Hufflepuff.
She gestured to her left. "It's this way," she said. "Do you have your own owl?" Because Mamie did. Vendetta the owl was her favourite pet. | |

She had forgotten to tell the girl to call her V, and she only realized it once the name Victoria left her mouth. It was a nice name. And V liked it every so often. But it was so LONG and TEDIOUS otherwise. "You can call me V. Everyone does! My dad and mum used to call me that a lot when I was little, and it just stuck. Victoria is like FOUR WHOLE syllables and that's really long, you know? Unlike the ONE letter and syllable of V." She nodnodnodded.
"Hi Margaret." Another old lady name. But that was okay. It sounded regal in its own right.
She started following the Hufflepuff as she shook her head. "I don't. I have to use the owlery's unless my dad sends his owl. Do YOU have an owl? If so, what's his name? Is he nice? Does he bite? Can you pet owls? My dad's is kept far away from me and my siblings because I think he would peck away at us if we bothered him."

As she led the way to the owlery, she nodded. "Yes, I have a sweet little--well, big--barn owl. His name is Vendetta...I call him V sometimes, too," she said with a proud smile. "He doesn't bite, and he loves being pet! You can pet him when we get there, if you want." | |
