| | Headmaster's Office Well, it's an office.
There's a desk, there's bookshelves, the walls are lined with portraits of past Headmasters and Headmistresses as is the custom. Nothing out of the ordinary here.
On the large, wooden desk sits several pictures of a woman with a bright and enchanting smile. Some pictures had (if you asked the Headmaster) the cutest children ever to be created in the history of man's creation. One picture contains these beautiful people and Trent himself. Not all the pictures are still. The little girl in one picture blows kisses occasionally and the little boy who is clearly the older of the pair occasionally breaks into a grin in his own frame. It was his mother's grin, could you tell? Did you need a closer look? Don't smudge the glass and don't leave fingerprints, that's just inconsiderate. Look with your eyes and not your hands.
This is usually where you'll find the Headmaster, getting through some important paper work or making plans. It's of course, not a guarantee he'll be up here as the man does have a habit of wandering. Sitting still for hours was never his strong suit.
If you wish you speak with him, approach the stone gargoyles and have yourself a nice wait. They're not likely to let you in without the password and only the Headmaster and his staff are privy to that bit of information. Don't break them trying to force your way in anyway. They've been here since long before you were born and won't appreciate that kind of abuse. There's ways of trying to let yourself in that would prove to be less a nuisance--not that you're encouraged to. Whatever you've got to discuss with Headmaster Trent can't be THAT pressing. What's a five minute wait?

| Lovely™ | Captain Hurted | Ariana's Bane | Resident Antagonist | Unparalleled Delight This whole time, Nem had stayed as calm as the Headsman. Their own composure hadn't wavered, even during those brief, seconds-long flashes of fury that flared and died like matches struck in a storm.
Yet once they were done talking, once the words were out, difficult (though not impossible) to take back, they had to take a moment to just sit, gripping the arms of the chair tightly, counting the beats of their pulse in their fingertips, reorienting. Nem didn't know what this feeling was, if it even counted as a feeling at all, but they knew their pulse hadn't quickened, their breathing remained perfectly steady, and they didn't feel remotely unwell. Maybe a little lightheaded. Nothing more.
Wild to think they'd said some of the words out loud, the barest glimpses of truth, but the truth all the same, and to Trent, no less. Trent, who they'd always known had been able to detect something untoward. It had been part of what made him so fun to toy with, knowing he couldn't do anything so long as nothing they did was explicitly actionable, or even anything he could realistically pull them up on. Never entirely letting him in on it. It had been a fun game, a way to fend off boredom, but the past couple of years had ruined it. Little things like that weren't entertaining enough anymore; Nem constantly had to aim higher, look for bigger and better things, just to find anything even remotely close to that childish thrill. "End of the week," they repeated. Heard and understood. A little unexpected, but they knew better to expect anything from the Headsman now, not until they had a better measure of him. Maybe this really was how he was planning to help break up the monotony; by cracking their head open and fishing secrets out from the depths of the chasm. Maybe they'd allow it. Trent wasn't the only one who would have liked to continue, but Nem knew better than to keep talking in this moment.
They got to their feet and headed for the door, content to leave it entirely at that, not another word; Trent had had so many from them already today. Nem already had the door open and was halfway through it when they suddenly changed their mind, and decided to speak up just once more. They turned to look back, but rather than the locked-down, subdued, unreadable Nemesis they had been a moment ago, they were suddenly as pleasant and amiable as when Trent had first arrived at the office, as though most of the conversation in the interim had not taken place. "You know, if you're feeling particularly generous, don't you think that information is worth, I don't know, maybe three more NEWTs? Bring the number up to a decent five?" Nem grinned, exuding the kind of charm that had once garnered them many friends in this place. "You can think on it, and tell me at the end of the week. I'll bring a list of the subjects I want to get out of the way. Also, sorry for wasting your tea." Another smile. They pushed their hair back out of their eyes, turned away, and took their leave for real this time. "Peace."
