| | Game Corner Looking for a bit of fun? Well, you've come to the right place! The game corner is where you'll find shelves full of board and card games, both magical and muggle. There's a wizards chess set and a few decks of exploding snap and some magical playing cards. To the right of the corner is a Foosball table modified to simulate a game of Quidditch. Just use your wand to guide the players where you want them to go!
Along the walls you'll see a Pinball machine as well as a Skee Ball machine and a few video games there for your enjoyment. Just like the Foosball table, they are all controlled by magic. Happy playing, and remember: it's not whether you win or lose, it's how you play the game!

Remy couldn't believe that the game room was empty. She hadn't played anything there yet, because she had been too afraid to go inside. But since it was empty, she took full advantage and explored what was there to play. Dressed in a thick jumper and jeans, hair tied up in a side ponytail, Remy was immediately drawn to the foosball table which had a Quidditch set up.
She REALLY wanted to play with it, but she lacked a partner, as well as the magical knowledge required to engage with the players.
SAD.
What else was there to play?

What else was there to play? The weekend, finally! Meaning, he was finally caught up with his homework, and it was time to let loose and relax and just get his mind off of school work. He'd have plenty of worrying in the days to come, but in the meantime, he was determined to beat his mate's game record and show them how it was done.
Noah did notice the first year staring at the foosball table, as he continued his way towards the console. It was then that he realized that the kid was the same girl that Cambridge told off during the Feast. Not...welcoming at all, wasn't it? Oh, and if he remembered correctly, she was one of Scarlett's friends. "Hey," the Gryffindor offered her a friendly grin and then gave the foosball table a proper look, wondering if she wanted to play. "Is everything alright?" she did look a bit down.

"Hey," the Gryffindor offered her a friendly grin and then gave the foosball table a proper look, wondering if she wanted to play. "Is everything alright?" she did look a bit down. Nope, she wanted to play the foosball table. If it meant she had to work out the magic herself then so be it! Remy was pretty clued up on a few incantations due to her excessive library visits. She automatically took a little step back when an older student approached the table, too. She certainly didn't want to get in the way of any more Gryffindor wrath this term.
Oh, he was speaking to her? She was pleasantly surprised.
" Yeah... uhh, hi." She replied. " Just trying to figure out how to play..." Remy gently wiggled her wand in the air (which was rather careless of her), " ... but I think it might just be for older kids."
Thankfully, HE was an older kid who could show her.

Thankfully, HE was an older kid who could show her. To be honest, Noah was starting to get worried. Students, returning or new, had been jumpy around him. What was going on? Was he intimidating? Did he look like a grump like his dad? The Gryffindor got to the other side of the table and listened to the kid's predicament.
For older kids?
Noah snorted and shook his head. "It's not exclusive, trust me. Anyone can play any game here, regardless of year." the Gryffindor leaned on the edge of the table to give the Firstie a proper look. "You're Remy, right? I'm Noah. Scarlett's older brother." yes, he'd been keeping tabs on Scar's friends just in case his sister gets into any trouble he would know who to approach. He just can't trust his twin, Catherine, to go the extra mile for their younger sister. "So, have you figured out how this thing works?" Noah didn't want to spoil things for her. Besides, Firsties were usually very inquisitive.

Besides, Firsties were usually very inquisitive. Remy beamed at the boy, placing both hands on the table to get into a good position to play, as if she had just received the boy's permission to do so. " Awesome, are you gonna play with me?" He probably had much cooler things to do than hang out with her, but there was no harm in asking.
How did he know her name?! " Yeah, that's me..." Scarlett's brother? Oh, wasn't she that crazy girl from Hufflepuff? " Oh, right, cool... you're not much like your sister." Remy smiled. Scarlett did seem really cool, but was also a little scary.
" Ummm... I don't really know how." The Gryffindor flicked her wand towards the foosball table, not expecting anything to happen, but she knocked down three of the figures. Remy stared blankly at the table and then back at Noah. " Did I just do that?" It was kinda similar to getting a random wand reaction from Ollivanders.

Noah was more than happy to accommodate, honestly. He knew that being in a big school with no friends could be a bit daunting. He was lucky he had his childhood pals, Cece and Morgan, to show him the ropes when he got to Hogwarts. Noah wanted to pay it forward by being extra patient with the youngest members of their house, and make them feel at home. "I don't see why not." Noah returned the smile, as he took out his own wand and searched for the miniature quaffle within the game.
The Gryffindor snorted at the remark. "I'm not anything like Scarlett. She's... well, a handful. But she's fun to be with, if you know what kind of fun she likes." Noah shrugged as he finally fished out the quaffle with his fingers, tossing it in the air, and catching it again.
Noah nodded with a grin in response to Remy. "This foosball table is pre-charmed to move the random players with just the wand, so no need for incantations." The Gryffindor was about to drop the Quaffle to start the game, but stopped. "Erm... do you know how Quidditch works?" he didn't want to assume, and he didn't want Remy to panic and spoil the game for her.

" I mean... you don't have to." Remy really hoped that she wasn't keeping Noah from something important. She couldn't recall seeing him around before, but she wished she had met an older kid who was so friendly sooner.
She laughed a little. " Yeah," Remy was careful not to insult the Hufflepuff, of course. " I hung out with her on the train and I think she was... excited." That was one word for it. GIGGLE.
" Ohhhhh." Remy wanted to hit herself on the head because that made perfect sense. She THOUGHT she'd have to use fancy spells in order to activate and play the table. But all it took was a simple flick of the wand. Simples. " I kinda know about it. You gotta catch the golden snitch, right? And watch out for those bludgers!" She wasn't overly into watching the sport, but she had basic knowledge. " I went to see a game once, when I was real small, but I had NO idea what was going on." Remy shrugged with a soft smile.
" I'm ready." Since it looked like Noah was about to drop one of the balls. It didn't look like a snitch but she'd still try to catch it with her player.

"I'm ready." Since it looked like Noah was about to drop one of the balls. It didn't look like a snitch but she'd still try to catch it with her player. "The thing is, I want to. It's high time I got a break from all the studying, actually." Studying wasn't exactly synonymous with Noah, but there has been a need. Fifth year wasn't exactly a walk in the park academically, and he's currently got a self-imposed pressure to scrape a decent amount of OWL scores just so he can keep his parents at ease. For sure, there'd be no trouble with his twin Catherine-- she was Hermione Granger incarnate.
Noah chuckled and shook his head, almost apologetically, at Remy. "She's really excitable and playful most of the time. If you wanted a bit of adventure around Hogwarts, I'm sure Scar would be able to deliver." she could be a bit hard to understand and keep up with, but Scarlett just wants to be involved in most things. "You must've met her in the train going here. I hope she shared her food with you guys," from what he'd seen, it looked like she bought half of the trolley's contents.
Ooh, now they're talking! "That's right. The Golden Snitch is what you want for your team, as it's worth the most points. It also ends the game." Noah nodded along as Remy spoke, and added a few more details into it, "Yes, the Beaters' bludgers are there to hamper your Chasers from passing this ball towards the goal. This is the quaffle. This one's worth 10 points every time it gets through one of the opponent's hoops. But you've got your own Keeper to block the quaffle, preventing the opposing team from scoring." hopefully the mini-crash course in Quidditch made sense to the little Gryffindor, so she could make sense of the actual game next time.
Remy wasn't totally clueless, so it was safe to say that she'd be able to move the pieces around as it should. "Alright, here we go. 3...2...1," And the quaffle was dropped, keeping his eyes on the quaffle, as the mini-bludgers came to life as well, ready to be whacked by the beaters.

To be honest, it was nice to have made an acquaintance in her own house, one that wasn't creeped out by her. But Noah was related to Scarlett Mordaunt so he had to be used to a bit of crazy. " I thought first year studying was hectic," And the classes were HARD, " but you must be SWAMPED, what year are you in?" She asked.
The young Gryffindor nodded with a smile. " She definitely will be a hoot this year." Despite their... disagreements... Remy was glad that Scarlett was in the same year as her. It would be entertaining, that's for sure. " Merlin, she had so many sweets with her! There was no way she could have eaten that much on her own." She probably would've had some left over from the train ride, Remy made a mental note to steal some sugar quills from her whenever she got the chance.
She was with him as he explained the snitch and the bludgers in more detail... but started to lose her when he mentioned the bigger ball. Quaffle. Remy scratched her head. " That sounds like a lot to remember." She commented. " So... shoot the... quaffle... into the hoops, catch the golden snitch." And something about dodging the DEADLY bludgers. Thank Merlin this was just a minigame.
Before she knew it, Noah had started the game and she readied her wand. aHH, so much to keep an eye on!! Remy flicked her wand towards one of the chasers and the mini player moved to try and catch the quaffle but missed by a mile. " Drats." She had to flick her wand again to dodge a bludger and managed to do that effectively!! If Quidditch was this technical in real life, remind her not the bother.
