A short distance from the tower housing Mr Kazmi's office, you will find the Hogwarts broomshed. From the outside, it looks just like an ordinary shed, but when you step inside, it still looks like an ordinary shed, only bigger. Brooms line the walls in racks and brackets, and there are is ample space for those who want to put the available maintenance kits to good use. Some of these school brooms could certainly do with some attention.
Students may store their own brooms here on the understanding that they are responsible for making sure their broom is secure - Mr Kazmi is willing to assist with this, but he cannot help if he does not know help is required. The broomshed also houses the school brooms, which are available for all students to use, unless you've managed to prove yourself untrustworthy. An honour system is in place for the borrowing of school brooms; Mr Kazmi only asks that each student take one broom at a time, treat it with respect while out flying, return it to its proper place when they're finished with it. If any school brooms go missing, or are found anywhere but the broomshed, an alternative system will be implemented.
The Flying Instructor pokes his head into the broomshed semi-regularly, so whatever you come in here to do, keep it in line with school rules. Broomstick maintenance? Fine. Taking advantage of a quiet place to read? Fine. Locking lips in this most romantic of settings? Definitely not fine. Go directly to detention. Do not pass go. Do not collect two hundred galleons.
For Mr Kazmi's peace of mind, the entire shed has been fireproofed.
for Daisy/Serena and anyone else... flying professor, perhaps? ;)

Apollo still couldn't believe that they had actually pulled it off.... Sure it was only September, but so far so good. Now all that was left was for him to secure the broomsticks and to make sure that Serena knew where the broom was and how to access it. Although he couldn't deny he was slightly envious that she was able to have a broom in her first year, but his first year was .... well, complicated and he didn't exactly want to relive that. Moving on to brighter things, like flying and quidditch.
So how exactly did one make sure no one would use his broom? Apollo was sitting cross-legged on the floor, with a charms book in his lap, perusing its contents. Alohomora was an unlocking spell, but was there a spell that created a magical lock?? Was it too advance for a second year? He frowned, perhaps wondering if he should have visited Professor Kazmi's office before meeting with Serena to confirm security charms. But maybe, just maybe, the professor would pop in here? Particularly if he saw a small pre-teen headed to the broomshed?

Honestly, Serena didn't think she'd be able to pull it off. She got herself a smuggler. A broomstick smuggler. It was something out of those muggle movies.
It took a bit to find the broomshed. She still wasn't all that used to the inside of the castle or its grounds, but she made it, and here she was.
Apollo better have her broom.
Entering the broomshed, her baby blue eyes took in her new surroundings and had to control her excitement. "What are you doing down there?" she asked when she spotted her broomstick smuggler.
Kamran was not in the business of disbelieving his own senses, so when he spotted a young student from his office window, hauling two brooms presumably to the broomshed, he had to wonder. Also find out more. It wasn't that he distrusted the students already, it was more that he knew kids did not always like to let little things like 'rules' dictate their lives, and so it was a good idea to expect such a thing.
So maybe he did distrust them a little, but mostly in that he expected them to take arguably innocent liberties from time to time, and knew he had to be on his game.
Shuffling around his routine a bit, Kamran headed for the broomshed after stopping by the Training Area, and now pushed the door ajar and stuck his head around it. There was the young man in question, there were the two brooms, and now a first year too. Kamran looked from Adara-Stark to Baltazar-Dos Santos (both with the double-barrelled names; very convenient for quickly committing them to memory) and back again.
"Anyone up to no good in here?" No, but really.

It wasn't too long before the broomshed opened again to find the rather demanding redhead. Apollo was about to get up to greet her when she asked a question. He held up the charms book. "There's security charms. Need to make sure they're secure." He shrugged. They'd gone through all this trouble to get the brooms here, so it would be a shame to have them snatched by a thief so easily.
Before he could stand up to ask Serena if she wanted to take it for a ride, another head appeared in the doorway, and Apollo arched a brow over at his young friend. Had she told someone? He didn't think she was the tupe and yet another look back at the face, Apollo realized a split second later it was the new flying professor. Kaz... Kam... something or other.
"Mischief managed," He answered quickly. The Gryffindor might not have had a marauder's map, but he had done his research on the legacies of his former house. Cue innocent look. "Hey Professor. Just trying to make sure my new broom is secure. No brooms allowed in the dorms, right?"

The excitement of having her very own broomstick at Hogwarts had overtaken her headspace, Serena had completely forgotten about security charms. Okay, she'd give Apollo a point for thinking ahead. "Clever," she muttered. Taking a few steps forward and about to ask how the security charms were done, Serena heard an all too familiar question. Not in the same voice, though, which caused her to turn around. Her mum would ask that all too frequently whenever Serena was up to no good, practicing potions on her little brother.
Uuuhhhhh. Yes. They were up to no good, but Serena's face said no. Stone cold, somber little redhead.
"Apollo was going to show me his broomstick." Not a lie. Technically.
Kamran was sure Adara-Stark hadn't meant to imply he had literally managed some mischief some time recently with that little reference, and so probably would have thought nothing of it had he not decided to check in at the broomshed for a specific reason. He still thought nothing of it. Technically.
"Good idea." Smart, but also expected of the students. Kamran was always very clear that these kids needed to take responsibility for the brooms themselves. Big on responsibility, Kamran. He looked between the Gryffindor and the Slytherin, total innocence to something more like a complete mask, and nodded in apparent understanding. "Gotcha. Are you going to have a go at flying it, too? I know these school brooms don't always feel like they match up."
Just a casual statement, followed up with an equally casual question, this time to Adara-Stark. "What about the other broom you brought down here? Who does that belong to?"

If Apollo had been a few years older, or even Serena had been, he might have thought more about her comment of showing her his broomstick. But alas, as an innocent twelve year old, she was probably quite literally just talking about a broomstick. He nodded in earnest at her comment as he glanced over to see if Kamran would accept that explanation. Which, it seemed like he was buying it. "Of course. A broomstick isn't meant to be just locked up, sir. It's meant to be flown." Duh. Why would he have gone through all the trouble of bringing his own broom if he wasn't going to fly it. "Did you want to ... watch?"
Other broom? Right? "Uh ... two brooms, right. Yes, see, the rules stated second years and up, were allowed their own brooms, but it didn't technically limit each student to only having one broom. So uh, it's mine. But for a friend to use, cause flying is more fun when flying with a friend." Technically the truth? Except it wasn't really his, but if he said it was his, even just for the year, it would be more believable then saying he smuggled in a broom for a first year. He just hoped that Kamran wasn't a legilmens.
