| | |  The Study Table
 On the other side of the common room, away from the game corner for obvious reason, you can find the study tables. It's all fun and game in Gryffindor until someone gets a T on the next pop quiz.
Looking for a place to unwind? Library overcrowded with Ravenclaws? Come plop down in one of several comfy chairs at this sturdy, oak table. The immediate area has been charmed making it more quiet than the rest of the common room and by the table sits a bookshelf of moderate size. Nothing too grand but enough to possibly save you a trip downstairs to get your homework done.
If you've got no intention of studying, please don't disrupt those that do. Remember, just because you don't want to pass your OWLs, doesn't mean the next guy doesn't either.

Kinsay spread all of her notes out on the table and propped herself up on her knees (sitting in a chair properly? couldn't be her). She sighed quietly as she hovered over the various textbooks, trying to decide which subject to start with first. You see, she wasn't really in the mood to study even though she usually enjoyed doing so. But, um, with all the things that had been going on... she had fallen a little behind in her work, so there wasn't really much of a choice.
Except all the things going on were still going on and Kinsay was struggling to focus now too.
So instead of picking a subject to start with, Kinsay decided to put her head down on the table instead. Maybe if she was lucky she could take a nap and when she'd wake up, this nightmare of a year would be over. So the second year closed her eyes, willing herself to fall asleep.
Was it working?
(No.)

But Atlas said he had to - or he would fail and Atlas would become his senior in no time.
SULKING at this dilemma in life, the blonde dragged his feet to the study tables - and flopped down on the first empty seat he saw - very much unaware of his surroundings and his girlfriend sitting near by and trying to sleep.
IF he knew her situation, he'd offer his shoulder but to him - it just looked like someone was hogging the space for no reason. So, when his books needed MORE of the table and she got in the way, Aries picked up his quill and used the feather at the back to TICKLE the girl's ear.

OMG, it was his girlfriend!
Aries Flamsteed's ears turned positively red and he smiled SO FONDLY at her, it was ridiculous - he was sure he had never looked at anything like that ever (a delusion - candies on halloween, presents on Christmas, and stars on the muggle telescope had received this look too).
"Aires," he confirmed, before tilting his head a little in curiosity, "why are you sleeping here? Is your bed not comfortable?"

Not that it was at all embarrassing because if anyone asked, they did it because it meant having best friend sleepovers every night. But still.
She looked at Aries empathetically. "I hope Headmaster Rosier stays away from our common room." The Hoods(TM) were included in that too, mostly because Kinsay figured they took their direct orders from the Headmaster anyway. "Um. Speaking of which..." She got a little quiet and looked down at the table for a moment before looking back up. She could FEEL her cheeks getting warm. "Thanks for standing up for me in class." It meant so much, did he know? "I'm sorry I got you in trouble." Could he see the sincerity in her eyes?
She was also very grateful that he didn't want to study either. It would've made her feel guilty if he decided to study, while she decided to give up. Bad decisions were only justifiable if you didn't make them alone. That was Kinsay's motto, anyway. "Hmm," she tapped her chin in thought. "Play games?" She didn't know WHICH game, but a game sounded nice and distracting.
