Hidden in the higher mountains of Wales, Unplottable and rumoured to be located somewhere within Snowdonia, lies the Welsh Dragon Reserve. Established centuries ago, this reserve is home to the native Common Welsh Green; however, over the years other other breeds of dragons (such as the Hebridean Black, Peruvian Vipertooth, Norwegian Ridgeback, Swedish Short-Snout, Romanian Longhorn, and Chinese Fireball) have been added to the reserve for training and research purposes as well as the safe-keeping of these dangerous beasts.
Dragons roam freely within a valley, which has magically drawn perimeters, containing a wooded forest, grassy plains, and numerous streams. There is a well-worn path that dragonologists use to make their way around the reserve, which begins and ends at the base of a snowcapped mountain. Some of the smarter dragons like to linger around this area as the feral goats trekking on the lower ranges make for an easy meal.
A large and deep cave can be found up alongside the mountain, which is where many dragons like to brumate during the winter months. The cave also doubles up as the training and research facility used by the dragonologists that work at the reserve. University students who aspire to work with dragons are encouraged to visit the reserve, where they can observe under the supervision of an employed dragonologist.
The students arriving from Hogwarts via portkey landed near the dragonologist base of operations, right off the well-worn path. Their arrival was not announced nor expected, per the strict NO COMMUNICATION rules that were currently in place at the School. Some students may even have had parents, friends, relatives, or acquaintances already working at the reserve or visiting by coincidence on this day. Some students, on arrival, may have viewed this day as an opportunity to cause chaos for the rest of the world (after all, dragons are... very large, and do deserve to be free). Others may have seized the opportunity of this trip outside of the school boundaries as a chance to take back the freedom the Neo-Alliance has been limiting all school year.
Well well well, and welcome, Hogwarts Students. Welcome to your new playground?
OOC NOTE from 6:30 PM EST on 21 FEB. 2021: This thread will be closing to students in the next 24 hours, so please grab a portkey and get back to the School.
Oh, how we drift away from our friends. And the ones back home play remember when

As much as she was concerned about the whole NOT getting barbecued thing, the dragons were flying AWAY! Like AWAY-AWAY! This was soooo bad. So bad. The worst. Much danger. Help!
And then Professor Williamson’s voice came through the chaos demanding they grab a portkey and luckily for those in her group, it seemed the dragon had lost interest in them and was focusing on a older, more authoritative meal. With wide eyes, the blonde looked around and then shouted, ”We have to go! Come on! This way!” She grabbed the arm of the nearest group member and made for the portkeys in a mad dash, ignoring the adults who’d been helping them and just hoping they’d be okay with the mess that they were leaving behind.
Oh gosh.
The fifth year scrambled, putting her hand to the first portkey she came upon and wishing this field trip had gone very, very differently.
Fiona heard Professor Williamson's booming voice amongst the chaotic din of everything that was going on. She then felt her arm being grabbed and looked at who had indeed grabbed it. It turned out to be Cece. As they reached the portkey, Fiona placed her hand on it and was quickly transported back to Hogwarts.

Stop looking down, Dahlia, she mentally scolded herself several times. The view from up so high was gorgeous, if all of the current chaos was ignored. Now wasn't the time nor the place to be focusing on that though, her focus needed to be on NOT dying. And so far she was managing that.
Until she wasn't.
The grip of those giant talons was gone. Lia tried desperately to hang onto the one talon she had been able to somewhat grasp onto easlier. No, no no! She had to hold on! What spell had hit the Fireball that had been carrying her... didn't do her any good! The pained screeching and the sudden movement from the mama dragon made the small girl loose her grip. Her fingers were slipping and though she kept trying to hang on, hang on to anything her attempts were futile.
Dahlia was falling. Fast.
That's when the true screams of fear began. Each yell getting louder and more fearful the closer she came to the ground. So many thoughts flitted through her mind, one being to try to get her wand and cast something on herself to help with the fall...but she knew the chances of successfully casting anything on herself right now were very very small.
The last thing she remembered before hitting the ground was slowing down (Thank you Ivy and your charm casting!), not a whole light but enough the impact with the ground wasn't so harsh. There on the ground was where she remained, unmoving. She was out like a light.

They had to because even if the group somehow escaped, everyone back at school would be punished, they just would. Hopefully the adults here got the message out though. He hoped Fin would tell his mum and dad that he was okay.
"Grab a portkey, Ingrid!" Flynn yelled as they approached the professor and his pile of.... well they weren't licensed portkeys were they? But who cared, Flynn had no choice but to trust it, and he did trust Williamson, and professors ought to have emergency portkey licenses anyways, right? Flynn didn't realise it, but he had tears rolling down his cheeks still. The emotion of seeing his not-quite stepdad and getting a hug, no matter how brief it was, and then Kinsay so small and unconscious, was a lot. Anyway, he had his hands full, Ingrid would have to pick up a portkey to get the three of them through, he'd just hang onto her hand and make sure not to let go of Kins.
With all the rushing madness, it took a minute for Apollo's eyes to adjust but when he heard a voice bellowing out to Ingrid he squinted over to see. Ingrid was one of the girls who'd been in his group before he got separated.
Eh. May as well.
Thankful for his small frame, he leaped over from the shrubs that had been his safety net from the dragons and voices and other chaos. "Waiitttt!" the tiny voice called, as he was sprinting over to the group he caught sight of Dahlia whom he met in the courtyard with Quinn. He reached over to tug at her hand and gripped it tightly.
Holding Dahlias hand in one hand, the first year slower than normal now as he dragged her the short distance after the group and in the knick of time managed to grasp at the Hufflepuff boys ankle with his other hand. Hopefully his shoes were firm on his feet cause there was definitely a risk here that he could have pulled his shoe off with the portkey force.

Reason: Adding in Dahlia to take her with us too :)
The inquisitorial Squad watched as several dragons escaped, destroying everything in their path. Only a few students had been brave enough to draw the dragons out as ordered. How disappointing! This was not the grand scale of chaos they had hoped for. Incompetent children.
Before they could give another order, the professor took charge. Who did he think he was bossing them around like that? Perhaps he needed something stronger than a stunning spell to teach him a lesson. Yes, Professor, they would be reporting to the "Bossman", but not in the way you'd want. As for grabbing the "leftovers"...
The hooded figures took off in the direction they last saw the disillusioned child (Felixir), casting Revelio until they found the unconscious figure. They grabbed the student and the nearest Portkey, and they were off.

Everything had turned to chaos so fast that Devin hadn’t even noticed that he had become separated from his remaining group mates. Why had no one responded to his red sparks? Where were all the adults? Actually, where was anyone? Especially after what he had just witnessed with Lia he was well aware of the dangers of wandering a dragon reserve alone. At least he still had his wand which in this situation would be his greatest asset. There were limitations to the usefulness of his wand, however, as he had only one and a half years of magical training under his belt so his arsenal of mastered spells was quite small and his spells were relatively weak. On the plus side, he wasn’t currently being tortured by The Hoods or eaten by a dragon and there was still a chance he could find Dad and go home. Sure, he would be going home with just the robes on his back but it would be better than going back to Rosier’s reign of terror. Besides, there were very few things he would be losing that couldn’t be sorted by Mum or with a quick shopping trip. The things that couldn’t be replaced were Babs and his friends. Not that he actually had his owl with him anyway. So just the friends really, but it would be worth giving up the chance to be with his friends if it meant he could be with his family. ”Hello? Dad? Anyone?” He had gotten turned around enough that he wasn’t even entirely sure how to get back to the headquarters of the reserve. After his previous red sparks distress signal had gone unnoticed, he wasn’t feeling particularly optimistic about trying it again. So, the only logical thing to do right now was sit here and wait until someone found him. If he was lucky that someone would be Dad or another reserve worker who could take him to Dad. If he was unlucky it would be one of The Hoods and he would probably be dragged back to Hogwarts and maybe punished for not doing anything to upset the dragons. If he was extremely unlucky, it would be one of the dragons looking for a meal and no one would ever know what happened to him. Even the second option was probably preferable to the third. Only marginally though because there was still a good chance that Rosier and The Hoods would kill them all anyway. He was just going to wait here in case his last known location would be where people started searching for him.

A moment later, Violet was by her side and asking her questions. Louise's green eyes looked around at all the running students and adults and hoods and flying spells and everything was so hard to understand. She felt like she'd been hit by a stunning spell. "What's happening?" Louise asked, before answering Violet's questions. "I hurt my ankle," Louise said - had she already said that? "I think it's sprained or something." The redhead tried to get on her feet, but the pressure sent searing pain through her ankle.
"Where's Williamson?" Louise asked suddenly, becoming more alert. The last she had seen was him getting stunned by the dragon lady. That was the whole reason she had come barreling down the hill and gotten scooped up the dragon anyway.

Heath was vaguely aware of Violet calling to him and Louise, but he was too preoccupied keeping up the shield to answer. Her idea was a good one, as long as Louise could move. He breathed a sigh of relief upon hearing Louise say she wasn't hurt, but that relief soon turned to worry. She probably wouldn't make it to that building with a sprained ankle!
Still keeping up the shield, he offered Louise his other arm to lean on if she needed it. They needed a new plan, but before he could think of anything, an unexpected voice distracted him.. a voice he recognized as Professor Williamson's. When had he been revived? Never mind, he had more important things to worry about, like getting a Portkey home!
It was only then that he remembered Louise's question. "He's just over there. See?" he said, jerking his head toward the professor. "He says we need to get to a portkey now. Here, lean on me. I'll help you." He glanced back at Violet and any other groupmates nearby. "Come on!"
As he made his way to a portkey, he saw a younger student (Devin) just sitting around. "Hey, kid!" he called, gesturing to the other boy.* Sorry! He couldn't remember the Gryffindor's name, and time was a factor. "Williamson says get to a portkey. Come with us!"
Only when Heath was sure everybody he came with was keeping up did he grab hold of the portkey and disappear.

Safety at last! Thanks to the new boy with the brown hair (Flynn), she had finally made it out of the firing line of the dragons the alliance. Still clinging on to the boy’s hand, she turned to face him, her rosy red cheeks puffing as she attempted some kind of smile but before she knew it, he was off again! Why? was he leaving her, just like the other one, the older one Nem who was supposed to be in their group?
Doing her best to nod, she ran after him, mentally making a promise to herself to run more if when she left Hogwarts. Panic stricken, legs heavy, she ran, back out into the sun light and into danger still attached to the boy, because there was no way she was leaving Kinsay, towards Professor Williamson who it seemed was handing out portkeys!
Ohhhhh…he wasn’t leaving them! Well, we was leaving but with them using a portkey! Brilliant!
One hand full of the boys robes, the other reaching out for a portkey, Ingrid braced for the inevitable impact that was about to send her flailing into nothingness.

Yep.
There were definitely more adults appearing. Claudine wouldn’t not have thought much about this but then there were so many things happening at once. Williamson was being Stunned by that woman then The Hoods were attacking whomever got in their way. The girl was horrified and she quickly replaced her book and quill with her wand. But the Dragon Heartstring wand wasn’t exactly there to cause chaos as the Hoods instructed. Why would she want to destroy the dragons’ home?
Never mind that. The sleeping dragon had awoken and was heading their way! “G-guys!’’ Claudine raised a shaky hand to the dragon zooming for them. He looked mad. “The Conjunctivitis Curse?’’ she suggested widely in reply to Cecelia. That wouldn’t exactly hurt the dragon much but it might cause the said dragon to go on a rampage.
Without really thinking, Claudine reached out to grab Lilith’s hand. “Let’s go. Move, move.’’ As much as she was knowledgeable about creatures on a whole, Claudine knew that inexperienced witches and wizards stood a little chance against dragons. Oh great. Gemma happened. “Gemma! Don’t let them out! Come with us!’’ And who was this man {Kittredge}? “Listen, Mister.’’ Claudine glared up at the man. “Now’s not the time nor place for an explanation. Just do your job. We would like to make it out of here in one piece, please and thanks.” And without further ado, she began to follow his indication of the reserve building. Or so she thought she would do for Williamson had made a key announcement.
Claudine didn’t need telling twice. Following Cecelia, she hurried to grab the nearest portkey, her eyes darting this way and that in an attempt to locate Heath. All she could do was hope that he wasn’t being a hero and chose to save his own skin.

Oh thank Merlin that had worked.
Ivy would've raced over to check on Dahlia, but another boy had already gone over and gotten her to a portkey, so...so it looked like that was what she needed to do too. Others were already racing over and grabbing them and helping anyone else who needed it, so it was time for her to head back too.
She grabbed onto a branch in the pile of portkeys, felt that nauseating tug in her stomach, and she was off.

"What's happening?" Louise asked, before answering Violet's questions. "I hurt my ankle," Louise said - had she already said that? "I think it's sprained or something." The redhead tried to get on her feet, but the pressure sent searing pain through her ankle.

Just then Violet heard Professor Williamson calling her name, along with others. She saw groups of students starting to portkey away and began to panic. "Louise, can you walk? If we help you? Heath, Valencia, can you help me with her? Everyone is starting to portkey out of here, we need to leave, now! We don't want to be left behind here." No, they certainly didn't want that.
So Violet got ready to make the trip back down hill to the portkeys. She didn't really want to return to Hogwarts, but right now, that seemed like the safer option.

Valencia casually stomped out a little fire that was next to her. For safety reasons. (And because physically stomping felt much better than using magic in the moment. It gave her space to vent.)
Then they were being called back to school. Which... was a shame. She was an adult. Couldn't she stay? And apparate for help? She thought for a moment before she was being called to help with the girl that was dropped by the dragon.
She tugged the girl up and nearly dragged everyone nearby toward a portkey. Cursed was her responsible mind telling her she really needed to get these kids back.

A lot was happening around her. Her mind was on high alert, every sound her ears captured was divided into possible life and death outcomes. That is why she was expecting some sort of retaliation when she fired the stunning spell. Nerves and the will to stay alive drove Lilith forward. So much she tripped on something as the dragon threatened to burn them alive. In normal circumstances, Lilith would be on the border between fleeing in fright or barring her teeth to fight. As it was, she was grateful of the dragon because she fell on her butt, the spell the hooded person had shot at her, just missing her by an inch.
Lilith didn't waste any more time. She got up, he wand drawn. That is when Claudine grabbed her hand.
Portkey?!
You don't have to say that twice. Lilith was on her house mate's trail and grabbed on to the portkey. She was still irrate, but at least she was going somewhere dragons didn't follow. At least she hoped.
Following Heath and Louise and getting outta here!
WithHeath helping the limping Louise, they had all finally made it down the hill to where Williamson was with the portkeys. Without waiting for anything else to go wrong, Violet grabbed onto the nearest one, not bothering to look at what it was, and in a few minutes felt the slightly unsettling sensation of a portkey activating and transporting her away.
A hooded figure drew their wand, aiming a stunning spell at the old woman (Georgia).

She didn’t know how tame these dragons were but hopefully they’d come back for a promise of a nice steak.
One didn’t work around dragons for as many years as Georgia had without developing a sixth sense. She sensed the stunning spell just in time to toss up a secondary shield, but since her focus had been on maintaining the one around them, enough of the stunning spell got through to zap her of some strength and a little mental clarity.
She shook her head as the Ministry Lady (Nordic Witch) started talking to her about rounding up her team. ”Enough to gather up the dragons if the intruders leave.” She was pretty certain that half of the chaos was because the strangers on the reserve didn’t know how to act around the dragons. They all probably smelled funny and looked tasty and were disrupting the natural habitat of her precious charges.

Speaking of her precious charges….”NOOOooooooo!” she wailed upon seeing that a few dragons too far off in the distance to coax back. It seemed that some of the wards around the Reserve must have gone down. There was nothing she could about that now. They would have to take check records of which dragons got out. There was, she thought optimistically, the chance that the dragons might come back. After all they knew there was food here. But she wasn’t going to hold her breath on that. No right now she had to focus on the ones still here. And one looked injured and injured dragons were very volatile.
She was about to yell about getting out of the reserve when the man who (just to remind you) had asked to be stunned, work up and started making portkeys. Good. Get! Be gone trespassers!
Indeed, too bad he (BanaBatGirl) hadn’t brought a list of names along because Georgia would have made sure to turn such a treasure trove of information over to the Ministry Lady for prosecution. As people started disappearing around the reserve, Georgia started to take control of the situation. ”Don’t go near the hurt one…we’ll take care of it!” she yelled. Peter was particularly close with the twins. As soon as everyone was gone, she’d send for him.
She turned to the Ministry lady . ”I think, a few got away. We won’t know until we can do a full inventory of the grounds – dragons and eggs.” It had been breading season after all. ”I will send you a report as soon as we can put one together.” Now leave!
