 A maze of thousands upon thousands of books, the library is heaven to any book-lover. Upon entering the high-ceilinged room, the smell of books, both ancient and new, hits you. There are many tall, narrow shelves neatly lined up, each divided into different sections -- charms, potions, Muggles, fiction, and so on. If you find a book you're interested in, simply make use of the sliding ladder or summon the book with Accio to retrieve it.
But the library just isn't a labyrinth of books. In the heart of the library and on the outskirts of it are tables and seating areas designated for quiet research and reading, some with accompanying fireplaces or large stained glass windows. Tucked away in the very back of the library is the Restricted Section, which requires a key that the librarian keeps on his person at all times and permission to enter because of the more mature titles and content that are tightly locked and chained within. At the entrance stands the front desk where the school librarian can usually be found, who will happily recommend a book, check out a book for you, and help you with any of your library needs.

Listening to Lia speak, she leaned against the bookshelf pushing a piece of her hair out of her face. She smiled back warmly to her listening to her. "That's awesome that your family has attended Hogwarts. Pretty much the same for my family...except my dad. I think he went somewhere else, but still...pretty much the entire family has been to Hogwarts. My younger brother Wes is here too. He's a fourth year Slytherin. While the idea itself sounded super exciting, she wasn't entirely sure if she was band material. Singing wasn't very high up on the list of things she was good idea. And when it came to playing an instrument... well she was much better at it than Lily and Elias but it was a learning process. The drums were very therapeutic however and she was pretty good at them. "Yeah, it's nice not being alone." If anything at all, she was incredibly close with them. "My dad's entire side of the family were Slytherin's up until my aunt came here. She was sorted into Gryffindor and my mum's family is mainly Ravenclaw's." Being from a very large family though it was bound to eventually happen that somewhere along the line, someone would be sorted into a different house. "But.. you're a Slytherin too?" The robes clearly gave that away. "So why don't you see him much?" Would've thought it was much easier to see people if they're in the same house as you.

With everything going on in school, I haven't been able to see him as much because of being seperated and having to keep our mouths shut so we don't get into any trouble because of our mixed blood heritage, but...this year has definitely changed me a lot. I've become more...open to speaking to different people and not letting my temper get the better of me. With my brother, we still have a ways to go with getting along with one another, but I guess it just comes with the territory."

Listening to Aibhi talk about her relationship with her brother made Lia think about herself and her family. "Oh... that sounds.. really not fun." She was going to say 'sad' but she didn't want to upset the older girl any further than she already appeared to be. "I really hope things can be worked out between the two of you. Family is very special." She smiled softly. Her siblings were everything to her, even the much much older ones that were long moved out and had children of their own.

As much as she seemed like she didn't get along with her brother, she actually appreciated him more than he could ever imagine. Whenever dad would go away on his work trips and she wasn't quite getting along with her mother, Aibhi did find comfort in talking and hanging out with her brother. The young Ravenclaw tilted her head slightly, peering up at the older girl. "Okay, so you give him a hard time... but... isn't that what most siblings do to one another? I love my brothers and sisters but we drive one another crazy. We can't be expected to get along one hundred percent of the time, can we?" No. The answer was no. Just because they bugged one another from time to time didn't mean they didn't care and wouldn't be there when they were needed. No matter what happened, no matter how angry or upset she was at any of her siblings she would drop everything in a heartbeat to be there for them, no questions asked.

She took a moment before clearing her throat and shifted her weight in her stance. "I...I'm not that great of a person...at home. Especially to my mother and brother. It kinda makes sense why I'm never really around anyone in school as well. I- I just feel like all I do is start trouble or trouble just seems to follow me wherever I go because of my family's past and unfortunately I got stuck with my mom's side." She sighs softly and shrugs. "But I've learned that being that way doesn't solve anything and just pushes people away. Making you feel...alone."
She looked at the books beside her and then back down to Lia, "But you're young and this is stuff you don't need to worry about. You just need to worry about having a great time at school and making many many memories and friends here. And learning a lot of things magic wise."

As Aibhi spoke, Lia listened. She had been told a few times through the years that she was a good listener. "It doesn't have to be that way. People change. You can change. If you want to." It sounded like that's what the older Slytherin was trying to tell her, that she wasn't pleased with her own behavior. "We don't have to let our past define who we become in the future, that's your own path to pave." Lia smiled up at her. "And you don't have to walk it alone if you don't want to." Life's path could be a long rough one but it didn't have to be taken all alone. "Maybe not," she shrugged a shoulder, "But there's always something to worry about." Even if it was just homework. Little did she know then that there was going to be a whole lot to worry about as the year progressed on.
