| | |  Lesson Two: Why am I itchy?
The room is dimly lit as you come into the Divination Tower, the feel is very much like it has been since that first lesson. The light music and happy smells are no longer there and just a enough candle light is around the room. As you enter you don't see anything special anywhere that could clue you into what the lesson might be about. Instead you see desks and Professor Kitridge standing at the front of the room.
The board behind her has one question, why do we feel itchy?

She needed to know these things so she knew how to react. Cassie smiled at the questions, "The balloons should only break on contact with a person. I've done enough in the room that the balloons will not break if it hits the floor. Of course you can throw at the other person. There is no out in this game, it is just having some fun and being able to maybe take out some frustrations in a fun way."
She hoped that helped and she really did hope that the students could have a little fun with this. Merlin knew they needed fun this term even if it was just a little bit of fun before going back to the reality of this place.

Violet was bored and frustrated--why did she keep asking them why people itched? It was a physical thing, wasn't it? There were all sorts of reasons it could be--allergies, dry skin, bug bites, or something serious, like cancer. It didn't have anything to do with the universe. Still, she grabbed a parchment piece and wrote down her answer to the last time she'd itched--it had been this morning, all over her head--and Violet already knew why, it was because she was unable to keep her head clean properly down in that dank room! The Snakette followed the instruction of moving to the front of the room and was not surprised when the place was suddenly cleared of furniture. Indeed it was quite unusual for them to be playing a game in Divination so it is needless to say that Claudine was interested.
So… they places that they itched would be used for another activity? Okay then. Claudine stashed three balloons in her left hand, but kept one in her right hand for throwing. What she needed next was a target. Dark gaze zoned in on Dahlia immediately after the thought. Perfect.
Taking aim for the girl’s shoulder, Claudine pulled her arm back then threw the balloon. | |

Usually, Kinsay James was a big proponent of playing games. She especially liked to play them during class because it made class time go by quickly and they were usually less boring than having to sit down and take notes (something she loathed). Except, she didn't really feel like playing games today. No offense to Professor Kitridge, but games didn't really feel the same anymore. Not when everything was so horrible.
So with some hesitance, she stood up, leaving two of her balloons at her desk and carrying the other two in hand. Seeing Claudine distracted by her current target, Kiz took it as her opportunity to aim one of her balloons at the older girl. Hopefully it wouldn't be a bug one. That'd be upsetting. The only person she really wanted to hit with a bug filled balloon was Headmaster Rosier and his Hooded Squad (TM), for obvious reasons.

Only break when in contact with another person. Free to toss balloons at whoever. Good way to release some frustration. Check, check and check. It all sounded good so far. With all of her questions now answered, it was time to get her head in the game. Time to focus. To have a little bit of fun. Something they were all being robbed of this term.
Dahlia bounced on her toes a little bit. Blue eyes quickly looking around for her first target. Not wanting to dwell on decisions to long, she choose the first person her gaze fell upon. Which just so happened to be a fellow Ravenclaw. Sorry, not sorry, Kaira.
She raised her arm and threw one of her balloons at the first year, hoping at the same time that it wasn't filled with itching powder. Just as she did this a balloon that seemed to come from nowhere hit her on the wrist, bursting opening, feathers raining down on her. The surprise or it and the sound of it initially startled her but within seconds she was laughing even as she mindlessly scratched at her wrist.

Wanting to have a little fun she decided to throw the balloon (filled with itchy powder) at the group of students.
**OOC Activity time! Just as Cassie said each student has four balloons to throw. You can decide what they are filled with based on the three things she said. I will give three days for this activity! Have fun! A game? Did she hear that correct? Oh, this is gonna be fun AND distracting!! Perfect. Listening to Kitridge's directions, Aibhi looked at the four balloons she had with her. Feathers...BUGS....ITCHING POWDER?!?!? Anything but itching powder! Getting herself ready, she wanted to think about just which balloon she was going throw and to WHOM. Honestly, if her brother was here she would aim right at him just to mess with him, but alas Wesley was not. Glancing over, she did spot little Lia, looking like she was ready to throw her balloon at someone as well. As she was ready to throw her balloon, she saw out of the corner of her eye Kitridge tossing a balloon at the class. ...uh oh... and she jumps back a bit still holding her balloons in her hands. That infamous "Draven smirk" crept up upon her lips as she was now ready for some fun...
"Lia!" She shouted before tossing her balloon over at her aiming for her leg, but juuuuuuuuuust missed the leg and got her ankle instead and she chuckled softly as the balloon hit Lia's ankle. "Sorry! I meant to hit your leg! Not your ankle. My aim is terrible.

And off her balloon went, zooming for Dahlia. Claudine watched, with a sense of triumph, as it collided with the girl. It only occurred to her then that perhaps the shoulder was not a good place to aim for given the fact that it was covered with the School uniform. Maybe the contents of the balloon would scatter to a place that wasn’t covered. She could hope.
That hope paid off and Claudine saw the balloon burst with feathers tumbling down to the girl’s wrist. Excellent. And suddenly, with a SMACK!ing sound, a balloon hit her, catching the Snakette off guard. Smart move, Kinsay, catching her off guard like that! The balloon burst near her right elbow and itching powder stuck to her skin. Immediately her skin started to scratch and her left hand had to be used to sooth the itch. But man. It took a while for that to happen! That powder lived up to its name.
But once it was finally satiated, Claudine chose another balloon and target: Violet. She aimed for the younger Slytherin and threw. | |

The balloon startled her as it showered her with feathers. Kaira laughed as she remembered countless Bollywood movies she watched with her sister and gave this other girl a mischievous wink, as she threw one of her balloons at her, hoping it is not itching powder! Quote:

Apollo had just sat quietly through the next question because honestly he didn't know how he felt about this except that perhaps having less people in the common room was good for his studies since there was little in the ways of distractions but he also was feeling slightly overwhelmed too. And.... so many emotions, the first year barely noticed the thumbs up from his bestie, but they were moving on it seemed to the core topic of today's lessons.
Hygiene or lack thereof was a reason someone could feel itchy and now he felt itchy being reminded of his mum telling him to make sure he washes up real good. His mum. was she okay? Focus, Apollo. Barely had she recovered from her brief itchy, giggling fit, two balloons were being tossed in her direction. Lia managed to jump out of the way of the one that Kaira had sent at her but that left her open to get hit in the ankle with a feather filled balloon from Aibhi. She gave her leg a good shake trying to get some of the feathers off, brushing the rest off with her hand while laughing. At least it wasn't itching powder.
This felt like an ongoing theme right now as she tried to keep herself fully aware of any oncoming balloons. She knew it was only a game and the whole point was to have a bit of fun but she really didn't feel like getting hit again. So far her odds had been good with only feathers but how long could that last?
Not wanting to waste to much time, Lia tossed her second balloon at Apollo while he took aim at someone else. Maybe she would get lucky and catch him off guard.

As she released the balloon at Violet, Claudine did her best to keep an eye out for any incoming balloons. It was too bad she didn’t have as many eyes as an acromantula to see in all directions of the room. All she knew was that a balloon hit her at the base of her neck. It burst and a few bugs swarmed her. Disgusted, the fifth year swatted at them in haste, but not before they had managed to scratch/tickle at her with their wings and other assortments of limbs. Ugh. A few more swats sent the bugs flying off. Thank goodness!
Alright.
Claudine had more balloons to throw. Who was next? Apollo. Perfect. With another aim, her third balloon was tossed at the first year. | |

While Apollo had his guard down in his looking to see if his balloon had struck its mark on Kaira, it was the perfect time for someone to take advantage of this. So much for maintaining vigilance, although if Apollo was being honest, he wasn't sure he was ever really instructed about that yet? Anyway, as his gaze had followed the line of flight from his balloon, he'd forgotten about that balloon the second one struck his thigh and bounced down to his foot where it exploded into .... itchy powder!!!!
Hopping up and down on one foot now to try and get rid of the itch, it was in his hopping that another incoming balloon thrown by Claudine had made contact with his back. This one merely exploded into feathers though, for which the Gryffindor was grateful as he got his bearings back on his three balloons he had remaining.
Retaliating a balloon throw back at Lia, all while still hopping, was a challenge but perhaps it would be to his benefit? His guard was on alert now for any other incoming balloons.

It burst and a few bugs swarmed her. Disgusted, the fifth year swatted at them in haste, but not before they had managed to scratch/tickle at her with their wings and other assortments of limbs. Ugh. A few more swats sent the bugs flying off. Thank goodness!
Alright.
Claudine had more balloons to throw. Who was next? Apollo. Perfect. With another aim, her third balloon was tossed at the first year. Uh-oh. Bugs. Errrrmm..errrm! Kaira shot an apologetic look in Claudine's direction.

Ravenclaw Fifth Year | 2d balloon at Kinsay; hit by Claudine's balloon & returned fire; last one at Apollo
Violet aimed her second balloon (feathers) at Kinsay, so she didn't see the incoming balloon shot at her by Claudine and it hit her squarely on her right thigh. Itching powder! Just her luck. The itching seemed very intense for a game, and Violet tried to avoid scratching it, though she couldn't resist reaching down to rub it once or twice. And while bent over, she caught sight, out of the corner of her eye, of Claudine, who appeared to be smirking just a little. Okay, that was challenge enough.
Violet rose, the itching subsiding, and aimed her third balloon (itching powder) at Claudine. Then, with only one balloon left, she heaved it (itching powder balloon] at the nearest person she saw Apollo. It was just too hard to concentrate today to drag this game on any longer, and Violet didn't much care who she did or didn't hit.

| I know this is an icky timeline now, but remember this was IC before the war! Puff by day, snake by night | Mj's bestie | Always UP to Something...
She watching the balloons flying and had to giggle a few times. The students looked like they were having fun and honestly fun was what they deserved with how this term had went. She even had a balloon it her and a few bees flew out causing her left elbow itch. This made her pause for a moment as something she was thinking over, something she had seen in a few of her readings, but this was not the time.
"Alright everyone please move back to the front of the room. I hope you had some fun and found some itchy places to do some research." She grinned and waited until they were all back in the front before swishing her wand and having the desks move back into place. "Go ahead and have a seat. I won't keep you much longer. I would like you to take a moment and write down where you felt itchy and for a homework assignment you can research what it means. Remember everything around us can have a sign, you just have to know where to look, how to look, and how to read it." With that she gave a few snaps and took her wand to show a page number on the board. "These are the pages you will find the answers to your itch spots. I'll see you next lesson."
*OOC: Class is dismissed! Thank you for coming. I have cut it a little short, because it's awkward for me to have it going with her death, but we were pretty much done tomorrow anyway! I'll leave this open for 24 hours before closing.

After that activity, Curtis sighed in relief, he had forgotten how much fun he could have in a class. It flew by so fast one would think he hadn't been able to enjoy it, but he did. Once the seating was rearranged, he sat back down to jot down all that he felt along with a note on the homework assignment.
When class was dismissed however, Curtis didn't move out of his seat yet. Instead appearing to take his time and perhaps have an important private question to ask the Professor. Once he was sure no one else was around he got up to pack his things until he went up to her.
"Professor... Mum, thanks for the lesson." Curtis gave a rare smile before he raised his arms out to give her a hug. A heartfelt one since it would be another while before they were allowed to leave the cellar again. Something told him to make this one count. Afterward, he gave his usual salute before heading after everyone before he got himself in trouble again.

And there was her balloon making contact with Violet and Apollo. Claudine was pleased with her aim during today’s lesson. But it was Kaira’s look that made her suspect that one of the balloons, probably the bugs one, had been thrown at Claudine by her. She shrugged. It was all good; no grudges held here.
The Snakette was glad that the lesson was being called to order again because truthfully, she was becoming way too itchy for her taste. Once again seated, she wrote down where the balloons had hit. This bit of homework, in her opinion, wouldn’t be that difficult. A note was made of the page number before Claudine started to gather up her belongings.
“See you around, Professor.’’ For once, Kitridge’s upbeat personality and snaps lifted her spirits, and the realisation made Claudine appreciate the woman. Not that she would ever say that aloud perhaps it should have been  However, Kitridge did get a small smile. | |

Dahlia was still giggling as the balloon game was called to an end. Brushing a few stray feathers off of her robes, she returned to her seat as instructed so that she could quickly jot down the two other places she was itchy from being hit with balloons. Her wrist and her ankle. At the top of the parchment she also added the page number of the text she could look up the information they had just been told about.
Once she had finished doing that, the first year backed away all of her things into her bag. Getting to her feet, she slung her bag over her shoulder. "Thanks for the lesson, Professor." She smiled a little bit more that she had been lately before following the rest of the class out of the room.

Well that was a fun lesson. It was definitely something that she needed. A little fun and excitement in the school. She returns to her seat and grabs her things before following the rest of the class out, giving the professor a soft smile. "Fun lesson, professor! Thank you for that! See you next time."
And with that, she left the room.
