Hufflepuff Table https://s26.postimg.cc/ookwdev89/huf...ble-banner.jpg For those who belong in Hufflepuff House, in the middle of the Great Hall is where your table awaits. Gold banners containing an embroidered black badger float above the polished table in honour of the loyal Helga Hufflepuff. Already placed on the tables are silver plates with accompanying cutlery and goblets. All that is missing right now are the mountains of food and pitchers containing your favourite beverages. |
Sitting at the same Hufflepuff table he had sat on for six years While he waited for his housemates to arrive, Minjae grabbed the empty goblet in front of him and with a quick wave of his wand he non-verbally |
After a summer spent swimming too much with just a short break to visit her aunts and cousins, Mamie was surprisingly glad to be back at Hogwarts. Had last term been traumatizing? Yes. Was it still better than Muggle school? Absolutely. She sat towards the front of the Hufflepuff table, hopeful that any new first years would sit near her and she could be their mentor and show them all about life at Hogwarts. Or she supposed she could talk to her existing housemates, though that was less exciting than new people. |

Gemma was excited to start the new term. She had her new pygmy puff that her brother got her and she had gotten some great new pranks to use. She was hoping to impress Bernie with a few of them. She was still trying to get in with some of the older girls that she found way cooler, but she had a plan for it this year. As she sat with Hope waiting on the headmaster and the speech the doors opening made her jump and when she turned she was happy to see the headmaster, now maybe they would eat. Her eyes followed him and she gasped as something was going on. "Why is his face melting?" That should not be happening, did he get into the potions without asking? It wasn't until she saw a stranger behind her mother that she really started to get nervous. She looked at the others around the table, "Who are they?" |
Mamie frowned when the headmaster arrived and then...magically turned into not the headmaster. She had already been a little scared of the man, but...was it normal for people to turn into other people? She took a deep breath and looked nervously around as more strangers walked in. Whaaat was happening? The professors didn't seem to be panicking, but still, this was odd. Well, different than last year at least. She glanced at some of the nearby older students. Did they know what was going on? Some biannual tradition where they got invaded by strangers, perhaps? She gripped her wand in her pocket. Not that she knew any useful spells, anyway. |
After RUDELY getting shoved back in to Great Hall, Minjae kept his injured hand hidden inside of his sleeve as he found himself back at the Hufflepuff table again. He didn't greet any of his housemates and instead looked over at the staff table and then at the strange people surrounding each table including theirs. So many questions were going through his mind. Who were they? What had happened to the Headmaster? The real Headmaster? And who was the imposter? He should have sneaked out of the feast and gone to the gaming room instead of talking to Coby earlier. |
There are few things that could have really jolted Flynn out of his current bout of angsty introspection, and Kale's dad suddenly not being Kale's dad was up there. He gaped a bit, taking in the sudden arrival of unsavoury sorts, then looked over at the Gryffindor table where the Trent kids were. He kept his mouth shut. What was happening???? |
At the end of Headmaster Rosier's speech, a large pile of parchment appears. Take one and get it filled out with any of the many quills made available. No need to hand it in, just get it done and it will do the rest. Quote:

Flynn didn't know where to look. Cece stunning Kale made his eyes widen but he could also see the wisdom of it. Neo-Alliance? Alliance cf what? It didn't tell him much about what was going on. The forms too, he was unsure about, but pulled one closer along with a quill. ..... Quote:
"What's muggle upliftment?“ He asked nobody in particular. No really, did that mean making them happy or like..... moving them someplace? And what did muggles have to do with anything anyway? |
Mamie was unmoved by the commotion at the Gryffindor table. Weren't they loud and dramatic even without a Hogwarts invasion? She was, however, quite unnerved by the fake headmaster's speech. He'd taken the school? They were disposable? Untimely and excruciating end? She squirmed in her seat, crossing her arms tightly over her chest in a meager form of self-comfort until the scary man was done talking. She picked up a parchment and a quill and started to fill it out, as instructed. The first few lines seemed harmless enough--though if this man was the headmaster, she did not understand why he wouldn't already have access to this information... When she got to the Blood Heritage line, she stalled. How was this relevant? She vividly remembered a history of magic class last term...didn't they decide a person's blood heritage didn't matter? She was pretty sure that was true. She glanced up and down the table at her fellow Hufflepuffs. Were they filling out the whole thing? Or just the normal stuff? She was so confused. And, it seemed like even the older students were confused. Maybe she should fill out what she could, and come back to the weird parts later. She glanced further down the form. Muggle upliftment? That sounded good. But...these people were really scary. Neo-Alliance sounded bad. She briefly considered lying, but...she figured it would be bad to get caught lying. She filled out the stuff about her parents' jobs, well about her Papa's job. She always got confused when her mother tried to explain her job. Quote:

It came to no one's surprise that the Gryffindors immediately began their uproar when the strangers surrounded the tables in the Great Hall. Minjae craned his neck in order to see what was happening over at that table and he paled a little knowing what had happened to that Luck kid. 'Cowards' Minjae thought as he made a fist with his uninjured hand but he remained seated and quiet. As a seventh year he felt that he had a responsibility and turning the attention to their table would be unwise. Especially since the Hufflepuffs were staying quiet. Then the speech came and Minjae tried his best to capture every word that the new Headmaster was saying. Not that he was interested but he feared that if he didn't pay attention he'd meet the same fate as Adam Luck did. When the forms were handed out, the Hufflepuff frowned down at the questions and upon seeing the word Heritage and Muggle upliftment he froze. The quill in his hand began to tremble and using his other hand he tried to keep it steady. A cold sweat broke out and he tugged on his tie to loosen it up. He wasn't stupid, he knew about certain wizarding folk who did not look kindly at Muggleborns. And he had a terrible feeling that they were exactly those people. Hand still trembling, the seventh year wrote down his name and house but he stopped then, his dark brown eyes transfixed on the paper and not daring to look up. Should he lie? Say he was pureblood? That his parents worked at the ministry? But what if they found out that he had lied? Were they going to do background checks? Were the consequences of being a Muggleborn more terrible than lying that he was a Pureblood? He heard Flynn's question but his brain did not process it as he was too worried about himself at the moment. Eventually, he decided to be brave and answer truthfully. Name: Minjae Yoon Age: 17 Year: 7th House: Hufflepuff Date of Birth: 02/16/2085 Blood Heritage: Muggleborn... Parent/Guardian(s) name(s): Jieun and Seonghwa Yoon Parent/Guardian(s) occupation(s): Father is a CEO of a trading company based in Europe and Asia and Mother is a Director at an prosecution office. Do your parents work at the ministry: No Do your parents support muggle upliftment: Depends When was the last time you supported muggle upliftment? Always. Sue me. When he finished writing, Minjae immediately regretted getting sassy on the paper but the moment he bend down to cross out some things the form suddenly went away and his stomach dropped. Crap... |
Things were definitely not good. Not at all. Or, at least, that had been the message going through Gracelyn’s head ever since they had all found out that the headmaster had been polyjuiced, or at least definitely not himself, which had brought back any thoughts she’d had last term about him acting weird. At least now they had an answer as to why that had been, but again, it wasn’t exactly making her feel any better. Plus, there had been the whole fact she’d practically been taking a head count of all her friends to make sure they were there, and the sight of Cobe being forcibly pushed into the Great Hall certainly hadn’t made her feel any comfort. Even though it meant her friends were okay. Hypothetically. Present, anyway, even if Kale was currently unconscious. Which was probably better for him in the long run. Maybe. The jury was still out, thanks to, well, everything. The appearance of the parchment hadn’t helped either. Mostly because there was a part of her that absolutely didn’t want to budge an inch for the not!headmaster Rosier and his goons. Because that’s what the adults who had invaded the feast were, given what they’d all seen happen at the Gryffindor table. Yes, the Gryffindors were reacting. But they were Gryffindors. It should be expected that they’d be the first to act. Not to mention she figured at least some of them had valid reasons to be reacting. Like Kale, and even Cece, since she’d seen the quick flash of her friend’s wand before Kale had collapsed. But back to the parchment, and her free hand had drifted up to the constellation around her neck as she thought about how she should answer. On the one hand, being truthful, at least with her name and the easy answers, might be better if it really was to prove she was here. But the rest of it was what worried her. Even before Flynn had verbally voiced the question. She really didn’t think things would go well for anyone who said they were in support of muggle upliftment. But she also was afraid to voice her concerns, even just in writing. Quote:

Mamie had kept sort of looking around to see what her housemates were doing, and she'd seen a couple of the older students fill out their whole form (presumably) and it disappeared, and they were still there, so...she took a deep breath and decided she could be brave and fill it out, too. She'd be in good company, at least. Plus, she was a second year. She had to set an example for the first years. She still didn't know what muggle upliftment was, but it still sounded good, so. Yes. Her parents probably supported it. She probably did, too. But she was still sort of scared of putting the wrong answer, so...best to hedge her bets. They hadn't defined the term, after all, so she could always blame her being not smart enough to understand. She was glad she wasn't a Ravenclaw. Quote:

This was all so confusing and so much was going on. She watched her table start to fill out the forms, "Why are they making us do this? What is going on?" She just wanted to go to her mother, but knew she better not. She wanted to throw her dungbombs at the people standing too close to her mother. "Muggle upliftment must mean to cheer them up and do nice thing." She at least thought it sounded that way. She wasn't fully sure why they were just all filling out the forms though. Shouldn't they see if the real Trent came to school? She sighed and looked at the form, everything in her was saying not to fill it out. |
Cathal had been expecting many things when he had boarded his very first train to Hogwarts this morning. This, however, was not one of them. He would like very much to disappear right this second and was trying to appear as small as he could, please don't notice him, scary people. The first year looked down the Hufflepuff table and saw others filling out the form that appeared before them. Cal sat up a little in his seat and took a quill in his trembling hand. Would he get in trouble for not knowing some of the answers?? Quote:
