#TeamPurple (Casting the spell/counter-spell) Quote:
The Snakette observed Atlas' status to see if her spell had worked before aiming her wand at him again and casting, "Finite." "You okay?" It was activity time so Fiona grabbed a purple headband. She hated the colour orange. |
Orange team- casting on Atlas Ash shook her arms, just to make sure she could move them. "I regret everything I just said. I'm glad you unfroze me. I so don't wanna do that forever." She was going to freeze Claudine, but oops! Time was up. She was kinda glad that she didn't have to freeze her. Especially since she'd just realized what being frozen felt like. She took some deep breaths to calm her nerves. Oh great. The main activity involved more freezing. She sighed loudly. "Team Orange then, I guess." She pointed her wand at Atlas. "Immobulus." |

#TeamOrange; Immobulus at Fiona <3 And that was it. The practice was over and it was time to move on. Even though she hadn’t been frozen by Ashley, that was fine. By the sound of the activity, she just might have that opportunity. Claudine headed to collect a sweatband; an orange one was chosen. It was quickly donned as she went over Peralta’s rules in her head. It was easy enough. Right. Time to get started. "Immobulus!" That Charm was aimed at her good friend Fiona. Sorry, Fiona! |
Purple, casting on Claudine, then unfreezing Fiona Quote:
Immediately she began to look around for orange headbands, and seeing one, she fired at once: "Immobulus! Then she saw it was Claudine, one of her few friends, sort of. Oops. Oh well. She then saw that the nearby Fiona was wearing a purple headband, so she cast a "Finite Incantatum" at her for good measure. She was a little nervous because her practice session with Mamie hadn't left her much time to practice herself (that was the last time Violet would be nice and offer to go last). Speaking of Mamie, she wondered which team she was on... |
Team Purple - Unfreezing Atlas Fiona watched as Ash froze Atlas. She was about to unfreeze the Gryffindor when her fellow Snakette, Claudine froze her. "Brilliant," Fiona thought. Within moments, another fellow Snakette in the form of Violet had removed the Freezing Charm from Fiona. "Thanks, Violet," she replied with a smile. Fiona then got back to her original plan and aimed her wand at a frozen Atlas before casting a non-verbal, "Finite." |
Team Purple - Unfreezing Kinsay & Moose Quote:
She nodded at Minjae. "Yeah, I think I'm good. Thanks." And then class was moving on which...how long had she been frozen??? But it was okay too, 'cause they were still gonna be using the spell so it was all practice really. And! The teams were purple and orange, and they got to choose, so of course Ivy grabbed a sweatband in her favorite color, purple. She slipped it on quickly and looked around for someone to cast on. Kinsay and Moose, she noticed, were both frozen but neither were wearing a headband yet. Were they on her team or the other? Maybe it didn't count either way since they hadn't been able to choose yet? So it didn't seem fair to just leave them stuck and unable to officially join either team. "Finite." She cast at Moose. "Finite." And that one was for Kinsay. Were they good now? |
#TeamPurple casting at Ashley Apollo had mostly just found himself staying quiet in lessons because it seemed to be a surefire way to avoid getting into trouble or scolded. Not even really bothering to care what colour sweatband he chose, he had made his way up to the desk and took from the first box without really paying too much attention. It was purple. He slipped it over his head, as he listened to the instructions. Freeze those on the opposite team. Sounded simple enough, even if he wasn't fully sure how great his spellwork was, but it was simple enough task. Moving around the room cautiously, the first year watched for a classmate to target and his gaze finally fell upon the girl he'd met awhile back in the broom cupboard. He felt slightly bad because she had seemed nice, but also, she cast on his dormmate!! Which meant only one thing - "Immobulus!" he flicked his wand toward Ash and hoped for the best. |
please don't RP spell outcomes on other characters in the future <33 (#teampurple) Did Atlas mind that he hadn't really had much of a chance for some in classroom practice? Not really. Quinn had given him PLENTY of opportunity to practice by complete accident so it was all good. What...he wanted to experience and practice more than anything else was what it would feel like to have the spell cast on him. Which the older snakette had just provided and, well, he had to say it wasn't all that bad and there were OBVIOUSLY way worse spells to be struck with. ...way...way worse... He had just finished adjusting and readjusting and adjusting his headband again (classic procrastination efforts over here) as the activity kicked off...and was in the middle of yet another adjustment, purple headband over his eyes, when a spell struck him seemingly out of the blue. Which, well, what was that one catchphrase people kept throwing out about vigilantes? Or was it vigilance? In any case, Atlas was not frozen for too long as he was soon unfrozen again. And he had missed all of it because he had literally had his eyes covered. All good? All good. Since he could no longer procrastinate - nor who to thank or retaliate against since he had missed it all - the first year readied his wand and took aim at the first orange headband he saw...which happened to belong to an older Gryffindor [Watson]. Entirely in a game mindset (this would be a DOPE game to play in the Gryffindor common room sometime, you know? Alterate between this and floor is lava...under, well, different circumstances), he spiritedly flourished his wand and took his shot. "Immobulus!" |
While Atlas had apparently not noticed Ash casting on him, Apollo definitely had. She was frozen in place AGAIN. Ohno. Ohno. Oh. No. Help help help. It's scary being alone. Put me back in the real world. She was panicking hard. Or she would be, if she could move. |
#TeamOrange; dodging Violet's spell Things happened all at once. One second she was aiming a spell at Fiona, and the other, she was being targeted. Without bothering to check if her spell had hit Fiona, Claudine quickly ducked in order to dodge the spell thrown by her. She had recognised the voice before fully registering who the culprit was: Violet. That was fine but one couldn’t expect to target Claudine and not expect to have one spell thrown back. Just where was the younger Slytherin? Claudine straightened back up, wand held aloof, and keeping an eye out for spells heading her way. |
Orange - casting at Atlas Mamie was pleased that her spell worked on someone, even if it hadn't been her intended target. Then, she spotted one of those little Gryffindors from the purple team casting at her good, old friend Noah, so she promptly aimed her own spell at the little one (Atlas). "Immobulus!" she said, flourishing her wand as she'd done before, before turning to look for her next target and also to see if anyone in orange like her needed defrosting. See? This was teamwork. |
Team Purple - Casting at Mamie. Fiona was scanning the room for any members of the opposition and within seconds, she had spotted Mamie. Aiming her wand at the young Hufflepuff, Fiona fired a non-verbal, "Immobulus!" The Snakette then resumed her scanning, hoping that she wouldn't be frozen again. She was feeling quite competitive. |

Orange - Dodging Fiona's spell Quote:
Not waiting to actually hear the girl cast, (a good thing, since apparently the fifth year could do non-verbal spells!) Mamie ducked to the ground to avoid getting frozen. Whew! Who knew a group "duel" could be so physically involved? She clambered slowly back to her feet, wand ready to freeze one of those purple-headbanded-folks or protect herself again. Were they allowed to use the shield charm? She couldn't remember. |
Team Orange - Casting at Apollo SPOILER!!: Noah pre-activity At least the freeze tag game would give him more opportunity to practice, though he could’ve done without the competition aspect. Seriously, why did the professor have to turn everything into a competition? Wasn’t there enough division in the school already? Making a mental note of the game rules, Heath went to the front to retrieve his sweatband. He had no emotional attachment to either color, so he chose an orange one at random. A quick glance around told him that Noah was on the same team, He nodded, holding up his armband as if to say, Hello, Teammate. But there wasn’t much time for pleasantries, The game was starting. Oh, they were allowed to use nonverbals? Heath was going to try that. If he ever needed to use this spell against an enemy, he wouldn’t want to tip them off by saying the spell out loud, and it’s not like he got much practice with nonverbals anymore. His dark eyes scanned the room for purple sweatbands, and he spotted a younger Gryffindor (Apollo). Aiming his wand, he cast a nonverbal Immobulus and hoped for the best. |
#TeamOrange; Unfreezing Ashley <3 Violet had nothing to worry about: Claudine wasn’t going to be angry about the little happening a short while ago. Why would she be? It was all in the fun, but still… her younger Slytherin friend had better watch out. Anyway. Wait. Was Ashley stuck? Claudine eyed the girl for a quick second. Yep, the Ravenclaw definitely seemed to not be moving. “Finite.’’ The counterspell should do the trick. Confident that it would work, the Snakette threw herself back into the activity by searching for her next target. |
Team Purple - Casting at Heath Ivy wanted to make sure she had successfully unfroze Kinsay and Moose Spotting Heath wearing an orange sweatband, she cast a quick "Immobulus!" at him. |
#teampurple(PLEASE don't RP the results of a spell on any character but your own ;_;) He was NOT still playing with his headband, thank you very much! Procrastination efforts were sufficiently exhausted and now he was half participating in the game. Half because, well, most of the spells he had tried to cast on other people this term had not entirely gone over well. It had mostly been in that class masquerading around as Defense Against the Dark Arts Which was why he was not sticking around to see if his spell hit the older Gryffindor, it was like that cat in a box, and began serpentining his movements about the classroom looking for someone to unfreeze - because he was much more of a defensive player than he was an offensive one. Probably. Which was ALSO why the spell cast by the one Hufflepuff Atlas would not do well on a battleground, that was for sure. Unless he was camouflaging. Then he had a rat's hope of survival. Also...what WAS it with older Slytherin girls and just...freaking him out? For real though. WHY?! Nearly jumping out of his skin as scary Slytherin number two (the first was Aboli) whispered in his ear (KIND OF LOUDLY) about paying attention...and it almost sounded threatening. So Atlas was gulping but nodding because, well, threat or not she DID have a point. So...yes. Purple headband in place and wand in hand, Atlas continued to dart around and looked for someone to spare...or shoot at. And, well, seeing as someone (Heath) had just targeted his own dormmate...the first year pointed his want at the older Ravenclaw juuuuuuuuuuust as someone else on his team (Ivy) cast a spell at him too. "IMMOBULUS!" Subtlety was also not exactly a strong suit. |
Team Purple - Casting at Claudine (sorry) Fiona gritted her teeth in frustration when the spell she had cast Mamie's way was dodged by the target herself. Okay, it was time to find a new target and soon she spotted Claudine. Aiming her wand at her fellow Snakette, Fiona cast yet another silent but this time more focused, "Immobulus!" Fiona hoped that this time the spell had been more effective. |
(asdfjkl! 2 spells at once) Team Orange - Dodging Ivy's spell/Taking Atlas's Did it work? Heath looked to the younger Gryffindor (Apollo), but before he could see if his spell hit its target, someone's (Ivy) voice caused his dark head to turn in the direction of the sound… just as a spell came toward him. He stepped aside, dodging the spell just in time. Unfortunately, his evasive action put him right in the path of another spell (Atlas's) aimed at him. That one hit, freezing him in place. Although Heath's body was frozen, his emotions were not. Oh, for Merlin's sake! Anyone else want to target me while I'm stuck here? he thought angrily. He watched the game unfold in front of him through unblinking eyes, powerless to do anything, hoping someone on his team would unfreeze him. A little help here, please? |
team orange- unfrozen and unfreezing Heath Helpppp. Oh. She was okay now. "Thanks Claudine." She gave the girl a grateful smile, and then pointed her wand at Heath. "Finite." She hated immobulus now. Not as much as incendio or crucio, but still a lot. It was so uncomfortable, not being able to move at all. ANd Heath was her friend, so she shouldn't let him stay frozen like that. |
Team purple - and frozen by Heath :3 quick phone post for fluidity sake Apollo stared wide-eyed when his spell hit his mark and he almost felt bad for a fleeting second since he had targeted Ashley and he knew she was already having a rough year. But alas it was only a fleeting second since this was just a game, wasn't it ? And his spell had WORKED!!! Well it did until she was unfrozen. But in all his glory of the successful spell cast, the first year had made a grave error in letting his own guard down as he found himself unable to move and frozen in place due to Heath's spell. Help please, someone? Except he couldn't actually ask for help so hopefully someone would notice his statue pose. |
Team Purple - Finite @ Apollo Heath had dodged her spell, which wasn't entirely unexpected. What was unexpected was Atlas also casting the spell at him - and succeeding! Some good accidental teamwork there, yeah? Ivy gave him a thumbs up if he happened to look her way. Then she continued moving, looking for another orange target or someone on her team who needed help. Like Apollo! Looked like he'd been frozen. So she sent a "Finite!" his way. |
#TeamOrange; Taking a hit from Fiona <3 Claudine had been overconfident that her counterspell would work and wasn’t surprised to see Ashley back in action soon after. She flashed the Ravenclaw a thumbs up but never managed to find a target. That was because Fiona was out for revenge. Well, maybe not revenge but there was a spell heading for Claudine and it took her by surprise. The result? This fifth year got hit squarely with the spell and now stood there frozen. Her wand arm was raised slightly in Fiona’s direction, the other close to her waist; she had been in the process of lowering it after giving Ashley the thumbs up. |
