If you want to be the last to leave or want to hang with the more rowdy crowd, then the back passenger cars of the train are for you. Just like the other cars, a long corridor provides access to the many compartments, each labelled with a letter, available for you and your friends to hunker down in until the train has come to a complete stop. Cushioned seats and large windows, allowing perfect views of the British scenery on your journey, await.
Well, what are you waiting for? Slide open a compartment door and make yourself at home. Place any of your belongings not in the luggage car on the racks above you. Chat with your friends about what your summer plans, enjoy munching on the snacks you bought from the trolley lady, get ahead of the game by exchanging addresses, or take a long nap as the train travels over numerous hills and mountainsides. Whatever you do, exhibit your best behaviour -- the prefects will be regularly patrolling the corridors and poking their heads inside your compartment to make sure you are doing so.

Apollo survived. Officially. He was twelve years old and going to be a second year and even though his first year hadn't gone as he imagined it, he wasn't sure he would really change much of anything (except maybe the evil cult taking over and the murder of innocent lives).
The gryffindor casually made his way down the corridor, peering into the different compartments, wondering if Isabella was on-board yet. Or Mamie. Or anyone familiar. Maybe he was one of the first ones? Shrugging, he slid into an empty compartment figuring friends could join him if they wanted. As the first into this particular compartment it also afforded him the right to choose the window seat.

Ash wanted to go home and sleep. She wanted. To. Sleep. She trudged into the back cars and laid down on a seat. She closed her eyes. Wait... rewind. Oops. Apollo was in this compartment. As this was not one of her daydreams, she found that she couldn't actually rewind. She settled for sitting back up, running a hand through her hair and pretending like he hadn't just seen her almost pass out on the train car seat. Ahem. She made a relaxed face that paradoxically required lots of effort to fake. "Mmmm. Hey Apollo." Hey. Ash was lucky it was Apollo and not like, Emmerson or something. Boy would that be a nightmare. "What are you doing over the summer?" Her lame attempt at conversation. Could he take it please? It was all she had.

It wasn't long until he was joined by someone who seemed to be almost sleep walking into his compartment. Apollo glanced over to see it was the girl from the broom cupboard - Ashley - the one who'd also disappeared in Potions class close to right before the battle. He offered her a smile of consolation of sorts, because she seemed to have had it rough this term from when he'd found her cowering and hiding before she'd been sentenced to the room. "Ashley, hey. Jelly slug?" He asked casually, reaching into his bag to pull out a bag of the candy.
What was he doing this summer? "Uh ... getting a broom, i hope. And maybe trying to convince my mom to homeschool me but I doubt that will work." He grinned. "You ... feel okay?"

"Sure." Did Ash like jelly slugs? Not really. But being the daughter of a super rich guy was a lesson in being polite and eating the food that is offered to you, even if the food was something she didn't like, like tuna fish. "Oh! I need to replace my broom! Do you think I can get insurance money for the old one? It cost lots of money, and I think if it got blown up by a cult, that should qualify as something my insurance will cover. Otherwise, I'll have to pay out of pocket." She sighed and ate the jelly slug. Well, at least she could afford to replace it. She felt bad for the classmates who couldn't afford replacements- should she buy them brooms too? "Nah. Not very okay. But when I get back to Australia, I will. I'm going to go surfing, get a boyfriend, and hang out with Claudine for a day, and I will totally feel okay after that." Totally. She nodded convincingly, not quite convinced herself. "I can't believe I'm going back to Hogwarts next year." Like, was she TRYING to be sad? Because going to Hogwarts was a great way to be sad. She sighed. "I'm mostly only staying to make a point." Make of that what you will.

Isabella get onto the train in the back, hoping to find a compartment for herself. She had survived her first year at school and should be happy, but she wasn't not after this rough year. The evil cult had took away the fun so she wasn't sure if she wanted to go back for a second year. If Apollo went back then she would too she supposed, but reluctantly and with no expectations. Maybe a break would be good for her?
As if on cue Apollo's familiar head popped into view in one of the side compartments, holding out a bag of was that jelly slugs to Ashley? She had wanted to be alone. but the universe wanted differently. It was no use to argue so Bella walked up to the compartment, pushed open the door and stuck her black haired head in with a small smile pursing her lips. "Hey guys, have you got room for one more?" Gesturing to Apollo's bag of glorious sweets she pleaded. "Please say you have jelly slugs and chocolate frogs in that bag to share Apollo?"

Cornelia was ... well, she was here. She was no longer the same girl she was the last time she had been on the train, but rather ... something else entirely. What exactly, she wasn't sure. The term had impacted her in ways she didn't even know, and the war ... Just thinking about it would bring her to tears all over again, the whole thing something she had been pushing aside. She had cried the night she learned what had happened, but she didn't want to cry anymore. She wanted to be strong.
Sitting in a compartment all alone, she just stared blankly out the window. To passersby, it would appear that she was very much engaged with the scenery. Internally, however, she was trying to make sense of everything. Her mother's apparent loyalty to the Neo-Alliance, her sudden death, everything was quite a bit to process and the girl honestly was still in denial about it all.
Deep thoughts continued to flutter in and out of her mind, all unanswered.

Kaira was just standing by the compartment as she noticed the girl next to her. She looked familiar, maybe she's seen her in one of her classes. Probably a fellow first year? She hadn't met a lot of people this year, and maybe now was the time to change it?

Passing her the bag of jelly slugs, Apollo listened as she talked about insurance to replace a broom. "I uh ... I think ... that's only for professionals?" He knew some of his family had destroyed brooms in the past but honestly, he was so young (maybe not even born when it happened), that it wasn't like he had thought to ask, how'd ya afford a new one?? That wasn't something that twelve year olds typically asked.
But ... hold the invisible phone. Did she just say?
"Australia?" He blinked and was about to inquire more and also if the boyfriend goal was the same crush she had talked about months ago in the cupboard, when the compartment opened and he grinned at sight of Isabella's head. "Uh yea. Doh. Come on in, Isabella." He tossed his bag over to her with his snack supply, trusting she could go through and get what she liked. "Do you know Ashley?? She was just telling me how she was going to go to Australia ---"

She didn't feel like being alone. Not after the year she'd had. That is when she heard sounds from a particular compartment (Apollo and Ashley).
"Hello guys, mind if I join y'all?," she asked
But before he could really finish talking about Australia.... he heard a voice from outside the compartment and noticed it was Kaira from charms. He was about to wave her to come on when she ... went to a nearby compartment instead (Cornelia). Eh. They could both come in if they wanted or not.

Broom insurance only for professionals? Was car insurance only for racecar drivers? Was house insurance only for people with mansions? "Hmph, that's alright. my dad can afford it." Or she could like, sue the government. She grimaced. BUT IT WAS ALWAYS BETTER TO HAVE INSURANCE. Why was Apollo looking at her weird? Was it because of her summer plans or because of her insurance plans? Oh. "Yeah, I live in Australia. There are oceans and stuff. It's cool." She waved at the new arrivals- or new arrival? She wasn't sure. She smiled at Isabella, who she might have met at one point probably. "Yeah, I live there. In Australia. You can have my jelly slugs if you want."

'Hiiii!,' Kaira said to the girl
She was so entranced in her own thoughts that it she didn't notice anyone standing outside the compartment. After all, it was normal for people to pass by and all of that on such a long journey. The Slytherin just carried on with staring out the window, though even the trees and rivers and hills weren't really registering in her mind.
Her thoughts were something she was very much focused on at the moment. So much so that it did take a moment or two for her to acknowledge the voice that had sounded from someone in her year. She knew the voice and sort of recalled the girl's name, but that was all.
A sigh suppressed, Cornelia slowly turned her head. "Hi," she responded, not matching the apparent excitement of the Ravenclaw. She wasn't being unfriendly, though her tone was coming off rather flat.

Walking into the compartment she grabbed the snack bag nicely out of the air before it connected with her face. Maybe she should go to Quidditch camp after all? Grinning over at Apollo, she settled down on one of the empty compartment seats. "I know I can always count on you to have a stack of sweets. Will you go to quidditch camp with me if they host it this summer again?"
Before she stuck her head in the bag of sweets she turned to look over at Ashley. They had met during the year at some point outside of classes if Bella wasn't totally misremembering. "Hi Ashley, I think we met in a corridor somewhere this year if I don't recall wrong. It's very cool that you're from Australia. " Smile turning brighter she said "Oh thanks, that's so generous of you. Can't we share the jelly slugs?" It's be a nice compromise.
Bella was about to look down into Apollo's bag of sweets when another girl stuck her head in the door briefly before she went over to the compartment nearby where Cornelia from her house was sitting alone. Waving over at them both Bella called out. "Hi Cornelia!, Hi Kaira! Want to join us?"
