Ravenclaw Table https://s26.postimg.cc/q4wevjy55/rav...ble-banner.jpg For those who belong in Ravenclaw House, in the middle of the Great Hall is where your table awaits. Blue banners containing an embroidered bronze eagle float above the polished table in honour of the wise Rowena Ravenclaw. Already placed on the tables are silver plates with accompanying cutlery and goblets. All that is missing right now are the mountains of food and pitchers containing your favourite beverages. |
Ashley sat at the closer-to-the-staff end of the table nervously. This was so exiting but scary at the same time. At least she had made friends before coming to school. That seemed like a smart choice now. A lot of them were in her house too. She looked around to see who was sitting near her. Maybe she could meet new people at this feast. And also maybe eat food. |
Her first start-of-term feast as a PREFECT! Avalon was absolutely thrilled, and she couldn't wait to show the new first years and transfers around. The train ride had been quite relaxing, and she had plenty of time to change into her robes (and affix her shiny new badge) before they arrived at Hogwarts. Glancing up at the staff table, she took in the seating arrangement, noticing the absence of Professor Rainwater and Professor Noble. Would there ever be a year without a staff change? Avalon smirked at her Head of House's ghastly orange robes - leave it to Schmoe to bring the high fashion. Quote:
Avalon wanted to ask the first year more about herself to get to know her, but she didn't want to be pushy on the girl's first day. Not all Ravenclaws liked to chat. So the prefect decided to wait for her reply before bombarding her with questions and information about Hogwarts. Perhaps she could get a feel for the girl's personality first. |

Valencia was... alright. She still hadn't gotten over the A and the E she'd gotten on her OWLs. There went her chance at perfection and living up to what everyone said about her -- Valencia was the smartest person I know. Instead, she was merely ... acceptable. Dragging Royse along behind her, she made way straight for the Ravenclaw table. Her eyes AVOIDING the Slytherin one. She was still upset that Aboli told her that grades didn't matter when Aboli had scored a badge and had a guarantee to get in anywhere she wanted. Valencia had been relying on good grades to get her into a university and she had failed tremendously in her effort to make her application stand out. Her eyes wandered up to the staff table. How soon was too soon to ask for extra material to revise for NEWTs? A year of preparation was too short of a time to study so she needed to get a start on it now if she had any hope of salvaging her |

Plopping himself down at the table he grinned up at her and pulled out two chocolate frogs from his pocket. "Some sustenance to tide us over for the lengthy speech? |
Quote:
She offered a tiny smile. "You're so accustomed to it now. I'm sure nothing happening might get boring." Although, if this summer taught them anything, it was that they both enjoyed a normal quiet "boring" life. She glanced between him and the chocolate frog and the staff table. "How scandalous. Are you suggesting I spoil my dinner with chocolate?" she gasped. "My mother would be incredibly proud of you." |
Quote:
Royse grinned and slid one of the frogs toward her stealthily as his eyes went to the staff table. "That is exactly what I am suggesting Ms. Phillips. Come join the dark side. We have chocolate," he chuckled as he gave her a wink and opened his package carefully so the frog didn't jump out. |
Quote:
She hid a soft giggle behind a hand. "I just want the legs." she said accepting one of the packages. The frog legs made her feel fancy. She opened up the package with one hand while holding it close with the other. She waited until she felt the thump against the package before properly opening the top. |
So does this make it official? Eron is finally a seventh year and although it sounds "fun", he does feel...................... old. It doesn't make sense because 17 is still so young but still, Eron still feels that way. Especially now that his sister will be joining him for team Ravenclaw. The seventh year got himself a seat and propped up both his elbows on the table, his gaze turned to his sister as he watched her getting sorted in Ravenclaw- obviously. It isn't that surprising or well Eron knew for a certain Irithel belonged to this house. Annnnyyywaaaay... a meal right now seems like a good idea since he only had brownies at the train ride which he shared with his companion, Noah. Eron sat quietly and checked the Hufflepuff's table in case Carys had already arrived but she hasn't yet. His eyes wandering around and spotting their new Prefect mingling with the first year. The longer he waited for the food to arrive, the more he is reminded that he won't be seeing some of his friends for this term. Raul and Islay are off to better things and Eron promised he will write to them the moment he gets back at Hogwarts. |

He watched her curiously as she opened the frog. "Wait...why just the legs? That's weirdly torturous. That's like eating the heads off the goldfish crackers. Absolutely barberic," he said with a laugh. His eyes scanned the table and then over at his house table. "You want me to flag down Aboli if I see her?" |

They were soon joined by Valencia and some Slytherin guy - Avalon assumed it was her boyfriend, by the way they were sitting and talking to each other. Both of them received polite nods but the prefect, but she wondered why the Snake wanted to sit at the Ravenclaw table. Avalon never had a boyfriend before, but she reckoned that she wouldn't give up her seat at her house's table for anyone. She had too much house pride. Quote:

So this was her house now. Interesting. Amabel was judging everyone here already as she made her way over and took a seat. Not anyone she knew tho there was that one girl she met in the alley sorted here also. Everyone else she met was in Gryffindor. Interesting how things work out. Well almost everyone. She looks at the plates set out for everyone and thought about the food and what it would be before looking at everyone else around her and just taking it all in. So this was Hogwarts. |
Quote:
"You do realize that both frog legs and fish heads are actual meals, don't you?" Which was exactly why she wanted just the legs. Which, she snapped off and nibbled on. Aboli? "No." she said probably far too quickly. |
Quote:
"I know they are. And they're weird." He caught how fast she said no and raised an eyebrow. "No?" |

She shook her head. "She's probably too busy anyway. It doesn't matter." |

Did he want to poke at that? Hmm...sure why not. "Are you mad at her?" |
Quote:
"No." Once again, far too quickly. |
No, no, no. Not good. Mayday, MAYDAY. Teddy James, the emotional sap he was, could not successfully keep the production of tears at bay as he parted from most of his friends and family to sit at the Ravenclaw table, but he blinked furiously to keep them from overflowing beyond the brim of his lower eyelids as he took a seat. None of this felt right. None. Not a single thing. He felt exposed, vulnerable, unprotected. Bare. He knew he was supposed to be excited. He knew he should have been excited. There were friends, family all around: Cobes at his table, Fi and Cece at another, then Yoyo and Flynn at yet another - plus loads of others he longed to see scattered about the Great Hall - and soon enough, his littlest sister and cousin and more Stark kids and long-time friends would be sorted into their houses and live among them... But the core six of the Stark school was now five. Or... was it one, since that's where Tavie was, after all? Five at Hogwarts, one back home. Tavie Stark, that was, back home. Schooling. From home. Stark school. Not Hogwarts. Without them. Some of them had wanted to go back to Hogwarts, some wanted to stay back with Tavie, but ultimately, the five of them were here, spread among their house tables. Disjointed. Teddy wondered if the other four, even if they were at different tables, felt like the room was empty, too. Barren, without their best friend. All six of them had been sorted into pairs. Two of them to three houses. Tavie was his pair. She was his glue. The glue that made him feel connected to others. When Teddy preferred to stay on the sidelines and let others have the attention and shine, Tavie in all her bubbly glory helped him get to know their housemates. She was a people person, a charmer, a ray of sunshine to be around. It was through Tavie that Teddy had become close to Cobes, and he viewed them as a little trio of sorts. No more trio either. Six became five; three became two. It was physically and emotionally exhausting to think about, and Teddy had done a lot of exhausting this summer, but he had thought he was prepared for this. Maybe not. Part of his coping plan involved his sister Kizzy and his cousin Cooper. Kizzy was an awful lot like both their parents, who were Ravenclaws - and Cooper idolized his dad, another Ravenclaw. Ravenclaws. See? It... did make Teddy fearful that Kizzy was also a lot like his Gryffindor twin Fi and modeled many of their mum's strong-willed traits. He knew in his heart of hearts that she might not end up with him. So when the sorting ceremony began, Teddy straightened up. Branxton was early in the alphabet, and the fourth year didn't have to wait long to see his cousin's turn. Ravenclaw. Relief washed over him and he properly smiled for the first time since Fi and Kiz had worked at cheering him (and themselves) up on the train ride. He clapped, far more rambunctiously than he normally did when family or friends were sorted, because this was an occasion where someone was joining him at Ravenclaw. Okay. This was a good start. Maybe Cooper being his housemate would help distract him from the void Tavie was leaving. Soon after Cooper's sorting, Emmerson Cambridge went to Gryffindor. That was... less than surprising; he anticipated that both Emmerson and Emma Rider would be there. And Kizzy was... inseparable from them... Before he could fully process Cooper being with him and mentally prepare himself for the uncertainty of Kizzy's sorting, her name was called. His sister. His baby sister. He smiled again, now, seeing her up there. She was here. All three James kids, together at Hogwarts. This was nice. Regardless of the outcome, this was nice— but why was it taking so long? Minutes. Literal minutes were going by, and agonizingly slowly, at that. Teddy had ample time to fret, fidget, chew too much skin off his bottom lip, and exchange looks with his people. This was brutal - surely it was nearing the point of Kiz being a hatstall, but Teddy hadn't timed it - and then the booming, congratulatory voice of the sorting hat rang out for all to hear. The tears were back, and anyone who didn't know Teddy would have thought they were happy tears because he was automatically cheering and applauding and making the most noise of anyone in the Great Hall, probably, rivaled only to Fi and Emmerson, probably. But the tears were hot, stinging, and made his nose start to run. The more he blinked, the more concerned he got that he was going to cry cry, but when Kizzy took her seat with her people, and Fifi and Emmerson were there, plus Meeks and all the others - she was in good company. She would be fine. Happy there, even. Fifi needed Kizzy, Emmerson needed Kizzy, Kizzy needed them. Even in the moment, Teddy could rationalize that. He was happy for them, all of them there at the Gryffindor table. But he was sad for himself. |

He looked at her as she said no again. Nope. Just not going to pry at that right now. |
Mentions of everybody ^_^ Between the incident at the food trolley and the long train ride without any candy, Heath was already in a sour mood, but he wasn't going to use that as an excuse to spoil everyone else's fun. Being the good actor that he was, he didn't allow any sign of emotion to show on his face as he entered the great hall. His eyes automatically flicked toward Claudine at the Slytherin table, and he gave her a small smile, one that he doubted she'd see with so many people around. He wished he could sit over there with her! But he couldn't. There was no telling how the other Slytherins would react to him, and he was D-O-N-E done with conflict for the day! He dropped his gaze, so as not to accidentally lock eyes with any of the innumerable people in the room as he made his way to the Ravenclaw table. Large gatherings like this always made him want to run for the door! The more people there were, the more chances there were of being disliked… but he wouldn't dwell on that now. He'd resolved to be more sociable this term. "Hi," he greeted everyone at the table. Eron, Teddy, Valencia, and the Slytherin whose name he didn't know (Royse) each got a polite nod of acknowledgement as Heath took his seat near one end of the table. "Congratulations," he said, smiling slightly upon noticing Avalon's prefect. His smile turned into a beam when he saw Ashley. "Welcome to Ravenclaw!" he said. Somehow he had a feeling she'd end up in Ravenclaw from the time he met her in Flourish and Blotts. The other firstie (Amabel) also got a few welcoming words from Heath. "Hey. I'm Heath," he introduced himself. "Welcome to Ravenclaw!" |
