The tower was a bit cooler in the first of November chill still, but as you climbed through the door you will find that the room is set up almost like it always was and a warm cozy feeling can soon be found. The sent of lavender lightly fills the air. Desks are set up so students sit four to a table instead of the normal two. This is because in the back of the room you will find a line of dressing stations and hanging from the wall you will see clothes from casual to dress robes, scarves, and all forms of different shoes, ties, and even hair bows.
Professor Kitridge can be found sitting on her desk with a smile on her face greeting each student with a snap as they come in. The board reads to have a seat and take out some parchment and a quill to get ready for the lesson that will be happening in just a moment.

Happy that her soon to be seatmates were ok with her joining them, Naya sat down. Fortunately she didn’t have to wait long to find out what they would be doing........sort of. It was time to play dress up, so Naya headed back to take a look at the clothing choices. Flashing back to her childhood days, the Gryffindor searched through the clothes, hoping for the perfect outfit. There were some definitely nots in the bunch and several maybes. Finally she settled on a navy blue skirt and a lighter blue sweater. You could never have too much blue, in her opinion.
Naya went into one of the dressing rooms to change. Fortunately everything fit. It didn’t look too bad, so she decided to stick with that outfit.......for now. Besides, the professor said they were allowed to switch up their outfits if they wanted to. There was another combo that she kind of had her eye on.
That would have to wait because class was changing from dress up day to a full blown fashion show. Naya wasn’t sure that she was ready to walk the runway. She waited for a moment to see what everyone else was going to do. Not exactly the shy type, Naya decided to go all in. When it was her turn, she approached the carpet and gave her most high fashion model strut, complete with a dramatic turn. Once she finished, she went back to her seat and prepared to answer the professor’s questions.
Quote:
If wearing pants, which leg do you put in first? Right
If wearing a dress or dress robes did you put it on wrong by mistake? No dress/robe
If you have a tie which hand do you use to loop it? I don’t have a tie, but I use my right hand
Are your shoelaces tied or untied? I don’t have laces.
If a button down shirt did you get all the buttons evenly? No shirt.
Did you pick something to blend in or stand out? Neither, I just picked what I liked.

Look how adorable ALL of her students were and listen to them!!!! She was even more excited about how sweet they were being to each other. 'Bravo, Bravo" She snapped for each student that was walking down the runway. She knew some wouldn't want to be so bold to do the runway, but the ones that did she was super excited for.
"Ashley, amazing dear" She snapped for the first year as she became the first one to do the red carpet. So wonderful to see a young student not afraid to show off her outfit in front of the class. "You are a natural Cecelia, very good." These students were very impressive on the red carpet. She couldn't help but be shocked that Bernie was not walking the carpet, the girl seemed to love the center of attention from what Cassie had seen. "Very good Avalon, very good."
All the students were doing so well. This was so much fun, she hadn't even thought about the red carpet until someone had suggested it. She was so happy they did too, "Bravo Valentina, bravo" They were even dancing now, this was so fun! "Very good Heath, very good!" One of the boys jumping in she was so proud. Her snaps were echoing the room by the end. "Bravo Naya"
"I can not begin to tell you all how pleased I am with every single one of you. You didn't even question me, you got up, found new outfits, and what I am most excited about was the complements I was hearing from all of you. Everyone is getting five extra points today for how kind you were being to each other." She snapped excitedly so proud of everyone. " But now we truly do need to focus on the lesson today." Maybe if they had some time at the end of class more people could walk the carpet. "What do you think clothes has to do with Divination? Why on earth would I have you do this little activity right when you came in today?"
ooc: You all have made the start of this lesson so fun! Question is up, I'll be moving us on in about 24 hours!
Kale liiiiiiiiiiiiiiived for costumes. He, like, really loved to get creative with his clothes. Fash-UN was all about expression and Kale loved to express himself. His proficiency with bedazzling charms was more than proof of that.
So, he got all up in the clothes and put together a truly dizzying outfit. He was working FEATHERS and GLITTER and ALL KINDS OF SHINY THINGS! It was a lewk.
He did his walk, like the little drama boi he was, and then answered the questions quickly:
This was so exciting! Look at all the fun they were having. Cassie honestly wanted to jump in and play fashion show with them, but she reminded herself that she was the professor and she needed to stay where she was observing not participating, plus she could floo out and do a quick shopping trip later, if she found the time.
"Wonderful outfits everyone." She was snapping for all the students and really enjoyed the ones that were trying on different outfits, twirling for others, and giving it a real go to find that perfect item. As she walked around she couldn't help but to pick up a shoe or a dress and just give it a look. Clothes were something she adored so it was hard not to be distracted by them.
Hearing someone ask about keeping the outfits she gave a smile, "No, unfortunately we can't take these out of the classroom today." She might have borrowed some materials to make these items and then duplicate for different styles and colors so she'd have to return the items after class. "Use this time to show off your outfits everyone. Do a little walk if you'd like. Have fun with this." She pulled her wand and had a red carpet go across the middle of the room. She of course had to do this one so she walked down it like she was on the runway just to show the kids she could have fun too. "Who wants to be first?"
"Now anyone that is already finished and has your outfit on I have a few questions I'd like to you use your parchment and answer for me." Waving her wand she put the new questions up on the board.

If wearing pants, which leg do you put in first? Jumped in with both legs
If wearing a dress or dress robes did you put it on wrong by mistake? Nah, girl
If you have a tie which hand do you use to loop it? Right
Are your shoelaces tied or untied? No ties, just straps
If a button down shirt did you get all the buttons evenly? Absolutely not
Did you pick something to blend in or stand out? Stand Out, BBY
Kale shot his hand up in the air. "Because true fashion visionaries see the future, Professor." And Kale BELIEVED that.
ooo points. And compliments. Maybe she did like this class. As to why they were doing it, there were several reasons. Maybe the teacher just liked fashion. Maybe she wanted to take the edge off whatever was about to happen. Maybe she wanted them to do some critical thinking or explain something about themselves. "Maybe you wanted to see an aspect of our personality that you can't see when we're in uniform. And also for the writing part you wanted to see other parts of our personality, like if we are messy with what we are wearing or forget to tie your shoes. Maybe that could tell us about ourselves." Ashley wasn't sure how true that was, but it was like reading yourself instead of the future. And Ashley didn't mind making mistakes anyway.
"Maybe you wanted to see an aspect of our personality that you can't see when we're in uniform. Ashley wasn't sure how true that was, but it was like reading yourself instead of the future. And Ashley didn't mind making mistakes anyway.
Violet looked over at Ashley as she was one of the first to answer the professor's question. She'd been like the first kid to walk down that runway in her outfit, too--Violet wished she had that kind of confidence. And Ashley was only in her first year, too. Violet didn't know why she was so paranoid about doing things in front of other people--she guessed it was because she'd spent so much of her life alone so far. Except last year, but the people she'd been around then weren't very nice, so they definitely didn't count. She caught the younger girl's eye, smiled at her, and said, "Way to go, Ashley, you looked great out there."
Violet resolved that she would just have to get over it, and determined to venture an answer to the question at least. Clothes and divination? She didn't know what the heck they had in common. Unless...hadn't Prof. Kitridge said something in the beginning about choosing the outfit that felt like it was right for you? Hadn't she heard of something like that involving divination and objects?
Violet raised her hand. "Can't some people get psychic impressions by holding people's belongings in their hands? Like, the objects give off some sort of vibrations or auras or something that tells the seer something about the person who wore them? Can clothes contain some sort of magic that draws you to them?"
This was so exciting! Look at all the fun they were having. Cassie honestly wanted to jump in and play fashion show with them, but she reminded herself that she was the professor and she needed to stay where she was observing not participating, plus she could floo out and do a quick shopping trip later, if she found the time.

OOC: Keep having fun this with everyone! I love your responses so far. We will continue no in about 24 hours or so. Plenty of time to change outfits a few times if you'd like and dance the runway.

Aboli smiled and nodded at Avalon. "Yeah! Autumn buddies!" she nudged the girl with her elbow and was glad she had such a kindred spirit with her as a prefect.
Now, she did NOT feel like doing a fashion show..so...she sat and watched others, her eyes glazing over as she dozed off in her own thoughts. But the questions on the board! She quickly wrote them down with answers. They were interesting...they were......how were they related???

Honestly, Aboli didn't know, and it bothered her because she normally KNEW things about Divination. With a furrowed look on her face, she remained quiet. Hmph.

Mamie cheered for her friends and also people she didn't really know as they did the red carpet walk. Herself, she wasn't really interested. She thought her outfit looked cute but that was really just for her. She answered the questions on her parchment instead. Violet and Ashley, though, looked sooo amaaaazing. Mamie could barely help grinning. This was probably her favorite divination class all semester.

If a button down shirt did you get all the buttons evenly? Yes

When it came time to settle down and do actual learning, Mamie tried not to look too sad. Especially when the professor asked the question that she at least had already been wondering. What did their outfit choices have to do with divination? Mamie pondered that for a bit, listening to other students' answers. When she had an almost answer, Mamie raised her hand.
"Is it because clothes are a way to express our right now selves? Like-like today I picked a floral blouse, but if I was sad today I probably would have picked something else!" she said. Like black. Maybe she hadn't picked the black sweater not because it was scratchy but because she was too happy?
Crimalla was a liiiitle disappointed to hear that they wouldn't be keeping their clothes, but of course it was understandable. Though she wondered what would happen to them if they weren't for the students to wear. Ooh - what if they were transfigured into other objects?
After walking back from the red carpet, she looked to see the outfits the other two girls at her table (Kizzy and Cece) had chosen. She liked the older girl's stripes and Kizzy's dark red sweater, but was too shy to say so.

"Thank you for the five points professor!" Crimalla said happily, stifling the urge to sneeze again. She felt very happy knowing that she'd won Ravenclaw five extra points by showing up and being cheerful.
The Hufflepuff girl (Mamie) seemed to have a really good answer to the professor's question. "I agree with her," said Crimalla right after she'd given her answer. "I think clothes tell people stuff about how we're feeling. Like, I have a sore throat, so I chose a turtleneck."
~ Mrs. Steve Harrington ~ It be like that sometimes.
Claudine liked the outfits some of the others had chosen too. This was her thought as she gazed around the classroom, especially admiring Kinsay and Avalon’s. Anyway. They were a fashionable bunch at this particular fourth year table, weren’t they? She threw Valentina a quick glance as the girl did things on the carpet. It was almost always the first years; they were so eager. “You're welcome, Fiona. Thanks,’’ the girl replied to Heath and turned to watch him stumble on her question. She arched an eyebrow, suppressing a smile. “Oh yeah? If you say so, Sir.’’
The snapping started again and Claudine repressed the urge to roll her eyes. Kitridge was one of those extroverts who drained Claudine’s social batteries big time. Five extra points for everyone? That was nice of the professor. As for the question? The girl thought for a bit. “What we choose to wear can predict how our day is going to turn out?’’ Or something like that. Honestly, she just made the response up. While she had been impressed the previous school year with speaking with spirits, Claudine still thought that many forms of Divination were hocus- pocus.

In truth, Kinsay had no idea what clothes had to do with divination. Of course she had questioned it when she saw the dressing rooms lined up at the back of the room, but sometimes you weren't supposed to question blessings. Getting to play dress up in class was a big blessing. She wished they could do it all the time. It was way more fun than staring into teacups. Though she did enjoy that too sometimes.
As for why Professor Kitridge had them do this activity when they came in today... Kinsay wasn't sure about that either, but when it came to her turn to answer she went with a very good guess. "Because you want us to have fun and be happy?"
All professors should want that. Where was Headmaster Trent? He should come take notes.

Heath noticed Claudine trying to suppress a smile. He shot her a knowing look but said nothing. Blink, blink. Wow, He was not expecting praise or points from the professor! The best he hoped for was that his turn on the red carpet wouldn’t be met with his classmates' laughter. He was so fed up with the lack of consideration for others’ feelings that he’d seen from some of them in other lessons that he didn’t trust himself not to langlock the first person who laughed at him, and he’d rather not go through the trouble!
He listened to the professor, and the more he heard, the safer it seemed to assume they weren’t doing a play. What a shame! He was just starting to get into character! Pushing aside his disappointment, he focused on the question. Honestly he didn’t know that clothes did have anything to do with divination until a few seconds ago! Until then, he thought the clothes were meant for a play, and whatever the play was about had to do with divination. No way in Hoth was he saying that out loud, though! That was just asking to get laughed at! So what else could he say that wasn’t either repeating someone else’s answer or completely stupid?
He looked at the questions on his parchment. If those were anything to go on, it wasn’t just what they wore that figured into divination but the way they wore it too. Was that too similar to what the others said? Probably. As he thought, one person’s (Ashley) answer gave him an idea. Uniforms… there had to be a reason that this method of divination, whatever it was, wouldn’t work with them in uniform. His eyes flicked toward his parchment again, and he had it! His hand went up, and he said, “I think we did this activity because having us in uniform would’ve given an inaccurate reading. If we were all dressed similarly, we would’ve answered the questions on this list -” He held up his parchment for demonstration. “- mostly the same way, which could have meant the same prediction for everybody…” Did that make any sense? He felt like he was rambling. Yeah, he was just gonna… keep quiet now.

Valentina was kind of enjoying this lesson so far. She was wearing a cute dress, even if it had been worn by someone else before... not that she was still thinking about it or anything. It was fiiiine. AND, she’d been able to show off her moves which was AWESOME.
... but all of this had nothing to do with divination, did it? “Becaaaaaause.. maybe you didn’t want to teach divination today!! It was meant to be a fun and relaxing lesson, right?” See, very clever. She looked a little too pleased with her response.
Avalon had absolutely no clue what clothes had to do with Divination. Was there some weird form of it where you dressed up in someone else's clothes and tried to predict their future? She had never heard of it, but with all the other weird forms of fortune-telling out there, she wouldn't be all that surprised if it was a thing. Or maybe the written assignment had something to do with it. Glancing over her answers again, she noticed that some of them had to do with personal choices and routines, like what hand you used to tie your tie. That prompted her thinking somewhat. "Well, some people think that Divination is an inexact science. Kind of like trying on clothes. But when you think about it, it also involves some precise steps. Like buttoning a shirt or putting on robes the correct way. And Divination is....similar to that?" It was a wild guess, and perhaps the clothes weren't a metaphor for Divination at all. But it was all Avalon could think of at the moment.

Adam had ZERO clue what any of this had to do with Divination. Truthfully, he didn't really know what Divination WAS other than tarot cards and reading crystal balls. So he was totally lost. BUT he also knew that apparently you could perform Divination with literally anything so he raised his hand.
"Uh, are we gonna do readings with different pieces of clothing?" he answered even though it was more of a question than anything else.

Ivy made her way into class, smushed somewhere in the middle of the pack of fellow badgers shuffling through the door. Her long dark hair was swinging while she was jostled, covering her down turned face. There were so many bigger kids in here that it was hard to see what was going on. With her books clutched to her chest she bounced off person to person making her way toward the middle of the classroom but off to one side.
Settling down in her seat she busied herself with removing her parchment and quill, labeling her notes at the top of the page with the subject and date.

"Good afternoon, I hope you are having a wonderful day."
"Good afternoon to you to my dear. Lovely to see you."
"Oh Morgan, always trying to keep an old professor hip are we." The young kids using old words. Funny how some slang stuck around through the ages.
"Good afternoon Claudine, hope you are finding the day lovely."
"Hello, I hope you are having an amazing day!"
"Good day to you as well."
"Hello Blake, I hope everything is alright." The boy wasn't seeming his chipper self and Cassie always wanted to make sure.
"Hello, hello!" Gosh she adored all her badgers. So good to see them in classes.
Seeing Kale she just chuckled and shook her head. 'Good afternoon Kale."
Did Cassie really enjoy when a child snapped as well, oh yes she did! "Good afternoon my dear."
"It is a perfect November day. I'm so glad you are having a fantastic day today Aboli." It was always so nice to hear when her students were having great days.
LISTEN TO THAT EXCITIEMENT! "Why I guess you will see, but that does sound fun." Maybe they could have a little show if time allowed.
"I'm glad you like it. Lavender is good for the mind. Keeping calm and relaxed helps in this class." Plus who wanted to be all stressed an anxious anyway.
"I wouldn't say performance, but we will be doing something." A good guess all the same though.
"Good afternoon my dear"
"Modeling could be a good way of putting it." Giving just a small smile she winked and moved to the next child coming in.
"Oh my, are you not feeling well? Do you need the nurse my dear?"
'Hello, hope you are doing well."
"Good afternoon!"
She looked at her watch and glanced around the room. Her head shook a bit as she realized her own child was not in the class she should be. She'd have to be speaking with that girl, but no time for that now. "Welcome, welcome. I'm so very pleased you all came to class today. I have such fun for us. I think even the boys will enjoy this lesson." She snapped excitedly and hoped the boys wouldn't mind.
"Now I know you have seen all the clothes, I would like to take the first ten minutes or so to go find what you feel is the perfect outfit. Take turns using the fitting room and don't feel the first thing you put on you have to keep. If you feel it isn't the perfect outfit for you then switch it." She gave them all a huge smile as she headed to the side of the room. "There is plenty of things to pick so no need to fight."
Giving them a few minutes to let it all sink in she clapped, "What are you waiting for, go have some fun!"
ooc: Class has started, but if you are late come in and play anyway say you were here the entire time or if you don't mind IC punishments like point loss well ... Have fun, be creative, remember IC school appropriate clothes will be all there is to pick.
Hearing the professor’s voice, Ivy’s head popped up from her mostly blank piece of parchment. Wait, what? Change her clothes? Reluctantly she got up from her seat and began moving through the piles of clothes. She didn’t really have a personal style. She always just kind of picked things that were simple. To be honest, she actually liked her uniform. Did she have to change?
She grabbed a pair of worn but not distressed jeans, a solid colored dark green v-neck sweater, and a pair of black Converse and headed to the fitting room. Taking off her uniform, Ivy folded it up very carefully so it wouldn’t get wrinkled and put on the clothes she had picked out. The sleeves on the sweater were a bit too long, so she rolled them up a few times. Looking at herself in the mirror, she shrugged and exited the fitting room, carrying her meticulously folded uniform back to her table.

Ivy sat back down at her table and watched as the other students all enjoyed the exercise. It was fun to see what everyone looked like out of their uniforms. They all picked such different things. Smiling a bit as she watched people dance and walk the runway, Ivy unrolled her sleeves to cover her hands and fidgeted with the ends.
As the professor spoke again, Ivy took note of the questions on the board and began writing her response:

Ivy tapped her quill against her lips pondering the professor’s question. What DID clothes have to do with divination? Mumbling to herself, she began to brainstorm possible reasons, scribbling on her parchment:
“Well, even though we are all different, there are some ways that we’re the same... maybe? Like maybe we have to tap into what’s the same about us to predict stuff about other people...”
That seemed like as good of a guess as any... she thought as she finished writing her idea onto her parchment and then started adding the other student’s ideas to the list as well.

"Is it because clothes say a lot about one's personality, whether they intend them to or not?" It was the closest thing she could come up with, anyway. Though that fact was really more along the lines of decutive reasoning than divination. But maybe it counted as divination in the magical world because decutive reasoning was really more of a muggle thing? Or so it appeared for some witches and wizards anyway. Ha!

Noah had been daydreaming.
Truth be told, the boy had in his own thoughts a lot lately. It was for no particular reason - perhaps a blend of reasons which he didn't care to disclose. He finally snapped back when the Professor moved on from the outfit question. He blinked. What? Had he really just zoned out???
As he listened to other students answer the questions, he began to make notes.
SPOILER!!: Noah's notebook
If wearing pants, which leg do you put in first? Depends on how I feel. To be honest, it changes.
If wearing a dress or dress robes did you put it on wrong by mistake? Never
If you have a tie which hand do you use to loop it? Umm...
Noah glanced down at his tie, untied it and then retied it just to be sure. Left. He used his left. So he answered that as such.
SPOILER!!: Noah's notebook
Are your shoelaces tied or untied? Always tied. Double knotted.
If a button down shirt did you get all the buttons evenly? Yes shirt always done. Wait. I lied. I missed the first button.
Did you pick something to blend in or stand out? Classic style with an accent piece to stand out. Of course.
Now the next question... What did clothes have to do with Divination? Noah had absolutely no clue. He scratched his head, trying to think through answers before offering his hand. Not knowing if his answer made sense, he offered it anyway. "Can we read into a person's nature by their clothes? Not only their colours and styles.. but also the chemical or physical make? So if someone wore 100% cotton something or silk..." Dude. Where was Minjae- this class would have been TOTALLY up his alley. "You'd be able to learn something about them?
Puff by day, snake by night | Mj's bestie | Always UP to Something...
All these guesses were so wonderful and creative. The students were really giving their all today. She went around the room and picked students with their hands raised. She wanted to make sure she got every one.
SPOILER!!: replies
Kale shot his hand up in the air. "Because true fashion visionaries see the future, Professor." And Kale BELIEVED that.[/QUOTE]
"Well Kale there are many different ways for seers to have the gift, I could see fashion being something. Very good guess."

"I absolutely loved seeing the aspect of your personalities, this little intro to the lesson was fantastic. You are close on what the lesson will be about today." Giving a little wink she gave excited snaps.

"Being a seer can come in all forms. Mine for example comes in animal communication, so fashion could possibly be one." She wouldn't say it wasn't possible.

Honestly, Aboli didn't know, and it bothered her because she normally KNEW things about Divination. With a furrowed look on her face, she remained quiet. Hmph.
Giving Aboli an encouraging look she was surprised she hadn't spoken up or given a guess.

Mamie could barely help grinning. This was probably her favorite divination class all semester.
"Very good guess." She gave snaps for the great guesses.

"Clothes can be a great expression and part of why they will be so important for our lesson."

"That is actually a very impressive guess." She gave snaps.

Laughing a bit she just shook her head and snapped, "Of course I want you to have fun. I want you to have fun in all my lessons."

"That is a very good observation and yes, some would have been but many would still be different. Great guess though Heath."

Another answer that got Cassie laughing, this class was really fun today and the students were making it so. "I always want to teach Divination, but I'm so glad it doesn't feel like learning with our activity."

"That is a great comparison."

With her books clutched to her chest she bounced off person to person making her way toward the middle of the classroom but off to one side.
Settling down in her seat she busied herself with removing her parchment and quill, labeling her notes at the top of the page with the subject and date.
"That is a very interesting answer. I like where your thoughts are going."

"Those are very good guesses. There is so many things you can find about a person by just observing the way they dress."
"Many of your answers were very good and some of you were very much on the right track. Now I had you start the day by picking outfits and changing so your behavior while changing was fresh in your mind. It gave you an opportunity to really know what leg goes in first or what way do you button a shirt. We have heard since we were very little to never judge people by first glance, so no to judge them possibly for the clothes they wear, but for someone with an eye for divination seeing their clothes can actually tell so much about a person." She smiled as she walked around the class making sure she had their attention.
"Stolisomancy is the form of divination that tells about someone's future by the way they put on their clothes. This morning while I got up I did my usual morning routines. A little yoga, had my tea, and then got dressed. I without realizing had placed my dress on backwards. Now of course I switched it so I wasn't looking crazy, but I couldn't help but think how if you place a dress on backwards it means I will get a gift in the afternoon. " She felt she had gotten that gift with how excited her students were and how much fun this lesson was so far.
She waved her wand and a new set of words showed up on the board.
Quote:
Quote:
Putting a shirt on inside out means bad luck
Putting a dress on wrong means you will get a gift soon
If right shoe lace is untied someone is talking nice about you
If left is untied someone is talking ill about you.
If you put your left leg in first you will have financial trouble
If you put your right in first you will have financial gain
If you loop your tie with your left hand you will find love
If you loop your tie with your right hand you will be alone
"I put the last question about standing out or fitting in just because I think it is a great self reflection." That was her own little getting to know yourself opportunity. Smiling at the students she looked around, "For the next few minutes I'd like you to look at the questions you answered after you were done getting dress. Check your answers with what they mean and make a prediction about yourself based on how you got dressed." This was going to be fun to see what all they come up with.
Slytherindor ♛ The Crazytastic Besties ♛ Shan Watson ♛
Noah nodded at the Professor's comments before taking notes once more. Stolisomancy. Stoli... Kinda rhymed with Aboli... Abolisomancy. He smirked. Making note of both the names next to each other. He'd have to tease the Slytherin Prefect later. Heh. It was a form of divination that tells about someone's future by the way they put on their clothes. Interesting.
As he listened to the Professor speak, he noted that his finances would be neutral cause he wasn't sure which leg he opted for more... His eyebrows RAISED and the boy blushed when he realized one of his answers had a deeper meaning.
If you loop your tie with your left hand you will find love.
Well he did have a girlfriend who he loved but what was the meaning of this. "Uh. Professor. Question - do these answers... like for instance the tying your tie with the left hand means you find love... Does it have a specific time frame? Asking for a friend," he spoked, trying to play it cooly. Yeah, he'd totally play it off Minjae and Aboli... And not his own affections.
AHEM.
Based on his answers, his financial situation would be medium which he preferred. And then he'd have love or found love. The love part was confusing.
Ashley did not see how that could be possibly correct. "Uh, well, I'm going to have financial troubles, but the only ones I can imagine is money going to my family's head. Does that count as trouble? Because in that case then it's true." Sure, her family had had to spend a lot of money on unexpected hospital bills over the course of her lifetime, but they never had not enough money. In fact, they had a lot more than enough. "I think I just put my left leg in first because I'm left-handed."
[COLOR="Uhhhh.. divination based on the way someone puts on their clothes. How interesting!! It was more a lot more fun than all the other lessons so far anyway. The red carpet walk - or rather the red carpet dance was the best, honestly. If only all the other professors could implement this kind of fun in their lessons too! She quickly tried to write whatever the professor said - because everyone around her seemed to be taking notes - but somehow managed to get only half of it down. Never mind, she’ll just have to borrow someone else’s notes later.
She frowned, looking at the words on the board and comparing them to the answers she’d written earlier. Wait, whaaaaaaat. She immediately raised her hand, looking extremely alarmed. “Professor, I use my right hand to loop my tie which means that I’ll find love!” Gross. ”I’m too young for that! I don’t want to find love now.”
~ Mrs. Steve Harrington ~ It be like that sometimes.
Impressive guess?
Claudine decided that she could agree with that. In the very least, it was not the answer Kitridge was looking for. But she had come awfully close to the real answer. The girl started to make her notes and, as he looked at the new notes on the board, she couldn’t help but feel disbelief well up in her. Why? Simply because Claudine wasn’t any more convinced about Divination in general than she had been when she set foot in the classroom.
Still, the interpretations from the board were scribbled down before she moved to begin carrying out the next set of instructions. Looking over the questions, Claudine realised how limiting they were. For example, this set did not cater for someone wearing skirts, ribbons or shoes without laces. As such, there was no way that she could make any prediction about herself.
The looping of the tie with the left hand intrigued her though. Could it work for ribbons. Um… should she ask Kitridge. No, she decided quickly. A particular Ravenclaw boy might figure certain things out if she did.
Mamie looked at what her head of house had written on the board...then down at what she had written on her parchment. Half the questions had not really applied to her, so...She had put her left leg in first, which meant....financial trouble? What could that mean for her, she was only eleven!
Mamie raised her hand. "I put my left leg in my pants first," she said slowly, "which means financial trouble. Which could mean...maybe I'll lose my allowance?" Not that she had much of an allowance to begin with.

Kinsay wasn't sure that she believed any of this. Though she would most definitely put her dresses on backwards from now on because she liked gifts. She also wanted to test the theory and it seemed like the best bet for doing so. Besides, the only thing she could possibly interpret from her own decisions today was that she was going to have financial trouble? What did that even mean! She didn't even have any finances to begin with.
She jotted it down in her notes anyway, and then looked back up expectantly. Also. She did have a question so she raised her hand. "Professor, will this stuff still happen if we get dressed a certain way on purpose?" Because if that were to be the case, Kinsay wanted to know all the other things she could do to have good luck.

Usually Heath hated being wrong, especially when it involved being wrong in front of a room full of other people, but this time he wasn’t too fussed over it. He had no idea where this was going, so he just made a guess based on the information he had available at the time. He hardly expected it to be right! At least Professor Kitridge didn’t insult or talk down to him for being wrong… which was more than he could say for some professors in this school. *cough*Trent!*cough* He listened to the professor, diligently jotting down notes. As he did so, the concept started to make more sense, though he still wasn’t sure he believed in it. Predicting the future based on the way a person dressed seemed like a huge stretch! But he supposed he didn’t have to believe in it, just go with it.
Eyes flicking toward the board, Heath cross referenced the information written there with his answers to the questions. He wasn’t wearing a dress or shoes with laces, and he had put his shirt on correctly. That was about half of the interpretations on the list that he could eliminate already! Was there anything on this list he could use? Oh, there was something: If you put your right in first you will have financial gain. He thought for a minute, trying to decipher the prediction. Maybe his grandparents would give him some Christmas money… that was the only type of financial gain that seemed even remotely likely to happen to him. What a nothing prediction! He thought. They give me money every Christmas, so why would this year be the exception?
Heath checked the board again, just in case there were any possible predictions he missed, and his face fell. If you loop your tie with your right hand you will be alone… His heart sank. He’d already spent the first fourteen years of his life alone; he didn’t want to go back to it now! He shook his head, reminding himself that it didn’t mean anything. It probably wouldn’t come true… but what if it did? What if he lost her? He trusted she’d never hurt him by abandoning him, but… what if he hurt her? Or worse, what if one of them died? A million scenarios ran through his mind, and for some reason, he envisioned her dead by one of Trent’s cruel punishments and himself swearing revenge against the headmaster. Then I would live up to my name, he thought darkly.
He stared at his notes to hide the sadness in his eyes, determined not to let that prediction become a self-fulfilling prophecy by annoying Claudine and everyone else in the room with his emotions. Hopefully if anyone saw, they would think he was still acting! In an effort to distract himself, he picked up his quill and wrote down the interpretations that went with his answers and the predictions he came up with… or he did for the first interpretation anyway. He didn’t care to venture a guess to the second interpretation. He would be devastated if it came true, no matter how it happened! As he was writing, he overheard his classmates talking. Wait, were they supposed to give their predictions out loud? Nope, sorry, Professor! He wasn’t in the mood for talking… his written prediction would have to do.
SPOILER!!: Heath's notes
Quote:
If wearing pants, which leg do you put in first? Right - means financial gain (Prediction: Grandma & Grandpa will give me money for Christmas)
If wearing a dress or dress robes did you put it on wrong by mistake? Not wearing either of these things, but if we were counting a long coat, the answer is no.
If you have a tie which hand do you use to loop it? Right - means I’ll be alone
Are your shoelaces tied or untied? These shoes don’t have laces.
If a button down shirt did you get all the buttons evenly? Yes
Did you pick something to blend in or stand out? A bit of both. The style of the outfit stands out, but the neutral colors keep it from attracting too much attention..
